[Review] Schnail Savior Series Case - Google Pixel 4 XL Accessories

Ok let's start out by saying I work as a mechanic so my phone get put through hell from being dropped regularly to bring splashed with oil and greese and some brake cleaner from time to time... So far this case has held up to all of it...
Pros:
*Case is light weight for the most part
*Wireless charging works flawlessly unlike other cases I've used
*The sound port to make speakers front firing is amazing great sound
*Great protection for the phone
*Magnetic phone mounts work great as well (if you position the plate correctly you can keep wireless charging as well)
Cons:
*Can be difficult to install the first time but after that no issues at all
The cases feels great in the hands and fits the pixel 4 xl perfectly... The lip to protect the screen isnt to bad I personally thought it would bug me
but its not to noticable.... I would recommend this case to anyone looking to get a case for there pixel...

Too bulky for my taste, makes the phone look like you're carrying a brick. Much better cases out there for example the below.

I think this will offer equal protection in a thiner profile.

I went with a trusted brand that I always use and have never had damage from a drop with any phone I have put into their case : https://www.tech21.com/en_us/protection/google/pixel-4-xl

Flip or S-View cover for the S5 ala S4 ?

I'm browsing the web in search of a S5 cover for my wife and I'm shocked to see how poor the choice actually is.
I'm searching for a Flip Cover (with or without the S-View function) in the style of the S4 which was fantastic as it was really slim, something that matters for her.
The official S5 covers look like crap : expensive, bulky, doesn't even close properly and you can't turn the flip part around the phone. It's like they were trying to make a book..:silly:
Even the generally good Spiegen/Ringke catalog is poor when it comes to flip covers (too bulky or they are wallet versions, which she's not into).
Any advice ?
I have s-view ant it fells awesome, no problems! In my opinion you should get s-view, or just place screen protector! s-view feel great in hands and it easy flips to the back of phone. Its not even bulky! Phone looks more amazing in it.

Actually there is more than you think, you just need to know where to search for them, I do agree, the range is limited if you compare it to the note 3, not sure about the S4.
try searching samsung's home town.
I have the S view case also, and I really like it. No need to open it to do small things like open camera. I really like it.
I have one of the OE Samsung flip covers and really like it. I used to have problems with my phone's screen coming on in my pocket and this automatically keeps the display turned off.

I don't think anyone knows how to read.
You can find some aftermarket ones on the web similar to the S4 but quality wise im not sure
I feel your pain it's one of the main reasons i have not upgraded from S4 to S5 i love how simple, skinny flap and ROUNDED the corners are on my S4 s view cover they Fu**ed up with the S5's case with being square edged and the stitching unnecessary. They need to make a S5 case exactly like the S4's (they can put the big window in) but use same materials f
ake leather isn't for everyone
I initially bought the S-view case for mine... Honestly I wasn't impressed. Very cheesy materials, and a lot of apps didn't know how to use the s-view functionality. Of course if you put a different ROM on the phone that isn't touchwiz based all that functionality goes out the window. I ended up ordering a Spigen SlimArmor case and never looked back.
Yes I agree with you. S5 fill covers are really disappointed and ugly.

i actually think the squared design of the S5 s-view case is an upgrade to the S4's. say if you drop the phone on the corners, the squared part will take impact first and save your phone more or less. i've had the S-view case for the S4 for some time, but switches between some tpu cases and the s-view. to each their own though, i feel the S5 s-view case is better in all perspectives compared to the last generation, the only gripe is that it's heavier and thicker.

The old design for the s4 has horrible!! It the same back piece with a flap on it and provided no protection at all. I literally dropped it once and shattered my screen. The new on is way better.

It was not designed for drop protection.... It was a very slim and sleek (very non bulk adding) way of protecting your screen from scratches. My whole reason for not liking the S5's cover is because of snagging those corners on my pocket pulling my phone in and out of my pocket.

I have the galaxy s-view case and it is not bulky to me at all . The fact that you take off the battery cover before attaching it to the s-view case keeps it really slim. I added the spigen magnet to it so the flip cover stays shut just in case i drop it . Normally i dont use any case with my phones cause it makes them either look like crap or just makes it too bulky . I dont know if its the s5 s-view you were talking about when you cant turn the flip part around the phone but thats not the case with the s-view . I got mine and its OEM on amazon for 8.99 used but it was perfect in condition . I would at least try to put the s-view on your phone in the store and see if you like it .

