even after rooting and installing viper and viper folder is missing, simply create a new folder name Viper4android then Presets and copy the xml file there.
to apply it open the v4a app , tap on the headset icon at bottom and choose the preset
The folder is located in Android/data
Why doesn't my Viper4android android have the icons to pick between speaker, Headset, etc?

If you're talking about TeamDeWitt and Zackptg newer versions, I believe that would be because they pick the output channel automagically from the system.
Mildly inconvenient when you're trying to set everything up as you go, I agree...
Please reupload
yes! nice... not baaad. tested on yosoo z686

I also want to find the ringtone location so I can copy some ringtones I like from one phone to another. I can't find that location you put there. In my "Android" folder, there is no "system" folder.

The phone that you want to take the ringtone must be rooted. If it's rooted use an app like Root Explorer and go to the root folder (/). There you will find /system.

I just downloaded es file manager lite version then went to system/media/audio/notifications and copied one of the files to the music folder I now have a copy of one of those sounds. I don't no if that's what you mean or not but it did duplicate it. Oh. By no means do claim to know what I am doing so go into those folders at your own risk.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2469463
we cant install a zip from a custom recover but we can take the file and copy it to the system folder manually. worked perfectly for me using root explorer.
Please make sure to backup ur original file before replacing with the new modded file. after install restart ur phone and get ready for some increased volume lol.

Thank you for sharing this. For me, with custom equalizer settings the Note 3's volume takes a hit.
EDIT: Argh. Never-mind, It doesn't work with my bluetooth headphones.
I can edit any volume spectrum on the file if you need help...just remember to open that zip file.. And simply backup old file and replace it with the new higher volume file..change permission and owner...and reboot....My phone is insane loud now...
My ear piece seemed so low..and now it's extremely loud...

Are you using wireless headphones? I tried all three files and there was no difference. I am connected via apt-x so perhaps the mod only boosts SBC volume and not apt-x? I am not sure.
Ideally I would just like the Bluetooth volume boosted. I don't really need the others. I attached my file. Thanks!

I only edited the "Headset Rx device" to 2.70.5% There seems to be no values within bluetooth like you said, but it seems to revert back to headset sbc settings....so lets try this. I don't have a bluetooth to test this on.

Thanks. So...I named my old with .bak at the end and copied the new one but now my phone won't boot past the AT&T logo. I had changed to the correct permissions and everything. The original is on the phone but I also attached it above. Question is; How do I get it back on my phone or restore the one on there?
You can use flash Gordon to flash these.

What did you do for the phone not to boot up am curious? If all you did was just copy the volume file I posted for you it was nothing more then I edited the headset rx volume just a little more then stock..Didn't change or mess with any other volumes...Very weird that happened or did you flash the files from the link the op has? No one has to flash ANYTHING just side load it...

I removed the .txt because I didn't see a .txt file in the folder. Lol. It's working now, I was able to flash MJ5 via the MJ5 restore thread. Bluetooth is as it has been though. Should I try again? =X

Lol. :silly:
The size is different from the default file too however, 98kb vs 158kb. When I click your dropbox link it shows the correct file but when I download it, it's a .txt file. I have a feeling it's going to have the same effect so I'm wary to try again.

I believe I saved your file, ill just zip it for you then extract it..then copy and paste it in the right folder...change permission and owner and reboot...
Question that is strange my file is 158kb in my system/etc. As well? When I extracted your zip that file was smaller for some reason?
Let me confirm..Your on AT&T Samsung note 3 correct? I'll just copy mine straight out of my phone and hopefully change that value that will increase Bluetooth.
Try this one...see if you think you notice a change in Bluetooth volume..if so then I can change it higher.. https://db.tt/RJQTzei4

I'm almost in the same boat as you . but my primary mic is dead (fuzz)
So far I have tried these tips I've picked up, yet none have worked for me, but perhaps they'll help you.
I have tried with and without Microphone noise suppression (settings - call)
Carefully taking the sticker of the mic to expose the mic.
Reinstalling rom.
I belive you can't reroute the secondary mic to primary. And I've see a comment on thread (low mic prob for d2303 on kit kat) where someone has successfully fixed their lollipop d2303 by editing the mixer files with a root browser.
Good luck!

Can't save the change. Btw do you mean to pick a number between 92-96 or text in the value "92-96"?
Does my error have something to do with permissions? I'm rooted and using Root Browser.

I see thank you. I've checked and Root Browser is granted/allowed root permission. And a root checker app confirms root. Although it is kinguser I'm rooted with, and I'm sometimes skeptical about kinguser.
I tried different .xml editor apps. And browsers.
Ex file explorer is telling me "system" and "ect" files are both read and write files when I tap on properties. Although oddly, I copied the mixer_paths.xml file and tried to paste it to "system" file (to see if I could edit it there then replace for the one in "etc" file) but when trying to paste to "system" file I got the error: Copy task failed. EROFS (Read-only file system)
Hello.
I want to modify some media profiles and mixer paths files but I can't it says is a read only filesystem. My system partiion is RW.
What is going on here? Any recommendation?
On Android oreo can modified those files but not in Pie.
