2.0 Music - Hero CDMA Themes and Apps

Can somone upload the standard android 2.0 music.apk file? The one that comes with the damage control rom is the HTC music app, which is just slow and annoying to use. I would much prefer the standard android music 2.0 or 2.1 apk file if anyone could upload it.
Thanks

Got this from DarchVanilla

thanks a bunch. I'm just curious, how did you manage to get the music file out of his installer? Did you like open it via rar or or something?

No problem. I just opened the update zip with winrar and went to the system/app folder and pulled it out.

Any way to push .apk's on a computer with no admin rights?

Or am I just out of luck? I'm at work and don't have administrator rights, so I can't install ADB drivers either. Is there another program I can use?
(depending on the app) just use a file manager to install.

I'm needing to install a couple of HTC apps that aren't included with the RegawMOD app (quickoffice, pdfreader, and the navigator interface). Is that possible using a file manager?

yes it is.
should work, i think you can install new .apk's through file manager, not overwrite. or thats my experience.

(depending on app) file explorers use package installer to install the apps, overwriting is more than possible.

Yup
you can, and if it says "Install failed" or something close to that, you can always use the "move" or "cut" function in the explorer to just paste it into the directory you want it in. then reboot.

No reboot required if you're using root explorer. Matter of fact, I always export my ringtones directly from SD card to sys/media/audio/ringtone w/ every flash of a new rom, and they'll stay in the system for the duration of future flashes (until complete wipe anyways..)
Thanks guys. I was able to use ASTRO File Manager and it worked like a charm.
Now I just gotta find a few more apk's that I need.

When you plug the usb in does it show that it detected a device but can install the drivers? If so and you have the sdk tool kit on your pc you can push via the adb command to the phone. I had the same issue at work could see or load any drivers for my phone but was able to push everything to my phone.

change the extension .apk to .zip and unzip it. keep in mind you have to sign that zip before you change it back to apk when you closed it up. just use photoshop or anything to edit the pics.

i use a mac, and i use the app called BetterZip. you can drag and drop .apk's into it and it will show you the contents. from there you can extract (drag and drop) what you would like and then simple add them back in (drag and drop). after youre happy with what youve modded you can then save the apk directly and proceed to adb push it to your phone. no "signing" required. very simple.
whatever you do, DO NOT rename the .apk to .zip and try to edit it, etc, etc. it will not work. maybe thats when you need to "sign" it or whatever. but using BetterZip there is none of that required. it can directly read and write the apk and requires nothing special.
another tip is if you are using photoshop to edit the images you should "save for web & devices" it makes much more optimized/smaller files

grab the rom you want the sound from, open it up and pull out the files you want (they are in system/media/audio/...) and put them in /sdcard/media/audio/... (use the same folders obviously)
Does this need to be done by loading each rom, or is there any way to extract them from my PC and put in SD folder and move to system wih astro? I cant seem to figure it out
Can someon please explain the steps in extracting the audio files, for some reason I cannot get them from my nandroid backup, and I've tried un zipping a rom, and could not find them their either. Sorry for the noob question, thanks in advance

What do you mean open it up? As in loading the rom to the phone or looking at system files?

I tried downloading this, unzipping it to a certain folder (with windows and WinRAR), I open the new folder (2010-06-27.17.58.31), then there are 7 .IMG files in them. I get the same thing when I though it would be as easy as opening up a nandroid backup and getting the files from there.
Can someone fill me in on what step im missing? Thanks!
Anyone know this answer?
What you need is a full system dump. The link you were given is to a nandroid backup. Try this one:

1.6 SemcIME

Can someone give me the older semcime from 026? I already asked for it, but I got some non-installable HtcIME crap
Thanks in advance

Hey, umm I managed to delete this from my phone, but this version won't install. Does it have to be specific to the firmware?

you may need to enable "Unknown Sources" to be able to install apps that are not from the market. Make sure you have a file browser (EStrongs File Manager is good and on the market), copy the apk file to your SD card using a PC. open EStrongs and browse to the location. install.
Oh, it doesn't work :'(
SemcIME is already in the system
I need the old default keyboard back, or a very similiar. Are there any?

Sharing .apk files

Hi guys, it looks like Huawei disables the option of sharing .apk files? Correct me if I'm wrong. Any others files types (.Mp3, jpg, mov, etc...) I can simply press n hold, then there is the option "share" pop up in the file manager. Is there a way to get around this?
Rename apk to zip, share it and rename it back lol
