jeffsga88 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=7188028) deserves credit for this, He made did all the real work here, I just packaged it into a magisk module container (cant remember which one I used for this so apologies if you're not credited for this)
This should work for both stock oos and aosp (android q only). I am currently using it on Omni with working mms. In theory this should work on the 6t for visible as well.
To use;
1. Install module in magisk and reboot.
2. Open settings and navigate to network & internet
3. Open "Mobile Network"
4. Make sure VoLTE is toggled on
5. Set preferred network type to "LTE"
6. Select "Access Point Names"
7. Click the 3 dot menu button on the top right of the screen
8. Tap "Reset to default"
9. Now click the hollow circle next to Visible Internet
That's it, You should now have Visible service running on your custom rom.
Please share your experience so others will know what roms do and do not work. I'm especially curious about the 6t.

I used to use visible with a pixel 3A and service was awesome. Can anyone confirm this works on an oxygen os oneplus 7 pro? Thanks!
I have a pixel 3a xl right now and I am curious if this will work with it?
Thanks for all your work on this! I installed on Havoc ROM and rebooted. I only have Trackphone (trakphone?), Verizon, and Xfinity options. None seem to work... even after "reset to default" in APN settings.
Am I missing a step? Thanks!
Is this only for Visible or will it work for Verizon as well? MMS doesn't work on Verizon on some AOSP ROMs for the OP7 Pro
Did not work for me. I can get visible to work on roms with adding the apns...... except for MMS. Only one that worked on was Havoc.

Hi, i just want to know if there's any option to change network type to 3G ONLY (or 2G only). The options in settings are preferred network so they switch to another network type when needed, and I dont like that.
I tried *#*#4636#*#* and change it from there but it still goes back to original setting.
Any tricks/solution out there? Thanks!!!
I used to use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/widget-toggle-network-type-5-0-xda-t2945406 but it's not working for me after installing CM14.1. Some people say it's working in their devices with Android 7 though, so give it a try and see. Needs root.
If it doesn't work and you ever find an alternative, please do let us know here.

Hi, I think I found a solution. I still use the *#*#4636#*#* code and choose WCDMA Only and leave it as it is. I noticed that it only goes back to original network type IF I enter the "Cellular network settings" screen (**even without changing any options in it). So just stay away on that part in Settings and your network will stay as you selected.

Yeah, I was aware of that. That behavior (reverting to the selected mode in settings upon opening the activity) was introduced in Marshmallow. Who knows why. Unfortunately this is still not ideal for me because I usually keep the phone in 2G only unless I need a faster connection. With that plugin, which no longer works, I could use Tasker to change network modes depending on contexts or a simple tap in Tasker's persistent notification buttons, which I had configured to do just that. Going into the dialer, entering the code and then navigating through the option every time I need to change modes is too much work, but I guess I have no other option until either the dev updates his plugin or another plugin is developed.
Thanks anyway, mate.
Hey!
I have an unlocked AT&T model LGV10 (unsure which series), which I have brought back to Australia. managed to get mobile data and MMS working with APNs, but I can't use the hot spot, getting the message "There is a temporary network problem that prevents the enablement of the mobile hotspot function. Please try again later".
Have done some reading, and is it correct that I'll have to root my phone to change a .db file, or install a stock/custom ROM to get hotspot working? Happy to do that, if it's what it takes, but not totally sure the best way to do that. Any help would make my day. Thanks!

Acquiring root is easy if you are on Lollipop. If you have upgraded to MM, then I'm afraid root is not possbile (yet). See what version of Android you are running, if it's Lollipop then we'll talk about the rooting process.

I have AT&T V10 in Australia on Vodafone and this fixed my issue with tethering. I know it says H810 which is different to H900 (AT&T) but works.
For some reason if your AT&T V10 was purchased on an unlimited plan this is the fix as was my V10.
Hopefully this helps.

Would love to share with you what I did to make my V10's hotspot work.
(My phone is not rooted and have a LG-H900 model.)
1. Download "Settings Database Editor" at the playstore. The icon is a blue cog with red background.
2. Open the app then select "system"
3. Find "tether_entitlement_check_state" then set it to "0".
4. Save.
Hopefully this helps.
Champion! This worked for me.
I didn't have that setting but added it with the zero value and now I can turn on the tethering
Thanks!

Wonderful, it worked like a charm, thank you
Same here, had to add the setting, for which the option to do so shows up in pretty big letters at the top of the list.
Anyway, LG G6 Hotspot now working so massive thanks to those who helped.
(Noob alert - after selecting 'System Table' on my phone(in the top right of the screen), tap "+ Add new setting" at the top of the list, then type "tether_entitlement_check_state" without quotation marks, then tap Save Setting, then enter the value "0" without quotation marks, and tap save again, and you're done; Hotspot worked straight away without rebooting).

Had to necro this thread to offer my thanks. 2 years later and this fix still works. Same thing, branded ATT LG V10 that has been unlocked (now on MetroPCS) would not activate hotspot. Downloaded app, checked for setting (not there) added setting and rebooted. Hotspot now active. You rock!

This thread is just to report I was successful in making this device work on Xfinity mobile.
Xfinity mobile doesn't have BYOD as of this writing, so I decided an experiment was in order. I popped my Xfinity mobile sim into the VS995 V20, rooted with Dirty Santa and installed SuperV20 (with the help of a lot of great people here and on reddit), and the device worked for a week or so before losing the apn settings and the ability to connect to 4G. I could still make calls and send texts.
It was pretty brainless to edit the APN setting that it defaulted to, but the menu is buried.
Navigate to -- Settings > Data Usage > Mobile Data > (Upper Right menu) Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > Select current (Verizon in my case) APN name > paste in this below, and click OK.
COMCAST.RSLR.VZWENTP
I assume that it will be lost again, but it's a simple matter of taking 30 seconds and pasting in these settings again, which I saved in an offline note.
4G works again and I pay way less than Verizon charges for the same network. Knowing Comcast, that too will change.
Thank you, XDA, for helping me root every phone I've ever owned, take back control of MY device, and combat ad spam. Hope this helps someone.
This should work for any android phone that has problems with 4G on Xfinity mobile, but the menus may be different. Just add the APN settings mentioned here and you'll be right as rain.
thanks for posting this. now that is has been over a month what issues can you report back? when you signed up for xfinity mobile, did they make you buy a phone or did you say you just wanted a sim?

