Hello,
I'm a noobie. I bought a oneplus 7 Pro from a prestigious store (EMAG), not connected to any mobile network(1. this means is already rooted?).
Problem is I bought it resealed, Oxygen 10.0.3.GM21BA was already installed on it. I like newer versions of Android, and my phone, but it can't do basic functions. The call and sms and notifications volume is stuck on 0. I want to try to put Android 9 on it and try to install android 10 myself(2. Is this a good ideea ? will I loose my warranty, and not be able to return the phone? Should I just return the phone?). 3.How can I rollback my phone to Android 9?(simple steps that a noobie can follow. 4. Should I install then Android 10? which is a stable version?
Please help, I lost 5 hours reading and trying to solve it myself, I'm very sad!
If the volume is stuck on 0, check the notification slider on the right;
Top is mute all except alarms or "Silent" (Great for setting an alarm to wake yourself up without being woken up by stupid alerts and app noises)
Middle is Ringer off but media sounds enabled or "Vibrate"
Bottom is all sounds on and vibrations on or "Ring"
Although you might need to use the volume buttons to turn the volumes back up if they had been adjusted while the slider was moved, just move the slider to the bottom position then use the volume buttons to turn the volume up. You can also check Settings>Sound and vibration to see what the levels are at and use the sliders there too.
If you're a noobie then DO NOT TRY TO ROLL BACK THE PHONE, if you don't know what you're doing then you're highly likely to get into problems. There's nothing wrong with Android 10 on the OP7Pro, believe me.
Also, You don't need to "install Android 10", you're already on it.
If you've bought a resealed phone then I would recommend wiping the data and treating it as a brand new phone. Reboot the phone and hold down the volume down button which should take you into the recovery menu, go into recovery, then data and wipe data and cache. Then, when you reboot the phone it will be ready to setup as a new phone.
To ensure you've not received a tampered phone, when the phone is booting check for a screen saying "The boot loader is unlocked and software integrity cannot be guaranteed", if that does not show up then the OS should not have been tampered with and the phone should be safe. If it does then that doesn't necessarily mean it's dangerous, as the previous owner may have just installed a custom recovery (TWRP) and rooted the phone or tried some custom roms, but you should think about re-installing the OS if the bootloader is unlocked, download the OS from here :
https://www.oneplus.com/uk/support/softwareupgrade/details?code=PM1574156267635
OnePlus's official forums are here, you should think about registering and keeping an eye on them as you'll see announcements about new versions of the OS as well as beta versions, although if you're not confident flashing roms then you might want to stick with the default one that OnePlus pushes to your phone.
Also EMAG seems to be a Romanian store? So, if you go into Settings>About phone (at the bottom), then tap on Android Version, your installed OS version should be shown under "Build number" at the bottom of that page. EU versions should show "BA" as the last 2 characters, Global versions show "AA". The latest for each at the moment is :
Oxygen OS 10.3.0.GM21AA (Global)
Oxygen OS 10.0.3.GM21BA (EU)
Although you did say your build is already BA so it should be correct if you are from Romania? If your data isn't working then I would be checking that the phone wasn't locked to one particular supplier in that country but you may get away from flashing the European build from OnePlus's downloads above.
Don't ask us why they're using a different build number cos we don't know either, possibly to avoid confusion for users? In any case, you shouldn't have any problems with data connection but, if you do and it shows "AA" at the end, then you could try flashing the EU build instead. Just download it from the link I provided above, place it in the root folder of your phone's storage and then go into Settings>System Updates (Bottom), then tap the cog on the top right and go to Local upgrade, you should see the rom you downloaded there. Select it and follow the instructions. To save you getting into trouble, I would recommend removing your pin or screen lock before doing so.
Solved
Thank you so much it was the slider. It was something hardware. I looked for software solutions everywhere. I was so sad yesterday. Now I can actually keep the phone! Thank you very much!Since I moved the hardware slider and I could move software slider, a smile stayed on my face! Thank you so much!

