I just downloaded es file manager lite version then went to system/media/audio/notifications and copied one of the files to the music folder I now have a copy of one of those sounds. I don't no if that's what you mean or not but it did duplicate it. Oh. By no means do claim to know what I am doing so go into those folders at your own risk.

MGS codec unlock sounds

i am working on trying to figure out how to make my phone lock and unlock like the mgs codec. i have got the files on the phone and it works but is way to loud. i have attached the files i used if someone with more audio editing experince wants to take a crack at it.
the files have to be in .ogg format and be labeled Lock.ogg and Unlock.ogg. i used advanced wma workshop to convert the files from mp3.
to put them on your phone if anyone wants this
1 reboot into recovery
2 mount /system
3 open cmd and nav to your sdk/tools folder
4 pull system/media/audio/ui (this will backup the files before you replace them)
5 copy the backed up ogg files from your sdk/tools folder to another safe location and put the modified ogg files into the sdk/tools folder
6 push Lock.ogg system/media/audio/ui
7 push Unlock.ogg system/media/audio/ui
8 unmount /system and reboot
also if anyone does do this could someone upload the backed up files for me i didn't think about doin the pull till i wrote this up and i don't feel like doing a nandroid restore to get them back.
edit my buddy confirmed that i had these backwards i guess that is what i get for not listening to the files first. i reuploaded with correct file names
what if you just took the audio files and decreased the volume of the actual file?

that is what i was thinkin just didnt know how to till my buddy told me when i showed him the lock and unlock on my phone. i am gonna go work on this somemore and i'll report back.
I was wondering if you could walk me thru the steps in more detail... I'm not sure how to proceed past step 3! not sure if its cuz i have a mac... sorry this is my first post
Nice will try this
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
using audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
i used the amplify effect and dropped both ogg files down some
seems to be where i want the sound at, but you can use audacity (which is free btw) to drop it more if you want
http://www.mediafire.com/?etknj3uiv55ql99
fwiw you can adb push these while the phone is running if you adb remount before it (need s-off)
so i tried this through the mount/system through clockmod and was able to push this files but it will not switch to the files i pushed, just uses the system defaults any suggestions? im thinking of just overwritting the rom zip with the new zip sounds and reflashing sounds good?

I used root explorer and just put the files in the system/media/audio/UI and did a restart and it worked.
right on ill give that a try
hey I used rootexplorer as well but i have a question because it does appear to be working. so did you MOVE or COPY all the files (mp3 + ogg) into the UI folder? It does not show up.

i firsted removed the defaults and moved the new files works like a charm but for some strange reason the two sounds merge when i lock phone and the unlock works great not sure whats up may restore originals and try again but first attempt worked fine with the deleting and moveing, i was adding a boot animation and before i knew it both play? no biggie really they overlap each other so its not some drawn out tone

Make sure you did not put the .mp3 and .ogg file in the same place just the .ogg

nah, i converted the mp3s to .ogg files since i lowered the sound volume since originals were enough to give me a heart attack lol

make a folder called data, and a folder called local inside that. put you bootanimation.zip inside the local folder. then close everything. rightclick on the media folder and click add to archive, assuming you have winzip. then on the popup screen name it [whateveryouwant].zip and change the compression method to store and click done. now put that on the root of your sd card and flash it using cwm
I tried that and still it won't install. I must be doing something wrong.

it NEEDS to be store compression method
or you could put the bootanimation.zip on your sd card and use root explorer to move it to data local

Troubles with custom ringtones and .nomedia file

Hello,
I've been searching through the forums but I cannot find anyone with the same problem as me, here it goes:
I copied a mp3 file onto the ringtones folder, and then I can select it to be used as my ringtone. As I do not want to listen this when I'm listening music, I've aded a .nomedia file to the ringtones folder. Then, the Play Music app does not shows anymore this ringtone. This is what I expected.
Later, when I've received a call, the ringtone I've selected did not sound, instead the phone ringed with the standard "Triton" ringtone. Went to sound settings, and my custom ringtone is not there.
Removing the .nomedia file from the "Ringtones" folder, makes the custom ringtone appear again on "ringtone selection" options.
I did this many times on my old Galaxy Nexus phone without troubles, but It's not working on my N5, Do you know if this is a common issue, or I'm doing something wrong?
Thanks!
Try an .ogg instead. If that doesn't work, move the .ogg to /system/media/audio/ringtones

I've added .ogg file at Ringtones on "sdcard", and did not show.
The next thing was copy the file to /system/media/audio/ringtones with es file explorer and restarted the phone before checking. No luck neither.
Removing the .nomedia file from the "sdcard" folder, I can select the ringtone again at settings. Seems that somehow the .nomedia is also read by "settings"

.nomedia is global. Put it in a folder and android assumes no media.

Not sure if this matters, but did you check permissions?

Thanks for the info, I think I was using this on my old galaxy nexus and worked as I wanted, but all the clues point to what you said.

Put the .nomedia in the media (/sdcard/media/) folder instead of ringtones (/sdcard/media/audio/ringtones/) folder. It should work

[Q] Files copied back to Download do not show up

Hello,
After backing up my phone and flashing the final 5.0, I copied the files in "Download" back to my phone. Strangely I cannot see them when I open Download from apps. With a file explorer I can see them though I've downloaded some stuff and those are visible together with the copied files with a file explorer, so the path must be right.
Do I have to do some operation in order to have everything accessible from Downloads? I feel very noob...
The download app only sees files that IT downloaded. When you wipe, download app will only see new downloads. Not files already in the folder.

Sharing .apk files

Hi guys, it looks like Huawei disables the option of sharing .apk files? Correct me if I'm wrong. Any others files types (.Mp3, jpg, mov, etc...) I can simply press n hold, then there is the option "share" pop up in the file manager. Is there a way to get around this?
Rename apk to zip, share it and rename it back lol
