Ever since I updated to Android 10, I can consistently recreate this issue. Any time I turn on my GPS, I will immediately lose mobile data, signified by loss of data service and by the exclamation point on the service/signal bars of the toolbar. A quick toggle of Airplane Mode will re-enable the data. Any thoughts on how to fix this?
Did u have a factory reset before upgrading to Android 10?

No, it was an OTA and I don't recall reading that being a requirement for the update nor it being an option. Was that an option for others?
I think I managed to find a workaround which doesn't involve a factory reset for the same issue on my OnePlus 6T:
Settings -> System -> Reset options -> Reset app preferences (this doesn't affect apps data)
Settings -> Apps & notifications -> See all XXX apps -> (3 dots in the upper right corner) -> Show system -> Clear storage and cache of the following apps:
Google Maps
Google Play services
Google Services Framework
LocationServices
Phone Services
Fused Location
Google Location History
OPMmsLocation
I wiped Dalvik cache in TWRP.
I'm not sure all steps are necessary but resetting apps preferences is the key one I think. It's going to reset the permissions of all apps but it's a good alternative to reinstall everything from scratch. The issue of the GPS fix in Google Maps hasn't come back for me since.

It's not a requirement but for sure helps with 90% of problems like yours.
Most of the issues with bt, gps, mobile data etc can happen because of big updates and usually it helps to have a clean system.

Hey guys, I have been experiencing a problem since yesterday: Although syncing is activated (I tripple checked!) my google account does not sync anymore as long as I use mobile data (other apps like google chrome are able to use mobile data, however, so I am able to surf the internet). This also means that I don't get any emails in push from my gmail account. As soon as I switch to WI-FI, syncing works flawlessly, emails are pushed without any delay. Manual syncing works (pulling down in the gmail app or via the options in the google account settings on the phone).
Another weird thing is the signal status icon. When using WI-FI it is white, as soon as I switch to mobile data, it turns orange (I'm using nova launcher).
So I decided to completly wipe the phone and then reinstalled CM 11s 33R which I downloaded directly from the CM-page. I reinstalled all the apps afresh which means I don't think I carried any wrong settings from my last ROM over to the newly installed one.
Anybody got an idea what the reason could be that there is no syncing anymore and how I can resolve this?
Hi,
im facing the same problem since yesterday morning. I've recognized the exact same issues with the same situation.
As long as im in WLAN all is good. As soon as i am on mobile-data network push is not working anymore. I has been working before fine, but till yesterday it stopped. I didnt change anything in the configuration.
Very strange. I would be very happy if anybody has a glue on how to fix that.
I've also made twice a reset (once per TWRP, and another reset with android reset function) but both didnt help to get rid of that problem.

Push and sync works again with my device. Also, the orange color in the Signal Status is gone and it is White again.
Found something in the OPO-Forum (thanks to gabriel3714):
Go to:
google.com /Settings /security
under section "account permissions" find "apps and websites" and click "view all" then try and revoke access to you OPO and any other items that shouldn't be there. Then restart your phone.
If anybody still has Troubles, here are some other things to try which were sent to me in an email by Matt Oli:
If Sync isn't working when you're using your data, here are a few things to check for:
•Make sure that Background data is enabled◦Phone settings> Data Usage> Scroll down to Gmail and make sure that "Restrict background data" is not selected.
•Disable Power saving mode
•Clear your App's cache and data◦Open Phone settings> Select Application manager> Swipe to "All"> Choose Gmail> Clear cache and data
•Limit your folder size◦Open Gmail via a desktop> Settings> Forwarding and POP/IMAP> Next to "IMAP access" select "Limit folder size"
•Try Unsyncing your Gmail account temporarily. Try this a few times.◦Settings> Accounts> Google> Select your account> Uncheck Gmail> Check Gmail
•Resetting IMAP◦Gmail> Settings> POP/IMAP> Disable POP & IMAP> Save Settings> Re-enable IMAP> Save Settings
•Remove Gmail Account and setup again◦Phone Setting> Accounts> Google> Select you email account> "Remove account"
◦Re-establish account.
Solution to your problem
Hi, I had same issue.
Go to Keep website. Remove all shared notes. (Delete them, Don't Archive). Go back to Keep on Android. Clear data from Settings -> App -> Keep and launch app again.
Problem solved.
Hi im facing an issue with google sync, im not able to get the game data sync option in google sync. i have updated google play services, play store..and also play games. kindly help me if know any solution.
I am currently running on cm11 rc3...it was working before..now its not...
Many people are experiencing a bug in Lollipop where WiFi will remain turned on, even if it is turned off in Settings via toggle or quick toggles or in airplane mode. My guess is that this causes the ridiculous battery drain that people have by showing the WiFi state as connected to apps, which then trigger wakelocks in attempts to sync, resulting in high standby mode drain. Well, I think I may have found a solution, as this worked for me. Before this fix, I flashed clean from the factory images and I had the WiFi bug, so my issue was NOT due to leftover data from Kitkat.
1) Flash the KITKAT 4.4.4 factory image from Google's website. Note that this will wipe everything, including your "sdcard" partition (eg music, photos, etc) so have a backup!
2) Do a minimal amount of set up (skip past everything, don't sign in, etc).
3) Either Lollipop OTA update or sideload the OTA.
4) After updating, sign in.
5) Factory reset the phone by going into Settings > Backup & Reset > Factory Data Reset.
6) Sign in to your Google account and set up as normal.
Hope this works for people! It solved my crazy battery drain!
Same problem
How do you flash the KITKAT 4.4.4 factory image from Google's website?
So a few days ago, my phone started showing the "Unfortunately, google play services has stopped" message whenever I used google maps and CF.lumen. CF.lumen will straight away crash while google map will still allow you to use it but my gps was slightly off since it takes a long time to lock.(almost never lock accurately).
Before this, I had to use the app called "disable services" to enable systemupdateservices of google play services in order to have sleep cause otherwise my phone will not be able to sleep and will consequently drain battery very fast.
I'm using elementalx 6.17 and cataclysm jan 21 build.
Just go to apps in your settings and go to all apps then spot the Google Play Services app and tap on it. Clear it's cache, clear application data and reboot to recovery and wipe cache partition. Then boot up the phone. In case if The data cannot be cleared. Ensure Android Device Manager is disabled as a device administrator in phone security settings

