Hi, ..can I ask if the google dialer framework magisk module has an effect on the data connections and google services. Of late, I'm getting dropped wifi and while my data is on I get an exclamation mark in the network signal..this means my google services aren't working. The issue rectifies itself once I unlock the device!
I don't have a lot of modules except for this and fde.ai, device personalization services, cloudflare dns, youtube vanced, camera2api...I started noticing this issue when I enabled the dialer framework and google phone app (as default)...I did disable oneplus dialer apk as it was interfering the with the outgoing call...
Please let me know your thoughts

Is anybody else having issues getting the new "Trusted Places" Smartlock option to work?
I have 2 google accounts, root access and a custom kernel, and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
Running Official Lollipop Factory Image and Franco Kernel.
I have location services turned on for both accounts, and I've also tried using Google Maps defined locations and Custom Locations to my exact position, still get a pin lock prompt every time.
Applied the xxx.438 file from APKMirror.
Cheers All.
I am running stock Lollipop on my N5. When I told trusted places to use my work address it didn't work. I modified the address a little (large campus) and it worked then. However as I walk around the campus the screen will lock again. When I used the map to mark my location, it worked as well. At home it works great. Only caveat is battery life seems to take a slight hit using Trusted Places. The GPS fires up when you wake the device up at the PIN screen.
I just wish Google would have allowed WiFi locations as well. I had a Tasker / Secure Settings profile setup that would unlock based on WiFi that worked great. Secure Settings isn't 100% Lollipop compatible yet. The developer is said to be working on it.

I'm guessing the OP has the latest version of Play Services since he is able to add a trusted place and he said he applied the xxx.438 apk.
thanks - didn't realize op meant .438 apk for the 6.5 play services.
Cheers all. A new revision of 438 was released today. Working properly now. Thread can be closed.

Still doesn't work for me...
Doesn't seem to work for me...
Using the Google Play Services 6.5.87 (1599771-438), I set my trusted location to a custom location that's the place where I am (at home) - not the google maps location as it is a bit off - but I always need to swipe the pattern. Am I doing something wrong? Anyone else for whom it doesn't work?
It works just fine for the trusted devices and I can see the location icon in the status bar every time I unlock the phone.
I've already checked all the threads and researched about this for 5 days now.
Background: this all started to happen when I cleared data for google services framework. After clearing it, the wifi signal turned grey and I can't connect to google playstore anymore.
Read carefully: I have already tried all of these,
- turn wifi on/off
- cleared data for download manager
- not a router problem.
- turn airplane mode on/off
- cleared cache/ clear data for google play store, google play services, google service framework
- remove/add my google account
- editing hosts file (my hosts file only has one line, no second IP address. But regardless, i tried adding a second one with #)
I literally tried every known method here on the internet. Any help would be appreciated.
Sir,
Please give us some details about your device.
Thanks
Hi all.
Out of the blue I got this error message every minute.
I use Unofficial Beanstalk ROM 5.0.2.
Stock kernel.
I cleared cache, and Dalvik. I also cleared cache of Google Play Services and Google Services Framework.
But this error keeps coming back.
I haven't changed anything in the phone nor have I messed with any system settings.
I can't find any decent solution to the problem.
The apk shows version 7.5.71 (1955121-438)
Appreciate your help.

AFAIK, there is no "decent" solution at this time.
Please change your Location setting to Device Only. It will stop the FCs for the time being.

