Looong freezes in slowmotion - Realme 5 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi everyone.
I'll go straight to the point.
I have some very serious freezes in slow motion in stock camera on coloros A16. N 240fps slowmo freezes are 5-6 second long! And it intensifies until you almost can't record anything. Entire camera app behaves as if pulling 8k with sd450. 120 fps is little better but still pathetic.
Everything in camera app besides that works normally ( including "normal" laggy 60fps video rec).
I have 4/64 version I bought in India. Interestingly my friend have same phone with 6GB RAM and everything works fine. On telegram another user with 6GB RAM also told, that doesn't have problems with that too. Can 4GB RAM with SD712 be not sufficient to pull 240fps slowmo? (or 60 fps regular recording)?
I've tried restarts, clearing camera app cache, data etc but doesn't work. If RealmeUI update doesn't help then no further hope.
Can someone help with that?

I have the 6 gigs variant and everything seems fine for me. My friend has the 4 gigs variant , I will ask him if he is facing any problem with SloMo.

Camrecord Poor quality problem

hello folks ?
what's going on ?
so im newbie in this forum although i have been reading it since 2 months ago cuze this is a nice forum and i've learnt a lot stuff thanx this forum.
Today Im leaving a new Thread cuze i have a problem with my motorola xt720.
I have no idea why the problem is happening . but for some strange reason my motorola is recording video in hd mode with a poor video quality.
this is the example :
youtube plus /obD6zNfl7r4 ( i wrote in this way cuze im newbie and i cant post links )
my phone is the version with 550mhz proccesor and i have a 8gb sd card class 2.
sometimes when im recording some video, android says me that it has a problem with read/writing my sd.
also another times i can record some video with nice quality.
i had thought that the problem could be the cam was damaged but always i can take nice pics with no problems....
im thinking to change my sd and get some sd 6+ class. but i need fix this problem.
so if somebody can help me , plz leave me to know..
Thanx for all and my regards form Barranquiilla, Colombia....
So long
Hola mijaelstand,
First off, what ROM are you using? Do you have the Motorola Stock 2.1 ROM or have you flashed to anything else?
If you can sometimes record with nice quality and other times will poor quality, this may be a memory issue or a background app problem. The processor on this phone seems to need every bit of power it can get out of the CPU to record high quality video. Android 2.2 usually does a decent job of memory allocation but it depends on your minfree settings. Also background apps (if not killed by minfree) can take cpu cycles.
So as a test you can manually force close the majority of running apps under Home Screen->Menu Button->Settings->Applications->Manage Applications->Running TAB, kill things like adobe flash, facebook, maps, etc. And then try capturing a video to see if it helps the quality.
Next, if android says it has a problem with the sd card, it might be a good idea to replace it.
Lastly, I got a 404-Not found when I added the extension "/obD6zNfl7r4" to youtube[dot]com. So unfortunately, I couldn't see your video.

You have to add obD6zNfl7r4 after "/http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=\"
geez, it's getting late over here... thanks Zachary
mijaelstand, I now watched the video and I think I've changed my position. When you said poor quality I thought you meant frame skipping. The video seems to have banding issues. So my recommendations may not work for your problem. I've never seen that before on my XT720.
Hi dude. Thanx for reply. : ).....
I have my phone with the original room from factory.. still i have updated it. So im 2.1 eclair android version but im planning to update it .
I have setCpu app installed with motorola milestone overclockling app and it's running at 1000mhz on demand and it's smoothin. Very nice.
Also i uploaded a video where you can watch it and it has a nice quality. Look at this:
youtube.c/watch?feature=youtube_gdata_play. er&v=_H-SzGy9TxYr
So in this way i dont think the problem is some issue with the cam... also i have my sd in 2 partition cuze lin2sd can works. Also I dont know if the problem is the processor. So i need test it as u told me.

Hey,
This seems like a pretty standard recording. My XT720 performs in the same way. The only issue I think you have is lighting. The camera performs really poorly in low light and well outside. Try taking a video outside and post it. Goodluck.
Sorry im going to upload some example video. Thanx

My S7 never had a limit, would start splitting at 4GB and carries on, more than 10min also.