Tried it, still the same. The problem is not fixed yet..
I think if it doesn't still work, that should be am error with the Services library, if you got root, I can send you my mod app and it's lib and try to replace them... Just show me your phone model do that I can make that for you

Bought the P20 a few days ago and realized that the phone has constant wifi activity even when leaving it idle. The two traffic flow arrows for wifi is always on. This constant network activity behavior does not happen when using 4G connection.
I have tried everything below without luck. Anyone having same issue?
1. Factory reset a few times without installing any apps except those that came with the phone. So I don't think the problem is caused by apps that are not bundled with the phone.
2. Used different wifi access points from different routers
3. Looked at the wifi data usage ranking in Settings and I suspect there is something irregular about Google Backup Transport. Searched around the Internet and people mention that this process/service is used for backing up app data, call records etc to Google Drive. So I went to Settings > System > Backup & restore > Google Account and see that under Active Backups everything is marked as "Waiting to backup". Used adb commands "bmgr fullbackup" etc. to manually trigger backup. The backups worked but the problem still exist. Even tried updating Google Play Services to latest beta version but no luck.
U solved it? i have the same issue.
Hi all,
Just got my OnePlus 7 Pro and I am very happy about it. When setting up I signed in to my Google Account and used OnePlus switch to transfer my apps, data from my OnePlus 6 to OnePlus 7 pro.
The only thing which doesn't work is the backup now option in Google backup setting. I tried everything except a factory reset. Deleting account, disabling and enabling Google backup, deleting cache and data for Google, Google play services, even adb backup now.
On my OnePlus 6 everything worked perfectly and I was able to backup.
Is it just me? Or is it for everyone like that?
There is a fix, and that's setting security to 'None' (so no pin or password). But as soon as you enable security the button turns grey again. I really need the security for Google pay.
Thanks.
Edit: started working after 24 hours.

Considering that some items are still "Waiting to Backup," it sounds like it's not finished yet. Of course, I may be wrong, but when you change the security settings, the phone might allow you to hit the backup button but not doing anything new in the background because it is still working on a backup. That's my speculation.

I have the same exact problem. I am coming from a Galaxy S10 Plus. The only way I can get it to work is when I disabled security to lock the phone, once I do that the Backup Button lights up and I am able to backup. Yea its a temp fix but at least I can back everything up. Just an FYI I setup my phone by using the Google backup from my S10.
Same here, I even had this on my OnePlus 5. Guess this might be a little bit buggy...
Resolved
solution (Worked for me)
Go to settings -> accounts -> select your Google account
under auto sync - Make sure all items selected.
I was enabled sync only for couple of items. then I changed it to all then I checked backup settings "Backup " button became accessible.
Resolved for me:
Removed pin, password and fingerprint from Settings -> Security & lock screen -> Screen Lock.
Back up now button became accessible again.

If that's the case then you either have a decrypted device or a bug with your encrypted device

You may be right. My oneplus 7 pro is t mobile branded but I have flashed international version using this tutorial. The phone security settings says it is encrypted but there might be a bug with the encryption. Its not rooted or bootloader unlocked.
Any idea how to resolve the bug in the encryption?
After 3 days of waiting my button is still greyed out.
Are there any other solutions?
edit: Now after 4 days, the button isn´t greyed out anymore and I can push it. I haven´t done anything the last 2 or 3 days.
Hey guys, sorry for double posting but I wanted everyone to know.
I made a mistake on my own and ended up in a bootloop after flashing a kernel.
So i had to wipe my device and install Oxygen OS again. In the setupprocess with data recovery by cloud I noticed there was NO backup from my Oneplus 7 Pro.
My backup button was visible in the end and I knew there were backups from it. But not when I wanted to recover it. Really weierd.
Has anyone with the greyed out backup button restored a backup successfully??
