Your question is hilarious and like asking "what's your favorite pasta?" Opinions are like eyebrows.
Head to the rom/kernel forum and read up, though you may not find too many comments about how people like it or how it feels.
A lot of us use xxx limit and Renovate Ice, or RICE. You could use those 2 as starting points and keep them or remove them and move on. It's like trying pasta..

Thanks for the reply, but I've got no idea what any of those things are. I've tried reading some but I get lost in the jargon a lot of the time. What are the things you named, mods or roms, and what's the difference between them?

Josh.. You bought an awesome phone that is fast and has amazing battery life as is. ROMS or modifications, let you tweak things or settings within the normal operating system. RICE, for example, let's you alter the status bar - the clock position, font, and size and color. It also enables the horizon light, a light that comes on while the phone is off to notify you of a notification. The rom XXX Limits, debloats (removes) bloatware as you wish, and applies other modifications to the phone's hardware.
Don't feel forced to install anything else, since this phone is awesome in stock Oxygen OS. When you're ready to experiment, read the opening post (OP) of the rom threads, and you can begin to experiment.
Or stay as you are now and enjoy the phone.
Don't forget to use the Thanks button.

Thank you! The phone is awesome, and one of the cleanest Android experiences I've ever had. The one thing I do want to modify, if it's possible, is the way the volume is oriented. I want to separate notification and ringtone volumes.

Check for RR (for me is the best custom ROM)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/development/rom-resurrection-remix-t4103115
I'd rank crDroid as #1 and Resurrection Remix as #2. Both are based on Lineage so they are both similar and both are stable. crDroid has a few options that Resurrection doesn't have but you can't go wrong with either one if you want to go with a custom rom. The developers of both roms are very active and fix bugs quickly.

Does the camera in this rom have touch to focus functionality? I'm about to flash to this one, but I do like the camera in the desire rom..
edit-----
Nevermind, I've already flashed it.
Found 2 bugs: the camera and screen autodim
Basically this is the default nexus camera, and on the desire hardware (at least on mine) it cannot autofocus. Takes blurry shots, and the lens seems to dislike the rom..
The screen auto-dimmer seems to be stuck on really low..
Besides this everything seems to work fine. The lockscreen is perfect. Not keeping the rom though, the camera is a nogo for me.
Just hope somebody can bake this lockscreen into the desire rom
Just love this rom, Thanks Paul

No, you have to do some work:
The morphs cant be used due to semi-root that we have today. (no write permission)
And the mods may need to be converted to be able to install on this rom.

I have been a member since grabing the HD2 (US) and learned a lot from the developers here (I lurk and read). I have taken advantage of their knowledge and the the wiki, to which I thank everyone for all their work. Until recently I was always wanting to find a way to contribute back to the community and after getting the EVO, rooting, and messing around with some things I thought I would share the bootanimation I have been working on.
It is my very first one, so go easy, but I hope you enjoy. It is a little lengthy and the fps bogs down a little but I always wanted this to be my boot image. As usual, you assume all responsibility for any damage you do to your phone. If you need help, search, or shoot me a PM and I will be happy to answer questions when and where I can.
If you do happen to like my animation, awesome! I will take requests if anyone is interested and within the scope of my free time.
If you do not like my work, your entitled to your opinion, all I ask is for constructive criticism.
Hope you all enjoy!

UPDATE:
User Tiffany84 was so kind to make a complete package you can install from recovery for desire based roms. Also thank the user myn for posting the preview and link within the body of this thread. Thank you both for your help!

Here is a flashable zip. Just place on root of sd. Boot into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik. Then just flash like you would a rom. This has the sound included so you need to be on a sense rom in order to flash this because aosp roms don't have sound for the animation and the boot animation is located in a different place on a aosp rom.

Tiffany84 has come through again making a zip install from recovery for aosp roms, you can pick up this zip from the quote below:
Tiffany84 said:

This is a flashable zip of the bootanimation. This is for aosp roms only. This doesn't have the sound because I don't think it's possible to have sound for the bootanimation on a aosp rom. If your on a sense rom I have also uploaded a flashable version for sense roms that has the sound included. It's on page 3.

If anyone has questions, feel free to ask
UPDATE 2:
Recently optomized the animation, original recipe, smaller file size for the new year's diet. Also tweaked the sound and its damn near perfect. The new animation seems to run a little smoother and quicker, but that could just be me.
*These are not flashable via recovery, you must use adb or copy them to your sdcard and move them to the proper system file directory. The flashable versions created by Tiffany84 are the previous version.
**User roscoenr has just uploaded flashable zips from recovery for either type of rom. You can find those on page 8 for anyone interested. Thanks for the help roscoenr!
Enjoy!

i will rock it when rls5 is dropped 2nite!
Great animation, good choice in using the World at War setting. I'll try it out once I get home.
Much appreciated.
THIS IS HOT!!!! I'm loving this. Will be flashing tonight!
Ive only tested this on my EVO so far. The HD2 is waiting for a new digitzer, I broked it.
If anyone tries this out without the audio let me know how the performance of the animation is, please and thanks.

Works Perfectly. Audio Isn't that off
That looks pretty slick man
Did you use an app for it or do the film effect by hand? I've been wanting to do something similar to that but I don't have the time to do it manually.

