Touch Sampling rate - Xiaomi Poco X2 Questions & Answers

Can anyone tell me what is the touch response for this phone. I aware that the screen refreshes at 120hz but need to know at what rate the touch is sampled at. If it samples at 60 then well that's disappointing.

The touch response rate is 120Hz as they said in the launch event.

I tweeted them to know the exact number, apparently they didn't respond it's probably 60hz I'm assuming.

Yeah as mentioned by Ya_Sg they did reveal it in the launch event as 120hz. They said that they doubled the touch polling, making it 120hz. That means Poco X2's display is basically similar to that of iPad Pro(2018) :silly::silly::silly:

Touch Multitest App shows that Poco X2 has 240Hz touch sampling rate

How is 90Hz display

Does the 90hz do any better performance to video watching like motion interpolation. For Axon 10 pro it adds more frames to the actual frames thus make the video less blury and smooth .it will do the same to games ,YouTube , video players ,etc ,does Nubia also has same function?
I wonder how to know the diference, especially in game frame rate? any app to prove it?
The panel is great, it's made by a Chinese company, the name escapes me. There's no noticeable defects, the 90hz is noticeable.

The things you said is different. The feature may not available on video players
.Now Only works on mediatek phones and Axon 9 pro and 10 pro. If you don't know what is that refer below video. What it does is It will add more fake frames to reduce blurry effect. Now most of the Tv Comes with this feature.
Left side you see is the Modified Frame Video and Right side is the Normal Frames video

Just play below video you should notice blurry frames

overclocking the screen

I really want the S pen from the note but I really like the 7 pro for the 90hz screen.
is there any way to overclock the note 10 display higher? even its its just to like 75hz that is fine.
preferably without having to root
Nope

Not gonna happen. Not sure why Samsung didn't include a 90hz screen, since they make the screen 90hz for OP, and the upcoming pixel 4.

Brightness, overall image quality, battery life. These appear to be the main reasons. Yeah the OP7 Pro has a higher refresh rate but don't be fooled, it's nowhere near as good as far as image quality and brightness. I guess it's up to personal preference.

I have both. Brightness? OP7pro is BRIGHTER than n10. Battery? Nope, I lost about 2% batt with 90hz on, not really a battery killer. Lol. People need to stop with the bs.

Considering the OnePlus 7 Pro's display brightness spec is supposed to max out at around 820 nits while the note 10+ can reach 1300... you either got a special phone that no one has seen or you're full of crap.

It's of the screen refresh rate not the app, go look at the xz prem forums for the 120hz mod for example
Same thing happens year after year and someone says it can do 120hz. Sony won't support this and have said this. Unless someone can prove its 120hz. Especially on 4k screen and small battery.....

he had made a tournament with the Xperia 1 before its release to show the advantage of 21: 9 and 120hz for compatible games. I think it is the application settings for example with aida64 I have a resolution of 4k for the screen because the application is in 4k I think for the refraichissement of the screen is the same if the application does not offer 120hz native you will not have it

And I think the 120hz is available in axe and Darkness rises because with the maximum screen frequency my battery really does not last long max 2 -2.30 h vs 6-7h usually in games

If you think 120hz based on battery performance then it's not 120hz. You would clearly see the device being smoother.
Sony hasn't said it supports 120hz. You would think 4k at 120hz is better for advertising the phone than just 4k.... I welcome someone to prove this wrong.
As soon as one person says it 120hz others jump on and start spreading it.

120 Hz is not available in 4k it is Normal that it does not communicate on it, only in 2k and Sony is one of the companies that communicates the least about the features, it's a rpg the difference is not obvious but since the game supports a refresh of 120 Hz it can not be that the other rpg I play does not consume as much and they are all 60fps. when the characteristics is zackbugs who had published an image is still him who shows the photos of smartphones 6 months before their release not the kind of people told anything

Game supports 120hz but Xperia 1 doesn't. As I said earlier one person says it the rest follow.
RPG or not RPG you would be able to tell the difference between 120hz and 60hz.
Sony would advertise 120hz just as much as they would as 4k as it would be a key selling point. They've also said they went with battery life over 120hz

it is not me who said it was on the site Asian Sony does not ask me which one. it would surprise me strongly that only the Asian versions take into account that, it will not release the top because it would need compatibility only with the game 2k / 120 Hz and 100% compatible with the game optimizer so only a very small minority of titles it has no interest to release the top if it concerns only 3 titles on millions. and all high-end Sony have a screen 120 Hz x1 does not deviate from the rule. we will talk about it in 1 years when the mod will come out. Sony will never offer to change the refresh of the screen just as it does not propose to change the screen resolution. Short end of the debate we'll talk when a mod out and yes on the RPG 60 or 120 FPS hardly change anything, there is too little movement to realize a few things. it is only useful for the game (type of shooting with fast movement that you will see a difference)
120hz with daily use?
Battery life from 6 soc to 3.
Nope.
I dont know maybe it doesnt...
Sorry for reviving an old thread, but yesterday I decided to try CoD Mobile on my Xperia 1 and it runs great except for a slight snag, it doesn't fill the whole screen. There are 3 thin black bars on the bottom and the sides of the image, as if the display resolution is a bit lower than the screen and instead of fitting the image to the screen it just goes top-center.
Anyone else have this experience with CoD Mobile? My Xperia 1 is fully updated to the latest firmware, and from older videos on youtube it seems like the image should fill up the whole screen. Can anyone with experience clarify?

