Received the notification for Pie update yesterday morning for Sprint HTC U11. Thus far, it seems to run smoothly. However, I can't find it anywhere in the setting to turn on the mobile hotspot. Anyone is experiencing the same issue?

Thanks for the reply. With Pie, it's no longer under more in wireless and network section (at least on my phone). Weird.

Thanks for the screenshot. For some reasons, hotspot and tethering is missing on mine phone. This is so weird. I hope I don't have to do it factory reset for that to reappear.
I am experiencing the same thing. Data usage and then NFC. No Hotspot option. Sprint also.

can you access it from the pull down hot spot should be in there.
Pull down hotspot quick setting tile has disappeared too.
I downloaded the OTA, but if I'm running Bad Boyz 8.0 rom, do I have to flash a RUU first or can I install this over Bad Boyz? Its systemless root using Magisk.

if you have root and twrp installed you can't, flash the oreo ruu(which will wipe you phone)and return you to stock then you;ll recieve the ota and go from there.
best way i know, if anyone else can do better then just chime in here.

Problem solved. Please follow the instructions below:
Dial ##72786#. Note: If the dialer does not appear, tap the Dialer icon. Tap YES. The device will restart and initiate Hands Free Activation. After the device restarts it will automatically perform Hands Free Activation. Once the activation is complete, tap OK. The device will then update the PRL. Once the update is complete, tap OK. Tap OK. The device will restart.
After restarting, hotspot and tethering setting selection reappeared.

It has been said many times in the main thread, but here are only a few (I sold it because HTC is not going to fix anything):
Cannot disable the led into do not disturb mode
Digital wellbeing is not into settings menu (you have to use the search)
Adaptative battery is not into settings menu (you have to use the search)
Battery problems (I lost 1,5h SOT)
HTC sense companion is not counting steps (I think there was a new version of the app THREE months later to fix it)
Those are which I can remember and were persistent after factory reset and even after re-flash the RUU.
As I said, I sold it two months ago and I never will buy another device from this manufacturer.
I have a sprint model that i unlocked, since the update i can't use hotspot, i tried ##72786# it just gives me a menu with 4 options that i can't change.
Is there a way for me to get hotspot back?

Yesterday I updated my Honor 8 via the Systemupdate Menu. Since the Update I am struggling with WLAN Problems.
I never disconnect from the network but every minute or so the connection gets super slow. Like 100Bits/Second slow.
This does not only happen at my home network but also at work. I tried resetting the network settings but nothing changed... I am clueless at this point on what to do.
Any help is appreciated a lot!
Thanks, Jonny
Other devices work fine. Gonna do a factory reset now.
The factory reset might have fixed it. Works fine at the moment Thanks
Nevermind the probem is still there. I reinstalled my apps and now have the same problem. Also i noticed that the Wlan Symbol goes from full connectivity to 0 and vice versa all the time..
How can I check which App causes the problem? When i reboot in save mode I can't find a way to test the connection. Could switching the main storage path to a SD be the cause in any way?
Because this time the problem started occuring again once I rebooted after switching this setting.
I resetted the phone and just installed Twitch to have a constant live stream running to be able to see when the problem occurs. The problem still happens every few minutes.
I now deinstalled Twitch and installed the Ookla Speedtest and the problem comes up from time to time again. I also deinstalled every preinstalled app after the reset. So i am pretty sure that apps are not the problem..

To be honest I did not check :/ I instantly upgraded to B380 which worked fine before the update.
As was shown here: https://www.xda-developers.com/enable-preferred-wifi-calling-option-verizon-pixel-pixel-xl/ you could enable WiFi calling as your preferred calling method with this nice little ADB command. I can confirm with Oreo it worked, and stuck through reboots and all. I have however now sideloaded my Verizon Pixel with the Developer Preview of Android P. It was a smooth upgrade, however I can no longer get WiFi calling to be preferred with the ADB command. It was originally still listed there, and was still containing the "2" value, but the setting no longer worked. I did a factory reset to start fresh, and I notice that the setting is no longer present when doing the “settings list global” command. I tried adding the line and it still does not work. Anyone have a workaround or any ideas on what I can try to get the WiFi calling to be preferred again? I really rely upon it at work, as we have almost no cell signal, and I have come to love the previous ability I had to have it be the Preferred method for all my calls. Since I have one of the jacked Verizon Pixels, I was never able to unlock the Bootloader, so there is no going back for me! I do also want to say on that note though, for the last week, since I did the factory reset and re-did everything, my phone has been rock solid on the "P" Developer Preview!

I know there was a flashable magisk module that enabled the options, but it doesn't help with the actual ims status(*#*#4636#*#*, phone settings, ims status). It might be that you need the official Verizon rom that includes the necessary lib files, or that the dev preview doesn't include those and therefore you can't yet enable it?

I though about the Verizon thing as well, but I also used the Developer Preview for Oreo, and it worked with it just fine, so I am thinkning they have just moved it somewhere else in the "P", or something of that nature, but I am hoping that someone here can possibly figure it out!

