Has anyone noticed that Timeline in Google Maps doesn't work properly most of the times? A lot of times I go to places and later on I find out that Timeline haven't had detected my travel time and location... If you haven't noticed, I suggest you keep an eye on that and see if that's the case.
Me too.
But actually only since the update to Nougat.
Same problem, with the same phone. Some days have no data, and other work perfectly. I have tried lots of reset and reinstall and I have no idea why it randomly works.
It is probably because Maps may be being stopped after your screen gets locked. Go to Settings -> Battery -> Close Apps after screen lock and unselect Maps from the list of apps displayed and see if it helps
Made sure to check that Maps wasn't selected in the close app after screen lock thing, but timeline still isn't working. If anybody has any other ideas they would be much appreciated!
I have this exact problem as well. I don't know that causes it.
But I have a different phone - Huawei Mate 9 pro. That's where the problem is.
My previous phone, Huawei p9, did not have this problem at all...
Exactly same here. Huawei Mate 9.
Someone solve this issue?
My timeline isn't working at all. I cant even view my timeline in my maps. It shows 'Cant connect to maps. Try again in a few minutes'. Anyone else facing this? Any solution for this?
Same problem with my HUAWEI Mate 9: location hardly recorded in timeline. I have disabled stopping of app when locked for Google Maps and any other app that might relate to it.
I guess that HUAWEI implemented other aggressive power saving routines, which conflicts with the timeline recording. Did anybody observe this exact issue on a phone from another company? Having such unexpected and undocumented behavior in the operating system makes me suspicious agains the Chinese producer.
Would be great if somebody could find a solution, work-around, or at least an explanation.
BTW: I'm surprised to see so few postings here. Is this issue discussed on a more popular place?
I've been observing the same problem recently, some days it tracks my timeline perfectly and on other days it thinks I spent the day at home, despite being out and about for up to 10 hours at a time.
Using Mate 9 L29 and its been happening on multiple different firmware versions
Me too, I guess the issue is from the software.
Or may be the google app issue too
I have the same issue with my honor 8, any fix?
I have the same problem with my P10.
Before I had an HTC one m7 and I had no problem at all.
Did anyone find some solution?
I used to have this issue with my Honor 8 but now it works as it should. So, I don't have a specific fix for it and I don't know how it started to work suddenly but... A few months ago my phone refused to connect to any WiFi network and I had to send it in to get it repaired, they replaced the board and the WiFi was working.
And well, I noticed that Google Maps Timeline was working all of a sudden, and it still works. Weird since a board replacement shouldn't have fixed the Maps Timeline it since it's most likely software related.
Does anyone have an update on this issue? I've experienced the same thing since I bought my Honor8 a few months ago (timeline history doesn't work/works very infrequently). Could it be due to a defect in the onboard GPS? Or is it purely a software bug?
Same issue with my mate 9... I've found no fix. I've tried clearing all cache, disconnecting the account, and reconnecting the account to google location sharing, but with no success
I got the same **** ?
I have the same problem as OP with my Huawei Mate 10 pro EMUI 8.0, Android 8.0, Security Patch 6. November 2017.
But i have find out:
I have 3 different Google Accounts. When i delete the two and work only with one, the timeline will be logged in Google Maps.
So i think it hasn't to do with power savings in my case.
Google Maps Timeline does not know how to log with more than one Google Account.

That can't be the case;
I've been using two sony devices for 5 years, with my 3 google accounts, and I have like every day logged in my main account.
Then I switched to the shiny new Mate 10 Pro... FML.
Anyone else started to face problems when suddenly an app by the name 'imonitor' got installed on their Honor 6X and it keeps crashing preventing the WiFi from working.
I did some research and turns out that it is a spyware and I can't delete it because I am unrooted and my it is a system app.
How can I fix this?

i think imonitor is a system app which is preinstalled in the phone...I also have that app and is running in background almost all the times....I am not facing the issue !
Sent from my BLN-L22 using XDA Labs
I have that app too, it's part of the software, and it doesn't causes any issue to me. Wi-Fi usage is independent from imonitor service running.
I did some research too some time ago, and i found this investigation taken from a Twitter user here https://twitter.com/fs0c131y/status/960632764973441024 where the question about what it really does it's still unknown. Some thinks it's a spyware app, while Huawei claims that it's part of the anti-virus software present in Phone Service app.
It's possible to froze the app, anyway. But root is needed.

