We are very excited to announce the release of Paranoid Android Quartz, based on Android 10.
On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhance the overall user experience. You can find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers and many more in the Abstruct app, included in our builds.
Our builds are based on the Code Aurora Forum Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features, performance, and stability. We are dedicated to providing a user experience with the stability that you can expect from stock ROMs with best-in-class performance and features to help you get the most out of your device.

Hi, this is my first time flashing custom rom on my Mi 9 SE, though i had experience from my previous devices.
Just asking to be sure, i would need to have TWRP flashed first right? And is there any other necessary tools that i need to flash, like firmware or anything?
And what do you mean by having firmware 11.0.2.0?
EDIT: I understand on the firmware question, i will have to flash 11.0.2.0 firmware, got it. But what is the flashing order?
Hi all,
Thanks for the work!
Somehow due to my inexperience I managed to softbrick my device (stuck at fastboot, fixable by reflashing miui image). So I have a couple of questions:
1. I am going from firmware 11.0.2.0 Europe (QFBEUXM). Does this require to start from another version of the firmware (Global for example)
2. The kernel needs to be flashed separately? Or is it included in the flash package.
Thanks.

Yes, you need to have custom TWRP (SHRP reocommended) wipe dalvik/cache/data/vendor/system, flash 11.0.2 and then flash rom and magisk

No it doesnt matter. Just flash twrp.img from adb and then required wipes, flash 11.0.2 + rom + magisk
kernel is already included.
Do you have a link for the required firmware?
Peace

Tried once more and didn't work (still stuck at fastboot). However, reading somewhere else I found out that when you come from a MIUI Rom (like stock) to AOSP you might need to flash also vbmeta. Tried that and it worked correctly.
So far no problems, great performance.

Could you write down the order of flashing that you used.
Thanks.
Nice ROM, smooth. The only minor "fault" I find is that fingerprint recognition for unlocking the phone isn't great. I usually have to put in the PIN code to unlock. I had this issue on Pixel Experience too. But otherwise all's good.
Peace

My flashing order when coming from stock MIUI 11.
1. Of course first unlock bootloader.
2. Flash TWRP from @redispade
3. Format Data from TWRP
4. Reboot to TWRP
5. Wipe dalvik/cache/data/vendor/system
6. Copy the ROM and firmware zip files to internal storage.
7. Flash the firmware zip
8. Flash the ROM zip
9. Reboot (it won't reboot to ROM, it will be stuck at flashboot)
10. Connect to the PC and from cmd flash vbmeta (fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img)
11. From cmd type the command "fastboot reboot" and finger's crossed, now you should see the boot screen.
As far as I remember this is what I did. I tried to recall it as much as I could however it was 4 in the morning.

I'll ask here as it seems far quieter than your Sirius thread. What are your plans now @rcstar6696? I asked you a while ago when you released PureNexus, Carbon and Lineage builds in your AOSP thread what you were going to be focusing on and your answer seemed to be "everything and nothing", haha. Have you given up on trying to (what would seem) single-handedly make the 3.10 kernel workable? Will you be looking to make yourself the official Lineage maintainer for the Sirius and Castor?

Hey the plan is not to stop 3.10 kernel but in the last few weeks i only worked on 3.4 kernel to make them stable
In lineage i hope i can be the maintainer for the devices but i can't maintain castor officially because you need to habe the device

Oh, my god, sorry. We were writing in the same time.
I wish you all the best with your exams.
Unfortunately I really need LTE connection, that's why I bought this tablet. Sure it was a big mistake, instead to buy something more XDA-Friendly. But you came in my help and I took it out from the drawer where it was dying with its lollypop, re-borning again thanks to you.
I think you are the only hope of every Z2 tablet owner. Please don't abandone us, ok?
Thanks and good luck.

