Hey got my 3a yesterday coming from an OG Pixel XL. Currently on stock rooted 10 with magisk. Are there any mods or things to do besides the edge mod or flashing a rom? Like being able to put the clock in the center or moving the back button to the other side? Thanks
Pretty sure Xposed is possible though I haven't tried it personally.
Yea edxposed with gravitybox should be able to do what you want. I'm using both but haven't tested anything with the clock as I like it to the left, I'm also using the gesture navigation so haven't checked navigation bar customisation (might be able to do that with paphonb's navigation bar app)

I noticed there is no xposed module or gravitybox for the Droids. Can we just use the Moto X stuff and it will work the same?

Ah, thanks. I didn't realize that it's just a general Gravity Box for each version of Android

not a problem!
Remember xposed also won't work with art.

Where can i download the gravitybox for my Maxx on 4.2.2? I tried downloading it from the xposed installer>download menu, it installs, but won't open. Gives an error:
"GravityBox system framework not responding. Exiting."
I downloaded GravityBox(by [email protected]) for JB ver. 2.9.4
Thanks

Do you have any other modules already working?
If not, after you installed "xposed installer", did you install the framework from within the app? you should have installed the framework and been prompted to reboot. then you install gravity box, and make sure to check the box next to it in the modules menu (may require another reboot, i do not recall). After this you will be able to change the settings within gravity box (some / most changes also require a reboot to take effect)

Yes i have another module running. I know about rebooting and all, it just wouldn't work for me. After some searching, it was suggested that i try an older version. I installed version 2.7.2 and it works. Just seems a little less refined, but atleast it works.

The newest version works with my 4.2.2 Maxx just fine. Did you remove write protection?

Thanks, installed Xposed and gravitybox with no problems! Just wanted to double check, didn't want to risk a boot loop or brick in and loose root...

This thread is old but does anyone else thats using GravityBox not have the option in the settings for Notification Drawer Style missing the option to set the Custom Image? Only options that seem to work are Default Background and Color Fill.

Nevermind it miraculously showed up somehow.
Is there a way that I can get my search button back? I would like to change the recent apps button to a search button.

Check Xposed Sense 6 toolbox or Xposed Gravity Box KK
That's a stock system setting now. Settings -> Display, Gestures & Buttons -> Recent Apps.

Where can I get that? I see Xposed Sense 5 toolbox, but not 6. Is it something I can get in the google play store, or do I have to get an apk somewhere? I just got S-Off, so I'm trying to fix this issue now. Other than that and the Verizon bloat, this phone is perfect.
Ok, I got Xposed Framework installed, but the latest version of Sense Toolbox is for 5 and crashes instantly when I try to run it. Gravity Box says it's for AOSP roms, so I'm doubting it would work.

Derp. I left out xposed from the search and it was the first result. I'll probably wait until I install Skyfall to try it. I'm sick of the Verizon apps reinstalling themselves after I delete them with root explorer.
Settings -> Display, Gestures & Buttons -> Recent Apps.
Anybody know if this is available yet for our phone. I used to have this and it was great. I especially liked it for allowing YouTube to play in the background.

Yes, as long as you're rooted with Magisk. Download the SDK 26 framework version if you're on Oreo.
If you're only interested in background playing for YouTube, there is a Magisk module for that, too, so you wouldn't need Xposed. I'm only running it for GravityBox so I couid change a few SystemUI components.
Additional info from the screenshots. Check the official Magisk and Xposed XDA threads for any downloads you may need.

Seems the magisk module isn't working to keep YouTube open in the background. I'll try the xposed now.

Strange... Works fine on my end. You may need to fully uninstall YouTube first, then install the Magisk module and reboot. A reboot after uninstalling YouTube may be helpful, too. Also, when I install an updated LeeDroid ROM, I choose not to install YouTube during the Aroma setup process. Then through Magisk, I install the background YouTube module.
You can use Firefox with this plugin:

Also you can use Firefox in desktop version to let Youtube run in background.
Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried to install xposed sdk 26 on their u12 yet or is it foolish without a recovery backup?
I flashed it using the Magisk App. Only thing I use it for is Greenify.
But with any Android around here. Make sure you have backups etc.
I personally have an RUU saved so if anything I'll just reflash my phone.
I use the Magisk Module "Xposed Framework (SDK 26)", systemless. It works without problems, but you neeed to use a special Xposed Installer app, linked in the module description.
The following Xposed Modules work for me: AFWall+, GravityBox [O], XPrivacyLua
Anyone have any more experience with Xposed on the U12+? There are just a few mods and tweaks I am missing and thinking about trying Xposed. I will report back my experience, thanks.
I was able to install Xposed with no issues but couldn't install gravitybox, plus it states that Xposed is for pure vanilla ROMs so I don't know
Xposed + GravityBox, XInsta and Greenify works without any problems. Disabled it because I want to use Google pay (doesn't work together)
Do not fool with Xposed. It is not worth the trouble I promise.

Which features are you missing. Maybe there's a Magisk Module available for the one of the other.

The only thing I really miss is back to kill. Really don't need much more. Probably don't even need that, it just became a habit lol. By the way, trying Xposed screwed my ability to use face unlock even after removing it. I had to run the RUU to get it back.
***EDIT I also miss the advanced power menu.
