Sharing .apk files - Huawei Mate 9 Questions & Answers

Hi guys, it looks like Huawei disables the option of sharing .apk files? Correct me if I'm wrong. Any others files types (.Mp3, jpg, mov, etc...) I can simply press n hold, then there is the option "share" pop up in the file manager. Is there a way to get around this?

Rename apk to zip, share it and rename it back lol

2.0 Music

Can somone upload the standard android 2.0 music.apk file? The one that comes with the damage control rom is the HTC music app, which is just slow and annoying to use. I would much prefer the standard android music 2.0 or 2.1 apk file if anyone could upload it.
Thanks
Got this from DarchVanilla
thanks a bunch. I'm just curious, how did you manage to get the music file out of his installer? Did you like open it via rar or or something?

No problem. I just opened the update zip with winrar and went to the system/app folder and pulled it out.

change the extension .apk to .zip and unzip it. keep in mind you have to sign that zip before you change it back to apk when you closed it up. just use photoshop or anything to edit the pics.

i use a mac, and i use the app called BetterZip. you can drag and drop .apk's into it and it will show you the contents. from there you can extract (drag and drop) what you would like and then simple add them back in (drag and drop). after youre happy with what youve modded you can then save the apk directly and proceed to adb push it to your phone. no "signing" required. very simple.
whatever you do, DO NOT rename the .apk to .zip and try to edit it, etc, etc. it will not work. maybe thats when you need to "sign" it or whatever. but using BetterZip there is none of that required. it can directly read and write the apk and requires nothing special.
another tip is if you are using photoshop to edit the images you should "save for web & devices" it makes much more optimized/smaller files

My PC see apk an rar files, so it's not it.
Well you should be able to just change the file name to xxxxx.apk. You should download 7zip and associate .apk with that instead of winrar. But you might have to change the file name in properties instead of maybe just right clicking and rename.

I fixed problem on my own, but thanks for helping guys.
Make sure that on your computer, you have 'See Hidden File Extensions' in your folders option. You can then rename it and you can change the type.

APKs are just ZIP files. Extract the files from the RAR, archive them as ZIP and then just rename to ".apk". I know this because this is how I theme.

How to install 'non-apk' apps in adroid!?

Hi,
I often dowload apps that come in a zip, and once unzipped are not in apk format.
For example, after being unzipped will usually include the following:
android manifest.xml
classes.dex
resources.arsc
a 'Meta-INF' folder
a 'res' folder
and a 'lib' folder
Was wondering how to get these packages installed. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
Those are usually things you have to flash through recovery (install zip option), or install through MetaMorph if they're themes.
Hi,
just saw, you were faster.
have the same problem, in my case a *. sis file.
I don´t really know what to do with those files.

NetJay
Was a game I downloaded if that helps any1 understand.

This folders are the typical folders found in an apk file. Actually, all you have to do in this case is to just rename the .zip file to .apk without unzipping it and it should work. I do that when my apk files that I downloaded comes out as .zip. It works for me all the time.

While they commonly will give you an .apk file, sometimes especially if you download it from your android device directly, it downloads as a .zip file. In that case you will have to rename it.

I just downloaded es file manager lite version then went to system/media/audio/notifications and copied one of the files to the music folder I now have a copy of one of those sounds. I don't no if that's what you mean or not but it did duplicate it. Oh. By no means do claim to know what I am doing so go into those folders at your own risk.