Hello!
It's very nice to hear that Lineage is already available for Z2 tablet. Lot of thanks for as it is very nice work.
I have a question what maybe you can answer. My small daughter uses one Z2 tablet (WiFi only) and she uses the stock camera because the effects what Sony give us as plugins. Are there any possibilities to use any type of hacked Sony camera to maintain my daughter's requests and usage or I need to forget Lineage on her device or forget the Sony camera as there is no possibilities to work together.
Thanks for the answer in advance!

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Gerrit Code Review. Your changelog is whatever was merged into gerrit.

Kernel and GPL concerns
I'm actually not violating any GPL license due to the unreleased kernel source from Huawei.
The kernel used here, it's just the stock one without anykind of modification.
As the kernel sources will be released by our beloved Huawei Opensource department, it'll be added over here.

But before just remove your password and fingerprint of your actual rom.

Isn't it safer to Wipe Data / Cache via the Oreo No Check Recovery?, I heard that wiping or formatting Data via TWRP will have issues or something
As much as I wanted to try out these Treble ROMs, I'm still a bit unsure since there's a ROM where I need to flash the Stock recovery to wipe data and cache and this one doesn't require that
Also, is the signal still always low like in other Oreo ROMs?, or it's just an incorrect signal measuring?

For this rom just install zip that's it. Ye signal is average on every treble rom. Speedtest gave me similar results between emui 8 and treble roms, and I mostly use 4g so I don't mind just removed signal icon from status bar.

Great job, so is there any initial bug list? To know whats working and what's not before flashing the rom?
Btw can the future update be dirty flashed?

So far it's very stable and I've not really seen any bugs in the past 3 months or so. If you find any that would (not) be awesome!
In the future dirty flashing will be acceptable for updates.
Thanks for bringing pa to the kugo? What is the kernel version? Does it also have qc3 charging problem?

Thanks for the answer, how about lagging?(specially in games)
@harryharryharry's omnirom is pretty good so far except some micro lags specially in games are visible, in stock oreo (with root and everything) there was absolutely no lag whatsoever! Considering all the bloatwere in stock in comparison with aosp/omni
Do you mean one has to build the Sony open rom themselves and flash that first or just the binaries and kernel?

You only need to flash the binaries via fastboot.
Code:
fastboot flash oem (downloaded & extracted oem image)

I've just unlocked bootloader from stock rom, then I flashed oem V5, twrp. before Install PA rom
but it's too long to boot up so I back to stock for now. any help??
Do I need to put rom in external SD card first then format data before flash??

Initial boot will take a while to boot. It should however not take long on any subsequent boots, probably 15-20 seconds at most.
Still has a problem

so what can I do ? :crying:
Edit: I put rom in ext SD and format data ---> install from ext SD and its boot time around 3 min
bug : crash camera app, swipe up home button

Thank you very much! I have a question: does bluetooth work properly or the device disconnects randomly?
mSD card compatibility?
Does this ROM provide for the use of SDXC cards >32GB or only SDHC cards <=32GB?

First time installing crDroid to your K20 Pro, or coming from another ROM:
** Make sure you're running a proper working Recovery (CWM or TWRP)
1) Copy crDroid zip, gapps zip to your device
2) Boot into Recovery
3) Wipe cache, system, & data (or just cache & system for a dirty flash).
4) Flash ROM
8) Flash gapps
9) Boot up
For root, AFTER you boot into the ROM, you can go back to recovery and install Magisk XX.x (whatever is most recent).
Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.

Nice to see you finally made a thread here
For the european users that are wondering: Yes, this rom runs just fine on our EEA vendor, no need for any vendor flashings.
Oh and FYI: I flashed rom, gapps AND Magisk in OrangeFox in one go on my first install (without booting into system first) and everything worked fine anyway :victory:
Great rom with a nice amount of optimizations - keep up the great job (and don't forget to add our NFC :angel :good:

Yeah, that's a good question. The answer should go to OP as well.
Also, just to find out - when you take a picture with leanage / crdroid can you choose 12 mpix as output or is it only the default 48 mpix as the matrix gives?

