Question on which car charger to get - OnePlus 7 Pro Questions & Answers

Will the 45w fast charger for samsung note 10 plus be compatible with warp charge for my 7 Pro? Or, will a oneplus car charger with warp charge still fast charge the note 10 plus??
Or which charger should i get for the fastest charging possible for both phones in mind?

Warp charging is OnePlus specific. It requires heat management on the charger side, and only a Warp-specific charger will do that. I remember from the OnePlus 3T (which had "Dash" charging, of which Warp is just an updated version) folks found that Oppo "VOOC" chargers were compatible with the 3T's Dash charging. One person said that Dash was simply a rebranding of the VOOC fast charging technology (and in fact just same charger but different color and band name on it). Oppo owns a part of OnePlus, and I think OnePlus even uses Oppo's manufacturing facilities, if I remember correctly. So it might be the same with Warp (an Oppo charger may work).
Otherwise, no other charger is going to work unless it says OnePlus and Warp on it.
I don't follow Samsung very closely. I remember their fast charging being proprietary, but not as "picky" as OnePlus. It's not a choice on the OnePlus/Warp side. So you should probably start with the Warp car charger, and see if it fast charges on the Note 10. That's probably the best you can do.
It has definitely become a problem that phone fast-charging technology is not standardized. Too many companies want to use their own proprietary fast charging system, to differentiate themselves from the competition (and to credit OnePlus, Warp is pretty darned impressive!). Qualcomm tried to standardize this, for at least phones with Snapdragon chipsets, with their Quick Charge (QC) technology. But there are even some companies (I think Samsung is one) that disabled QC on Snapdragon phones. And of course, not all phones use Snapdragon chipsets.

Does OnePlus 6 support USB Power Delivery?

Does OnePlus 6 support charging over USB Power Delivery standard? I have a couple USB-PD chargers laying around from Google Pixel so I would like to know if I will be able to take advantage of the charging standard if I get the OnePlus 6.
I'm not a fan of every phone manufacturer introduces their own fast-charging method. Huawei has SuperCharge, Oppo has VOOC, OnePlus has DashCharge.
Thankfully, Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 supports USB-PD which requires Snapdragon 845 CPU, which OnePlus 6 has onboard and Qualcomm's website also says that the OnePlus 6 supports QC4.0 so I assume the device would support USB Power Delivery standard too.
Can anyone confirm this? Thank you.

Bump, same question
No this device doesn't support PD. They use their own proprietary charging of Dash Charge. It's almosy equivalent to VOOC charging by OPPO.
Is this also the case with OP 6T? I thought I read somewhere that the 6T supported USB PD ?
To qualify, yes you can plug your phone into a USB Type C PD charger and it will charge BUT it will only charge at the slower rate. It would be like plugging it into a regular slow charger. So if u want to charge your device slowly then sure use a PD charger, you just won't get the benefit of fast charge.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A6000 using Tapatalk
Cellphone Charge Protocol:
Huawei: SuperCharge & FastCharge
Xiaomi: Quick Charge 3.0 & 4.0
OPPO & Oneplus:VOOC/DASH
PD can't dash charge the Oneplus , It needs a converter.

Fast charging

I switched to a 1+7P (T-mobile locked variant) yesterday and I understand that it uses proprietary fast-charging. This is an upgrade from an LG G6 which uses Qualcomm's QuickCharge 3.0. I understand that right now the 7P doesnt support QC3. But is QC3 something that's integrated into the SoC itself or is it software-driven? If it's the former, would it be possible to enable QC3 in the future?
Integrated into SoC. OPPO created VOOC which is known as Dash Charging to OnePlus. Its there competing technology with Qualcomm and with the advancement with our superior Warp Charging I highly doubt OnePlus will see any version of QC anytime soon.

I don't think it'll ever happen. The big thing about OnePlus's Dash Charge and Warp Charge is that all the stress is on the charger module itself and not the phone, so the phone barely heats up. From what I gather, they are completely different technologies that cannot (and will not) work together.

Oh, I think Dash Charge is great. It's faster than QC3 by a mile. But I have an Auckey dual-port charger with QC support that I really liked using that is now basically just a generic charger.

