I tried rooting the phone with a couple of one click methods available on the xda. it failed and also my wifi was not working. I did all the tricks i.e. factory reset, wlan test, flight mode but the wifi did not work. Then i updated my phone thru kies and now it is running android 4.0.4 but still wifi shows turning on error, bluetooth too is not working. Pls Help.
The wifi issue I have noticed on every device that had any version of ics below 4.0.5. Bluetooth seemed to have issues at first when coming from an upgrade, so I had to delete my devices and re-pair. It corrected any issues I had with Bluetooth.

I've encountered a problem that I'm thoroughly convinced no one can help me fix (mostly due to the amount of time I've already put into seeking a fix). I recently rooted my phone, and it worked, but now I am starting to experience problems. I used VRoot to root the phone. All of the problems I'm experiencing happened after an attempt to boot my phone into recovery mode using the ROM Manager application.
PHONE INFORMATION
Model # - VS870 4G
Firmware - 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean)
Kernel version - 3.4.0-g2696711 [email protected]
Build # - JZO54K
Software version - VS87012A
Issue 1:
My phone no longer connects to wi-fi. Upon selecting the connection and inputting the pass-code the phone only saves the connection but makes no attempts to connect. It can't possibly be the router that is causing the issue because the phone was able to connect flawlessly before I tried booting into recovery mode.
Issue 2:
My phone's status is currently "Rooted" but it doesn't behave like a rooted phone. When attempting to install applications that require root, the applications insist on informing me that my phone is indeed not rooted. When attempting to re-install lost applications after the numerous amount of hard resets I've done, the applications are shown to be already installed yet they are nowhere to be found on the phone.
Issue 3:
Even after installing the updated USB drivers (and multiple re-installs) any computer I plug the phone into refuses to recognize the phone if it is in Emergency mode, yet it is still recognizable in the default mode.
Issue 4:
In order to install apps, I have to download the .apk file because my phone will not connect to Google Play even when I'm directly connected to the internet via usb or using 4G. Various other applications that require an internet connection refuse to work as well which is making the troubleshooting process extremely frustrating.
Fixes I tried -
Reboot, hard reset, battery/SIM/SD removal, selecting the "Avoid poor connections" option, reset router, re-setup wireless connection (tried without a pass as well), switching the IP setting to "Static" (doesn't allow me to select connect if it is on static), toggled the 802.11g only mode, toggled the routers DHCP server option, unrooting phone (SuperUser deems it impossible due to the lack of a su binary, which I don't understand seeing that when the phone is in emergency mode the status of the phone is "Rooted"), installing a stock firmware install via KDZ, as well as failed attempts to manually install CWM (my purpose of trying to manually install CWM is due to a lot of the fixes I found having "being able to boot in recovery mode" as a requirement, which my phone lacks)
So here is/are my question(s):
If I'm not able to unroot the phone, is taking the phone to a manufacturer no longer an option?
Is there a way to "reset" the wireless hardware/software on the device directly that works around my current issues?
Are there any alternatives to installing the KDZ stock firmware file where the device isn't required to be in Emergency mode?
I'm still not exactly sure what a su binary is but is there a way to install it independently?
Thanks in advanced~
And the intricate thesis pattern.

Hi, I'm using win 7/32 and I did not need usb drivers. We restarted the windows, in F8 I turned off checking the drivers' signatures and then started the windows. On the phone I enabled the developer options and the usb troubleshooter. Then I plugged the usb cable (on) to the computer. It will start downloading and installing the drivers. You have to run all the options for connecting the phone to the computer (usb configuration), from simple loading to MTP, PTP and MIDI. When all the drivers have been installed, restart the computer and turn off the phone. At me, (Cubot x 18), I have not removed any battery, neither sims nor microsd. Just with the phone off. When you restart your computer, start the sp flash tool, choose MT6737T_Android_scatter for what you need, choose the option and activate it, and finally plug the phone off to your computer. From now on, everything has to go ... That's the method I use. I was frankly amazed that she was running without a battery in the phone; and all the way to him, just stopped.

Hello, I think you need to set a new APN. To do this, you must go into Settings-Wireless & networks-More-Cellular networks-Access Point Names. At the top of the bar you will have to press "+" and you will need to configure the new APN according to the mobile phone operator from which you have the SIM card you are using. Once configured, you'll need to save and check it as an asset, the one that your phone will use. That's all. And there would be something else. At my side, I can not catch 4G, it gives me connection error. So I set it on 3G, from -preferred network type. Hope to help.

Thanks mate. The correct apn had been set and it shows 4g connection at the top but simply refuses to connect to mobile data. It all says its switched on etc. When I type +*+*4636*+*+ into dialer screen to bring up phone settings it is there that it says mobile data disconnected and it simply will not switch on.
I've also factory reset the phone and it won't connect to mobile data then either. When I try to change the radio band it crashes.