No such issues here - todays build, dirty flashed over the last one and todays gapps + Magisk also flashed, all in 1 go. Wifi is turned on and working too, see screenshot :good:

OK, that's 1 thing I won't test, so don't even ask
Only thing I'd suggest is doing it again - wipe system, data, both caches and then flash rom, gapps, Magisk all in 1 go. That's how I did it the first time a few weeks ago and haven't had any issues yet.
Good luck :fingers-crossed:

I see that, unlike the unofficial version of this ROM from the other thread, this one requires flashing Chinese firmware, which does not work for my device at all. Can I dirty flash this version over the one I have, without flashing that Chinese firmware which bricks my phone every time I try using it?

Sorry, in order for the device to work properly, you must flash the vendor and firmware of V10.4.1.0, otherwise there will be problems with WiFi or Sound not working properly.

First of all, I don't think raphael (MI 9T Pro) can't flash raphaels firmware. Sorry, the current prebuilt vendor/kernel version, in order for the device's WiFi and sound to work properly, you must write the firmware and vendor of raphaels (Redmi K20 Pro Premium Edition), you can back up the data and try it.

The previous unofficial version also needs the corresponding firmware and vendor, but on raphael_global, this demand is not very obvious, but raphaels is a K20 Pro series phone released by Xiaomi, so the required firmware and vendor are old. Not applicable on the device

In order to be compatible with all the released series of raphael, I want to use raphaels' firmware and vendor is the best choice.
Mine is Raphael global (Mi 9T Pro), and the previous version of this ROM, apart from Xiaomi.eu Miui 10 and 11, were the only ROMs that worked for my device. All ROMs I've tried that require flashing Chinese stuff never booted on my device, leaving a black screen and removing Recovery access, forcing me to flash Fastboot stock.
Anyway, I don't see the need to try and soft brick my device again. And the previous version of this ROM is excellent. It's sad to see so many devs focusing only on one device and not advising about this soft brick. Anyway, good luck.

What exactly IS the difference between your crDroid and the previous unofficial that's in the correct section?
Like @kevinyohh I am using the other one without issues and I won't flash a vendor on my EEA device that's not made FOR my device.
I don't understand why so many roms require a potentially disruptive vendor cross flash, while others like the previous crDroid work just fine without it

Our device IS raphael - same device, 5 different vendors ... yet some roms work just fine on the global/EEA versions.
The other crDroid was built by an indian dev, yet it didn't require any vendor cross flashing. Chances are that those of us on global/EEA vendors and the old version will not be able to update to this one

I didnt download this ROM, but if it has dtbo.img inside to flash, that is problem if phone goes to soft brick.
only mi logo, then shut down, no access to twrp.
solution could be if we save original dtbo.img from miui firmware, and then reflash with fastboot.
i had same problem with MSM-X ROM, as it has dtbo.img, and with stock miui it cant boot.
maybe it can boot with miui xeu if install before rom, didnt try
Why is it written unofficial in title when the same rom is present in https://crdroid.net/raphael website officially.

Older versions of vendor/firmware will not work properly on raphaels, so I have to use raphaels' vendor/firmware to make all raphael compatible (according to my tests, using raphaels firmware on China raphael is no problem) I am now skeptical May be raphaels' dtbo/vbmeta is not compatible with raphael_global/eea

I don't have dtbo.img in my crdroid, but there is dbbo.img of raphaels in my firmware rom. I think the problem that raphael_global/eea can't be brushed into raphaels firmware is on dtbo.img.

I don't know what causes the problems, I just know that cross-flashing vendors CAN cause issues.
Can you compare your build to the previous one(s) in the other thread to maybe narrow it down? Those builds definitely worked on global/EEA vendor, without the need to flash another one :good:

If I use the old vendor and firmware, then raphaels will not work properly, so I can only use rapalels firmware to adapt to all known raphael devices. I have now uploaded firmware that does not contain dtbo and vbmeta, you can try .
