Goto phone click 3 dot on right top->Setting->Sounds and Vibration ->Raise to lower Ringtone flip that switch.
My problem is the ringer volume is too low.
If I increase it in the system settings, it doesn't take long and without my intervention it has decreased again.

Same here, on an OnePlus 7T.
Have you found any solution? I'm missing calls because the volume just goes into zero out of nowhere...
Hi, try this app. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...olume-increase-before-receiving-call.4277677/
It will automatically set ringtone volume to 100% before receiving call

I had this problem once but I soon found out it was something to do with the ROM I was on. What ROM are you on? Does it happen with the stock ringtones too? One thing that it could potentially be is that the MP3 file you're using is recorded below normal volume. You could use a third party software to boost the normal volume level to say +3 db to compensate for the low level.
BTW, this should have been posted in Q and A. I can see that you're new here but just so you know for future references.
yes it happen with the stock ringtone too ;/ So tell me how i can boost the volume ?
Hi,
I'm new to the HTC 7 Pro, I only have the phone for a week. I like it but I have an annoying problem with it: the in-call volume is too low. It's OK for the Office/Home environment, but it's barely audible in a crowd... Of course the in call volume is set to the max and I tried the registry settings to increase it to 15 but it only changed the volume steps, not the volume level...
Any idea to fix it? Can I fix it by flashing different/older radio firware?
TIA!

If you don't mind being overheard... speakerphone on low on your ear is a physical fix.

Half jokingly I came up with the same idea But I haven't tried it. I'll try to take the phone apart and clean the speakers but I have to collect some braveness first...
I wish I had that problem. The ear speakers are a bit loud for me. what's worse is at minimum volume, it's impossible to hold a conversation through headphones; Its so freaking LOUD!!
My Nexus 5 keeps muting the Ringtone & notifications volume and I the only way I can get it out is to turn it off and on again.
When its muted itself the volume rocker display shows the telephone with a line across it (muted).
The rocker allow me to increase the volume level to maximum but the speaker stays in muted mode. If I turn the telephone off and on again, the problem is solved (for some time).
Anybody have any idea what is going on?
Thanks.

I solved by myself. Not a Nexus 5 problem, but a Real Racing 3 bug.

Same thing is happening to me, but I don't have that app installed. How did you figure out which app was causing this issue?

I think you should find what program block you audio.
I find that googling, but I think you can try to launch and apps and find which one is responsible of the issue.

Had the same issue with my nexus 5. Here is what fixed it. go to settings-> apps -> running. look at the running applications , and kill one app at a time, and then immediately press the up/down volume button to see if you hear the beep. if you dont hear the beep kill the next process and repeat the process until you hear a beep. the last app that you killed just before you hear the beep, is the culprit. in my case, its textplus app, i had no volume mute issues after I uninstalled it.
Hey All,
I have a problem with Whatsapp voice calls, the volume of the conversation on the earpiece is too loud even on the lowest setting, I have to put the phone away from my ear in order to hear.
This is only on Whatsapp Calls. In regular phone calls and Viber calls it is normal and I can lower the earpiece volume normally.
Anything I can do to fix this? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling a different version of Whatsapp but it didn't fix the problem.
Any app that can lower the volume even more?
Thank you kindly in advance.
I think it's not a Whatsapp problem. I just noticed that Viber calls are also loud!! It seems that's a problem affecting data calls only.
If i restart my phone the problem goes away for a few minutes and then comes back.
Very frustrating...
mine does the same. I don't use viber, but whatsapp sure is loud. I actually noticed call volume doesn't affect whatsapp call actual volume. As you say it's too loud at the minimum, but it's exactly the same even at the max. It's like it's stuck at max volume, and lowering call volume in the phone doesn't actually affect real whatsapp call volume. is this your case too?
The volume in Whatsapp might be based on 'Media' volume setting instead of call volume setting -- of course, this would be a bug as well. Try reducing the Media volume level before or during a call and see if that helps. Settings -> Sounds and vibration -> Volume -> Media. Hope it resolves your issue.

That was my first thought too, unfortunately none of the volumes have effect on the whatsapp call volume..
Yes it's exactly the same thing. I also tried lowering all the volumes like media and call and ringtones... i even performed a restore to factory settings to no avail. Very annoying!
you can change that in settings

Change what in settings?
We mentioned that we tried lowering all the volumes from the settings. Is there any other setting to change?
Furthermore i noticed that sometimes if i make the Whatsapp call, there is no problem. But if i receive the call and answer it, the volume will be stuck on loud.
Please someone help.
Thank you.
I'm having this problem too. Extremely frustrating and I'm considering returning the handset and getting something non-Samsung because of it.

PS I have contacted WhatsApp customer support and they don't seem to be able to help - it appears to be a Samsung bug.
What can we do? Wait for a software update from Samsung?
no hints?
Well it seems that the recent Samsung Firmware update released this week around 300MB solved the issue, fingers crossed.
I'll keep testing though... and will report back.
Same issue here but with S4 and this thing started with lolipop update and persists.
Have you tried resetting it to factory settings after the update?
Tried two different roms and it was a clean install every time, I'm not using ota. This is a problem with lolipop TW roms on S4 and seems lke S7. Maybe android 6 fixing this bug? I can't try cause there are no 6 for s4.
I have a LG v30 and same problem .. cannot change call volume no matter what

Hello, It was a firmware issue which was fixed in Stock ROM's, it won't be fixed in custom ROM's. You need to buy a pair of headphones with inline volume control.
Has anybody experienced low incoming call volume? It works great on blue-tooth.
Thanks.
I actually have the opposite issue - normal call volume is awesome, but blue tooth call volume is low.

I agree. This is a serious problem especially when I am using public transport as it becomes really hard to hear the caller most of the time unless I am in a quiet place. I hope this problem as well as the back button blinking issue (appears to be data transmission related on 4G) is also fixed when Android 7 is finally released for ZF3U.
ASUS Pegasus X008. Low in-call volume.

Got the same problem.
Found two suggestions in Internet:
1. Go Engineer Menu *#*#3646633#*#*
Put all values for sound to max.
2. Downloaded ASUS Madia wizard.
Raise all vales to max.
But in vain. Still the problem persists.
Please suggest anything, if you have beaten that problem.
Hi! I cannot enter the Engineering Code as mentioned above. Each time I type it at the last symbol it clears the whole code. Is there a different code for the ZF3U? My in-call volume is non existent and I am still trying to find a fix.
