I tryed to boot CWM recovery for moto G (from this thread) but it didn't boot.
I have an european XT1032 (italian version), there are any fix for this device?
I tested the recovery with the following command:
For the 4.3 version
Code:
fastboot boot CWM43.img
For the 4.4 version
Code:
fastboot boot CWM44.img
but the device prompt the motorola screen and then reboot without boot the custom recovery.
1) is your bootloader unlocked?
2) are you on a stock JB or KK rom?
3) Do you have the same issue with TWRP?
Yes I unlocked the bootloader. I'm on Stock KitKat (4.4.2) and I have the same issue if I try to boot TWRP. I also tried to flash it on device but the issue remains.
Read the OP from the site where you downloaded CWM carefully again and compare it to that what you have quoted here.
With fastboot boot you are trying to flash cwm (recovery) as a kernel:crying:
And even then something is missing in your syntax (flash).
For flashing Kernel use:
fastboot flash boot filename.img

For flashing CWM use:
fastboot flash recovery filename.img

By the way, here is a good fastboot HowTo.
I already try to flash the recovery on device but it doesn't boot.
so i want to test it before flash on the phone

Sorry i don't understand you. You flashed the recovery already? But you want to test it before you flash? Now what?
What did you do exactly?
I think you messed up something while doing this thats why i am suggesting you to go back to Stock first.
Just flash it by typing "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" and then restart bootloader and press volume down, and then volume up. You should boot into recovery.

Before write this post i already tried flash and then boot the custom recovery, but it doesnt boot.
So i restored the stock recovery, and now i want to test recovery (on the fly) without flash it.
You have to flash it. You can not use it "on the fly" to test it.

I haven't tested fastboot but it should work. TWRP works 100%
Thank you very much, you are a life saver!!
I was stuck in a TWRP loop.
I tried flashing through TWRP but it didn't work but the fastboot method worked like a charm!
My phone is running again.
Thank you very much.
Is there any userdata.img available?

For some reason on my unlocked nokia 1 it started to ask password after flash and boot and gkeyboard always crashes on boot. So, I thought flashing fresh userdata might help.

I wrote in the instructions...
If you get a password just enter a random one, then it will ask you to wipe the device, click ok and it will reboot to recovery and then wipe userdata and boot fine.
just make sure you flash the recovery.bin and not twrp before you wipe

Same happened to me. I solved it by a hard reset via the stock recovery.
Make sure you flash the recovery.bin like Sooti said.
Wiping through twrp doesn't work.
Nice, working twrp for Nokia 1.
I buyed this phone today. Waiting for customs
A little warning.
It looks like the recovery.bin I took from another nokia 1 device doesn't match the checksum check which causes a failed during ota updates, please only flash this rom if you soft bricked your device.
If anyone can get me TA-1060 stock recovery image that should solve it. for now you can't update the phone until a fix is found
I have Nokia Ta 1066. Will this rom work on mine? Also I read somewhere Ta 1060 is single sim variant. What about the second sim?
Has anyone with TA 1066 tried it?
Thanks. Both methods work fine. Don't ask how I found out.....
Can you share how you managed to backup stock recovery file. Maybe after all the steps above we can flash our own device recovery to make ota work again...

got any custom roms?
Does Nokia 1 support DT2W?
Sir, is that possible to get a stock rom of TA 1056 ?
I have searched everywhere but whole thing available over net just left my phone bricked. All i need is a working rom source. Even if that’s a custom rom too to flash via sp flash tool. Thanks in advance
Can any please repost the firmware , the link isn't working
I am using op6 with oxygenos 5.1.11 (for unrelated reasons I cannot use android pie yet, so I had to downgrade to android 8.1 until a certain bug is fixed in 9).
I am trying to flash twrp, with no avail: when I use "fastboot flash recovery <twrp.img>", I get "FAILED (remote: '(recovery_a) No such partition')", and when I try using "fastboot boot <twrp.img>", the phone boots into an unresponsive state with a black screen and a white notification led.
what am I doing wrong? I've tried both twrp-3.2.3-x_blu_spark_v9.91_op6.img and the official twrp-3.2.3-1-enchilada.img in place of <twrp.img>, no difference.

of course it is!
First of all you can't flash recovery in fastboot on OP6. You need to boot the image and flash the recovery.zip after that you will have recovery permanently.
BTW why don't you search and have a look at the guide?
This time I do it for you. If you exactly follow these steps you will get recovery working.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/how-to/oneplus-6-unlock-bootloader-flash-twrp-t3792643
Follow this video. Remember to use the twrp-3.2.1-0-enchilada.img and twrp-installer-enchilada-3.2.1-0.zip, not the newer files.

Like the others said above, it sounds like you are trying to flash the version of TWRP for Pie onto an Oreo install, you need to get the last stable version of TWRP for Oreo, which I believe is 3.2.1. You'll need both the '.img' and '.zip' files. Good luck!

if you read my original post, I have tried to boot to recovery already, which didn't work. what I was not aware of is that the recovery image is android version-dependent. an old twrp-3.2.3-x_blu_spark_v8.83_op6.img did the job.

thanks! I was not aware that twrp images are android version-dependent and not backwards compatible. especially in the original enchilada twrp images one does not see it. an old twrp-3.2.3-x_blu_spark_v8.83_op6.img did the job.

Unlock bootloader using fastboot tools
Fastboot OEM unlock
Or
Fastboot flashing unlock
Falsh your device's empty Vbmeta.img
Fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
Reboot and install magisk latest version
Patch your device'S boot.img in magisk
Go-to bootloader and open fastboot mode, and flash patched magisk boot.img
Fastboot flash boot patched_magisk.img
Done, you rooted your device.

Hey if we flash the vbmeta.img will my phone boot
My Poco F2 pro has had its MIUI totally reset by flashing the stock global rom via MiFlash
[lmi_eea_global_images_V12.2.6.0.RJKEUXM_20210408.0000.00_11.0_eea_c1fbd3f567] as well as its bootloader unlocked.
Then from the guides installed a custom recovery; TWRP via the usual command "fastboot flash recovery" so I am able to install Magsik then.
On a reboot back into TWRP the first time it then fails to mount data as the stock rom has no passwords setup at all.
I have tried other custom recoveries to see if they worked but none have after the first flash.
TWRP (twrp-3.4.0-14-lmi-mauronofrio & twrp-3.4.2b-1206), OrangeFox R11.1_0 and LineageOS recovery.
Have also tested by setting up a passcode then pin code but on boot of any custom recovery, they never ask for the code.
Oddly if from fastboot with PIN enabled and I boot into recovery via the command "fastboot boot NAME.img" it actually asks for the pin code but via button press on boot it does not.
My old Poco F1 was so easy to do over this one, totally stumped.

TWRP are still in development and do not yet have all of their features.(device have 1 years).
The 3.4.2b-1206 works best.
Schema security works.
The rom you installed is an EEA RJKEUXM rom not a global RJKMIXM.