Great advice, but i have to disagree with you, Android 10 still has Bluetooth issues. I'm looking to roll back myself because of it.

When an app asks for permissions, Allow and Deny options show up (regardless if for storage, or camera, etc.) but the allow button does not work. Deny works fine. So far i have unlocked the bootloader via Huawei website method (i guess you call that official) and flashed twrp. I have not rooted the phone yet (getting to that, but one problem at a time) and this is the first one.
I also saw someone else ask, but with now answer. Is there a way to get rid of the splash scren about the phone being unlocked and not trustable, press power button again to boot?
Do you have an special theme activated? Use the standard theme and try again
My 1st question to you is... when the window prompts, do you flag the option "don't ask to me again" or not? Because if yes, the only option avalaible becomes the "deny" one. This mechanism confused me too some time ago, when i wasn't understanding why it was blacked out; Android takes your flag as an "what a bore, just shut up and go **** ya' self leavin' me alone" answer, so it automatically deactivate the possibility to let it pass even one more time. If you didn't checked the flag, i have another question for you. Did you maybe recently made an update OTA, or with an update package found online? If the 2nd answer is what u've done, do a check for being sure that you have updated the phone with the correct package model. (BLN-21, BLN-22, ecc.) If neither this is your case, begin to tell us something more 'bout your phone configuration and start to think to backup your data and do a factory reset for eliminate this weird issue.
For the question of yours about the Nag screen (the splash one, for being clear) at the moment there is nothing that we can do to avoid it to pop out; just skip it pressing immediately the power button, is the best advice that i can do so far
I'll attempt to answer all these at once since I just got home from work. I wouldn't believe rooting the phone would cause this issue, but the problem happened before i unlocked the bootloader so I think that rules that out. I do not use a special theme, but I do use squarehome launcher for my phone, not the standard android launcher. Problem there is, the problem occurs with either launcher being active. And theme wise, I have a 3-d live aquarium for a background (which if turned off and just a static wallpaper, the same behavior occurs). As far as the phone update goes, it was an OTA update from 6 to 7, so still using stock, nothing sideloaded or flashed (yet). My data is all backed up via My backup pro, and doing a full backup with TWRP onto OTG is not a problem. I prefer not throwing in the towel, since setting up squarehome perfectly is a pain in the ass, but if it has to happen, it is better than manually setting permissions for every app that needs them. Not sure what a screenshot would do, think of any app asking for permission to use phone storage, both the allow button and the deny button visible (in white, nothing grey) and allow doesn't respond where deny responds fine. and then i have to go in manually and grant the permission after the fact. I suppose I could just root my phone and give that a whirl, seems some bloatware needs to be removed anyway, and i have the SU sitting on my hard drive already. Thanx for the responses, and let me know what you may have come up with before I just factory reset it which as mentioned, I am dreading doing.

Well, I didn't think that would be the answer, but you, sir were right. I rooted my phone and it seemed to have fixed the problem. I don't believe I made any other change whatsoever. Thank you very much. Glad I tried it anyway as you suggested even though I didn't think it would be the answer. I am not above saying thank you, and I was wrong. Kudos. Maybe this will help someone else. Good thing is, I planned on rooting it anyway, and you just kicked me in the pants to do it.
Rooted but allow button is still not activated
Hello guys,
I wanted to activate app twin so I rooted my phone BLN-L21 android 7.0
Allow button still deactivated.
Also the boot screen that asks to press power button still exist.
I noticed that if I activate whatsapp twin it won't work simultaneously .
I.e : when you open whatsapp you get all missed calles & messeges.
Also I was able to download themes through themes app ,but now it just views the local themes.
Note: superSu is installed.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you
Well, I think this is not related to OP (or at least partially), but when unlocking bootloader after setting up SD card as the default storage can break some things, like default themes.
Try to restore your firmware, and then unlock the bootloader.
If successful, you can now set up SD card as default storage.

