Android 10 update broke bluetooth audio connection with my car. How can I debug this? - General Questions and Answers

The update to Android 10.3.1 on my OnePlus 6 appears to have broken connecting to bluetooth audio in the car. I have had it connect once or twice with much fiddling but most of the time it will cycle connect>reconnect>connect etc. I've tried removing and repairing, connecting as an audio-only device and not a 'phone' (an option the car gives me) and even a full factory reset on the device with no joy. There doesn't seem to be anything in developer options that might help either. Anything I can do to try and debug this? It's seriously annoying being without audio in the car. I've raised a ticket with OnePlus but I'm not holding my breath.
Thanks

After you applied the update, did you boot into recovery and wipe the cache partition(not factory reset, just wipe cache)? Sometimes there is stuff from before the update that causes issues with new system(especially if the update is a newer android version than what you had), wiping cache fixes that. Sometimes it is even necessary to factory reset the device if wiping cache doesn't help.

So I just replaced the front assembly on this Nexus 5, and upon turning it on again, it seems that while Spotify, Instagram, and Facebook are able to connect via Wifi (I have no SIM yet and it's a wifi only device), Hangouts, the OS, Snapchat, and most other apps can't connect.
If it were a hardware issue, you would think I would get no connectivity whatsoever right? So far I've
forgot/rejoined my Wifi network
power cycled the phone
hard closed all apps
Formatted Partition Cache
The next step is either a factory reset or I pop the back off and reattach the antenna cables. The antenna cables don't seem like they'd be it though because I have some connectivity with some apps.
Can anybody think of why this would be happening? Any other troubleshooting that isn't nuke the phone back to factory?
P.S. Remember, this device has no SIM, so I'm wondering if maybe the defunct apps are trying to use mobile data? I can't screw with those settings as there's no SIM.

As you said it, the next step is a factory reset. Actually, go beyond that - unlock your bootloader and reflash the factory image; thus, ruling out software errors. I have a feeling that will work.

Figured it out. Time and Date were causing certificate errors...

Bluetooth Blues. *sigh*

I've had this happen on a couple of different devices at what appears to be random times.....usually the only solution is to totally wipe data but I'm wondering if someone else has a better suggestion. Scenario is as follows:
I attempt to pair the phone to a bluetooth device...doesn't matter which as the problem occurs on all of them...the problem? The pair screen comes up for 1 second literally then disappears....I never have time to enter a pin or even just hit the PAIR "button" if the pin is prepopulated (depends on device). In the case of my home cordless phones to link to my cell I need to enter a pin of 0000 and hit pair. Any idea how to "reset" bluetooth?
Man I've had this on lots of Android devices, and I've owned a lot. Android bt support has always been flaky. Did you unpair all devices in phone, shut off bt, wipe cache+dalvik cache? You don't have bluetooth autoconnect or anything like it installed? Also try resetting the device you are pairing to. Maybe bad pairing info stored.

Ok..you are my new best friend. I had done a wipe of dalvik and cache after doing a restore from backup to try and fix it but the backup had the issue as well....no other devices in memory....I did have bluetooth autoconnect on in an app but disabled it....finally just went back into TWRP and did a fix permissions followed by another wipe of dalvik and cache....and when I rebooted it worked as normal.
I'm not messing with it further to figure out what did it in case I break it again.

Mobile data problem after updating to Oreo

Hi,
I have my Honor 8 since January, it's FRD-L09 model. Recently I have updated to Oreo (FRD-L09C432B521) via HiSuite (of course did a factory reset after the update). The system works just fine except cellular data. More precisely, it's about turning it off. When I turn on the data there's a stable connection to LTE and everything is ok, but when I turn it off phone goes crazy. The device starts to heat up, all system apps (e.g. Settings, Contacts, Messages) are crashing. Sometimes there's also problem with touch - phone recognizes it just fine, but it doesn't respond, e.g. when I touch "back" or "home" button in the navbar there's an animation, but nothing happens. The phone also randomly resets. The only thing that helps is forced restart (holding the power button for more than 10 sec).
All this things happen ONLY AFTER turning off mobile data, so it basically comes to restarting my phone every time I turn off cellular data.
Did anyone have a similar problem? Is there any solution except rolling back to Nougat? Thanks in advance for your help, people

That's really strange, mine works perfectly even after Oreo without a factory reset. You should try another factory reset or a rollback to Nougat and then update to Oreo again (Maybe something went wrong when you update, but I'm not really sure).

Probably that's the only thing I can do since it looks like no one ever had such a weird problem Thanks for your time anyway, I'll try to do as you advice and write here if it helped.
Factory reset is mandatory, as far as I'm concerned, when doing a major update. Battery and general stability usually improves.

I did one after the update. Then the problem ocurred, so I did another (this time I wiped data & cache through recovery) as Kiruke adviced. Didn't help. The problem is present even when the device is clean. I also downloaded the last system version through eRecovery (unfortunately it seems in my country, Poland, Android 7 is no longer available because it downloaded B521), also didn't work. I tried resetting network settings, no luck. I contacted with Huawei support and it seems the only solution is to wait for some another update.

Have you tried to downgrade to some other version, going full stock and start the updating process over again?
Or even flash a OpenKirin ROM to see if the issue remains...?
Never came across this situation in all the devices and ROMs I've used.

Won't charge unless I restart

Some weeks ago my phone developed a strange behavior. Very often, but not all the time, when I plug it in to recharge, it doesn't start charging unless I restart the phone.
My son suggested rooting and replacing Samsung android with Google android.
Any other suggestions?
Try in safe mode to rule out a 3rd party app.
Any new apps added or uninstalled when this started? If one was uninstalled it may have altered hidden user settings.
Try clearing the system cache from the boot menu.
Try a hard reboot by pressing the power button until it restarts.
It may be hardware, C port pcb. Try gently cleaning it with a clean toothbrush. The C port pcb can fail in a number of ways.
Regardless of the cause this isn't a good reason to root. Factory reset if you can't find it although it's far better to find the root cause. If you suspect malware a factory reset is in order.
Backup all your critical data now in case the problem escalates and obviously before a reset.
It's also very remotely possible the firmware was corrupted, reflash to stock rom if a factory reset fails. A Samsung Experience center at Best Buys can probably help you if you can't fix it. They have advanced diagnostic tools and can also reflash it.

EVPAD 5 won't connect to the internet after factory reset.

My EV PAD 5 was acting up giving me an error 708 which didn't allow me to watch anything, so i factory reset it.
However after factory resetting it and logging into the wifi, which did connect, i was unable to actually use the internet.
If i press 6868 on the remote it tells me ''error 1004'', and if i go on google to go to 6868hx, it tells me ''you're offline/not connected to the internet''.
But the thing is, i did connect to the wifi and when i go to settings, the wifi does show up as connected and my wifi works, so what can i do at this moment?
Would appreciate the advice. Thanks!
