Hello everyone,
First of all thanks for being such a great community. I've been a silent reader for a while (since the HTC M7) and am amazed by the community
Now, I can't cope with being stuck on this issue anymore so I turn to you for ideas.
The situation:
I have a dual sim 128gb HTC U11 (I got it in Hong Kong but I assume it's the India version as per the build numbers I've been through and the CID is 060)
S-ON
Bootloader Unlocked
Stock 2.42.400.2 Firmware
TWRP Recovery
Magisk root
So a fairly simple setup.
The issue: We're in 2020 and I'm on Android 8.0.0. Checking for updates doesn't show anything at all although there are already updates
2.42.400.2 -> 2.42.400.6
2.42.400.6 -> 2.42.400.7
2.42.400.7 -> 3.35.400.1 (this is my goal, at least be on Android 9
So usually to update or apply an OTA which I would download from androidfilehost or another source here in a topic I would
1. Uninstall root from within the Magisk app
2. Flash stock recovery for my version back on
3. Put the OTA zip file on an microsd card and pop it in
4. update via stock recovery "apply update from sd"
Now that sadly didn't work. I tried adb sideloading the OTA zip file, but came to the same result below: (I had to hand type it off the screen so excuse any typos)
Code:
E:Failed to parse build number in post-build-incremental=1011554.6

E:eek:riginal error message E1000: is set, why set another again?
E1000: system partition has unexpected contents
E:Error in /sideload/package.zip (Status 7)

Any help is appreciated. I tried searching the forums for solutions but couldn't the same case.
Thanks and stay healthy everyone!

How to’s = DEAD ENDS or Road Blocks for my G2. PLEASE HELP!!
Let me just start from the beginning...
1st off..what I WAS running / am running or currently have on G2 :
Clockworkmod V3.0.0.5 (Was running Cyanogen Mod 7 RC1 when the crash and problems started)
VISION PVT SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-0.82.0000
MICROP-0425
RADIO-26.03.02.26_M
EMMC-boot
Sept 2 2010 17:59:38
Okay, a few weeks ago I used ADB to manually achieve S-OFF. Was not able to achieve S-OFF thru terminal emulator, kept having su-bin issues. After S-OFF I successfully downloaded CyanogenMod 7. Flashed the new rom just fine and was running well until I started doing some downloading on the Market of different CyanogenMod Live Wallpapers / widgets, etc. After a certain download, phone froze, I rebooted and at start up I was only able to get the white HTC screen.
This is when the research on the forums and the” how to’s” began…
Booted in recovery and error message is as follows :
ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.0.5
E: Can’t mount /cache/recovery/command
E: Can’t mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Can’t open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can’t mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can’t open /cache/recovery/last_log
**YES I did back everything up after I achieved S-OFF, so not sure why having this issue.
Reading more forums and others who have had similar issues I then concluded it would be best to try and downgrade back to stock rom with no success. Issues / error messages are as followed :
Downloaded the stock_root.zip from forum and put on root of sd card, when I try and install zip from sd card in CWM phone is reading the following :
Finding update package…
Opening update package…
Installing update…
Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported. Amend scripting was deprecated by Google in Android 1.5. It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to ClockworkMod 3.0 gingerbread based recovery. Please switch to Edify scripting (update-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages.
Installation aborted.
So then tried the PC10IMG.zip in CWM and am getting the following error messages :
--Installing /sdcard/PC10IMG.zip
Finding update package
E: Can’t open /sdcard/PC10IMG.zip (bad)
Installating aborted
Last try was applying the update.zip file from forum to root of sd card and when trying to install that in CWM I am getting the following :
Finding update package
Opening update package
Installing update package
File_getprop: failed to stat /system/build prop
E: Error in/sdcard/update.zip (Status 7)
Installation aborted.
EVERYTHING KEEPS FAILING!! LAST couple things…

**** HELP HELP HELP please, someone..! I am about to just call insurance and order a new phone but that’s $130.00 I DO NOT HAVE!! I am still a bit new to this, this is my first g2 and a newbee to Android, love it, but please bear with me here! THANKs in Advance for reading and advice / help!
try updating clockwork mod
also how did you root your g2 when it has .82000 hboot
i cant find an hboot that will work with .82000
(visionary method)
I have a Galaxy S4 (SGH-M919V) which is the Canadian Variant (Wind/Mobilicity). I used Cyanogenmod Installer and it identified my phone as jfltecan (Canadian Variants) which is good, it got my phone rooted and CM on it but it was KitKat and CM didn't support Lollipop on jfltecan.
Therefore, I manually flashed a jfltetmo (T-Mobile) nightly-may-1st which is similar to SGH-M919V by opening up the script update file and getting rid of the "assert" code that checks if you have the correct phone and correct file. I have SGH-M919V phone and jfltetmo file. was successful and got 5.1.1 Lollipop and my sim working. Few days later, now there's multiple nightlies and I try to use the built in updater to get the most recent nightly. I download it and tap to install it, it takes me to CWM recovery, and displays the following. (Problem #1)
Finding update package...
E: unknown volume for path [@/cache/recovery/block.map]
E: Can't mount @/cache/recovery/block.map
Installation aborted.
Rebooting...
That didn't work but I had that installation zip file downloaded therefore I went to recovery and manually installed it, is displayed the following. (Problem #2)
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
This package is for device: jfletmo, jflte; this device is jfltecan.
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
The status 7 can be fix by opening up the script update file and removing "assert" code but I don't want to do that for every nightly I will install. Can anyone help me to a solution to problem 1 and 2 or at least one of them. I would really absolutely appreciate it. Thank You.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. I suppose you could edit your build.prop on your device to show the product and device that's listed in the assert line of the rom's updater.script. But be careful as flashing stuff not for your specific device can brick it.