Hi.
I've got the same problem, since 10th May too, on my honor 6.x
imonitor process doesn't response, which causes very serious slowdowns of the interface and the others applications. The mobile network is not reachable, and some incoming phone calls were missed.
Temporarely I had to reboot to get mobile functions on, but problem is not solved...
And I confirm the symptoms described by Veeruroxx : wifi connexion became off.
I get the message "imonitor application doesn't response. Waiting or close the app".
When you select "wait", the message "imonitor application ..." comes again later, and when you select "close the app", no message comes later, but when you go the process running in parameters of the smartphone (developper options activated), you can see imonitor application is still running.
Another clue, maybe, i've got the city race 3d game installed on my phone, and i can no longer run it. I uninstall et install again the application, but nothing has changed. can't run again.
Perhaps it's not imonitor application which is the source of the problem, but the problem seems to appear by that application.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I wrote on Club Honor but I didn't get a reply. Is there a place where I can contact the customer support as I am unable to find.
UPDATE:
I received an OTA Update (BLN-L22C675B363) and I haven't faced the issue since then. The changelog did mention about updates regarding security patches and I am assuming that the 'imonitor' app is sending error logs to some Huawei servers and there was a communication error that caused the WiFi to stay busy. However, that seems to be patched now.
Did anyone else get this update and can they report whether their issue has been fixed?
Guys,
My phone started to behave abnormally after updating to may 10th google play services. I constantly lose wifi and my phone gets frozen. I gotta retart it in every hour.
Also whenever i send a location it says "google services are updating" i uninstalled services and it updated itself then problems started again.
When the phone get frozen the heat increases like crazy and the battery depletes itself enermously if i dont restart it.
When i lose wifi i cannot see any other wifi networks in the settings. I lose them all and it appears as if there are no wifi networks.
I also wonder if this could be a battery issue? I will reset to factory settings tonight if noone has an answer to this.
Thanks. I am on aura 2.2 rom the latest version
I am also having an issue with google play services. I am using sport tracking apps and they all show google play services updating.
Do you also get random crashes and freezes? I checked many forums, it is very common among huawei users right now. It has affected many phones and you can find many complaints about it. But google provided no support right now.
I also read that factory resetting is not solving the issue. So i am not gonna waste time on that and wait for a new update.
But i can tell for the first time i regret using a huawei phone. Deeply loving it made me cover its faulty updates but i got tired of restarting the phone hourly
I had the exact same issues you described. Google Street View, Uber, and other apps would display 'google services are updating' and not work at all.
Fixed it by leaving the Google Play Services beta testing channel. I'm now running version 12.6.73 (040400) and all's back to normal.
On the other hand my P20 is still on the beta channel 12.6.73 (040408) and no issues.
There's an ongoing thread about an issue which seems what you're talking and is specific to Huawei phones. My problem related to this, is that I can't logon on Chrome... More details in the link below

Hi, on my Mate 9 in my Car with Android Auto, the Google Assistent dont run, and says everytime when i activate it: "There is no stable Internet Connection"
I hope google or Huawai will it correct it
Hello,
Same problems with my Mate 9 MHA-L09
It was said that this bug is reported by many people in Google issue tracker. Lots of Google Maps apps such as Uber and Taxify don't work well. It looks like wide range of Huawei devices is severely impacted by latest Play Services update to version 12.6.73. A good news is Google is working on it.
Two temporary solution for an end-user to try:
1. Clear cache & data of Google Play services
2. Go to Setting - App - Google Play Services, disable it to go back factory version.
Restart the phone and go to Google Play Store to do the update on Google Play Services.
Wonder if this is the same "bug" I've been having trouble with. Sometimes, & I can't nail down how it happens, if I wake up the phone, and it could have been screen off for 5 minutes, all night, 20-30 minutes...no pattern, that after waking it up, tap on anything and it might be 10-20 seconds before it does anything. EVERY app is like that. I thought it might have been with Nova launcher, but that doesn't seem to be it, rebooting the phone appears to "fix it". Just dumped cache on play, stopped, uninstalled, rebooted (play store isn't showing any updates, still at 11.xx). I'll just watch it and see how it act.
By me its help Temporary, Everythings run until the next restart of my phone and my smartwatch must reset to
So far, almost 24 hours later, dumping the storage, stopping, "uninstalling" the play services, and going back to the stock one (11.xx) seems to have cured my "lag". Everything is snappy again.
Can someone confirm that with this issue ongoing you can open events in the Calendar app? If possible from an Exchange account...
Currently I open Calendar, select an event, it opens and immediately closes. So Calendar now is also unusable for me What's going on?
Thanks!

