Hello
I have Samsung Galaxy S7(SM-G930F). My right thumb fingerprint was not working sometimes. I have registered both thumbs , so i decided to delete the old fingerprint and register it again.
Here a strange thing happened. My sensor was not scanning my fingerprint and was stuck at 0% with the message "Make sure that your finger covers the entire home key".
My left thumb fingerprint is working fine. But I am unable to register the right thumb as i have removed it.
It is not allowing me to add any fingerprint with same message and remains at 0%.
I have restarted the device, Turned off for about 12 hours but still problem persists.
I also wiped the cache by pressing Volume +
Home and power key but still nothing good happened..
Kindly guide me .
Thanks

Hi guys,
I am having a weird issue on my Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 where, if you hold in one spot for too long, the tablet stops detecting your finger on the screen. This is most apparent in games where, for example, you have to hold one direction on a d-pad for a while. After holding the button for 5-10 seconds, input is no longer detected, and the character stops moving. At this point, I'll need to remove my finger before input will be detected again (and this can take anywhere between instantly to a few seconds).
I've tried it on 4 tablets and all present with the same issue. Does anyone have any solutions/suggestions?
Yes am too facing this issue but still no fix found...
Its called water drop detection which means if u long press screen your touch get disabled for 2-3 seconds...this"FEATURE" is for avoiding accidental touches....i hate it....gives a lot problem in games gta, where is my water, moto racer etc...
hey guys, i flashed stock XEF MM on my S6 couple days ago, and since then i notice that sometimes when you wake your phone up the screen lights up slowly and gets you to the lock screen, i though it maybe an animation, but now i noticed something, i have the finger print scanner lock. when i press the home button and keep my finger on the home button after it opens sometimes it locks the phone and turn the screen off, this happened to me couple of times right now....anyone noticed that??
Its a feature in MM ... When proximity sensors its blocked you cannot unlock the phone. This feature is to block "unlocking" while your phone is in the pocked ... I think you are having problem with proximity sensor ...

it wasn't blocked but the room lights are turned off, maybe that's why....but still it opens the phone and goes to the home screen and half a second after that it locks it again
EDIT: as it turned out it was the sensor, i tried to block it with my finger and it kept locking the phone, the reason the phone was getting to the home screen is that the finger print sensor works very fast, it's faster than the sensor, so it unlocks and then the sensor locks the phone....THANKS
An hour or so ago everything worked fine, and then I updated my playstores pending apps (only Fleksy was pending) and the "force touch" feature of the phones seems to have completely stopped working, no matter what setting I turned on or off it didn't work...
Anyone has a clue as to what can cause this?
General notes:
1. Using stock Exynos unlocked variant
2. I am using package disabler (which btw didn't improve much my battery life, but that might be just me using the phone too much ) so maybe one of the packages decided that it depends on a disabled one?
I noticed mine stops working after a reboot and takes about a minute or two to get back up and running. Try a restart after clearing caches, if nothing still, reboot in safe mode. If it works, then its an app you installed interfering.

Mine also stop working after I restart my S8 Plus, it will again work if I wait around 20 minutes. Is this software or hardware problem? Any solutions?
Wish mine would stop working permanently! can't stand that feature forever brushing across it and waking the phone up!

How does it act up on your part? Mine would just stop working if I restart the phone & I should wait sometimes hours before it would work again.
Every time i'm installing my phone in my car mount I need to hold the phone from the bottom to install it correctly and brushing my fingers across the bottom is constantly waking the phone up, I've lowered the sensitivity to it's minimum.

I see, problem is not the same. On my part the tactile home button simply doesn't work when you press on it. I have to double tap to wake the phone when on lockscreen.

Unless your phone is unlocked no pins etc the phone will just go to the lockscreen, it's a useless feature, most people have the phones locked and thus it's a complete waste of time, it sounds to me the capacitive home button part of the screen was an afterthought because they couldn't install the fingerprint reader under the screen, just had a software update yesterday and still can't turn it off, basic stuff Samsung should enable an ON/OFF toggle switch for this.
Had the same problem with my S8 Plus India Variant(SM-G955 FD), I got my screen replaced from service center, Device was not rooted back then, so was under warranty.
But it is an hardware issue, as since then it has never gone off.
I mean when I press the home button hard it doesn't wake the phone up & no vibration. It happens when I restart the device then it would stop working for few minutes to a few hours sometimes, then it would start working again normally until I restart the phone again. I think this is just a software issue.
I am facing this super weird issue with my one plus Nord. it seems like my screen is not working as any of the swipes/touch etc or anything is not registered. but I am able to take screenshots with 3 finger gestures, I am able to unlock the phone with fingerprint with fp scanner, and once I'm unlocked I can only perform the recent tab open gesture(swipe from bottom)...
except for these 3 actions, nothing else works.
And the most astonishing thing is the power button is also working as a 1-second press. meaning I am able to lock/unlock the screen, but I am not able to force restart the device, that's right; if I try to click the button for 10-20 seconds, the screen just gets locked/unlocked as if I pressed it just for 1 second.
This is super random and I have no clue how to fix this issue, as I am not even able to restart/reset my device.
I am just now stuck waiting for the phone to get discharged and then I can try resetting by recovery. anyone has any solution or has anyone faced this after the recent nord update?
my touch screen stops working from exact fingerprint scanning area, then i have to press lock button then unlock by finger scanning, and it starts working again, it happens very frequently. its very annoying it doesnt let me scroll the web page, facebook or twitter, whenever my finger reaches scanning area either it register a click and opens the link or it does not scroll, again i have to do locking unlocking and it works fine again. restarted my device, wipe cache partition, but couldn't solve my problem.

Do you have a screen protector and if so what type
Yes , hydrogel screen protector.
Then possibly it to blame
But it works fine after locking unlocking, may be its a software bug
