How is 90Hz display - Nubia Red Magic 3 Guides, News, & Discussion

Does the 90hz do any better performance to video watching like motion interpolation. For Axon 10 pro it adds more frames to the actual frames thus make the video less blury and smooth .it will do the same to games ,YouTube , video players ,etc ,does Nubia also has same function?

I wonder how to know the diference, especially in game frame rate? any app to prove it?

The panel is great, it's made by a Chinese company, the name escapes me. There's no noticeable defects, the 90hz is noticeable.

The things you said is different. The feature may not available on video players
.Now Only works on mediatek phones and Axon 9 pro and 10 pro. If you don't know what is that refer below video. What it does is It will add more fake frames to reduce blurry effect. Now most of the Tv Comes with this feature.
Left side you see is the Modified Frame Video and Right side is the Normal Frames video

Just play below video you should notice blurry frames

1080p smartphones and 60fps plausibility?

I dont see a lot of chatter about 60fps recording on the latest batch of 720/1080p recording smart phones.. Is it even possible or just a matter of hardware limitations? Im just curious if we could see a future hack enabling 60fps or do we wait for manufacturers to offer it. thanks!
That would be SICK... But I don't think it'd be possible due to the size of the camera sensor in most mobile phones.
i just know that the HTC Bass (Runnymede) will be able to do 720p recording at 60fps.
afaik, there are no known phones that can do [email protected] currently.

Sounds like James Cameron's dream phone, to me. Cameron is pushing for the movie industry to adopt a minimum 60fp/s for movies.
is 60fps the limit? cant it go any higher?
Really isn't much benefit in going higher except for Video/Sports analysis, TBH. For just watching stuff, 60 FPS is good enough.
I understand that for general recording/watching 30fps is plenty. 24fps even.. Id just be interested for some cool slo-mo effects. even if it were capped at a short time due to the size of the file. Im just wondering if its hardware limitations (video encoding of the chipset, size of the sensor as previously mentioned) or just a matter of software tweaking; forcing the phone to record/encode @ 60fps.
I had an older LG phone that had a slo-mo effect that looked cool but quality took a big hit.

agree
even if games / videos were made to run 60 fps, it's a waste of power
there's no point pushing more than 30 frames when human eyes can barely keep up with less than that

Don't agree at all. The difference is big and is easily proven. Seems to be some kind of urban legend that eyes cannot perceive faster movement than around 24-30fps
Check for example these example videos (using a modern browser on a modern PC).

This is an age old debate and is far more complex than that one example can cover. For video playback where you can't resolve individual frames though, 30 fps is more than enough.
Yes, we all like to see those beautiful bullet time type videos shot with fast cameras, but there are limitations other than processing power. In this case it's optical. The faster you shoot, the better lit the scene needs to be and the better the light gathering ability of the optics. Perfectly easy to overcome when you're lighting the scene and using proper hardware. Not so good when you're using a phone to do the shooting though!
I don't see the point of 1080p/60fps until they can do 1080p/30fps properly
Also better optics before moving onto anything else

Sorry but I don't agree at all, and your post doesn't include one single argument for you statement so it doesn't make any change.
30 fps looks ok, but 60fps video looks more fluid. It is very obvious in fast moving videos, e g sports.
I know that movies are made for 24fps and have "motion blur" to remove the problems with low frame rate, and some people prefere this motion blur (i e movie captured with small aperture) but that is a matter of taste and doesn't change what looks more fluid or not.
HTC Vivid [email protected] http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_vivid-4302.php
That all depends on the GPU. Maybe the powervr sgx 543 can, seems the most plausible of all the GPUs available.
So those can shoot @60fps:
-LG G2
-Note 3
-HTC One (720p only)
Does anybody know more devices?
Maybe Nexus 5 after some camera hack...? I would buy if it had 1080p60
Samsung Galaxy S4 and S5 can record 60fps video as well

KERNEL - Optimize camera for 60FPS - Kernel developer needed.

Im working on the camera, but the driver seems to be "limited" to 30FPS so if i set 60FPS on the apk will not work, due kernel override it.
I need a kernel developer to look deep into this, please can anyone send me a PM i think can be cool have working QHD or HD at 60 FPS for better experience.
See you!
Yes you would have a better experience because your eye´s can see 25.5 frames per second .....
thats why movies are so bad because they only have 25 frames per second .. they are so ugly to see

such BS.. eyes can see a lot more then 25.5 frames a second..

of course you see a difference.. did you try to play an egoshooter locked up to 25fps.. its complete ****.. even between 40fps and 60fps there is a huge difference
also movies in cinema wich are 25fps have frames in between to make it more smoothly so you actually see 25 different frames in a second but in reality you see 75 frames ( depending on an actions equence and stuff)

The fact is that the human eye perceives the typical cinema film motion as being fluid at about 18fps, because of its blurring.
But definetly you can apreciate diference bewten 30 and 60FPS ( this last more nitid cleear and smooth
Compare this, and then tell me if you see diference...
youtube reconverts at 30FPS so, you need to see the second one ( slowmo ) you se the second video is more fluid.
If you pause the video in movement, at 30FPS the image is blurry at 60FPS NOT....
So i think 60FPS is a good point to develop, maybe not for you but for me, and skaters, or other people doing high speed sports, this can be awesome.
Excuse my bad english.

120 fps video quality

So I have noticed that when I film 120 fps video with the camera, there is only an option for 720 and it looks all pixelated. Is this a physical limitation of the camera, or is it just to avoid massive files. If it is not a physical limitation, does anyone know of an app that will let you film 120fps in 1080 or 4K? If there are many apps that do this, which are your favorite and why?

as far as i know, it's a physical limitation. And the reason it looks pixelated is cause it's actually less than 720p and upscaled.