I agree the s-view is amazing . It keeps the phone slim and protects it great at the same time + it looks good too . I like that you can take pictures without opening it . I had someone take a picture of me with my GS4 and they dropped my phone and broke it . I dont have to worry about it with this
My issue with the S-View case is the elasticity of the cover. When you've had the case open for a while it doesn't fully close for some time; it does eventually but you end up having to put the phone face down or manually turn the screen off.
I do like the ability to view texts with the cover closed though but certainly will look into getting some magnet.

Heads up: Cheap but awesome metal case

Hey guys and girls,
Just want to give you a heads up about a metal case i received in the mail today. Took a chance at ordering this case and did not expect much of it, untill now. The quality is really nice. Very snug and made og strong materials. Even the buttons are metal. No rattles no loose gaps or sliding phone inside. Just perfect.
As for the signal i see no loss so far.

Magnetic port Loose Issues Xperia Z3

Im really mad at this , my xperia z3 magnetic port loose after a use of 2 weeks with the charging dock , thats mean im loosing waterproof , any solid fix for that ? a glue or something ? sony doesnt respond for that kind of ''issues'' ... **** sony
Just today I started noticing issues on my magnetic connecter/port, and have started to look around. The only information I've found so far is about how Sony isn't really covering this in a manner we'd expect.
*Edit* I do see that several people seem to be gluing the port back in. Not sure if anyone has had more success with Sony or their Vendor. I may, myself, contact T-Mobile at least before I try anything myself.
Mine has been fixed under warranty by UK Sony.
Unfortunately, it came out second time as well.
The problem is the magtron x2. - DO NOT BUY THAT!
Apparently, I am looking for a glue to do the job for myself…
I could send the phone back but that would be the longest solution…

Too strong magnet
the adhesive I've seen recommended is sikaflex 291, which is on amazon - it's a marine sealant apparently
just to add that the black magnetic connectors seem so much harder to find for the Z3 than the white ones, although a german retailer called handyersatzteilshop.de seems to have them, and they ship internationally
I think this could be good for the job. What do u think?
http://m.loctite.co.uk/en/product-overview/superglue/power-flex/power-flex-control.html
http://fs2.directupload.net/images/user/150215/5xude3mt.jpg
seems to tick a lot of boxes, although one or two others had temperature ranges included as part of the sales pitch - I've used that stuff before for general purposes to be honest, and it's quite fluid - when the connector falls out is there any indication as to how the original glue was applied by sony, and is there much risk of the replacement glue seeping into the rest of the phone?

I'm not sure if it would but if it's liquid then it might be hard to cover all holes for water entry. I used a clay adhesive and though it was hard to apply because the area is small, it did a great job of sealing my magnetic port so that I can still have water proof on the device and the port is very strong now.

Water proof Gorilla Epoxy works wonders, used it to fix the LCD to my LG G2 after a screen replacement, it has a 3200 psi rating.

Are y'all yanking out the magnetic charger thing straight out? I usually just snap it off to the side so that I don't apply so much force to the charger port.

Is that easy to apply. I mean the area is tiny and does it make it waterproof?

You have to mix the epoxy and apply, it's a bit thick and gooey but you can still easily get the required amount. I used a small metal tab to get my G2s LCD fixed in place, as you know the G2 has a tiny bezel, if I used too much it would have gone into the LCD layers, but I avoided that.
sisqoboy, did you manage to fit the replacement connector, and any tips?

Does ANYTHING stick to this phone?

I'm trying to attach a magnetic plate (for a vent mount) to the back of my honor 8, and this glass surface is like magic, nothing will stick to it! The double-sided tape that came with the plate held for about 5 seconds; hot-glue (my usual fool-proof solution) popped off instantly. Super-glue doesn't bond to the glass.
Has anyone found a reliable way to attach things to the back glass?
(Side note: Pretty as the glass case is, I would never buy buy a phone with it again. Too slippery and too fragile, I cracked the back glass within 2 days of getting the phone.)
Put it inside a case..... Not pretty but then again gluing something on the back isn't either.

Silicon case and a slim magnet in the back.
But I wouldn't use magnets as it might mess up with the sensors. I´m just guessing here...

The plate you put under the case is just metal and the magnet is on the holder you stick in the vent of your car. Sensors seems to work without any issues.

if glass breaks then replace it - don't touch it until it does. But buy the phone suggested above for the spare part.
Looking closely at it I would guess you would have to take everything apart to get at it. You can experiment with the replacement phone.

My bet is you'd ruin it.

yes it's definitely part of the housing. it's not part of the "accent" and not part of the camera.

yeah probably plastic. I was very careful when I removed it so just pressed it back on. My case would keep it from falling off if loose. Do not impart any bend to it or it won't lie flat.

It looks like there's one in the new camera already attached (link to ebay above)
