Hi, sorry if I didn't answer you right away but it was a pure coincidence that I noticed a reply to the thread. However, the battery cover seems to work perfectly but it heats the phone a little after a few 10-20 min but it is fine, it makes the phone a little solid

My chat for a battery replacement with LG - (I recommend you look)

Okay so some weird and informative information came out while I was chatting with a rep. Not going to hype it or make a big deal, that is on the rest of you guys.
Here is the transcript:

Chat TranscriptTime of chat: 6/20/2011 1:46:14 PM
Length of chat: 00:47:33
Your name: Guest
Chatted with: Jorge
12:46 PM Jorge: Hello Guest. Welcome to LG Electronics! How may I provide you with excellent service today?
12:47 PM Guest: Hi I would like to request a replacement battery for my G2x as it has been overheating consistantly over the past 3 weeks, and I am afraid that the battery has been damaged or batery life has been reduced
12:48 PM Jorge: I really apologize that you are having this problem.
12:48 PM Jorge: I would be happy to help you with that.
12:48 PM Guest: Also, I was wondering why every warranty replacement I get from T-Mobile for my G2x has the screen bleed issue? I am on my 3rd replacement and it has the same problem
12:48 PM Guest: I ordered another one and it is on backorder, does that mean new stock will come from LG that has G2x's with out the problem?
12:52 PM Jorge: one moment.
12:52 PM Jorge: To replace the battery you will need to send the battery to LG so we can test it.
12:53 PM Guest: How can I be with out a battery? Its my only phone
12:53 PM Jorge: Once the battery is received by LG Wireless the repair time is 5 to 7 business days to ship the replacement back.
12:53 PM Jorge: did you try to replace the battery with T mobile?
12:54 PM Guest: They said to contact you guys
12:57 PM Guest: Do you know anything about the G2x issues?
12:58 PM Jorge: One moment
1:07 PM Jorge: According to our service bulletin
1:07 PM Jorge: The symptom that you are describing about the screen is called Light leakage.
1:08 PM Guest: yes?
1:08 PM Jorge: 맑은고딕Steps to reduce the Light Leakage symptom: Keep the Brightness setting to either Automatic or set to mid level = Settings > Display > Brightness > checkmark on Automatic or set the toggle to the middle. Avoid using solid dark back grounds/Wallpapers.
1:08 PM Guest: That doesnt fix the problem it just hides it
1:08 PM Guest: I want a fix, not a mask
1:09 PM Jorge: 맑은고딕This symptom is not causing any performance issue with the device and it is not considered as a defect. Since it is caused by the display on the device there is no way to alter the design of it nor change the type of LCD used.
1:09 PM Guest: is there any word on if they will fix it or have units that don't have the problem at all?
1:09 PM Jorge: 맑은고딕It will only appear in certain conditions and settings such asark background settings in the bright area.If the brightness has been increased all the way up in the dark environment.Note: It will not appear during normal usage conditions.
1:11 PM Guest: It is still a visual defect that is there
1:12 PM Guest: Its similar to having a scratch on a screen, it affects nothing on the phone, but the scratch is still there, and can be seen in only certian conditions
1:12 PM Guest: and it is usually unwantd
1:13 PM Guest: Why do we have to deal with a quality control issue with the LCD?
1:14 PM Jorge: 맑은고딕In the case of our G2x, the Light Leakage that occurs is due to the type of LCD screen that is used- a TFT LCD (Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display).TFT LCDs create shadows with uneven brightness on upper LCD corners. This is the case for many devices that use TFT displays- including other competitor’s models in the market. However, the sharpness of this symptom may vary from model to model.
1:16 PM Guest: Why do we have to deal with a quality control issue with the LCD of other phones, and I have had many TFT screened phoens
1:16 PM Guest: I have never had any issues like the G2x, and I have had many TFT screened phoens
1:17 PM Guest: whoops it sent the message twice, half from my other and half from my current messege
1:18 PM Jorge: I am sorry that you are having this inconvenience with the phone; unfortunately LG manufactures the phones as the service provider’s request. LG will love to have all our customers satisfied with the products, however the service provider makes specific requests that we by contract have to comply with.
1:19 PM Guest: Is there a repair option for this issue?
1:20 PM Jorge: Unfortunately no.
1:21 PM Guest: Are they at least trying to reduce the issue by
attempting to change the way they manufacture the LCD?
1:22 PM Jorge: Yes.
1:22 PM Guest: Ah what new method are they attempting?
1:24 PM Jorge: Changed the LCD provider.
1:25 PM Guest: Oh i see
1:26 PM Jorge: Are you going to send the battery?
1:27 PM Guest: no i am going to request one from T-Mobile I cant be with out a battery, it would render my phone ulseless.
1:28 PM Jorge: Is there anything else I can assist you with today?
1:28 PM Guest: nope you have been a great help thanks for the information!
1:29 PM Guest: I really do appreciate it it gives me some light on the issue
1:32 PM Jorge: All right then, you are very welcome. It has been a pleasure chatting with you today. By pressing the exit or "End live chat" button you would be able to see the survey and score your experience with me. I will now remain on the chat line for around 2 minutes before exiting the chat session. Its weird that there was random Korean in there. I would screen shot it but its too long, if any one wants me to email it to them, I will gladly PM it to them. I really loved how informative and informed this rep was. I guess every G2x has the light leakage since its in their service bulletin, aka a memo. Maybe the new LCD provider will make better displays? Maybe that was the cause of the delay?
Soooo nothing got solved.....he told you what we have known since 4/20, and you didnt even put up a fight about your battery?? And you still told him he was very helpful!!?? Lol, You are back to square one....
G2X
Do you have a link to the chat? I want to see if I can get any info about the Gingerbread update.
Wow, a lot of you guys have had nothing but bad/weird experiences with customer service. I'm happy I don't have any issues with my phone aside from the GPS working screwy sometimes. I don't use it too often, so I can't say how often it works incorrectly. It did work fine the last time I tried it though.
But aside from that, my battery life is GREAT. I have no screen issues. My phone rebooted maybe twice within the first few days of having it but as of right now, it has been going for over 36 hours. The last restart I did myself. I do it occasionally. I hope I don't jinx it, but I may be one of the more lucky ones with the G2X.

