Yesterday morning I started seeing permanent media (play / pause / skip) notifications from 3 of my apps.
They all got updated in background the day before via Play Store.
To get rid of them I have to force close the apps. After some time to come up again.
Whenever I restart the phone all 3 of them are back.
Does anyone know what could cause this?
Same here for Tunein, I suspected that it was because of the apk itself since I updated it recently

Hello
Ever since the Google Play Services update from a week or so ago I get this continuous notification. Does anyone know how to stop it? I updated to the latest G.P.S. from a few days ago and it still there. I do not have Wear installed or a AW device (yet) and Bluetooth is always off. It can't be dismissed and clicking it doesn't nothing.
Anyone else getting this?
bump
anyone else has gotten this message pop up?
I'm having this problem as well. I previously had a moto 360 which I sold and I then uninstalled the app. Probably around the same time as you, I started getting the notification (I noticed it coincided with a google play services update as well) but this was long after I had uninstalled the android wear app.
I can't turn off bluetooth, otherwise my pebble would be useless, so that isn't a solution for me (though it sounds like that doesn't work anyway). Long pressing on the notification to bring up app info tells me the Google Play services is the app responsible for the notification. Rebooting the phone gets rid of the notification temporarily but it always seems to come back.
I've just tried clearing the cache for g p s and rebooted so I will have to wait and see if it comes back.
A search of the android wear subreddit shows three people there have had the same issue so that makes 5 of us (or 4 if you are one of them), but no solution.
It's hard to tell how much it has impacted my battery but google play services is right at the top of the list for battery usage on my phone lately
Has anybody experienced this? I do not have power saver on. I'm on the August 1 security patch for the G930U.
Here is the scenario:
- Play a song through Spotify
- Click the home button (media controls will appear in notifications when Spotify is in the background)
- Pause or stop the song from notifications (don't hit the x in the media controls notification)
- Let phone sit with Spotify on pause
- Eventually, the media controls will disappear from the notifications as if the phone automatically shut down the Spotify app, which is fine.. but..
- Play a song through Spotify again
- Click the home button (media controls will NOT appear in notifications)
The only way to fix this for me has been to open up the recents app menu and swipe it away, then open Spotify again. Extremely annoying.
I have been having this issue as well on my LG G4, almost the exact same symptoms you have. I have tried all the re-installation tricks and factory resetting my phone. After some spotify forum digging I think other users have this issue and its an app based issue. I am 75% sure of it, but know one has had a definite answer to why this happens so I can't say for sure its the app and not Android
I'm having the same problem in a OnePlus X, thought it was something about latest Marshmallow update. I don't think this happen in Lollipop, but.. who knows.
I have had this issue from time to time, but have not noticed it in the last couple days since installing the latest beta (6.5.0.1795) from the XDA Labs app. It hasn't been long enough for me to say for sure it's fixed, but it's worth a shot. Try it out and report back on if you're able to reproduce the issue with the beta version.
Having the same problem on the S7. Latest stable version of Spotify and on latest software.
Hey Guys,
A few weeks ago (not exactly sure of the time) I started getting a lot of prompts for Google Chrome and Play Services using a lot of power. It's the white box that pops up on screen, lists the apps, and gives the options to check again in a week or fix now. I keep hitting fix now, and after a couple days, sometimes later that day, I get the same alert. If I pull down the system bar, it's the Device Maintenance panel and I can tap on fix from there.
I've uninstalled play services patches, and reinstalled. I've uninstalled chrome and reinstalled, but that doesn't seem to have done anything. I had a prompt to install the new Tmo patch (12/10/2017 ish) which I installed hoping that might fix the problems, but it didn't.
Just wondering if anyone on Tmo with the S8+ has recently had any apps starting to go crazy and constantly being bombarded with "device fix" popups. Would booting to recovery and wiping cache help?
Galaxy S8+
T-Mobile
Stock - Updated with carrier push (12/10/2017)
No mods, no root, etc.
Thanks,
Sin.
New to OnePlus and loving the phone.
Just noticed today every now and then I get a Lockscreen notification from Android System but not been quick enough to see it properly yet. I think it's Google Play Services is using GPS. Play services states last entry was over 13 hours ago but a notification came up around 15 mins ago.
When I look in the Notification Tab in settings it's only usual culprits there. Google Play Store, Whatsapp etc but doesnt show anything from the system itself.
Not a biggie at all but curious where it's coming from and wether I can disable that. Tried to disable play store.
Thanks
BTW - Who would have thought that to use vibrate only would involve a slider (what I get for not reading the instructions!!!!!! )
I have a non-T-Mobile Oneplus 7 Pro running on AT&T. 8GB RAM, 256 storage.
I've done a plain upgrade, had these problems, and still seen them after a full wipe and reinstall from backup and after a will wipe followed by manually reinstalling apps:
1) UI sounds inexplicably stop playing even though volume is still turned up. Sounds come back and play normally if I restart.
2) Dark theme partially goes away, switches back to light.
3) Zedge completely disappeared from Play store. Only way I was able to get it back was to side-load.
4) (this goes along with #1) Some app notification sounds mysteriously stop playing even though they are still designated, they act as if there's no volume.
5) (not sure if this is a bug or expected behavior) App notifications play through Android Auto - prior to the upgrade the sound would lower momentarily but I never heard notification sounds.
6) Android Auto not showing in app tray but works when plugged into vehicle - go figure?
Anyone else seeing these issues?
