Hi Guys
Last night I've got my HTC one E8 dual sim unicom version and yeah it's full of chinese apps and reminds me a lot of the first htc one m7 dual sim I bought and struggled to use it
Rooted and twrp recovery is installed.
Now I've used social network plugins of facebook, twitter, instragram and now all of them works in blinkfeed luncher however twitter has some issues ( Edit: twitter works fine ).
Ideally if there was any custom rom for it it would be easier for me to swap the files and do more investigations.
Since there is an international version of htc m8 which support dual sim I'm thinking to port it to E8 BUT I need at least the system dump or a custom rom of the former. I have a 100% certainity that the port would work nicely.
Anybody is willing to help ?!

I've used M8 dual sim system files on my E8 and it worked nicely except for the camera which I know why wouldn't it work.
social networks and google apps works nicely but still blinkfeed is till showing chinese contents for the news and it's probably due to cid thingy.
anybody has any Idea ??

I guess I made a progress !!!!!!!!!!!!
So let's cut it short
Do these at your own risk
1- Have an HTC one E8 dual sim (China Unicom version).
2- Have faith, a lot of faith.
3- Unlock the bootloader and flash the twrp recovery + SuperSU.
4- S-off using the paid Sunshine (Firewater won't work).
5- Super CID your device.

Will it work ?! of course yes and you will enjoy the blink feed in your language

I've tried to cook a rom for our E8 dual sim using dsidxa and although I have some success in doing that. The rom did not boot and always reboot into fastboot
If I can just lay my hand on any custom rom for either M8 or E8 dual sim, my porting will be easier !

Currently I have almost flawlessly working WWE (Honestly Multi language ) rom with camera working

Today, i found a TWRP backup from M8 dualsim (M8_DUGL). i tried to restore that one to my E8.
And boom, It booted with no error.
But It have some issues:
+ Camera doesnt work.
+ Mic (for call) doesnt work (You can hear caller voice but they dont hear your voice)
+ Blinkfeed still Chine source (But i'm not sure, because in my University, internet was block by proxy server).
@Oweida: can you help me to solve that issues?? thanks in advance.
I am so excited. Cant wait to try custom rom. I am so annoy with cannot use blinkfeed with my E8. After custom rom is released, E8 would be my perfect phone.

It's ready but I'm just adding fine touches and deodexing it however you should be knowing by now that you need to unlock your bootloader, gain s-off using sunshine.apk and finally superCID your device otherwise no point of trying any custom rom to get rid of chinese blinkfeed content !

You can get Blinkfeed in the language of your choice without flashing the ROM as shown here
Although it would be nice to run a true multilanguage and debloated ROM.
@Oweida: are you sure you didn't modify anything to get the camera working? Since it's a different camera then the M8 one would expect different drivers are needed?

I own a HTC ONE E8 MEC_DWGL Dual Sim Indian model. I have flashed a custom rom to it and everything is working fine. But, I would like to know if there is a possible way to update the source from which the OS updates are made. I would technically like to download from the official website. Unfortunately I lost the backup of my stock ROM. Also, if possible, could you please share the stock rom, which I did not find anywhere on the web(Might be because of my poor googling skills:crying.

Hi,
I have HTC U11 dual SIM europe.
and have tested the Viper rom and the MaximusHD all work fine and also the Leedroid roms work very well.
Althoug I found a problem that my phone was always awake with the process A800000.ssusb (the thing cames and goes randomly)
found that the only rom for now that doesnt have this problem for me is the MaximusHD 3.1.0
maybe its a problem only with my phone.
anyway the 3 roms I indicated will work fine. Please notice that you must first be on Oreo 8.0.

Last week I made upgrade to Pie stock rom, beacuae I was serching a fix to a problem that I discovered later and fixed on hardware.
But since I've done that I've seen that a lot of apps can't work properly and others don't work at all, whatsapp tweaker and smart lockscreen protector are the principal witch I need to use and it's not possibile
I tested also the unofficial xposed framework, but to be sure I prefer to wait the original one...
I was thinking to come back to Oreo but I'm not able to find a stock rom, Do you know where I can find it?
Or Do you know if everything come compatibile with this rom soon? Some suggestions to make these apps working on Android 9?

Pie is low key trash, apps are crap and aren't up to date. Plus I'm a fan of some of the Sony apps not available on pie. So I'm a g8142 oreo stock. If u need an ftf. I can provide u a France ftf but I have a modem ftf ce1 that will make it run normally. I can also provide WiFi calling for T-mobile if u need vote as well

It's been a good couple of years since I've participated in these forums.
I've an U12+. Can't say I'm exactly happy with it however, and now even more so as HTC have confirmed Android 10 isn't on the horizon at this stage, and as for v11 forget about it. See below for the exact reply I received.
For your device, upon reviewing the android 10 is currently not yet available on your phone and in Australia. I’ve also confirmed that we still do not have the time frame when will the latest android version be rolled out.
I've been unable to root my device as I cannot find the stock ROM for it if I ever needed to roll-back to stock or for some other backout reason.
So with this said, what are my options for a major update to either Android 10 or even 11? I know there's the ASOP project but what else is out there in terms of updating options?
Really looking for suggestions/options in terms of an upgrade.

I have an Australian variant, and I don't think they released the stock ROM for this and I forgot to grab a copy back when I received the v9 OTA.
So you'd recommend Viper as an alternative ROM? Are there any other 3rd party ROMs other than Viper, ASOP / GSI ( I'm pretty sure GSI is at v11 ).
Viper can be found in the ROMs section of these forums?

According to mikalovtch there'll be an android 11 viper rom for the U12+, soon™. So waiting just a little longer might be worth it.

I just bought the device a couple of days ago, and bricked it trying to root it, and i was stuck for more than 12 hours in a bootloop, but i managed to get the original firmware at the Russian forums ( i don't know if I'm allowed to say it's name or post a link)
Anyways, if you want the stock firm ware for the device pm me your CID.