Yes it has been fixed (sic!) with version 12.6.85 from version 12.6.73. The big errors have been fixed on software such as Uber and Map programmes. Still awaiting to see if the hardware problems are sorted, (my phone would be hot to the touch to the extent that glue on the phone cover would soften and become pliable).
To summarise.... So far so good.
I can confirm, I have upgraded to 12.6.85 earlier today and so far so good.
Clear now
So far, almost a week into the update, no issues on my end with the phone lagging.
If my phone is on for more than 10 minutes, I lose calling functionality. When I try to call someone, it freezes and the Pixel becomes unresponsive, forcing me to hold down power for 10 seconds for a reboot. After this, it works just fine for another 10 or so minutes.
I have no idea when calling functionality begins to be lost because I can still send and receive texts, but I can't make or receive calls. I don't even get a wave of missed calls or anything when it works after a reboot.
Google Assistant has it's own issues when this happens too. It won't come up with "Hey, Google" at all. When I long press the home button, Google Assistant comes up, but I just get the floating dots. Fortunately, it doesn't freeze when I try this. Restart the phone and I'm good for about 10 minutes or so. I tried installing 3rd party calling apps, but the problem persists.
Hoping this is a Pie issue and waiting for the next security patch, will likely do a sideload flash-all. Any suggestions as to what the problem is from? Could my SIM card be the problem? Any apps I could try to help narrow down the issue? I had no issues with Oreo.
Thanks in advance.
Tried rebooting in safe mode. Slightly similar results: works fine for about 10 minutes but then it's just the mic not working. I can make and receive calls with out the phone freezing, but no mic.

I have a similar issue with a used Pixel I purchased. I couldn't place or receive calls, with everything else working fine. Did the prerequisite online searches with results finding most everyone experiencing this issue chalking it up to hardware but I'm still thinking software. I tried a different phone app (drupe-enabled as default) with some success, then the problem returned (a few days later, rarely get/make calls). The default google phone app (version 23.0) fails every time. Currently looking into TWRP/Root and hoping to eliminate certain default apps to experiment further. Will be keeping an eye on this post! :cyclops:

Could there be an issue within google play services with phone dialer app (any/or stock app)?
After continued issues I parked phone in drawer a bit then pulled out and tinkered with a few weeks later. Tried to isolate problem using logcat and on a hunch I flashed TWRP and a custom ROM but NOT any gapps package. Sticking sim in and using the built in phone app (Resurrection Remix -com.android.dialer) it works without issue. What? I flashed gapps (correct version/etc) and sure enough the problem returned. Went back to rom minus gapps, works fine. So, with straight up stock rom - stock phone dialer fails, custom rom - it works without a gapps package but not with.

Went back to Oreo before I had the problems and... problems persist. I'm sad. I had the privilege of speaking to someone from Google Support who was very knowledgeable. Unfortunately, my best option from the rep was to take it in to one of their authorized repair places.
Are you guys on Verizon? I'm having this problem with my dad's pixel on vzw.

See my updated post (# 3) for what I've tried since..
Vzw ended up replacing my dad's phone through extended warranty. I talked to Google for awhile. Multiple factory resets, factory image installs, tried older phone apks. Nothing worked.

Older/newer phone dialer apps didn't work for me either ... custom rom and eliminating google play services did (no gapps). I'm still tinkering with the device ... installing frequently used apps using F-droid and Yalp, will test it. Not quite sure why but it works.
I ended up flashing Lineageos for Microg, presents it's own problems in the learning experience but it works.
Nothing ever worked in the end. No, not with Verizon. Bought through Canadian carrier called Fido.
Called Google tech and they weren't overly helpful. I started a chat with a Google Tech and they suggested I take it to UBreakIFix. They did a free diagnostic test and I referenced https://support.google.com/pixelphone/forum/AAAAb4-OgUsIW_gxTpXX3s/?hl=by that thread. Said they'd fix it for free even thought I was out of warranty. Got a new motherboard and my phone works like a charm.
Hello guys, i dont know if this is the right place but here i go!
I recently bought a Mi 9T PRO to replace my OP5T, i had absolutely 0 problems using my smartwatch with the OP5T but the same didnt happened with 9T pro.
Everytime i close all my apps the watch disconnects, i already removed all samsung apps from the battery saving options and locked the samsung app but it still disconnects.
I have MIUI 11 9.11.22 from Xiaomi EU but the problem already happened when i had stock MIUI 10 10.3.3
Anyone facing the same problem or know the solution?
Thanks in advance!

Hello mate thanks for your help!
Unfortunatly already did it and it did not help.
I tried to connect it back to my OP5T and it worked great so i exclude this is a watch problem.
Exclude Gear Apps from the "close all apps" (long press on open apps and click the lock icon)