They'll always play at 120 fps. You need to use a video editing software to slow it down though.
So the camera doesn't actually record in 4k or 1080p?

It does, just not at 120 fps. 1080p goes at 60, and 4k goes at 30.

It can do both. I recommend not using 4k though because as the user above said, it's only 30 fps. 30 fps is not bad but you'll notice the FPS more than you'll notice the extra resolution which you probabaly only have one device (your g3, which is 2k) that can actually show close to that resolution.

'Cinema Motion' on Samsung plasma tv's plays back at 24fps for smooth movie like motion. I love it compared to the nasty 60/120/240 hz refresh of LCD monitors. If you go to a warehouse club like sam's or costco, you can compare side by side... IF you can find any plasmsas for sale anymore. YMMV.

[APP] FiLMiC Pro - [email protected] FRONT CAMERA / [email protected] MAIN CAMERA VIDEO

So I was looking for a solid video recording app and stumbled across this, if you want a manual video app you will be more than happy as the controls are amazing. To achieve these surprising video setups simply press the settings toggle and select Resolution, bump it all the way up. Make sure the FPS and the playback FPS is at 30 and do not change any of the Exposure/ISO options. Now that is done I have found that in low light conditions the FPS may go down just a bit, around 2FPS, which is not that much off a difference. I have tried different combinations but it seems that 42FPS is the limit for all resolutions which is very sad as we still do not have [email protected] in 2018 . But overall this is amazing, the front camera shocked me the most, it not only unlocked a super high resolution it also comes with a very nice FPS. Some bad things are that the zoom is not very good on the viewfinder at all (but is alright in the actual video) compared to other video camera apps and it does cost alot of money for an app (around $13 USD), but the features it brings make it more than worth it .
I am using Cosmic OS 3.1 Oreo 8.1 unofficial with official Gapps and I haven't tried this on any other ROM.

Well, it is not for everyone. I took the plunge and I have checked my videos metadata and gone through frame by frame to see if their is just duplicates and to my surprise it is true 42FPS with the super high resolution. My friend has a LG V10 and the customization on this camera app is very comparable to his, which is very good. The quality of what this app produces is mind-blowing, it makes any low light shot look super. I know what you mean, this price is way too high for any app, so I would only recommend this app to proper enthusiasts. The typical user wouldn't really care or notice the bumped up pixels and FPS.

Bump up the fps in 4K all the way up to 30fps and make sure the playback speed it the same, record your video with auto exposure, then you can check what real fps output (should be around 45fps in good light) is using this:

It should work in Oreo ROMs, but I dont know if it will work on Nougat.

Well so far this Google HDR algorithm is so good, literally no other photo app can compare it it. So what I recommend is BSG's new Gcam, it provides so much customization to get the perfect picture, especially with the new auto shutter speed version - as the Le Max 2 has a limited measly shutter speed of half a second, this is merges photos with the limited shutter speed giving out a much nicer image. Although front camera portraits and HDR have that annoying Green filter, but i mostly use my main camera only so for me this is what I use the most.

Nope. It's worth it for the incredibly smooth zoom alone.
Too much to set the bitrate speed. Therefore the video takes up a lot of space.

If you think 120hz based on battery performance then it's not 120hz. You would clearly see the device being smoother.
Sony hasn't said it supports 120hz. You would think 4k at 120hz is better for advertising the phone than just 4k.... I welcome someone to prove this wrong.
As soon as one person says it 120hz others jump on and start spreading it.

As soon as one person says it 120hz others jump on and start spreading it.

120 Hz is not available in 4k it is Normal that it does not communicate on it, only in 2k and Sony is one of the companies that communicates the least about the features, it's a rpg the difference is not obvious but since the game supports a refresh of 120 Hz it can not be that the other rpg I play does not consume as much and they are all 60fps. when the characteristics is zackbugs who had published an image is still him who shows the photos of smartphones 6 months before their release not the kind of people told anything

Game supports 120hz but Xperia 1 doesn't. As I said earlier one person says it the rest follow.
RPG or not RPG you would be able to tell the difference between 120hz and 60hz.
Sony would advertise 120hz just as much as they would as 4k as it would be a key selling point. They've also said they went with battery life over 120hz

it is not me who said it was on the site Asian Sony does not ask me which one. it would surprise me strongly that only the Asian versions take into account that, it will not release the top because it would need compatibility only with the game 2k / 120 Hz and 100% compatible with the game optimizer so only a very small minority of titles it has no interest to release the top if it concerns only 3 titles on millions. and all high-end Sony have a screen 120 Hz x1 does not deviate from the rule. we will talk about it in 1 years when the mod will come out. Sony will never offer to change the refresh of the screen just as it does not propose to change the screen resolution. Short end of the debate we'll talk when a mod out and yes on the RPG 60 or 120 FPS hardly change anything, there is too little movement to realize a few things. it is only useful for the game (type of shooting with fast movement that you will see a difference)
120hz with daily use?
Battery life from 6 soc to 3.
Nope.
I dont know maybe it doesnt...
Sorry for reviving an old thread, but yesterday I decided to try CoD Mobile on my Xperia 1 and it runs great except for a slight snag, it doesn't fill the whole screen. There are 3 thin black bars on the bottom and the sides of the image, as if the display resolution is a bit lower than the screen and instead of fitting the image to the screen it just goes top-center.
Anyone else have this experience with CoD Mobile? My Xperia 1 is fully updated to the latest firmware, and from older videos on youtube it seems like the image should fill up the whole screen. Can anyone with experience clarify?

The Android 10 full screen navigation broke the full screen support for some games on 21:9 display. The only way I know to temporarily solve this issue is to change to three buttons home navigation before you launch the game. This will annoy people who has a lot of icons in Home because they will be shifted when you switch in between of both navigation modes.