Hello
I just bought this phone, and despite navigating the entire settings menu, I am unable to turn up the volume for the ringer. The vibrate icon shows on the status bar,and a notification on the quick settings shows that I'm on vibrate mode.
What have I overlooked??
Edit..disregard.i found the little sound rocker volume above the power button. What is the purpose of it since that's what settings are for ?

When your in a meeting or someplace where your attention is required and you don't want your phone blaring out it's downright disrespectful. And pulling out your phone to unlock and put in silence mode, says a lot to people. Now pulling it out, and hitting the slider makes people curious about the phone, it's just convenient. And with heptic feedback, you can feel what mode your on without even pulling it out.

Thank you. That makes sense. You sound like an expert on this device. I've received a few texts, but there's no light to blink. How can I get notified when the screen is off?
Also, where can I start looking to upgrade it to Android 10 and rooting?

Please understand my respectful reply...but it seems to me that you know very little about this phone...and you want to root it? My serious recommendation is that you stick with stock, go to the Play Store and install Oxygen Updater as this app will get you the latest available updates for the 7 Pro. Stay away from root, and boot loader unlocking as this will wipe the phone and several people have problems doing this. Just stick with stock.

I would agree with you on that, about sticking with stock in OOS. But, Root gives you access to tweak your device to your liking, and add extra security features. Android isn't Android unless your running at Root level. If your new, then I'd suggest you read first, and it helps if you know Linux.

Can you elaborate? What features?
I just upgraded to 10.0.2, and I will root it tonight following arden144's guide. I may not know all the technical details of this device yet, bit I've rooted every phone that I've owned.
My phone kept "falling asleep" for what seemed to be at random times when using the phone. I finally determined it was because of the one-handed mode. When I drag from the side, to the middle, which is supposed to activate the mode, it turns off the phone display off as if I pressed the button to do that, or double tapped it (which I have activated) - is anyone else experiencing this??
The other issue I have is that I recall having the open to pull the notification area down, and along with the brightness, it showed the volume too. I know that you are "supposed to" go to where the pen icon is to edit....but when I press on the three dots, the only option is brightness, so it's not even as if I have the option to enable that, even if I wanted to!
Thoughts? Is there a developer option I need to enable?
PS: I beg that you don't ask me for phone specifics if you're not sure that it would resolve the issue. I have no issue sharing that information with anyone. But if you don't know if Oreo, for example, is the cause...I'd rather not try to locate information that may never be used to troubleshooting, which would waste both of our times.
1: it should not turn off. Are you on an aftermarket display?
2: probably software issue. Did you flash update or OTA install?

Hi, thank you for the reply.
No I am not on an aftermarket display. I purchased this through Verizon.
Along those lines, all updates have been through the automated process built into the phone.
I agree that it appears to be software, or at least software that may have been installed. Is there a way to search by install date on my device? I may have to reverse engineer what application was installed when this happened (maybe about two months ago, probably less) - my only concern is I may uninstall that software but whatever change was made remains. Wondering if there is a "rollback" feature on the phone where I can just put it back to a certain point in time.

