If your can get into the bootloader I'd try flashing the factory image

Then I'm afraid it's a hardware problem.

Does the screen function in bootloader? If not like jd said its hardware. Most likely the flex ribbon connection.

HTC Sensation grey screen

Hello,
I've been using my HTC Sensation for more than a year, but since monday I can't get it to work.
When I turn it on, a grey screen appears instantly and I can't do anything on the phone (see picture)
I was using CM 10.1 rom for a long time without any problem
Is that a software issue or a hardware issue ? I'm scared my phone had died...
can you enter recovery? "hold down power plus volume down" at the same time
I've tried many times but no, I can't enter recovery...

Does it show the bootloader?
If not then probably it could be a hardware issue
Probably your digitizer is faulty

No bootloader... I absolutely have no screen and image
After I went to a repair store, they told me that the screen is broken.
They ask me 120€ (160$) to change it. Is it possible to buy a screen on internet and change it by myself ? (knowing that I never repaired a phone before and have absolutely no knowledge in doing it)
Can anybody answer me please ?...

ok thanks I know where that is, I used a paper clip to click the reset but nothing happened, I'm still stuck on the andriod screen, I briefly get a "Google TV" logo and then the screen just stays on the "android" sign. Very frustrating.
If you gave model and firmware that could help us help, like I had problem with mk808 and did that because ROM wasn't going well with the kernel.
PS not trying to be a jerk just telling you do have detail to help u

I actually fixed mine late last night. I held the reset button in while plugging in the power source (in my case the usb) this forced the device into recovery mode and from there I did a factory reset/data wipe and then rebooted the device. The device then went bacl to the "android" acreen but then went into the home screen for set up. Works great now.

I wouldnt think that. the one i got says G-Tronic VS -IP 139 .
hope that helps but where i live (tunisia) i dont think this will be a known brand.
but i would say it looks like the mk808
by putting the stick on USB/press rest, do you mean plug it in the pc or in the Tv? because when i do that nothing happen on the TV and my pc doesn't even blink like i didnt plug anything

[Q] Random rebooting does not stop

Hi
This is a well known issue with the nexus 5. My device permanently starts rebooting. The google Logo occurs and then it rebotos again. There is no start animation. If I press the power and volume down bottom I just see the bootloader screen and after half a second it reboots. I can't do anything.
My phone is rooted (no custom ROM) and before I go back to the shop I want to unroot it. However, with this behaviour I'm not able to do it, or is there any chance? Does someone know at least, how I can boot normaly to unroot it.
thanks for your help

Hello, take a look at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513701
Is this really a well known issue? What were you doing directly beforehand? What have you tried to do to fix it? Have you tried using fastboot commands to reload factory images? Are you a toolkit only user? Have you tried a factory image through that?

Well IMHO it is a well known issue (see for example the wikipedia page or just have a look in tech forums). Directly before, I was writing an SMS and put it in my pocket (everything seems fine at that moment). 10 minutes later I just want to check my SMS and then it was already rebooting all the time. This was not the first time, I had this issue 2 todays before, but after approximatley 20 reboots it started correctly.
So far I was not able to use fastboot commands, since I can't enter fastboot. I didn't use a toolkit.

Use this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513701
Or you can use this toolkit (some people are not fans of these but I am):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2525026
I have never heard of the issue where it was only rooted and it just randomly decides to reboot and keeps doing it for no reason at all without the user flashing something that it did not like. So are you saying that you cannot even turn the phone off it just keeps going into a bootloop and trying to enter fastboot does nothing?
I don't think this is a really well known issue.. Have not seen to many support threads about this.

If the wall charger is plugged into the phone, the nexus just starts rebooting. I see the white Google logo and after one or two seconds it reboots. Sometimes you see the boot animation (4 circles) but after a short time it restarts the phone not able get to the point where you unlock the SIM. Trying to get into fastboot mode is also not possible. The fastboot mode appears but after half a second the phone reboots again. If the nexus is not connected to a charger it repeats rebooting for about four times after that just a black screen appears. If I'm not able to get into fastboot mode I can't unroot the phone, right? So the links you shared are not useful in my case
I have the nexus now over a week and the phone worked perfectly fine the first week.
I have uploaded two films of the problem to youtube, see this link. One film is with the nexus plugged into the chrager and one where it isn't.
That is very strange.
I would definitely use Madpiercing's post and link to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2521691&page=3 to try and fix it.

The very strange thing is, that it worked well over a week. the random rebooting starts two days ago, first time it starts again correctly after 5 min. Now it seems to hang in a loop.

After a while I was able to get into the fastboot mode: I plugged my nexus into the wall charger for about 1 hour. Then it booted correctly. I had plugged my nexus into the charger before (over night) without leading to the same result. It seems that it just starts working correctly as random as it crashes
Do you think it is a bug in the bootloader or that something happened while to rooting the phone?

It's most likely a hardware issue, bad cache memory on the cpu. I'd rma it.

Google Nexus 5 stuck on boot screen

Hey guys,
my brother owns a Nexus 5 (duh, otherwise why would i be here )
but anyways, his phone is just stuck at the boot screen. As in as soon as you try powering it on, it shows the Google sign but then it just continually restarts after that. I've tried entering the bootloader but as soon as I access it, it just forcibly reboots without me pressing anything. I'm kind of stuck here as I can't really do anything.
Does anyone have any clue what to do?
Edit: forgot to say he's full stock as in no root, no unlocked bootloader, no recovery etc.
Hi,
Keep the turned off for a bit and then try accessing the bootloader.. From there, go to the recovery and perform a factory reset.
If you can't access the bootloader or it keeps restarting again and again in bootloader, it might be a eMMC failure..

Could the power button be stuck?

I have also considered this as well. Is there anyway to get around this? Or perhaps fix this even?
Perhaps its also worth to note that it will only do this when its connected to a charger but when disconnected, it wont even turn on (as in no google sign or bootloader)

Yes. Motherboard needs to be replaced in the case of a dead eMMC.

Phones are not meant to be kept in the bag.. May be the bag hit somewhere and the phone took a brunt of it? Who knows??
Or it could also be a random failure..
Can you access the recovery? If so, try a factory reset from there and see whether it boots up?

My lg g3 is dead, please help :'(

The problem is:
No download mode
No recovery
no fastboot mode
When connecting to the current does not turn on the screen and sometimes it turns on but the load does not rise from 0% and the red LED blinks after a moment stops blinking and no longer turns on the screen, when connecting it to the pc it is detected but with battery it does not light the screen, when removed the battery lights up with a non-battery alert and up comes out fastboot mode started. I have tried with other batteries and still nothing happens.

Sounds like it's dead/hardware failure since youve tried different batteries.
Did you do anything to it like root , rom, etc before this happened? Or was it all stock?

There may be an unbrick guide in the general section to do a Pinout which will still require taking apart the phone and it would bring back download mode.

There is another possibility. Try another cord. The original cords after a while can be very finicky. Mine was. Make sure the next cord you try is definitely a fast charging data sync cable. Your best best is another of v10 cord. If that doesn't work, then you do indeed have a catastrophic hardware failure. And there is currently no fix 100% fix. There are the methods that the other posters mentioned but if those dont work, then your board is shot. Also, after trying the new cord. Reinstall the lg drivers on your pc.
