This is how you update your phone. Are you able to get the phone into recovery mode or is it just stuck in that screen? Turn off your phone and back on and see if it's stuck at the screen.
If it is stuck I am sure you would be able to update the firmware on it or return to the Captivate stock ROM.
You can use Odin3 to flash a new firmware if need be.

You get the download mode by holding down the volume down button and then powering on the phone. To get to the recover mode you need to hold down the volume down button then the volume up button then the power button.
Glad your phone is working! Flash on!

Then you some how doing it wrong then because every person I said that too has said that it helped them get into the bootloader. As soon as it turns off let quickly let go off the power button but still keeping hold of Vol- and then press and hold the power button. And as added bonus flash TWRP recovery when you get into the bootloader then you wont have it booting into recovery like it's doing now.

All your way does as i stated on the other forum is it goes off a green line flashes across the screen, the charge light goes on and off a few times, green light flashes again and then it goes into clockwork recovery. even telling adb to reboot into bootloader does not work

Em not really most of it is copy and paste anyway but before doing that I think it be best you flash TWRP recovery so it should be easy to get into the bootloader again.

[Q] Screwed by EOS4 nighlies 205

Dear all,
If you haven't updated it, don't do it.
My situation now is:
1. It stucks at the red dual core logo; (I think it shouldn't be called a boot loop)
2. It can't be powered down; (even I press and hold the power button forever!)
3. If I reboot it, I can still press the -vol button to choose between modes, but there are one 3: NvFlash; RSD; and fastboot. No "android recovery" option.
As of now, I put it into Nvflash mode so that the screen will not keep shining with the red logo.
May anyone suggest how I could unbrick it, or the worst case, reinstall everthing to stock?
Thanks very much for your help!

If you lost recovery then you need to ADB into the unit to force it into recovery (if you don't know what I'm talking about get a friend who does).
In either case you will need to have the developer tools installed on a computer and connect via USB to be able to flash Stock Rom via fastboot.
Back to EOS4 203 build!
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Dear Guys,
Thanks you for your opinions.
1. I would like to flash back to 203. Would any one care to give me some step by step guides how to do that, given my situation, being stucked at the start up and couldn't go into recovery?
2. If I have a friend who is so technically superb, I wouldn't have to come up here to ask for help. As I always think here is where the genius gather.
Looking forward to a solution. Thanks again for all of you who cares.
re-install earlier ROM

Try the power + vol up +vol down reboot... this should get you to a bootloader screen, from there you can select recovery and that should allow you to re-install the 203 nightly. BTW... the problem was noted in the developer forum soon after the 204/205 file were posted.
ADVICE:: you might want to review any files in the forum before jumping on any upgrade.
if the above doesn't work then try -
Re-install your recovery - using the same steps that originally were used to root and install a recovery.
You may have to use ADB to push the files out to the device. (do a search for adb in this forum, or perhaps root kit)
With this it should be simple to recover.
I was fortunate that I was able to return to recovery and install 203 with no issues other than a anxious moments wondering what I did wrong
hope this helps

Maybe I supposed the Vol- vol+ button will be broken, but it seems good... For test, I can’t navigate in TWRP with vol- vol+ button but maybe is normal in 3.0.0 version, please can anyone test and say me is it same ?

No this toolkit does not run in fastboot mode what you need to do is power off the device and hold volume up and power and plug in your usb cable the screen should be black and then in device manager you should have a option called ports or if the driver for the qualccom port is not installed it should come up and right click the driver that is not installed and select find driver online once that is done click ms 9. Exe and run it as admin

[Solved] P20 Pro Bricked... Anyone can help me?

First, I was doing a full wipe in TWRP, But I realize I didn't back up my photos/Documents.
So I long pressed the power button to restart.
And now, i got a bricked phone...
Any one can help me?
I'd try this

But, I got stuck on the TWRP boot screen.
Also, I'm still available to use the fastboot mode.
Finally, I solve the problem by flashing the e recovery image, and then low level forma data.
Hope it helps for someone have the same issue like me.

Can you still have access to erecovery : volup at power with USB cable plugged. If yes you can try a recovery but you will loose all your data
Can you have access to fastboot : vol down at power up. If yes you can try to flash by adb by following instruction from discussions in the forums.
