Hello, I am looking for a firmware for Samsung SMARTTHINGS ET-WV523. The device is locked to Vodafone and I cannot use it without a subscription to the supplier. Or if there is a way to unlock it.
An ideas, I have the same issue
Same issue here, any idea how to either unlock, flash a different firmware so it doesn't end in the trash can?

Hi guys, pretty much straight forward question... I have the S3 SM-R765A (LTE). I don't leave in the US... so basically i cannot use the LTE functionality as in Brazil the operators still does not have implemented eSim to the network.
However, i would like to change the phone number that it shows at "About device".
Is it possible?
Thanks
If you have not been able to activate the eSim how does it even show a number?
The first owner did activate it.
I guess you tried factory reset? Also have you already unlocked it? Saludos

Hey... yes I've tried factory reset - from software and hardware. Old number kept in both methods.
Now that you mentioned about unlocking.... is it possible? Did not find anything related.
Thanks
Hi, yes, it can be unlocked. There is a thread about it.
I contacted AT&as a non customer and applied for the unlock code, received it 48 hs later . However do note that unlocking procedure for the Gear S3 is not as explained by AT&T .

what is the point of unlocking the device? the OP is about changing the eSIM ICCID/existing phone number associated with the device. How can this be done? It does not seem to be actually related to an unlocked device which just lets it work on another carrier.

What kind of help you expect?
The Korean LTE device SM-R765L or S or K... never got public Firmware update for netOdin nor any other kind of usefull support...
Look into this 2 year old Thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch/gear-s3/please-help-bricked-gear-s3-sm-r765s-t3665558
All "we" know since this... in worst case SM-R775S Firmware can do "Emergency Repair"...
Best Regards

Thanks for the kind response. I just need some help with the number embedded into the phone. there is no way i can find to change it. I just wanted to edit the esim info. change the number maybe add my own sim. In this particular device that information is hardcoded or something.. need a way t make it editable please
@adnshah
For this kind of adventure... research... SM-R765S SM-R765L SM-R765K from Korea is wrongest choice...
No Combination Firmware nor normal Stock Firmware...
So chance of success is 0... ZERO... NONE...
Best Regards
P.S.:
About eSIM hacking I found only iPhone info... from Chinese users...
So IMHO eSIM crap is at the moment safe enough against "experiments"...
Hi family xda. Sorry for my bad English because it's not my native language. If you help me, you will be very happy to me.
I wanna ask some questions.
I recently bought a used SM-G930T. But i did don't know it's T mobile phone. I living in Turkey. I don't know this phone history(where did import to my country ? or who before owners, I buy that local phone shop.) Just one know it this phone import to my country abroad country. imei its the original imei write on the phone and it's box. Registered in someone's passport not illegal it's legal. I check it government site.
This phone release 6.0.1 Marshmellow. I wanna update this phone 7.0. I try manually but phone says me ''The device is up to date''. And then I download new firmware on sammobile for my phone model. SM-930T 7.0 T mobile firmware. I wanna update with odin. But I wonder it. I put in my simcard and I use this phone smoothly. I don't know this phone simlock or locked before owner. If the sim is locked the previously owner, somehow being unlocked. If I update this phone with odin 7.0. It's lockable again ? Thanks in advance.

Hi Everyone.
I'm currently using a refubrished Galaxy S8 plus, the model is SM-G955U.
As you can guess this is a phone destined for the USA market but currently I'm using it in Bangladesh which is in another continent.
As a result i didn't receive any updates after purchasing the phone and whenever i try to download update manually it says, "Registration Failed"
Can anyone help me to update my phone? I have attached screenshots in which you can see the current software version of the device.
Also if updating to official Samsung software isn't possible then can anyone suggest me custom ROMs for this model!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

You should get updates automatically irrespective of your location. Try the site https://firmware.science/ and select your phone and firmware version and follow the instructions .

Failed registration may be because of the fact you aren't using a US SIM card.
U models also.. don't have much custom ROM abilities. It's a locked Snapdragon. You can use firmware sites to be able to download updates respective of the model number.

you wouldn't have bootloader unlock and therefore no root, you posted this in the wrong section BTW.

Hello friends,
Recently I moved to Canada, I have the international model, G781B, I was wondering if it is possible to flash the canadian variant. Reason: 5G didnt work so far, tryied everything to make it work, even manually configuration of Bell network.
Comparing at the gsmarena.com, the hardware looks like the same.
I'm almost giving up and buying a new phone.

Most likely your carries uses mmwave 5g network, and international S20 FE 5g uses the other spectrums for 5g. There is no way a software flfash can change anyting, and I do not think that you can even flash software for thw wrong phone model, as odin check the BL version prior to flashing

Depends a little on what is happening.
If you don't get an OTA download, but you see on SamFirm that there is an new firmware for your phone. This can sometimes happen, in that case one way to resolve it is to download the new firmware from a reliable source and flash the phone with Odin. Once done it generally resolves itself, and the next OTA just works normally.
If there aint a new firmware for your phone like its a carrier specific version for your phone, then your out of luck, as you will have to wait for your carrier to make it available. Now in this case there are sometimes options, like i had one phone with a carrier software, but i could also flash the regions general firmware that was available, or one from an other european country. But how this works for your country, you will have to look that up.

Thanks bro i usually download with friza and never encountered any issues but il take your suggestion...my device is open and unlocked we in india dont get carrier locked devices bro...also can u share a valid and reliable link for sm-s908e with ins as region...thanks bro
For unlocked devices the upgrades usually take longer because they need to be sure that it will work with all possible carriers. As an example, I have a carrier unlocked device in Argentina and only 2 days ago I finally received the Android 13 update. So, did you checked in the official pages that there is a new version for your phone?

Maybe handy to look up on YouTube to see how the process goes, if you dont feel confident in doing this, maybe they can do it at some phone repair shop or something similar.
There should also be a lot of Indian people who wrote about flashing the rom of you phone in your own language.