Wi-fi going? Perhaps there is something on / off in your phone that limits your access to your mobile data network (billing cycle, data usage, roaming, or anything like that). Frankly, my knowledge is limited, I do not know what else it could be. If wi-fi works, try updating it, you may be lucky.

Thanks mate. Nah me neither. WiFi does work but no joy with mobile. There's no update available and a factory reset never cleared it. I think the issue lies with the radio band. It simply crashes the application whenever I try to access it.
Not receiving incoming calls when in VoLTE
Since my carrier is activating VoLTE through its network
I cannot receive incoming calls. If my phone receives only the 4G signal (without VoLTE) the phone works perfectly. I tried another sim card of the same carrier...same issue! If I put on the phone a sim card from another carrier it works fine, but I think this carrier is not using VoLTE yet. Using the *#*#4636#*#* menu I switched off "provisioning VoLTE" option...but after a few seconds it turns on again automatically. I do not know yet if the problem is linked to my phone, carrier or a problem on Android. Does anybody can help me? Thanks in advance
PS: my phone is running native Android 7.0 and it is updated with the latest firmware version
Try a drastic solution. Reflash your phone. The problems are with MTK firmware structures, MTK firmwares usually results in lost IMEI or NVRAM issues.
I am a fan of anything MTK phablets, tablets, phones and owned mostly Lenovos about 7 devices, all rooted with TWRP. My advise is to reflash the phone (since we already have the firmware), if it doesnt work the first time after reflash , you probably need to reflash a few more time and you will find that after every reflash there will be random functions and apps broken (after the next reflash the functions and apps are OK but others broken) until you will have all 100% OK. That is my experience with MTK SoC.
Good Morning!
Can you tell me if this procedure works on the new model, the P20? Uses Oreo 8.0.0 with Kernel 3.18.60 ...
Thank you very much
Me too

Hello guys,
I've the same problem with my X18. Everything works fine. My SIM is active and registered and in the notification bar there is a 4G-icon, I can make some calls, receive SMS and so on. But if I use mobile data, the connection will be interruped after few minutes and in the settings dialog the SIM card is disabled.
Reboot, changing SIM slot takes no effectes. This error is reproduceable.
The device has 3 APN-Settings. Is there any oppurtunity to delete these settings, so that I can receive new APN from my provider or to define it manually?
Best regards
Dan
Good review thanks..

Check that everything is correct:
Unlock bootloader
https://new.c.mi.com/global/post/101245
https://en.miui.com/unlock/index.html
and ignore the error.
Bind your Xiaomi account to your phone. Tap Mi Unlock status » Agree » Add account and device. Make sure your device can connect to the internet using mobile data.

"Connect to network and try again" while mobile internet is working OK - tried to log out and log in again many times, even tried : fastboot oem unlock - and then in cmd it says - not possible - locked phone
So basically the developer options in android 10 in POCO f1 (miui 12 global) in the MI unlock status - add account and device - > cant adde hone there..
FInd phone is working OK, I just checked all options that I found here in xda for - registered also new MI account , wiped old one and ..the same.

seen and did Your tutorial many times - never passed through :
5. Link the device to your Mi account in Settings > Additional settings > Developer options > Mi Unlock status
as
Connect to .. and try again - while Mobile data is OK.
Seems like servers are not allowing me to connect to them.
My phone is also after reset to factory default - by the fact I did fastboot lock > and then I restored phone - but nothing changed -> seems like bug in Miui 12 OR servers not allowing to add device and account to procedure of unlocking (I am from EU)

Check here that the phone appears and that everything matches.
Several unsuccessful attempts can block the procedure.
Preferably use your email address linked to the account rather than the phone number.
A factory reset can be useful (not 100% guaranteed).
Edit:
Following your previous post, this may come from your mobile provider and/or your plan or from Xiaomi (similar case with a poco X3 nfc).
i can see many people nowadays have this probem even with new poco f3...

my simcard had one number - temporary one, then I was moving number from other provider to this recent one, and my simcard has this my omved number now for many months.. but is is usual normal procedure when moving from one to other operator. curently mi account receives sms etc from my number and it worked/works, the temp number is not available for smsm confirmations.
solved:
Steps to fix:
1. Change Region Settings to Singapore (Settings App -> Additional Settings -> Region -> Singapore)
2. Use a Singapore VPN (Don't disconnect the VPN till the end.)
3. Log out from your Mi Account
4. Click on create an account, make sure your VPN is still connected and choose Country/Region to Singapore and create a new mi account
5. Go to Mi Unlock Status and it should work now
These are the steps which I followed to get this issue fixed. Tell me if it works for you.
Mi Unlock Status | Connect to network and try again
I have already tried to just unlock the bootloader without the mi unlock status but i got an error that I can't unlock without doing that... you should try to connect your phone to mi account on phone some times, then connect to pc and it will work