Basically I took the originally title screen movie for Call of Duty World at War and used it as a background template. Most of the film affects are from that video, the android logo's and text were screened in by hand with photoshop with the exception of a few orginal frames I had to throw in for consistency. The pain was when I output the frames to png format I had to change all the pictures file numbers by hand to get them in order, not once, or twice, but 6 times because of trial and error. I swear I can type adb commands in my sleep now as well lol.
Typing the correct numbering "animation_00001, animation_00002" and so on is a pain lol Looking forward to the need for speed challenge now
I have created an HD video of how it would look like on the phone. The Audio Might Slightly Be More Off Than It Should.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQHaHnQJmCs
Edit: Rebooted my phone and found out I did the audio wrong.
This is awesome.. Tried both with and without sound and it's sweet either way.. Prob gonna stay with the sound for now...

ok, noob questions. Is this flashable, if not how do I install it cause I'm loving it and want it BAD. Excellent work dude.
Been trying to flash this but I keep getting this message in recovery while trying to flash it "can't find update script". Anyone have any idea on this?
For those of you that like the colored status bar and notification icons that m00nman posted, you will be able to find them here from now on, since it seems he doesn't have the time or desire to keep them up to date. I plan on continuing to update these as weaponx also updates. I am by no means a developer or modder; this is my first "project" of this type and m00nman did most of the work so thanks to him. This is mostly for my own amusement and learning. If you have any problems or suggestions let me know and I'll do my best to address them.
Anyways, here is a flashable ZIP that will install the aforementioned icon pack to your weapon x 3.0 r1 ROM.
Thanks to jcbofkc for the zip, I didn't know how to make one until he provided it.
Let me know if you like it, a simple thanks will do!
Will give it a try. Thanks.

I am sure frescoraja or I could later today, but you can do it yourself using UOT kitchen. It is very easy to use. I am a complete novice when it comes to this stuff, but I was able to figure it out. You can change the battery to whatever look you prefer and keep everything else the same including the kick ass toggles. Under the battery option there is one that is green the majority of the time until it get low and tuns red.

I posted the same one from my post in the other thread. I thought that mine included the colored notification icons that yours has (minus the big alarm clock icon, and maybe a couple of others).. But now that I won't be using the g2x, I am going to change the OP to include your icons.
what i do is really simple, first I use 7zip or winrar to extract the apks from the zip files. Then I use apk manager to "unzip" the apk's and then just replace the png files in the weaponX rom apk with the corresponding png files from m00nman's apks. Then you "zip" it back up in apk manager (leave the apk unsigned because they are system apps), and then i just paste the new apks over the old apks in your zip archive.
I just got an HTC sensation as a warranty exchange for my g2x, so I probably won't be updating these any more. I think you're more than capable, jcbofkc but let me know if you have any questions.
In case any one is interested, in many ways i regret getting the sensation (qHD display looks like ****E compared to g2x's lcd, and the thing lags like crazy compared to the snappy g2x), but i know i can always sell it and buy another g2x with cash left over. The main benefit to the sensation is the amount of roms to choose from, and the HTC amaze's camera app has been ported to the sensation. If LG announces plans to update the g2x to Ice cream sandwich, I'll be back in a heartbeat.
Thanks frescoraja, I will keep the thread updated. Might even try a couple of other versions for those that want to keep their rom "as is" plus a little nicer status bar. I will see you again after the ICS update.
A thread for any questions that may arise for this new rom that has been released by RaverX3X
why is that sweet audiophile logo not on at the very least the bottom of the pulldown notification bar? That logo is too hot to not appear in that rom at least a few places

If I wanted to change the homescreen menu color scheme how would I go about that? Everything but it is easy to read, I just need the fonts to be darker.
Battery Problems
I just flashed this ROM yesterday. It seems that my battery wouldn't last longer than 12hrs on standby. Before I flashed this, I returned my phone to stock, so I am lost as to why I am having such short battery backup. My phone used to last around 26hrs, moderate use on Subtly Modified Stock with CWM and Lagfix ROM.
Does this mean that my phone still has them gremlins even if I have reflashed to stock ROM?
I love the rc2 icons, are they part of a complete set, possibly for ADW? This is my favorite ROM yet about the only thing that would perfect it for me would be if I could match the rest of my icons, at least the ones on my homescreen.

Okay first lets start off on saying i am not responsible for your phone messing up or looking different nor is anyone else that is your fault
none of these zips are signed unfortunately when i tried it keeped messing up BUT YOU DONT NEED THEM SIGNED!!
red voodoo cwm just install them
if on yellow cwm [main menu> install zip> signature check> disable] now look for the zip and installPlease note this will make your phone stuff blue like nexus jb 1.3.1
if anyone would like to sign them for me id really appreciate it

okay i am thinking about taking this theming thread one step further and (copy and paste other peoples theme into a flash)
if i do end up doing this i will try to get the basic colors ex green, blue, red, yellow, brown, black/white and pink for the ladies c; ahah
anyone have any suggestions on colors i should do first IF i do try?
p.s. if i do this the batterys will not be changed as it will take awhle putting each battery into each theme so i will recommend either suggesting what you want an ill upload it real fast or USING ROM TOOLBOX
Sounds like fun! You should consider learning how to use the kitchen for some relatively easy theming. It takes a little to get used to it but you caught on real quick so I'm sure you could learn this as well.
Maybe see if ricandroid has some free time (I know his busy with life right now) and see if he would work on a project with you, his theming skills are up there with the best of them!
If not what you plan sounds like it would be well liked, I could help you create an aroma package if you would like that can allow the user to pick which theme to which icon to whatever. Nice but of course the best way is to learn which xml files to edit and allow them to be done within the ROM, a lot more work bit doable.
