[Q] Hard brick

I just had a bootloop changing dalvik to art. Then it shutdown suddenly and there is no way to turn it on, i can't access to recovery or download mode, and it isn't recognized by the computer. Sorry for my english... Any advice?
I had the Nexus g beta 4 rom, with a clean installation, and it works fine with dalvik
Sure that the Battery is not completely drained?
Try this:

According to Motorola Mobility, the solution to a fully discharged battery not restarting is to plug it in to charger and press & hold the power button for 18+ seconds, when the battery should resume charging.

I'll try when I get home and I'll post the results but I did the same several times, more than 10 seconds but no more than 18...

Did you do anythigh else than switching to ART? I am asking, because you cannot brick your phone with ART. When you turn the phone on, it first runs the bootloader, the bootloader loads the kernel and only after that is the ROM loaded, which is the step where ART can cause problems.
In short - there is no way ART could have done anything to the bootloader or the kernel and thus it couldn´t have bricked the phone.

Soft brick on stock ROM?

Hi guys,
Today my phone started acting weird. After I locked the screen or it locked after 15 seconds, it wouldnt turn back on. Only way would be resetting the phone. After a couple of resets the screen just shows like a old tv with no signal(TV noise?). If I let the phone sit for a while I could turn it back on and get to recovery but it wouldnt go into the OS. I tried doing a factory reset on the recovery and I just get stuck on the "formatting data" screen.
Any way to recover from this?
Phone is completely stock. No root, locked bootloader, etc.
Thanks.
For how much time are you using your phone? It's sounds to me as hardware failure.

Since late October I think. Yeah it sounds to me like hardware but the fact that the phone will work fine just until I locked the screen makes me think twice but well...

[HELP] Maybe a hardware defect. Phone keeps rebooting, evrything even fastboot

Hello,
I had latest PA, Uber kenel and Multirom installed. Suddenly my phone reboots and keeps to reboot. Only MultiRom is accessible for a greater amount of time. But reboots to, as well as fastboot and recovery does not even start.
Can someone please help me? :/ I would really appreciate an answer.
Return to stock. See if it still happens. First step in troubleshooting potential hardware issues

Try to get to bootloader from multirom which i believe is a modified twrp so tap reboot and then bootloader and tell us what it says or if its just a normal bootloader screen
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
May be the power button is stuck?? Try pressing it hard a few times and see if it loosens up??

I cant return to stock because it keeps rebooting, so bootloader did not work too.
But @vin4yak was right button was stuck! And everything is back to normal. But thank you all for your quick replies

Does the screen function in bootloader? If not like jd said its hardware. Most likely the flex ribbon connection.

yeah i have just finished fixing it an was about to tell you guys that my phone is working now

TWRP - freeze on wrong code

Hey guys,
I have tried this several times to make sure.
If you boot the latest official twrp with no security code, everything works like a charm.
If you boot with security code ON, you only have 1 try to decrypt it. If you fail the code, it reboots itself and freezes the phone. Touch stops working, you have to power off. Is this the normal behaviour? It doesn't even warns about wrong code, it just freezes the entire phone.
Can you guys replicate the issue?
I had that too but thought i did something wrong while flashing...

Yes it is an undesirable feature of twrp. I hope that they will fix it soon
Sent from my OnePlus6 using XDA Labs
I wouldn't call it a feature just more a problem lol
Yeah happens to me too, I just end up holding the power button and going into bootloader and back to recovery.
I guess we'll have to wait for a fix then. thanks guys
It's a little weird on the SD 845 twrp they all have the same problem lol
It's happened on the OP5, 5T and now the OP6. It also happens on my Nexus 9 - however in my case it just boots straight back into TWRP if the codes wrong
