Hi,
Tried searching real quick, mostly with "keyboard", found no threads.
Anycase, I live in Finland, thus I use a Finnish keyboard, but as I'm used to everything being in English, so is my phone.
Whatsapp, telegram, sms and pretty much everything I've used so far, apart from browsers (chrome, firefox) have a Finnish keyboard only. BUT browsers have decided that I also need an English keyboard.. And I can't get rid of it. I only have a Finnish keyboard selected, the only language in anything related to kb lang. Using the samsung kb that came with the phone.
Any ideas?
Edit: using the SM-G970F

Hi,
noticed lately a silly problem in Opera Mobile: on certain wap-sites and some websites (I only remember now mobile.bahn.de - the german train-company website) the browser keeps going back one site if the backspace-key is pressed _inside_ a entryfield for name, mailadress or something like it.
On my old Tytn I never encountered such a prob, even not with the Opera Mini.
So, how get I help? And who serves us with Opera-Updates? Opera or HTC?
HTC only offers one ROM-update, but only with arabic/muslime softwareupgrades, nothing I could use.
kind regards.
Don't know what version you are using, but check if you can update it. A few posts back, I posted a link to an update I saw somewhere on this forum. gl
same problem here...is there a cab fix
I used to use mini 4.2 as my main browser, but I have weird keyboard issues with the new 5.0 mini versions out there. I don't remember if that is one of them, but typing was virtually impossible, using either the hardwared keyboard or my sip.
First off, MAJOR kudos to MDJ. I was a Darkstone ROM user for a while, and in the wake of his departure, I tried a few other Android builds. MDJ's is FAR AND ABOVE the best I found -- no crashes, extremely infrequent data hangs, and so far, all of the app updates from the Market have continued to function.
(FYI, using Mdeejay_FroYo_Sense_v._2.4_Clean_S6.1.)
The only "issue" I have -- which was an issue with other ROMs as well -- is that, because there's no "English - USA" option for the languages, I choose "English - UK". As a result (or at least I presume it's a related outcome), the app servers default to their UK host addresses. For example, Amazon MP3 goes to "Amazon MP3 (UK) for searches, etc.
Since I'm a "yank," it sure would be more efficient if I could make these apps hit the US-based servers. Is there a way to make that happen? Where do I edit??
Thanks in advance...
BUMP
Can I get a BUMP?
I noticed that Google has two different mobile versions of his pages. One for his default Android browser and one for the others. And the one for the others is much simpler. It's most noticeable when you try to display iGoogle. In the default browser you get fancy user interface with many features and widgets whereas in Opera Mobile 11, you get really simple HTML page with practically no settings. I set Opera to use the user agent of the default browser and suddenly I got the better mobile version too. And naturally with all functionality.
So I ask.. why Google does that? He thinks, that other browsers can't handle advanced features of his pages? Or is he simply trying to put off people from using alternative browsers? Or is there an official way turn on this better version? Because changing the user agent seems to break some other pages and even the Google search, although it looks much better and more modern, is for some reason displayed extremely wide.
I couldn't find anything about this weird behavior but maybe I just used the wrong keywords
Bump. I have wondered this too, and it forces me to use dolphin (which is essentially the default browser spiced up a bit). I like the google homepage with the default android browser because it uses my location. Withe firefox, its as if Im on a computer and is less helpful. Anyone have a solution/workaround?
Well, as I wrote before, I changed the user agent of Opera to the user agent of stock browser/Dolphin so basically Opera pretended to be stock browser and I really got the nice modern Google Homepage, including my location. However the layout was a little bit messed up, the viewport was strangely wide, so it was kind of useless. But I guess it's a problem of Opera. You could try it too in Firefox, but I don't know whether it is possible to change your user agent in mobile Firefox, maybe there is an addon for it?
Easiest way to get the stock browser user agent is to open stock browser, use Google to search "what is my user agent", go to first link and select and copy the text it displays. You can just past it then wherever you want to.
Btw. I tried Dolphin HD and I almost switched because I really liked the UI (Opera is a little bit old school I would say) but when it came to rendering real full webpages, Opera was way way faster than Dolphin. At least on my Nexus S.
I really like the Opera mobile also with the Google search from the stock android browser using the user agent. I really wish there wasn't so wide like others here have posted. Hopefully someone or Opera will come up with a fix.
The instructions found in the below post has seemed to fix all of the rendering issues I had with Opera Mobile.

I really wish that opera would fix the problem of Google search being to wide. I really like the opera browser but it is annoying when searching to have to scroll to the right in order the click the search button sometimes.
Certain apps like facebook in the market are coming up in another language rather then in english, that's the description. Certain websites are showing in another language rather then in english. Sites like iplayer are showing fine thou....this is a random thing does not happen all the time. I have tried turning wifi location on and off, reboot. Any ideas or suggestions would be great.
Using vegacomb 1.7 on advent Vega, besides this issues brilliant rom.

Yesterday I updated to Mango on my HTC HD7 and already had a huge dissapointment...
First of all I live in Israel and surf in few Hebrew sites. The new IE does not support any of them!!!
Even not Google.co.il.
The screen just splits in half or the IE goes crazy (I will post a video that demonstrates it later). You can't even zoom in or out. It wasn't like that in NoDo version.
The second problem is that the hebrew keyboard I installed previously is not freezes in Marketplace and some other aplications, and i can't write anything.
If anyone knows about this faults (especially the first one), and how can I fix them, please let me know.
Just check it yourself by entering some hebrew site like, kama.co.il and see for yourself IE go crazy...
Thank you.
anyone?
can anyone help me?
No problems here pal. I tried both sites in samsung focus and they are working ok. I can zoom, I suggest a clean update from scratch or a hard reset.
Yeah it looks funky on my DVP
both sites act funny. google doesnt load and chops half the page; kama bounces around until it's done loading. I wonder the language/script has anything to do with it?
I'm using Spanish in some languague settings, here is a proof.
Thanks but its really a mess on my HTC HD7..