1. 1free gb of ram is very good
well, my case is worst, at least i have tested on 3 phone atm, same regional. Whatever i do, my used RAM constantly stay at 2.5GB RAM.
I used stock ROM btw. F8332 model
I debloated my phone, and this is my RAM usage.
But understand this panel not shown really ram use in an android phone.
Run this from cmd or terminal:
Code:
adb shell cat /proc/meminfo
You can see only 112 MB free RAM available. this is normal for android (not linux and unix-like OS). for fast start up apps and switch between apps faster, android save data in RAM as cache.
for AOSP or Nexus phones (pure android rom) you can have more ram, but not above 400-450 MB ram (we talk about real RAM usage not you can see inside Settings app)
here is my mem test...it looks weird to me that it says MemFree is around 80mb but MemAvailable is 800+mb...maybe someone to explain a bit...thanks in advance
Yep since the upgrade I am having an absolutely shocking time with mine. Dual sim XZ.
Constantly chugging, have to wait 5 seconds to switch windows, rebooting fixes it for about 10 minutes. Closing everything, have uninstalled a bunch of apps but this is horrible - unusable!
even recording video is stuttering.. I don't know whether this is related to software bugs or really impacted from limitation of RAM capacity (only 3GB)

I've made a post on the support forum on the Sony website so here's hoping they actually see it and reply.

Hi
I also have same issue. It came around 2-3 weeks ago and same problem is in my spouses Z5 Compact. In both phones it first appears pretty much same time. Is there some kind update that Sony hasn't inform about..?

It's pretty bad here also, you can check the original Xperia XZ support forums on Sony support website. It's pretty much same situation there also.
Seems like a poorly optimised 7.1.1 update

Question Photography Pro Version

What is the latest version of PhotoPro on the Xperia 5 III? I'm still using 1.3.A.0.24 with my Xperia 5 II.
i use 1.2.A.0.20 at my X5 iii
never saw an update for that app
tried your 1.3.A.0.24 now.....but app is crashing on start
Thank you. When I installed 24 it wouldn't run until I cleared cache and memory before installing. Then it worked fine but I don't know if it would accommodate the four focal lengths.
the 24 is for Android 12...and i'm still on Android 11 may thats why its crashing
I'm using Android 11 and 1.3.A.0.24.
I installed 1.4.A.1.1 on my Xperia 5III and it seems to be working fine.
dude that can't be working if u still on A11
i tried to install and got an parsing error on my device with A11
I have an Xperia 5III, XQ-BQ62, running Android 12 and my Photo Pro app is 1.4.A.1.1......dude. I just went out for lunch, took photos with all four focal lengths and it worked fine.

That's true. My bad. I did say earlier, "What is the latest version of PhotoPro on the Xperia 5 III? I'm still using 1.3.A.0.24 with my Xperia 5 II." That was back in February as was the post you quoted. I'm old and slow but things do change for me in six months.
I saw this thread and decided to grab 1.5.A.0.17 off APK mirror and after clearing the app's data it seems to work.
Thanks, Locuturus. Works for me, too. I'll give it a better run when I take my dog out for a walk.
Later
I went out before sunrise, took photos with streetlights, took photos later inside store, took photos outdoors in bright cloudy day. Everything is fine.
1.5.A.0.19 is also working just fine on my 5III after clearing the app data. Not sure what is different in this version, but everything is working as expected so far.
Thanks for the update.
I installed Sony Photography Pro 1.5.A.0.20 and it seems to be working fine.
1.5.A.0.20 has improved photo quality on my 5 III, the most noticeable difference is low light performance, it's now closer to how other phones process low light photos
thx for the heads up..... updated the ap at my X 5 IV immediately

Question April Update Exynos UK

Currently downloading the new software update on UK Exynos with April Security Patch. Hopefully this fix's alot of issues we are having! 1.3gb download.
At least the GPS issues, the audio sync issues and my wifi issues seem to be fixed
Let's see how this firmware holds
Yes babyyyyyyy
AVCJ - 1400MB almost - HUGE!
Same update here in Slovakia. Have to find any difference yet. I hope that Android Auto got fixed, gonna try tomorrow.

Same sh**t. lot of noise indoors
The audio lag bug seems fixed. But at still a lot of lag in the UI, notifications especially, and yes noise in photos. Not really much of an improvement. My patience with this phone is wearing really thin. Time to sell it and never buy Exynos again.

I got no faith in Samsung rectifying this one. The hardware is just too throttled. Only so much software can do

But isn't the UI lag in the Snapdragon model too? Did you have any reboots so far? I got a black screen a few minutes ago and a soft reboot... It sucks.

Yes. It's not big, but it's there.
I'm using the Snapdragon with "AVC9" FW build.
Today i've get on Romania update for S22 Ultra Exynos model and after this update settings button from camera app doesn't work (camera force close without error). I've tried to delete cache for camera app (problem was still there) and after that i go to fastboot menu (poweroff, connect cablu to my laptop, power on + volume up) and there i reset the cache partition and then accessed the last option "fix applications". Now settings button on camera work again. Before was ok!
PS: second problem was with S-pen... in middle of the screen doesn't receive any input (aprox. 10x10mm was disable but with finger work without any issue). This problem disappeared after I restarted the phone.
