hello friends, I'm looking for a way to install a custom unlock/lock sound under OOS 10.0.2. Up to version 10.0.1 this was available under system/media/audio/ui. Starting with version 10.0.2, it is located in /product/media/audio, which cannot be changed despite root.
Can someone help me solve this problem, thank you
I succeeded at changing it on 10.0.2
like you normally do with a root explorer

do you created a folder system/media/audio/ui or but it in product/media/audio/ui, because this folder is set to r/w, but not writable.

use file explorer
Just replace the file com.sec.android.app.launcher.prefs.xml in /data/data/com.sec.android.app.launcher/shared_prefs/ with this attach file. unzip first.
fix permission to rw-rw----
then reboot.
the setting is now built into homescreen.
hope it works for you
thanks

Go to root explorer search for the file and see if the permission is correct, if not just change it in root explorer too and restart.
Try to replace it in root explorer. No need to do in twrp. Sometime it doesn't change if change it in twrp.

Hey guys.
I wanna ask you, if someone can provide me the stock Honor 8 sounds (including alarm, notification and ringtones)
I ask, because without root we can't get access to the internal SD card.
I tried also to extract the tones and sounds from a FW Update which was provide in one of the other threads. But I can't open the Update.APP file with 7zip or any other tool on my PC.
So, if anybody of you has root and can copy the stock sounds + provide me, that will be great.
Big thanks in advance and with regards
Install root explorer, then go to system folder.
I don't remember the exact folder where sounds are but, it's easy to know it from its name.
And before you ask, you can the system folder, you can copy from it using root explorer, but you can't modify without root
Thanks mate. Give them a try.
I know the path, where the sounds will be to find [emoji6]
Doesn't know, that root explorer will work without root.
Got them all. Thanks again @CronaMell

You're welcome
@CronaMell I'm about to msg you about this. I just upgraded to Nougat and I miss the old alarms!
Yeah, that's right. Honor killed the old sounds from emotion ui4.
Which sound/alarm did you need?

Explain clearly what you want to do with R/W permission?
Use Root Explorer : https://drive.google.com/drive/u/2/folders/0B9v3aNFonkyMdEtqYks0T0lPc2c
Use fx or ES File Explorer, there should be an option to mount system as r/w
I've been always planning to change boot animation because i have get rid from the classical miui bored boot animation once i'll get root access and install a new rom...
Well that's what i did i installed corvus os and got the root access and i searched for boot animation directory wich should be root/system/media and i was surprised that i couldn't find it . is there another directory or method for customizing the boot animation ? An answer would be great
It is in system/media for me (running ArrowOS).
Are you sure you've given your file explorer app proper root access?

This is my first time rooting my phone (tried rooting an o+ phone but couldn't unlock the bootloader) and I want to know how to my get phone's firmware. I tried using the Samsung Firmware Downloader but it won't accept my model and region.
I've tried using SuperSu to root but Root Checker says root access wasn't properly installed. What do I do now? Can I download a different firmware from a different site and is it safe? Does showing my pda code safe?
Edit: Forgot to mention I've already flashed TWRP.
Excuse me but what is your region and model number

Never mind, I manage to download the firmware and root my phone thanks to Samsung Downloader. I wasn't able to download it at first because I keep using XXU (the one I saw in *#1234#, samsung firmware) as my region but it was actually XTC (I checked Software information in the About Phone).
Ok
if twrp is installed
root the phone with magisk
My next problem is changing the /system/ into read/write. I can't access build.prop. Haven't tried using adbd insecure but I have a feeling it won't work with Android 13. I'm currently trying to find the flashable zip from this thread to convert my /system/ into read/write.

Accessing the build.prop file was not the problem, I can access it with any app (build.prop file, root explorer, etc..). My problem is whatever change I did to the build.prop file will not be saved since I don't have read/write access.

Since our system is F2FS you can't modify system it stays RO you can make a magisk module yourself to modify build prop also don't use supersu rooting is very easy just flash twrp then flash magisk. I'm making a custom rom which I'm hoping to release soon that's ext4 but I'm limited by time and the recent events from where I live so I can't give a ETA