I would say the easiest is just to use lg UP to flash a slightly earlier version. I can't tell too much and I don't think an app being installed/uninstalled would matter.
Hi guys just making this thread to keep everyone as up to date as possible on the ColorOS 13 and what to expect. I'm currently downloading the beta firmware that's been released to the Ambassador's possibly to more users outside the ambassador program so here's the current file size and change log. Any questions fire away.
After 24 hours or so later from installing the beta I have noticed a few slight issues nothing show stopping so far so here's slight run down of things I have found so far:
1. Google Wallet:
Due to this being Beta firmware you are given this error,
I have yet to test to see if contactless payment might actually still work despite the warning message but I do plan to test it anyway.
2. Brightness issue:
After installing the new Beta I noticed that when the device was booting up the screen was lovely and bright. However as soon as it gets passed the boot animation all of a sudden the screen got really dark to the point that even screenshots became dark as well note the warning image above. After some digging about in the settings menu I came across an option within the dark mode settings called "Reduce contrast in low-light conditions". After i disabled that option the screen brightness and screenshots returned to normal again.
3. The Power Menu:
With this new update the power menu has changed quite a lot when you press the power button or the power + volume up depending on your setup you will no longer see the the Emergency, Restart or Power off buttons at the top. What you will see now is a sliding option in the middle of your screen to Restart or Power off. However not sure if it related to my first point but i no longer have options for quick access to my contactless payment options. Hopefully once the official version gets released having quick access to my payment options will return
Before:After:
Can you check these things for me?
1. Does ColorOS 13 allow hiding lock screen pattern? It's not there in ColorOS 12 despite being a feature in stock Android since forever.
2. Go to App info of Google Drive, then Open by Default. Does it have the option to turn off 'Open supported links'? It's there in stock Android 12 but not ColorOS 12. An example is provided below.
3. When you use App drawer mode (App drawer seperate with Home screen) and long press a user-installed app icon, does it allow uninstalling, or just removing the shortcut? I can do this in OneUI and OxygenOS 10 but not in ColorOS 12.
4. In App Drawer, when pressing the three dot icon above an app, does it allow going to 'App Info' of that app? Again, I can do this in OneUI but not ColorOS 12.
(the top option is App info)
These little things have been bugging me since updating to 12, so really appreciate if you can confirm if they have fixed them in ColorOS 13
I update to for android 13 and the phone is hot in idel and the battery drain fast
I have a question about the new version. Did they change how notifications behave on the lockscreen? At the moment notifications dissapear from the lockscreen in these scenarios:
- after you unlock and lock your phone, notifications disappear
- after a while (say 5 to 30 minutes) notifications dissapear from the lockscreen after having unlocked the phone.
All oppo, realme and (since oxygen 12) oneplus phones have this behavior.
I want to know if all notifications stay on the lockscreen no matter how many times you unlock your phone or how many hours they have been sitting there.
Any update to our questions?

I will wait up to an hour to see if it goes away!

Does this mean it automatically chooses the strongest? Or does it mean it automatically goes to 5G settings?
Second beta works perfect
Few days ago i sign up for the beta tester, yesterday evening i got notification for update to 13 beta.
Excited at first but after reading known issues (2nd beta) one of them is "laggy in some situation" i decided to stay at 12 and waiting for the stable version of 13.
Then i wake up this morning, open my phone then realize it has been automaticly updated overnight -_-
I use my phone looking for new features and functions for about an hour, didnt find any bugs except for the universal search in app drawer is not working. Turn that off and now the search function is working properly. Google wallet is not popular around here so i dont use them. So far i like the looks of the new ui.
Gonna update here if i found other bugs, the phone feels a little bit slower tho (barely noticable, 0.xx second slower), hopefully due to the phone still processing updates and optimization of the new os.
Hello.. I'm trying to research an issue (or known change) with my phone, but I don't quite know what to call it or how to describe it in a search engine, so hoping you humans might be able to either advise on the issue, or help me with the correct names of things so I can further investigate.
Phone: OnePlus 8T - upgraded to Android 12. After upgrading, my notifications no longer let me go straight to an app. I'll use Gmail for example. Before the upgrade if I had multiple new email, I'd have a single notification. I would swipe down and see it, and I could one of two things. 1. I could just click on the notification and it would take me to my Inbox. Or 2. I could tap the little side button that expanded the notification and click on one of the emails to be taken directly there.
Since Android 12 upgrade, I no longer have option 1. I bought a OnePlus 10 Pro - it came with Android 12 installed, and I have the exact same issue.
What do you call it when the notification is inside the main notification and how do I describe that to search for it? Notification Nesting?
Is this an OxygenOS or Android thing? I will repost in OnePlus if I need too, I just didn't know where to start with describing my issue.
Thanks
I am not on OxygenOS, but on another Android 12 based OS. Look through two menu options: Notifications in the main menu and Notifications in the OS specific menu. Maybe your issue is solved via the switch Heads up.

Thanks. I am beginning to think this is exclusive to Oxygen OS, and that there's no way to adjust the setting. I'll keep digging