Same boat here. Last 3 phones I had were the Moto X Pure, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy S9. I have 4 10W wireless chargers, 7 QC 3.0 wall chargers, 3 cars with QC 3.0 chargers, and 4 QC 3.0 portable batteries. I suppose the rest of my family can keep using those, but I've got some purchasing to do.
Op7 does support usb-pd. My nightstand chargers is a pixel charger. Not as fast as dash obviously, but faster than a basic and was much cheaper than an extra oneplus dash charger

Can i charge my OP7 pro with a "regular" charger?

Hi,
I just got my new OP7 pro that is replacing my samsung S8.
As i have S8 chargers and even older chargers (like for S6) I wonder if I can use "regular" charger / samsung S8 car charger / xiaomi power bank charger on my OP7 pro?
The warp charger is great but I have only one... and basically the most 2 issues I can think of is charging my OP 7 pro while driving (I have car charger for my old S8)
or while away, I have a xiaomi power bank charger.
So, I would like to know if:
1. is it possible? (probably if so it will charge slower... but it is ok)
2. will it damage my OP 7 pro battery in the long term?
3. Can i Use other USB-C cables?
Thanks for your help.

Charge with any cable. Only warp bank and cable will charge at full speed as you're aware.
So, 1 yes, 2 no 3 yes

And you can charge with DASH chargers too. I do this with my old Oneplus 3T charger and there is no problem. This is not fast as WARP but faster than regular chargers.
Great, thank you all for the answers.

Compatible Chargers?

Will any 65W charger work for Super VOOC charging or does it have to be the specific Oppo charger? Anyone have any experience? I rather leave the charger it comes with new in the box for selling purposes and would pick one up on Amazon if it works with a regular 65w charger
I try to use with MacBook adapter 85w, chardiging working normaly, fast like qc2.0 But original super Fast 2-3 times less, i recomend use original chardger, its azing expirirence to chardge phone 5 min to 25%

Yeah I found it is proprietary for Super VOOC. Although 65W, it needs to deliver it at 6 amps & 10 volts to get the super fast charging. No on the market charger has that option (even smart 65w chargers) to deliver the power at that rate... if I keep the phone long enough, I'll just get one from aliexpress.
You can buy oneplus chardger, i try with old (op5) oppo show vooc chardge. And with new (op 7t pro) chardger i have super vooc. Its the same.

Oneplus Warp charger 30T charges at VOOC, not super VOOC, for me
hello
have a nice day
Would the OnePlus Warp Charge 65 Power Adapter (https://www.oneplus.com/uk/product/oneplus-warp-charge-65-power-adapter) be apple to charge an Oppo Find X2 Pro with the same speed as the original charger?
15-18w charger from samsung charges fast too without melting the battery like 65w.

OnePlus/ Oppo compatibility

Hi everyone!
Let's see if anyone here can help me, because OnePlus community, Oppo community were silent on this question, and the answer on Amazon was generic and useless.
So I currently use a OnePlus 9 Pro.
What we formerly knew as Dash Charge and then Warp charge now uses the same name as Oppo's fast charging technology; SuperVOOC.
I was looking for OnePlus 65w chargers on Amazon and Oppo's SuperVOOC 65W charger came up. 1. So my first question is, would that work at maximum speed with my OP9 Pro?
Also, as Oppo and OnePlus wireless chargers are visually identical and by the 50W, are they also mutually compatible? Like, if I purchased a OnePlus 50w wireless charger and then upgraded to a (hypothetical) Oppo Find x6 Pro in 2023, would the Oppo work on a OnePlus wireless charger and Vice-Versa?
Thanks to everyone who answers. Good health to everyone?
Everything will work fine if u use the OnePlus charger on oppo phone or the other way. I got OnePlus 9 pro and i use 100w oppo charger and it showing on screen when i plug in 65w which is the max for the phone to charge.
In conclusion oppo and OnePlus accessories and charger and cable are the same from the same manufacturer the only different is the logo and the colour of the cable. And what i found oppo accessories are way cheaper than OnePlus website even on there 80w car charger. The only different is the logo print.
