Hello, after reading the guides to restore the smartphone (https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-8/how-to/op8-unbrick-tool-to-restore-device-to-t4085877) I have some Doubts. Let's suppose that I have a Chinese version (IN2010) that had HydrogenOS and OxigenOS (global version) has been installed. If I wanted to restore the smartphone to the global version because I have a brick, what firmware should I use?
Thanks

It would be the international firmware IN21AA
I flashed IN21AA without issues. Wiped device via fastboot -w and everything works fine.

can you verify widevine version? I have IN2010, I unlocked the Bootloader, rooted, lost Widevine L1, then I relocked Bootloader, and got L1 back, but fingerprint broken, to fix that I tried few things, but now I've lost Widevine L1. so what version of Widevine you have?

Hi, Do you think you can share your persist.img file? I've also IN2010 so maybe it will help me fixing my fingerprint issue.
Thanks

Hi everyone.
I'm just bought a new Mi MIX3, its global variant and pre-installed with MIUI Global 10.0.11.0 PEEMIFH.
I want to root my new phone so i can put some modification on it. But anyone can confirm that the TWRP, magisk version that work on CN variant work on my phone or not?
If not, what method should i use for root? I'm only need root atm so TWRP is not matter.
I'm not new to Xiaomi or android phone, just wonder because no global fastboot rom available atm, so i afraid cannot unbrick my phone with miflash in case anythings goes wrong.
Thanks.

Can't root global yet.
It's almost impossible to brick, If you manage it and somehow manage to not get into twrp then fastboot the Chinese one without locking bootloader.
Once that's done flash twrp, flash global zip again

Hmm, okay, since very little ppl here own global unit, i'll test on my phone with different method and see which is working for global variant.
Any idea where a global zip can be found?

I'm new to the world of Xiaomi, so I appreciate any help in this matter if you can!
Since you say that you can't root the global version yet, is it safe to assume that the TWRP that's available will definitely not work? I'm near certain it won't, but just want 100% clarity.
I just purchased a global variant of the Mi MIx 3 and am eagerly awaiting to root/install Magisk. I'm glad YouTube vanced and GCam doesn't require root, but I do want a center clock more than anything. If we get TWRP/Magisk to work, can I install the center clock module that's found on this thread without any issues? I hope there won't be too many issues with flashing modules between the global/eu/chinese versions.
Cheers! I can't wait for my Mix 3 to arrive.

I think root now works on phones that ship with global so just need to install twrp and flash magical. Just take backups etc.
Chinese to global seems to cause the root issue. Might be different now just not tested it.
Modules should work ok
After testing and research, this is the root tutorial for MIX 3 global edition, please remember that this is for global edition, not china edition. Please check carefully that your phone is truly global, not china with global rom pre-installed by seller.

Not true because China Mix 3 run perfectly Global rom.
The problem is rooting that.
And afaik there is no difference between models. At least on system specs screen.

Welp, trying to get into TWRP has caused me to bootloop. I screwed up a thing or two and now I need to learn how to use MiFlash to somehow flash a Chinese ROM so I can get into TWRP to flash an EU ROM. I originally was aiming to flash an EU ROM coming from the global ROM, that may have led me to screw something up eventually.
I'm glad fastboot still works. Just learning of the world of Xiaomi now.. I have to admit, there's a lot I didn't know about EDL and what not. I'll be using the 6T until I can figure out how to get things back up and running I guess.

Which ROM exactly? I mean.. I try to sideload the EU ROM and it doesn't let me. I can actually sideload Arrow or Pixel Experience but then get stuck in bootloop again.
Appreciate any help!

What happens when you try and install the EU rom by copying it to twrp then flashing it instead of sideloading it?

When you say ADB I'm assuming you mean fastboot command line as you don't need ADB for twrp.

Hello,
Could you confirm me or not that for last two Android Pie firmware DRM Fix doesn't exist? Recently I have backup my TA and with XperiFix I got functional OREO with widevine L1. No errors in Security (service menu) after that. Of course I restore my TA.
Next I flashed one of recent Pie and I have a problem with keys. Widevine is only level 3 and security tab has many errors. I found some patched kernels from janjan but not for current software. I flashed kernel which hide bootloader status that it doesn’t help. Maybe someone has idea why?

Use this kernel by shoey63 (flash in twrp, flash magisk after and reboot).
Its built from latest .107 sources, and has double tap to wake included. To activate the double tap to wake, install the module linked and reboot.
Im assuming you have g8141, if you need the g8142 kernel, let me know.
Hi. Thanks for reply. I have G8142. Could you provide me version for dual sim?

No problem, same as above, flash the kernel in twrp, and then magisk v(whatever) and reboot.
Thanks a lot! My problem was related with not fully flashed Pie firmware by Newflasher. I flashed with Flashtool and now everything is ok. But your answer was helpful too all the best for you!

No, the kernels are for people who have a ta backup, and yeah, xperifix died on Oreo.
I want to install the global ROM version on my oneplus chinese version (IN2010). When I read the forums about the conversion, it's suggested to copy the persist.img on my PC. But to copy the persist, i must be rooted. I didn't find an rooting method for the IN2010. There is one? or can I take rooting method for other versions? Is there anyone who successfully rooted his IN2010?
Thanks in advance

If you want to format your data, just Factory reset the phone. But as you know, since you want to format your data, all your data will be lost.
I may have missed the point so can you clarify what you hear by "format data"

Same doubt here. If you don't backup persist.img you still have possibilities to break fingerprint sensor if updated from settings > local upgrade > ".zip package"? @narkun1029
OnePlus 8 Verizon Bootloader is now unlockable. If anyone is installed Coloros on his op8 then please share you experience.
I'm doing it right now, for the fact. I'll attempt to install it and get back to you ASAP.
Update: Cellular data does not work for whatever reason. I'm pretty sure the Verizon variant just isn't compatible...

You can't even install it; I did exactly as the ColorOS guide suggested but the update still failed verification even though I was on the EU ROM. In any case, you won't be getting cellular data at all, likely because of the modem.img, and it's quite unoptimized.

I followed the conversion guide for the T - Mobile model that also works for the Verizon one. You also won't be getting cellular data if you switch to a global/ EU ROM. Other than that, it works fine.
Did you tired to relock your bootloader. I relocked my bootloader but its still showing device is not certified in play store.

I used MSMTool to restore; I'm not sure about the Google Play certification (I still get OTA updates from Verizon), so something is still working on my end.

I used the Android 11 one. We'll just have to wait until Verizon pushes the OOS 12 update (seems to be quite soon, as they recently released a security update).

Hello!
I lost my warp charge with the new H41 update so with that gone my phone is totally useless.
I want to do a rollback and from what I ve heard/experienced A10 was the best OS.
Can I roll back from A12 to A10?
If the answer is no, how would I go to A12 to A11 and then A10?
Thank you in advance

Hi, yes it is possible. You have to download the firmware for your android 10 device and I also have to warn you that you will lose all the data on your phone and I think you will also have to have an unlocked bootloader to downgrade but I am not sure.