I can get it through T-Mobile. Thats why. I don't want to send MY battery in, just so they can take 7 days to send me a new one.

It was unintentional. I am not a troll pro yet . Haha.
I just thought it was interesting that he would say its because of the LCD, and a memo saying the issue is basically in all G2xs.

Spare battery?

Guys, do you know if it's possible to change battery and where to find a new one?
It is actually quite possible to change the battery, however I've yet to find a site that sells one. I wish I could remember the sight that posted a tear down of the 8.9 . It showed that there was only a ribbon cable blocking access to it which was easily unplugged. There was also no glue involved. The back casing just has clips to hold it in place.
I've read a couple of websites showing the disassembly of this tablet, and as far a I understood it's very easy. But the problem is to find a replacement battery. On ebay I've found only 10.1 battery.
Btw do you know whether the 10.1 battery somehow fits 8.9?

Goodbye Htc Evita Community

Having had my One X for about 2 years, I have gone through almost every rom that was ever relased for this wonderful phone. Sadly Monday, my phone's life came to a tragic end. Although having an Otterbox commuter case on it, and only dropping about 2 feet, my phone was nearly destroyed. The screen is shattered which wasn't a problem at first because the screen still worked, yet throughout the day I kept getting SIM card errors and the camera stopped working. The case didn't protect my phone at all. I'm going to make it a music device for my car. This was my first phone that I modded with and without this community I wouldn't be working on my new LG Optimus G Pro. I will miss my One X and this community. Thanks guys for all the mods/roms/recovery's that you guys developed!
That's too bad :'(
Sent from my One X using XDA Free mobile app
Shocked that happened with an ottorbox commuter on it, I have one on mine and have dropped it countless times with no marks.

Just got it yesterday, BEAUTIFUL phone, but cameras kind of suck!

Amazon delivered the phone yesterday and so far, I'm impressed. It's been a while since I've owned a Motorola device. I've been burned too many times by them in the past with lack of updates and said I would never buy another one. I have 30 days to decide if I'm going to keep this one. Unfortunately, I'm a photo guy. And so far, the cameras on this device are REALLY underwhelming. Soft focus, lack of detail, especially in low light. The selfie camera kind of blows. I'll spend some more time with it, but the cameras could be a deal breaker. We shall see.
Hopefully we will see Gcam for this one

Is there any chance you could post some sample shots? Part of me wants to try this phone out but camera is really important. Like others have said, I'm hoping gcam will be available for it.

I boxed it up and sent it back today. The back cameras are mediocre but the selfie camera was pretty terrible. For some reason when using the selfie camera my entire skin tone would appear an orangy/yellow. It was crazy. It happened pretty often. I watched a few youtube reviews of the Edge and one of them noted the exact same phenomena. Based on Motorola's reputation for updates, I decided to send it back. I have a $250 Xiaomi Note 9S that takes way better pictures than this thing.
I think it takes more then a day or to, still working though some issues.
Been back and forth with TMO and Motorola engineers on 5G speeds running a lot slower then OnePlus 8
Took some random pictures today.

THose trees seem a bit out of focus. I'm getting similar results but I usually take 3-4 pictures at a time anyway and can usually get a clean shot that way. Shame that the screen sharpens the image more than the sensor.

That is an issue with both the Edge and Edge +. You would think a software update could fix that but I don't have a lot of confidence in Motorola doing that.
Will be fixing these problems, when there's a recovery for it(twrp?) It's already in bootloader state. Problem is, that I decide to root, 6 months into the warranty, just to make sure it's still working correctly. This thing seriously needs viper4android. It could use a true gesture replacement, like FNG, Xposed Edge, something. Moto actions has some useful stuff in the rom, but some things don't go far enough, in settings. As far as the cam goes, maybe they can tune that. The hardware's there, just needs to be "uncommercialized".

Thanks for posting. Have you tried to see if any Gcam works?
Just downloaded a Gcam seems to be working will take some pictures and post over the weekend!
Coming form a Pixel 3 which has the all time favorite camera, I have very high expectations for Motorola Edge. If we can get Gcam on it, I will root in an instant.

What APK are you using for Gcam?
I did some pics today with Gcam and mixed results on the screen it looks good but on computer mhhhh
Missing detail and the edges seem blurry not sharp

I used the one for Edge +
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog385/
Try burial's 7.3 for the Edge plus. For whatever reason Moto has unnaturally sharpened the image on the screen before you take the photo, at least with the Edge plus. Them when you see it somewhere else it can be soft, if not blurry.
