Puerto Rico Sprint User's Be Aware

Well after a night and a day here's the answer to my problems with my TP. It seems there's a programming issue with both diamond and touch pro in the Puerto Rico Sprint Network. This causes these issues: Even when it says EVDO our phones are not connected to the network fully, so you can't surf and even phone calls don't come thru the majority of the times. Since the phone internally keeps trying to connect to the network it causes the battery to drain at a rapid pace and therefore making it very hot. They are working on this issue and was told a patch should be comming out a.s.a.p. I was offered a full refund but I decided to keep my TP and just swap esn's and keep using my mogul 6800 until this is resolved. If you are in the PR Sprint Network be advised your Diamonds and Touch Pro's will not funcion correctly unless your in a 1X all the time or in roaming.. Hope this gets fixed sooon I really want to use my new phone.

[URGENT] Note 2 not connecting inside.( Telus - International )

Hello,
Recently I purchased a brand new note 2 from Best Buy Mobile who sells on behalf of Koodo Mobile. It was working just fine until I went on vacation where it's giving me a huge headache. Considering it was locked I contacted a good friend who unlocks phones, he rooted my phone ( Was extremely angry ... ) and told me he unlocked it, because of the friendship I couldn't say much, anyways, after rooting the phone stopped working inside the house. I purchased the phone in Calgary where it worked just fine and I am currently in Karachi ( Pakistan ), When I try to call someone it goes to dialing and just stays at dialing without any further updates, the phone never connects but the wierd thing is that it is getting 5 / 5 singles I am using the Mobilink carrier in PK, I've also tried Zong, Telenor, Ufone, Warid etc. and none of them work, BUT as soon as I step outside the call takes 2 seconds to connect, now I understand you may think it's a signal issue but first it's getting full signals and it tells me I am on the Mobilink service, secondly I have uncles from Saudia, America all who brought their phones and they work just fine. We have iPhone's, Blackberry's, Samsungs & Nokias inside the house all that are working just fine INSIDE & OUTSIDE.
iPhones - iPhone 5s
Blackberrys - Blackberry Torch 9800
Samsungs - Note 2, Note 3, S3, S4.
Nokia's - Nokia 225 etc.
ALL phones expect the note 2 work fine inside and outside, I've tried changing the connection method to GSM only, WCDMA only etc. The only difference I noticed was that GSM connected much faster once I stepped outside than LTE & WCDMA. I am extremely annoyed as this phone is less than a month old and was kept in storage 75% of the time, so it's basically new. I don't want to throw this phone away. My friend tells me the phone needs a hardware booster but I don't want to let him open up my phone after what he did to the software. Any suggestions on fixing this? I'm very worried as this cost me 300 dollars and I haven't even used it for a month. ANY help would be appreciated and I would not mind compensating the user who helps me fix this. Thank you very much!

I Am very frustrated with this phone....

I bought this phone off Ebay about 3 weeks ago. It was labeled as a d820 The listing said for parts does not read sim card but everything else worked. Being Semi decent in the tinkering world I thought I would spend the 40 $ on the phone to see if I could make it work. When I got the phone it was on the setup screen because it was just factory reset. When I put my sim in (T-mobile) it showed that it had a signal. As soon as finished setup it lost the signal and could not connect again. So obviously it is some kind of software issue. So the first thing I did was try to update it from lollipop to marshmallow. Once again it showed it was connected to my network until completing setup. This time when I was in the bootloader I noticed that it said it was a d821. I figured well I paid 40 dollars I was probably going to get ripped off somewhere. So then I started reading about how to use the d821 in America thinnking that was the issue. I tried the qpst thing where you add the additional bands- nothing. Then I messed around a bunch in the cdma tool after reading a thread about adding cdma to the device. I also tried flashing various modems and roms with no luck. Last night I thought maybe theres something I missed hardware wise in the phone so I opened it up. I checked all of the connections and everything was fine. I started reading the numbers and got really confused. On the back of the phone it says d821 under the lg logo. but on the inside of the back cover and the plastic shroud on the motherboard it says d820. This might be irrelevant but it would be super great if someone had an idea of how I can get this to work on T-mobile in the USA because with a decent rom this phone is wayyy smoother and faster than my 5.5" alcatel idol 3 network unlocked from cricket (So lte sucks). All i want is a phone that has a stable lte connection XD
ANY ideas how to fix my D821?
The model # in the bootloader is the correct model #. Is it possible the imei has been blacklisted?
On the motherboard, near battery connector there is info about 32/16gb and d820/d821.

Frustrating S9 Plus

Maybe someone has an idea.
I recently purchased a S9 Plus from Walmart. Brand new. Its and American model SM-G965U.
Build: PPR1.180610.011.G965USQU6CSI2
Snapdragon Processor: (wish I had known earlier what a pain to root)
Android Patch Sept 1 2019.
Hardware Rev1.1
Kernel Ver: 4.9.112-16732439
#2 Fri Sep 6 13:23 KST 2019
Now here's the issue
I lose signal when I KNOW that it should not happen.
Example. Live north of Toronto, big major city, lots of cell towers but my phone shows only 1 sometimes 2 bars. GF has an apple same carrier it shows 4 bars. Switch SIMS with her and I still only get 2 bars.
Take my SIM and put it into an old S7 and BAM. 4 Bars.
My little S7 would have a strong signal that even at the cottage I could stream music. The S9 says no way.
Got a new SIM card thought maybe it's damaged. Nope No Change.
Switched carriers, installed another new SIM, still the same.
Have wiped and re-installed countless times all to the same effect no change.
Signal strength readings are always low generally between -103 - -117 32 asu
Not sure if it matters Network Connections are 2g/3g/LTE however at the top right of the home screen it shows signal strength and it switches to 4G . Do I need a 4 G phone plan???
I think its a hardware issue which brings me full circle. Is it possible to do a firmware upgrade? Or do i throw this thing in the garbage?
Appreciate everyone's help.
Peace out
M
Sometimes a firmware upgrade can help, have you tried it yet? Firmware updates also include security patches and they are important to have.
But, it could also be a loose connection with the antenna. If it is a hardware issue it is hard to do anything about it without replacing device. Can you try with another one?
Hey
Thanks for the reply. I took my old S7 threw the SIM card and its smoking.
In hindsight I think You are correct. Loose antenna would be exactly what I am experiencing. (kinda silly I didn't think of that)
I'm going to return the device and ask the reseller for a replacement .
Its just as well , I have way to may other projects on the go...like building an offset reverse flow smoker..bbq season will soon be here.
Lets close this thread and say good bye
Thanks again

Need help regarding network connectivity

Hi, so I made a Reddit post about this with a screen recording of the issue I am having. So basically, I've had this AT&T (refurbished) LG V60 (android 10) for about 42 days now and today it started to act up and kept disconnecting from the carrier network. It would constantly cycle from identifying the carrier network, getting cellular signal then dropping it after a second. I'm at my wits end about this and would appreciate any help fixing this issue / pointing me to a guide with information about it. I've not had any issues with connectivity the past weeks aside from my apartment already having poor reception anyway (but today I went to areas with proper 4G/5G service, i am aware that 5G bands might not be supported but 2G,3G,4G should work as they did before).
Hey bro I'm having the same exact problem I'm on metro PCs. Phone worked fine forever now suddenly absolutely will not connect to 5g I have tried everything and talked to customer support 20 times I've gotten a new SIM card done network refreshes this **** is ****in irritating have you found any solutions?
