Dear XDA Community,
Recently, I have decided to flash custom ROM on my Pocophone F1 and I came across this useful forum, so as a new member of this community, I would like to ask a couple of questions. My first question is regarding ROM suggestions. I came across LineageOS, Evolution X and Pixel ROM. Out of those suggestions, Pixel ROM seemed to be the most friendly to me, but thee are a couple of different versions. There is Pixel Experience, its plus edition and then you also have Pixel ROM which is developed by someone else. So, what are the differences? Does one provide additional features, security or more frequent updates?
And my other question is about choosing custom recovery. From what I have seen, most people use TWRP, but there are other ones such as OrangeFox and so on. I could not find much difference, but are there any advantages of using one over the other? Or are there any better options? Thank you in advance.

Hey guys, I'm just wondering what the stablest, most vanilla ROM for the HTC One S is. I used to have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus that recently died on me, so I picked up the One S while is was on sale for $180. I'm trying to get this phone as close to stock Android as possible. I've done flashes before, and I'm fairly competent at following tutorials, so that shouldn't be much of an issue. There are just an overwhelming amount of ROMs by different developers that I don't know which to pick.
Moved to Q&A as this is a question. Closed as best ROM threads are not allowed.
I understand that this is a development forum but since it's strictly about Exynos I posted here.
There has been great work regarding development for this awesome device. I've now tried many options from many different developers ... and to be honest its become a little confusing as to what is best and why. Realizing there is a lot of personal preference:
Can we have some users chime in (even if this thread is moved) especially for newer users what they prefer and more importantly why ... options, speed, battery, ease of use, etc
Should be posted in General Discussion.

Thank you and I understand your opinion but since the majority of Exynos users cone to this forum I can promise it won't have any value of posted there.
It may get moved but I can assure you nobody will even look at it there
It's all good, so try it all. If you don't want to try it, you shouldn't be on xda(mostly the wrong section),just stick to what Samsung gave you originally.

I completely understand why people would ask the question. I simply don't have the time to try all the ROMs. Setting one up to have it the way I like takes ~2 hours. This also doesn't take into account research into the ROM and troubleshooting issues (both user and ROM related) that come up - I need my phone to be useful.
Generally, S7/S7 Edge based ROMs are most stable, S8 and Note 8 ports have newest Samsung features, AOSP is Nexus and Pixel like and can have newest Android features (but lose Samsung features). All of them can have many great features and good performance depending on how they are made.
I personally never understood the hype about ports (generally heavier, less stable and new features kinda gimicky) and AOSP ROMs (less stable, why did I get a Samsung to have it run AOSP?). But that's just my opinion.
The above paragraph is however just a generalisation and it is obviously much more complicated than that. One would need to test and compare individual ROMs on different areas to get a good comparison on what is currently offered by the XDA developers. If anyone has tested multiple, then please post up comparison reviews. I think It would be a very useful guide. As readers can probably tell, I'm probably not the best person for the job.

I swear that whyred users have zero understanding of XDA rules and general discipline on forums (props to those of you who do understand).
What's the point of this thread in development section? What's actually the point of the thread like this anywhere on forums? The blog which has the GCam apk updates is available to anyone and the people are already familiar with GCam updates there and are aware that there is new apk, and surely if something gets fixed it will be posted in *already* present proper threads.
The forums here are already extremely bloated with pointless threads opening everywhere with questions like - How to take screenshot, how to install gcam, how to flash this or that, what is encryption, give me links pls, fix this pls. For example, when new MIUI stable update gets released (was happening with Beta as well) right away 5 threads open with the same content about how it was released!
And also people forget that Global/China and Indian variants have different issues sometimes and they still fail to mention what variant they use when giving feedback and reporting issues.
This is just a mess.
Working in pixel experience! although the front camera does not :/
@Cirra92 Don't waste your time, this is redmi note 5 (the cheap device) forum and i still remember that one user (hats off to him :good said the more cheaper is the device....the more ****tier is the community, that's very true.

Very true. I am coming from the true NOTE family having a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 from yester years. Since they are extremely costly nowadays and I had to get a second device, I opted for this device seeing the immense popularity of Xiaomi. But the difference in forum standards is night and day. That's why I keep mostly mum and just silent visitor. But no doubt, the true developers are doing great job here too. Note 3 was crippled by exynos(not developer friendly). I think this is the case with most of the forums on Xda nowadays. New and new members join Xda just to get something. But very few have or know the etiquettes to behave or contribute to the great Xda community.
Working nice on miui 10 stable
And yes it has color pop as well as new live fovus feature to edit background blur amount...thnkz mate for update link

Not always, ido community was great!
I think popularity is the key issue, and sadly it's normal...
What seems strange to me is that there is a little if none moderation. Duplicated post like this should be merged and cleaned rapidly to educate new user and teach them.
(just my OT idea)
So anyone have any idea how to make the front Camera work on global version with latest release of Gcam?
@scricccettoni I was talking in general, on any forum there's a mess ofc, but it's extremely here with a few hilarious threads here and there!!
@MarvinMe And this is a great example of the mess that we're talking about

Hehehe, but it's fun isn't it? :fingers-crossed::highfive:
Hello all,
The current Pixel Experience developper stopped working on the project. And with more and more Android 11 ROMs coming out for this device, I would like to know if there is somewhere a developer working on it, or discussing the topic in a Telegram group.
Thanks in advance!
Hello, I recently upgraded my ancient One Plus One (Cyanogen) to Poco X3 Pro. I haven't been keeping up with the developments in the rom community at all. As the whole Cynogen situation flew over my head. So I was wondering which one is currently the most robust rom out there. From what research I've done Lineage OS and Arrow OS seem to be the most popular for Poco X3 Pro. So I wanted to get the opinion of the community to make an informed choice, what OS will last me as long and function long as Cynogen did on my old phone has?
I'm currently on lineageos, I tried crdroid, paranoid Android, havoc os, xiaomi.eu, pixel experience, pixel extended, MSM xtended, kraken proyect, evolution X, derpfest, and I must forgot one or two more. The best experience I had was with havoc-os. All works great, superb stability and plenty customisation. Every rom I try after that just dissapoints me. They are so cluttered with malfunctioning features to be reliable or are so clean and minimalistic that you forgot is a custom rom, what is good if you gain speed and performance, but thats didn't happen to me.
I am on lineageos, super clean, as i don't mind lack of customization, and it's the mother of all roms as basically all roms are based on it and normally it's the last rom to abandoning a device....
Not on your list but I'm finding Derpfest as great on this device as on my previous devices.