Ok, so I have a:
Proscan PLT9609G
Android v 4.4.2
Kernel v 3.0.36+ [email protected] #150 Wed Sep 24 22:23:18 CST 2014
Build # KTU84P.20140924.215542.V001
Bootloader: 2.13
(I'm not sure what "Build Fingerprint" is, but here you go)
PROSCAN/PLT9609G/PLT9609G:4.4.2/KTU84P/20140924.215542.V001 :user/test-keys
(If the above is the same as firmware version, then that's the firmware, if not, I don't know where to find it)
I have looked all over the place, and there seems to be nearly ZERO information on this device.
I've managed to get into recovery, where it says:
"Android system recovery <3e>
KTU84P test-keys".
Beneath that, it lists the usual:
reboot system now
apply update from ADB
apply update from external storage
update rkimage from external storage
apply update from cache
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
recovery system from backup
I downloaded what I believe to be the full version of Android 4.4.4 ("full-4.4.4-20141025-signed.zip"), threw it on an external SD & tried to install it from there. I selected "apply update from external storage".
It says:
"Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted."
AAAnnnnnddddd..... boom. I'm done. I realize that this isn't the forum for support. I just wanted to give as much information as possible to help you, to help me. If the next step is for me posting in another forum on here, just let me know which. ....or if you have the ability to simply "move" this post, that works, too!
My end goal is to update it to at least 4.4.4. Having it rooted with a custom recovery? WAY better.
I'm just losing my mind trying to figure this out. Any help you can provide, would leave me eternally grateful!!
Thanks to anyone and everyone, in advance.
Hello,
Welcome to XDA.
I'm not finding anything specific for your device here at XDA for flashing stock firmware.
Do a Google search for:
"How to update PLT9609G"
Or
"4.4.4 for PLT9609G"
If you don't know how to flash the firmware then search for:
"How to flash stock firmware on PLT6909G"
That should give you links to the tools, files and instructions for flashing the device if they exist.
Try posting your question in the forum linked below.

The experts there may be able to help. Good luck.
Hi,
I want to root a karbonn sparkle v, what is running android 6.0.1
I started android my wife one toolkit 1.2.1 then press list devices, then root. It said copying update.zip to androd. Then it rebooted, I see the now (temporary) bootloader, it said select the update.zip but I does not find on the sdcard. So I changed to apply update from adb, then on the pc I searched the update.zip used adb sideload update.zip command. Then it seems it is installedd successfully. But after that point I cannot boot sparkle v anymore. It stopps at the beginning where the circles spinning.
I tried to download sp flash tool, and flash a stock firmware, but the flastool does not recognize my wifes phone (as it does not recognize my working phone).
I can access the stock recovery (vol up+power) and then select recovery, then i can access the android recovery, i downloaded the 015427.zip copyed to the sdcard. Select Apply update from SD card. It wites:
PHP:
Supported API: 3
-- Install /sdcard/update.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
Can't install this package (Thu Sep 24 22:31:53 URC 2015) over newer build (Tue Mar 29 23:27:39 UTC 2016).
E:Error in /sideload/package.zip

What can I do to make the phone working again?

Please help me as im having same trouble. please provide steps on how to install cynogen mode. Im new to these development.
I had the same problem, i used Android One Toolkit, and my sparkle V was stuck with boot looping for around 2-3 hrs. I then tried to use SP flash tool to flash it with android 4.4.2 available. However, in switched off mode, my phone was not detected. And it took me to install few drivers (some around 7-8) that i found after searching the google! And SP tool was somehow able to detect after that. I am not sure which one driver actually worked. It took some 10 minutes to flash once the phone was detected by the SP tool. Thus, i suggest you try with few drivers that are available and wait until your phone is recognized by the computer.
I used my SD card as internal drive in my phone. Maybe that was the problem while working with Android One Toolkit. As it required a SD card to use the update.zip. Probably it was not recognized as SD card anymore as my SD card was configured as internal storage. That is my guess why i got stuck with boot looping.

Hi folks,
I'm a relatively tech-savvy individual of the elder generation. I recently acquired a secondhand HTC One M8 on eBay (well, its one of a number, as gifts) but I'm having trouble with the OTA update from Android 4.4.4 (KitKat?) failing to be updated to 4.21.512.4 via my Virgin Mobile's SIM. To complicate matters, I'm away from home, in Sofia Bulgaria, but I do have a relatively fast Internet connection here and roaming privileges.
When the update is successfully downloaded I get a screen saying:
Install now
Install later
Don't install
If I select Install now, i get the rooted(?) bootloader(?) which announces itself as TeamWin 3.0.0-1 gives me a set of 8 buttons:
Install - Wipe
Backup - Restore
Mount - Settings
Advanced - Reboot
This is unknown to me, but if I just hit the Install button I get failure messages:

OK, I've realised that the Team Win 3.0.0-1 menu is in fact TWRP (DOH!) and have updated that to the latest release and also installed Titanium Backup Pro,so I am all ready to make an update, but the failure message is still the sticking point. How/where do I get/put this signature (file?)?