The Android 10 full screen navigation broke the full screen support for some games on 21:9 display. The only way I know to temporarily solve this issue is to change to three buttons home navigation before you launch the game. This will annoy people who has a lot of icons in Home because they will be shifted when you switch in between of both navigation modes.

Any way for 90hz refresh mod?

Is there any possible way to install 90hz refresh mod ( present in Oneplus 7t ) on our Oneplus 7 ?
Is our OP7 supports that?
I saw some xiaomi flagships has such mods installed but why not in OP7 till now?
Any good reason?
Does it has anything to do with Fluid Amoled display?
Nonsense, it's hardware related, op7 screen only capable 60hz

Do you know how to do it? Any links or posts or topics ?
There are quite a few 60hz refresh rate phones that can use the 90hz refresh rate. Currently I have not found a way to open the 90hz refresh rate on Oneplus 7. I tried this app to turn on the 90hz refresh rate, because Oneplus 7 has no DTBO, it has not been successfully opened 90hz. But this is not due to hardware.
I request any developer to develop a mod for 90hz refresh rate for our op7 or provide a process to do so that i will test on my phone..
I'm pretty sure there's a way to increase the refresh rate.
What we'll need to find out, when a Dev actually looks into that, is how stable is it, and by how much? And will it be convenient enough (battery, durability).
I really hope that the screen is actually as good as OP7T
Any news about that?

The app has been updated, but it still does not work for OnePlus 7.
There are many factors here.
For example: Mi 9 uses an 85Hz panel underclocked to 60Hz, that's the reason why this type of mods can easily enable this feature without any side effects (Ignoring the extra energy consumption of course), I don't know how Redmi K20/Mi9T screen is, but I assume it will be something similar.
Another important thing to keep in mind: OnePlus uses command-mode to control the panel (this method precludes any external modification that is attempted over the panel controller) while Xiaomi for some strange who-knows-reason uses video-mode (If I'm not wrong, Xiaomi is the only manufacturer that uses this method in high-end devices with OLED panels), and basically this method facilitates modifications to the the different dtbo's/panel controllers.
I don't want to break anyone's hopes, but currently I don't think anyone outside Samsung has the ability to change the refresh rate of this panel, these screens were strongly designed to work this way and only in this way.

General 1080p Default Screen Resolution

Now that the embargo is up, one of the things I've found interesting from the reviews is that the 7 Pro screen resolution defaults to 1080p, and you have to go into the settings to switch it to 1440p.
Maybe Google thinks people will notice the improved battery life more than they will notice the reduced resolution.
Unless you hold the phone a few inches from your face, or you use a magnifying glass, you will NOT see any discernable difference. So it depends on what is more important to "you", longer battery life per day, or imaginary higher screen resolution?
Interesting, I didn't know that. Does that really save that much battery? The whole screen is still being used.
It's also a weird thing to do marketing wise - hey you've got a great display, but we'll show you worse quality...
What's the point of having the higher resolution if many people will never use it?

Some people are into specs and will buy based on that alone, whether it's the SOC, the screen resolution, the refresh rate, or the camera modules even though in real world use most of the specs make no discernable difference to 99% of end users.
Is it possible to make a Toggle to switch between 1080p and 1440p in Tasker?
I'm leaving mine at 1080p. It's plenty good. Hardly even noticable.
I cant tell a difference, well not one that makes any difference so i'll leave it at 1080p if its going to give a bit more battery life.

The only thing I can reliably see is when in the setting itself when you toggle between the two resolutions I notice that the clock in the notification shade will move about 1/8th inch to the left on QHD and then move back to the right on FHD. Give it a try and see.

As I mentioned previously, I currently have an S21 ultra (snapdragon) and evaluating via this forum my buying the 7 Pro. On my S21U I have the Display Tester app (available in both free and "Pro" versions). The S21U also comes, out of the box, set to 1080P. However, when you look at 1080P using Display Tester you will see that the gamma of the display is out of wack. There the gamma is around 1.4 or so, leading to a somewhat washed out image. Setting it to WQHD+ (3200 x 1400) Gamma goes to 2.2, the accurate setting.
Interested if anybody wants to test this out on the 7P.

Here are a couple of links which explain Gamma and why it is important:
The Main Reason Monitor Calibration Is Essential
Gamma is used in digital photography to determine the image's brightness and is important to understand.
www.lifewire.com
The importance of gamma
"Gamma" has to do with how a display translates input signal levels into the intensity of output light. We show you how to understand the relationship.
www.androidauthority.com
This should be tested in both 60hz and Adaptive/120hz mode as the calibration between different refreshrates can differ.