Hey, I just saw this. I log in probably 3 or 4 times a year. Sorry for the incredibly late reply.
When I signed up for xfinity mobile, there was no BYO device option. I got the cheapest phone available at the time and bought a VS995 to experiment with. There was no "sim only" option. Not sure what current options are.
I've had 0 complaints, other than when setting a new phone up or doing a full wipe and upgrade to a newer ROM. I've got a little note in my phone that I backup with this post to steer me right back to working again.
EDIT to say that I spoke too soon and upon a full, cleared flash of LOS 15.1 for VS995 the APN settings weren't able to be changed. I figured out a fix, though. You have to find your carriers APN settings. For Xfinity Mobile it's located https://www.moneysavingpro.com/carriers/xfinity-mobile-apn-settings/

This Works for 8.0 and 8.1 Devices
I came up with a new way that solves this issue.....no root required
I have confirmed this working on two Android 8.1 devices that use Verizon MVNO's (Pixel XL and Pixel 2 XL)
1. Turn phone off
2. Take out sim card
3. Boot phone up
4. Enable usb debugging and connect to PC
5. open up an ADB shell (if you dont know how to do this then do some research)
6. enter the command
Code:
am start -a android.intent.action.INSERT content://telephony/carriers --ei simId -1
7. This will open the "Add new APN" activity.
8. Fill in all the APN info you need to and name it whatever you want and then click save in the the menu options up top.
9. Once you save the APN...turn the phone off
10. Insert SIM again
12. Turn phone on and let it boot up.
11. Go to Access point names in settings and select the new APN you added.
Have a good day

So I'm guessing this has been answered before, but I couldn't dig it out in my searches. I'm on T-mobile US and need wifi calling in my basement apartments. I know on the Pixel devices, wifi calling is supported in AOSP builds die to the type of implementation of it.
Is the same true for the OP6? It'd be cool to use some of them, although the stock room in pretty great. I'm curious about it, as I am a tinkerer and will probably want to change things up eventually. I wasn't able to find reference on any of the AOSP room threads.
I'm on HAVOC OS rom (AOSP-BASED) and there is not a VoWifi toggle by default, although, you can install VoEnabler from magisk which will make the toggle appear in mobile data settings.

Someone on Reddit figured out how to enable RCS on any Android phone on any carrier!
https://www.reddit.com/r/UniversalP...a2v8r?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
You'll need an app called Activity Launcher: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.szalkowski.activitylauncher
I suggest you turn off WiFi before setup
Steps:
1.) Enroll in Messages Beta and install
2.) Download Activity Launcher
3.) Clear the data of 'Carrier Services' and force stop 'Android Messages.'
4.) Open Activity Launcher
5.) Tap 'Recent Activities,' and in the menu choose 'All Activities.'
6.) Look for 'Messages'
7.) Tap it, then scroll until you find 'Set RCS Flags'
8.) After pressing it select 'ACS Url"' and in the menu select 'http://rcs-acs-prod-us.sandbox google.com/.'
9.) Select OTP Pattern, and in the menu click, YourlsMessenger\sverification\scode\sis\sG-(\d {6}).
10.) Click Apply
11.) Follow setup in Messages. Will take around three minutes.
Step 9 doesn't save in the OTP area. Not sure if that's important but messages was able to enable the advanced feature for messaging over wifi, read receipts, typing notifications etc. Now if I can just find someone else with the feature to text with lol.
Set it up on my 4 xl, and my girlfriend's 4. Left wifi on the whole time. It took me a couple of tries to get it to work. It was easier on my girlfriend's phone. For me, I had to turn on airplane mode with WiFi on

Text me! I'm dying to try it! Dm for number
Group text?
I'm down. Nobody I know has RCS and I want to see how it works
Worked great! I'll try it tomorrow.
I wonder if it'll show on iMessage when I read things and what not. Guess I'll find out soon
Seems to be activated on my 4xl. Will try my wife's phone and then play around tomorrow.
is RCS supposed to work with other RCS users over-seas?
if so can someone PM me their number and see if it actually works
I can't verify my number. How to fix that
my pixel 3xl is eternal activation
I've tried it with my Coral, not working. I may try it this evening again, as well as on my Taimen, and see if either one works.
From Coral, with Tapatalk
I got mine to work and shows the additional chat features. After enabling, the only way I could get it to work is by going into a specific persons contact and toggling on/off the "only send SMS/mms " option. It then worked for me. It will revert back to standard after a bit but if I toggle that option again RCS comes back.
Don't know if this will help anyone else. Don't k ow how to get it to stick permanently

I've done this on several pixels 1,2,3a,4xl, sgs8 and two LG G6s... Working great on all (all at&t)
Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using XDA Labs
I have this working on two devices and after some testing I have to say unfortunately it is not working enough for day to day use. The RCS communication does work between the two devices if you are actively having a conversation but if you set them down and then try to message one the message will say sent but not be received on the other device until you pick up the other device and send a message to the sending device, then the message will come through and RCS will be working. Basically it works but it is not working to push the message through when not active. I re-tested using sms and all was good. Anyone else experience this?