No one knows why it happens or how to solve this? wierd.
How is this related to device location settings?
Out of nowhere I get "Google Play Services" has stopped working messages like every 20sek. Working with the phone is impossible and my Moto 360 doesn't work anymore either Using Stockrom CM12S with franco kernel, any ideas or solution?
Same problem here. This is so annoying!
Will try "device only" now. AFAIK this uses only GPS to get your current location - so this should dramaticly increase battery drain, right?
This trick didn't help
Same case. I am also getting these errors. there are solutions people have posted to disable GPS. But the phone is useless when it is without GPS.
Waiting for a fix ASAP.
For me it actually did! In another thread another solution came up: try enabling "keep awake", "wake up" and "autostart" in Privacy Guard for the Google Play Services. This also worked for me (although my Privacy Guard was not enabled for the Google Play Services the settings still did matter! So make sure to really enable them in the submenu!).
The random crashing seems to occur when:
location "high accuracy" PLUS Google Play Services are limited in Privacy Guard (keep awake, wake up, autostart)
Disabling one of the two should fix the problem.
BTW disabling GPS didn't solve the problem for me. "device only" means you only use GPS and not network location. The network location thing is what causes the crashing in combination with the Privacy Guard. So (at least for me) no need to disable GPS.
Looks good. Let me see if there is any issues now. I remember we all changed the "keep awake", "wake up" and "autostart" in Privacy Guard for the Google Play Services in an older version of Google Play Services.
Hope this is all fixed now and should not drain the battery (as it did in previous version).
How I solved the Play Services stopped FCs
Hardly this last version of Google Play Services will work properly, either clearing the data, blocking services on Privacy Guard, etc. Tested many things and the problem comes from the last update of Play Services, which includes in its changelog suspiciously some "Location Api improvements".
In my experience these last days the problem it seems to come when the services requests for location. If you use Apps asking frequently for locations you'll have the error very often, making usefulness your phone, as least mine. Using 3 Apps needing GPS location at same time is frustrating..
How I solved for now:
Go to Play Store, find Google Play Services in your Apps
Click on Uninstall (only will uninstall the last update of Google Play Services).
From that moment, some advice about certain Google Apps (Hangouts, Google Maps, etc.) may appear if you have these Apps installed. Ignore them, otherwise you'll need to update again if you want to use them, but...
But I can't find google play services in play store.

Same as TerrorApple. Disable Location services, but as this is needed often enable Location services only with GPS. This worked for my device
- coming rom the Xiaomi Mi 9 I could do WiFi tethering (as in, be connected to WiFi, activate hotspot and it'll share that connection and not my mobile data connection). Can that be achieved with the OnePlus 7 Pro?
- I have Swift black installed but there are times the navbar is still white, any way to keep it black most of the time?
- also to get Google pay working I needed to clear the data of Google play services etc but that then stopped the theme working for the play store. I've fully uninstalled substratum/the theme, reinstalled but themes just don't apply to the play store anymore.
Any help on the above would be appreciated!

To answer question 2, app named "Navbar Apps" is what you are looking for

I've had no problem using hotspot to share my mobile data with a laptop. Presumably it should be no problem sharing a WiFi connection through Bluetooth or usb. Speaking for the unlocked US version, TMobile version is likely dependent on your TMobile plan.

It was just today for the first time, I was in a coffee shop connected to its WiFi. I activated hotspot intending on sharing that connection but upon enabling hotspot, it disconnected from the WiFi and proceeded to share my mobile data connection.
Previously on my Mi 9, doing the above (quite literally, same coffee shop etc) would keep the WiFi connection active and share that via hotspot.
Hmmm not a big issue really, but it's handy feature I miss
[PRIVACY] When you force stop & disable Google Play Services, does that one action alone change your Android 12 Settings to remove Google spyware?
As part of the research in the thread on Google Maps no longer working only with GPS, and as a follow on to preventing Google from turning on Wi-Fi location scanning, I noticed something really INTERESTING when I forced stopped & disabled Google Play Services.
STEP 1
Google Play Services is running and Google Maps exists on Android 12 (but I'm never logged into anything because my phone is set up for privacy, which means there are no Google or Samsung accounts).
STEP 2
I force stop & disable Google Play Services.
STEP 3
That immediately causes Android 12 to complain about Google Maps not being able to work.
STEP 4
No big deal. So I force stop & disable Google Maps.
STEP 5
That not only stops Google Maps from complaining but that removes Google Maps from my homescreen.
STEP 6
Nice. But it also does two very interesting things (probably more I haven't noticed yet).
STEP 7
Notice that the Android 12 LOCATION SERVICES menu is now COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!
(I tested this twice by re-enabling Google Play Services so it's definitely repeatable.)
STEP 8
Interestingly, even the Organic Maps offline maps app had its settings COMPLETELY CHANGED!
(Again, I tested this twice and it's consistent that these things are directly related.)
In summary, by force stopping & disabling Google Play Services, two things immediately happened.
1. The Android Location Services "google alert crap" was all completely wiped out (yay!)
2. Any app that had a switch for "Google Play Services" location spyware was also wiped out (yay!)
I just did it a few minutes ago and everything else seems to be working just fine (I will report back tomorrow)......
Can someone who knows more than I do about this shed some light on what's going on?
