Has anyone managed to get RCS chat features to work on the OnePlus 6 running 10.0.1 with AT&T? I have AT&T prepaid and I have ran every combination I have come across on the internet and still cannot get it to work.
Yes, it's working just fine for me though I'm on a regular plan not prepaid.
Doesn't work for me either.
Before android message beta and activity launcher update.
Rcs work on my op6 a10
after update rcs not work.
Mine started working without doing anything or updating anything last night.

I tried activity launcher, but it didn't work. Turning on airplane mode, then clearing storage of carrier services and messages, then turning airplane mode off and opening messages also can make it work. That's the only method that I tried that worked at all.
Still nothing after spending hours trying again with every combination possible.

Are you sure prepaid includes access to RCS? AT&T can be weird about this stuff.

Unfortunately AT&T has linked me to an article that says you HAVE to be on a postpaid plan for RCS features to work. It also says you MUST have HD voice also but that's the sort of bs Google was trying to work around... ?*

Im using a Samsung Focus bought from Rogers but using with Fido. It's NOT unlocked however, but works though.
I heard that MMS wont work if I use Rogers phone on Fido, and that's true, it doesnt.
But I have 2 other problems, and Im not sure if they are my Samsung Focus' problem or a Window Phone problem.
1) I tried the group chat feature for the first time a few weeks ago and turns out it doesnt work! When I try it out, it tells me there has been an error or something.
2) I noticed that when I go to the original Marketplace app, it doesn't show the updates for my apps. I remember it did before and it updated all my apps, but last month I found out some of the apps I had have been updated but yet the Marketplace doesnt tell me that and I have no idea how to update them. I have a lot of apps and I don't want to go through each one of them to see if they have updates and then reinstall; that would be terribly tedious.
So does anyone else have one of these 2 problems and does anyone know how I could fix them?
Thank you!
ETA: also just for your information, my Focus has the latest update I believe. the 7740 version
MMS works on ATT if you run att connection setup. Does samsung have something similar for rodgers?
updates should work... what if you use wifi?
Maybe something has them hung up along the way. hard reset to fix it?

I dont mind not having MMS. I dont use data, I only use wifi. Yea, so far, it seems like the only way to fix the app update problem is by resetting the phone. But i still dont know whats causing the group chat to not work; and yes, I did turn group chat on in the settings.
thanks for the reply
Hey all, is anyone else having any issues with Google voice not properly working on their Nexus 5 with android 4.4? I have it setup like normal, but the app is not showing missed called or voicemails.

Do you happen to be using two factor account authentication?
Tried clearing the app, reloading it, deactivating and re activating the phone\account via google voices web settings.
I am using two factor authentication as per a month ago. but if i recall correctly my google voice was still working with that enabled on my moto x before i got the nexus 5. I could be mistaken though. Anyone?
Mine originally was acting kind of funny upon first install - I uninstalled and re-installed it was fine.

If you're using a prepaid plan, I wonder if this is what you're running into:
http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/voice/bPJ0u3fJiFo
Look about half-way down the page, it seems that some have needed to have T-Mobile disable their own voicemail in order to get GVoice to work. Maybe this is the answer, maybe not, but I saw it and thought it might help. If you got your Nexus through T-Mobile/postpaid, may not be the answer.
I seem to of found the problem. I was testing calls from my work phone, and they were all getting directed into the Spam folder. You cannot view the spam folder on the android app, however once i moved the calls\voicemails from the spam folder via the web interface, they all came flooding into my phone.

Actually yes, you can view the spam folder on the android app.

I was noticed odd issues with Google Voice also. When I make a test call to my phone from my wife's phone and it actually calls me twice. Maybe someone else can help me confirm.. Call your phone from another phone and just let it keep ringing. See if it calls twice. Almost seems like its calling both primary and Google Voice #'s

Last few weeks, textra has stopped receiving MMS along with any other 3rd party SMS apps. I have everything up to date with no mods or romsom the phone. I use get MMS just fine by activating a new SIM on a vzw phone. I tried this method again to no avail. Any help. And yes I did search the forums and google. Is this an isolated incident? Thanks in advance

Curious if anyone has found a fix.
I had an issue the other day where SMS's wouldn't send, with the error 'No sim selected for SMS' or something like that. A reboot sorted it, though. (This is on a DUGL model)
Bump
Anyone... I mean anyone have a solution?
I'm thinking of doing the RUU as another member suggested however I'm kinda nervous about it. Both htc and Verizon keep blaming each other. Honestly it's really frustrating. I woild love to the the u12 but I just got the u11 and it works great... Outside of this issue.
Anyone have any roms that work maybe? Maybe I need to root the device?

Check your APN settings just to make sure everything is straight. The incorrect APN can screw things up. If you have another Verizon phone, compare the APN setup.

I can't change my apn... I've tried but it looks good
You have to be rooted to change the APN because you have to add 2 lines to the build.prop to allow an app like APN Settings to add a new APN. I have the same problem. My APN was slightly different from my wife's. And still you can't change an existing APN only add a new one and delete the old one. I've tried it all. I'll save you the trouble and tell you that didn't fix the problem. I have talked to Verizon and it shows on their end that I'm receiving the MMS message but it never shows in Android Messages just says it expired. If I push and hold on the it has expired message it shows received info. Did find a forum where people with the first Pixel phone were having the same troubles. Google released an OTA for that phone to fix the bug in Oreo but only in that phone. I can only think that this phone has the exact same bug, just my problem only presented itself a month after upgrading to Oreo. I have noticed if I open Android Messages and leave it running in the background and then use Verizon Messages+ to send myself a picture message (never had a problem with mMS on Messages+) and go to the recently opened apps list and select Android Messages the picture shows up no problem. But as soon as I make Android Messages the default messaging app I no longer get MMS messages.