I'm having the same problem after a recent update. WiFi calling no longer works, and the option has disappeared from settings.
Dialing *#*#4636#*#* no longer brings up the menu, either.
I tried via adb shell to set wfc_ims_mode=2, but that doesn't work. `settings list global` shows that it is set to 2, but even after reboot wifi calling still doesn't work.

Probably just something that handy yet been implemented, being it is a Dev preview . Same thing with the lockscreen shortcut icons for camera and phone.
Just an update. I stuck a T-Mobile SIM card in my phone and after using the magisk module I mentioned, the options appeared for the advanced and wifi calling. I'll do it again tomorrow and pay a screen . It's almost midnight here so gonna crash
I'm running stock p on verizon. Hoping someone comes up with a solution.

Experiencing this issue after upgrading my Pixel XL and my wife's Pixel 2 to the Verizon Pie.
Details for my Pixel XL:
Android Version 9
Android Security Patch Level: August 5th, 2018
Kernel Version: 3.18.10-ga765425
Build Number: PPR1.180610.009
I used to use the ADB hack flawlessly, now I can't seem to make WiFi Calling Preferred over mobile network. So even though I have one bar that goes in and out, it uses the network then drops.

I haven't even updated to P yet and mine stopped working on the last security patch. I can set it back using adb. Reboot and wifi calling comes on. The first phone call works for about 5 minutes, then drops. The settings database values go back to default. The only way to get it to work again is to go through the whole process again.
Too much trouble. Sure would be nice to just turn it on and have it work.

Dear all,
I own a OP6 always updated through OTA. But I have a big problem: often, and without noticing it, the data connection is interrupted and the only way to reactivate it is turn off the connection from the menu, wait a minute, and reactivate the connection. It happens several times a day.
As you can imagine, it is a big problem because someone sends me emails or messages that I do not receive until I do the steps above. And I don't know when I'm connected and when I am not because everything seems okay.
Can you help me?
Thanks in advance.

Just out of curiosity, did you try downloading the latest full rom and flashing it? I was always having issues with severe battery drain if I updated by OTA. Downloading the rom from OP website and flashing fixed the issue. Could be something similar for you.
Be sure to do a backup first incase of any problems.

Not similar but this the only case. I learned it through 4 devices OTA updates always mess up something. Always do full clean install, i know it sucks to settup the phone again install backups.. etc.. but it gor good
I think i have the same problem but after every reboot. I get 4G icon, but there is no connectivity on chrome and other apps (although Spotify seems to work). Only after switching to 3G and back to 4G the data works...
I had the same problem on my OP3 in OOS, but not in Resurrection Remix... really weird. I may try Havoc OS to see.
No problems with mobile data here, but dame issues when on wifi. I did a factory reset yesterday and clean install, but sadly that didn't help.
I've just updated to OxygenOS 5.1.11 and the issue is still with me. How is it possible? It's a really annoying bug. Developers, where are you when we need you most?

Where is adaptive battery hidden? Only place that I could even remotely find it is in developer options and even then it is just the bucket options for the apps.

Anyone who wants to see "Adaptive Battery" in your Battery settings install:
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/device-health-services/
That APK. Then go back into your battery settings and you should now see Adaptive Battery. So it does exist but highly possible HTC "forgot" the APK to "enable" it since this update does look to be a bit "rushed".

What you say that shows under developer options is the state of the apps that the system manage.

In English "Battery Manager" . So now there are two odd ways to get this adaptive battery, fyi installing the APK also gets access to adaptive brightness. It changes auto brightness to adaptive brightness.

Hi,
Just got it
Only 7MB... I don't think it will fix performance errors after several days
By now I highly doubt these updates have ever fixed anything
I'll probably still have to restart my phone every day to keep it snappy.
Yes, at least for me bugs are still here. Made a clean install
Our device is officially abandoned by Xiaomi even though there's still 8 months of security patches for it. They just refuse to fix anything since they updated to Android 10. I had a slight hope but not anymore.
Funny thing, if you use the navigation gesture the icon text is bigger lol
For exemple, in the app drawer it will display "Chro" instead of "Chrome".
If you go back to 2 buttons navigation the display is correct.
Dont know how to fix that without tweaking dpi in dev option...
Wanted to test again the stock version but it's not very good... lol
Could you report if it has been any improvement?
I'm using it second day and RAM management is much better, phone feel more snappy then v11.0.10.0.
Problems with "customize your pixel" and "add another email account" are still present.

I can confirm that, I can see an improvement too. The fingerprint reader also works better.
Unfortunately, the transfer of USB files to the memory card is completely unstable. Sometimes I have to reset my phone to see the changes.
For me, these are the first changes since updating to Android 10. Unfortunately, many things still don't work, for example Volte.

Yes. Don't expect a fix any time soon. We're only getting security fixes and that's not a security issue
Battery is draining faster since the update.
Battery seems ok to me. At least the same as before when i was using custom rom.
But i am pretty sure that my battery is dying as i cant get more than 6h of screen on time now, no matter what rom/kernel i use lol
I'm not getting any update. May it be because of unlocked bootloader? I'm still at May security update for now.