March is exactly when my MMS stopped working. I went to a Verizon store where I know a guy that works there. I asked him if he could make sure my advanced calling features were activated on there end. He did something and said you're all set and gave me a new SIM. I activated it in my wife's old phone that had working advanced calling and mms messages. It didn't fix my problem, but there is a guy on here that swears by that fixng the problem. I have also seen where people have called Verizon and had them turn off their CDMA provisioning and that helped. I haven't tried that yet. I've basically have said F it, and I downloaded the top 10 messaging apps for 2018. I found one that works that I like called QKSMS. not real flashy but it's a newer app and he is still adding features as he can.

I will definitely try to keep this thread updated. I have spent hours as well to get things working and countless factory resets. I did notice that my apn settings don't have a MMSC which is suppose to be http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms as well as a mms port 80...so maybe the new Sim will correct that cause I can't
But as a recap so far I RUU back from 2.42.617.6 to 2.42.617.1, my next stop is new SIM with all goodies activated and ensure CDMA provision is off

What really blows my mind is why some apps work and some don't. I was digging around the database for message storage. I noticed when the message went through I would get one field that said something like vdn.wap.mms. if the message was never received it would show like http://random IP address/ servlets/MMS and at the very end would be msg_id=? It would also show in the pending field of the database.
Just wanted to post that if you lost RCS today try disabling dsds mode and rebooting.
I lost the RCS hack today around 1600 PST yesterday, I was able to reenable it by going into the dialer and entering the debug menu(*#*#4636#*#*) and disabling dsds mode, rebooting then reapplying the hack.
what is the dsds??

I realize this is personal preference, but I'm not sure why people would start changing options like that in an effort to keep RCS. The RCS "hack" is so limited to begin with that it seems silly to try to chase after it. Don't get me wrong, I did the RCS hack on my family's phones (and it's still working just fine as of the time of this post), but I'm not going to start changing other settings in an effort to keep it. If it works, great. If not, oh well. Easy come and easy go.

Google has since fixed the dsds bug with RCS so it's working again in dsds mode. I prefer to use RCS over sms for many reasons, the biggest one being the fact that I can send higher quality photos and videos of my daughter to my fiance and family as well as knowing that my fiance has seen any messages I sent her.
It's not really limited, you get full RCS services doing the hack(which isn't even really a hack anymore as Google made it available to people with the latest messages beta), I also used the time that it was disabled to move from the sandbox url to the official Verizon url(I'm on Verizon) but my mom and fiance are still using the sandbox url without issue.

I meant limited because it primarily only works with other people that have enabled this "hack" (at least in the USA). Obviously the RCS capabilities are full featured, but simply not available unless both phones/sides of the text stream are RCS capable.
I just got the NA version of the ROG Phone 5 and sadly I cannot get VoWiFi working on TMobile. Sadly I'm in an area where I don't get the best signal and it's extremely important for this feature to work. Especially considering I spent 1k+ for this phone... Any help/guidance would be appreciated.
Have you enabled it in settings and then tried a reboot?
I've also noticed that it may not work until the SIM is installed BEFORE initial setup (or before a factory reset)
I confirmed with other people too. US version doesnt have Tmobile wifi. If it would, I would have bought one

You should be able to copy and paste if that doesn't work try pasting but delete the last * and add it manually. If that still doesn't work just manually type it in. Wi-fi calling was a deciding factor for me lol was about to return it until I found out I could get it to work properly.

I'd like to add that after running the dialing code you have to enable wifi calling in the settings app.
Aswell as that, at least for me, I need to disable and re-enable it within settings after re-running the dial after reboot, for it to actually reconnect
Just to avoid any confusion.
This does work tho! Kva is right!

I agree, but idk if they need some authorization from T-Mobile to enable it by default and we're just the end user working around that.
Otherwise, I'm not really sure at all why the functionality is developed but not enabled by default.

Yeah it's stupid I ended up talking to advanced tech support and the guy has never heard of ROG phone 5 and said I should return it cuz it seems like it's a hardware issue.... I'm like dude it's your system not giving me proper access's and authorizing my phone... He's like I guess you know more about phones than I do... At least have basic IT understanding....
They're not in IT. They're customer service reps. They read from a script.

Well, when I'm talking to the advanced Technical team I am not talking to customer service reps... I talked to a customer service rep and they forwarded me to the IT team. Considering they are called advanced technical teams I would assume they are in IT. whereas the initial person I talked to was and clearly stated she was a customer service rep.
The only difference between the two people you spoke with is that one had access and authorization to suggest more "advanced" solutions. I'm not saying they shouldn't have better training, but legitimate IT professionals rarely work the call center as more than a summer job.
Anyway, the point was that they're a waste of time unless the issue is the SIM card or your plan. It's unfortunate.
Dial codes typically trigger an intent. If you can track down the intent, you can have it launch automatically on boot. Once that's taken care of, it shouldn't be too hard to automatically enable the setting. That is assuming you called because setting the prop didn't work.
Another alternative if you do have a property and can't write to system is setting it with a magisk module, since the system is read only on a firmware level.

How would I set that up using magisk module? One Issue I have noticed is the wifi calling turns itself off after a while. sometimes it works for several hours other times maybe a day but then turns off and I have to restart the phone and run the command again.
