Hey... so I bought the SGT2 7, the garnet red, 8gb version, JB 4.1.1, and have a couple questions.
1 - The speaker placement is different than most pics I've seen, and even in a different place than the case that came with it! In most of the pics the speaker is on the front of the tab, at the top of portrait mode next to the camera. On my tab the speakers are on the edge, at the bottom in portrait mode and there's 2 of them at each corner. Also the display model at Costco had the speakers on the bottom edge but they boxes showed it on the top front. What's up with that? Did they change the position of it? Is bottom edge the newer version? Do you think it's better on bottom edge or top front?
2 - The main reason I bought it is to use in my car to replace my car stereo/nav unit. I have a 64gb card in my phone that has a lot of music on it. I would like to be able to control that music using my Tab and stream the music from my Tab to the car via BT. Is that possible to control the music that's on my phone and have it output via the Tab? I'm having issues streaming audio using BT from my phone to car, haven't figured out the issue yet so I'm hoping it will work with the Tab, otherwise I'll use the aux cable. I do want the music output to be from the Tab so the phone can stay in my purse unless I need it on the charger.
If it makes any difference I will have the Tab tethered to my phone, rooted HTC Rezound, so that I can use it for internet radio, navi, etc....
Also, heard about TabletTalk. Found DeskSMS. Any rival apps? Suggestions?
3. I saw an older post that said IR wasn't working on custom ROMs, is it working now? That's the other reason I justified buying this, it is supposed to be my univseral remote for all my audio/video equipment at home, working pretty well except it seems the only "other devices" are Apple TV and Roku. Would like to use it for Xbox too since I use that for streaming from pc atm. Is there a better app?
Not planning on rooting the Tab until I'm sure it's going to suit my needs. Costco gives me 90 days to play with it and decide if I want to keep it, so that's nice.
Thanks for any help.

To send send/receive SMS from tablets, laptops and desktops you could take a look at PopMyPhone. It uses email to bridge between the phone and any email capable device so there are no additional apps required on the tablet. Search the Play store for PopMyPhone
Okay... why would I not get audio from an aux cable out to my aux in on my car?

I'm getting the same issue. I get it literally for like 20 seconds then it cuts out. It's odd

Yeah, I had it the first time I plugged it in then it disappeared. Then I kept unplugging and plugging back in then switched ends of the cable around and still nothing ever again. Came inside and tried my earbuds and had no issues at all.
The main reason I bought it is to use for my car. Ugh. It doesn't make any sense. I can see there may be reasons why bluetooth streaming might be an issue with my phone since it's rooted and running a global leak, but even that works with the cable no problem.

Yea I tried it today for the first time and it played those few seconds then cut out. I was thinking it was the song but no matter what one I selected it kept doing it. I don't have to any issues with my headphones either. Some of the things samsung has done to this tab makes me wonder

Anyone else having trouble getting the phone to play nice with their car's built in Bluetooth?
I have a 2012 Chevy Equinox and my Phab 2 Pro refuses to maintain a bluetooth connection with it. It pairs without issue, but then disconnects 2 seconds later.
I have no issues when using the Phab 2 Pro with a bluetooth headset (although my headset supports A2DP and my car does not, so that may be a factor).
Sorry for no help with your issue, but my Bluetooth experience has been Flawless. I have a Ford F150. Also works great with my headsets. Even seems to have better signal strength than my Nexus 6.
Haven't received my phone yet, but my Toyota RAV4 is a major pain when it comes to Bluetooth (current phone LG G3). My Pebble watch is also sensitive. I use both regularly so if there's a problem I'll know soon enough. I'll try to report back once I get the phone and try it out.
Ford SYNC has occasional issues (i have a very early version of SYNC), but it connects automatically 95% of the time.
Got my P2P today. Used it to listen to a podcast for about 30 minutes in the RAV4, and hooked up my Pebble later. So far it has been completely painless. No Bluetooth drops at all. Will update if that changes.
Edit: still working great, haven't had a single drop or crash.

Hi, Did you get this problem solved? We just bought a Phab 2 pro and it has the same trouble as you described with a 2011 Chevy Equinox .

No, I did not. I wound up returning my Phab2 for a refund. I got an Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra instead, and am much happier with it.

Thanks a lot for the feedback. I am also leading toward to returning it. I can connect this Phab 2 pro to any other bluetooth devices except for this most expensive one: Chevy Equinox. By searching the internet, I got the impression that GM's cars around 2010 have a lot bluetooth problems especially with newer phones.
I am also interested in this Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra. I will be grateful if you can let me know which carrier you are using and whether Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra can use the LTE/4G service from that carrier.

Sorry for the late response. You have likely already sorted out the answer for yourself, but I am posting anyway in case anyone else has the same question.
I am using the Zenfone 3 Ultra with T-Mobile here in the USA. Unfortunately, it does not work with LTE/4G at all - however, the speeds with 3G on it are faster than I ever got from the Phab 2 Pro (which did get 4g according to the icon on the notification bar). That having been said, I can no longer recommend the Zenfone 3 Ultra to T-Mobile customers as they are starting to decommission their 3G network in many areas of the country. If you have some other carrier, then I definitely recommend checking if the Zenfone 3 Ultra supports their bands - it is an amazing phone and definitely worth getting if it will work with your carrier.
Well, as the title says... I was commonly using my note (barely a week old) and I came to notice that my wireless BOSE SoundSport works perfectly with certain apps and not with others... Pandora/Netflix and other streaming apps works find, with equalizer settings on and normal (off)... I've notice that crackle/echo sound mainly with games, games tested were CoC/Need for Speed No Limits/Real Racing 3/TWD: Season 1, 2/ and GoT: Season 1. So, to rule out any other doubts and try to see what's not working properly, I borrowed a random Apple wired earphones and everything worked perfectly. I tried a friend's BEAT's and got the same issue... so, it's definitely a BT issue... I have another BOSE set (wired) in the car that I could use in the meantime...
So, I did my extensive search before bugging you all, I did the unpair/re-pair... reset all of my network settings, tried different devices as mentioned above, rebooting the phone while paired and unpaired... so, I'm at a loss right now and baffled a bit... the earphones are about 2 months old and the phone was purchased last friday.... so both fairly new. I read that the S8's and S8+'s have similar issues, any insight from you all about this matter?
Bluetooth audio sucks. It's never worked well. I've had similar issues with every phone I've ever owned.

Well, that doesn't sound promising... heh, I initially purchased the wireless BOSE because I was considering purchasing the iPhone X since they don't have the 3.5 mini jack. In light of that decision, iOS (Apple) has been screwing us jailbreakers since iOS 9.3.5 and I had an iPhone 6+ on iOS 8.4 JB, when I destroyed my iPhone because of obvious dated software and loss of connection "due to it", AT&T sent me a new one through the insurance program and it came with iOS 11... *shiver*... needless to say, hated the stock iPhone OS... couldn't do crap!... which ultimately forced me to move onto Android and decided to go to the Note 8. I see that the Note 8 is also a pain to root but as is, it does a lot that the iPhone doesn't. Just minor stuff that I'm use to with the iPhone that the Note isn't doing.
I do have a pair of wired BOSE earphones, so it's not like it's the end of the world, sort of got use to being without a wire tugging at me if it snags. How far does this dates with ****ty BT audio? I mean the audio is great on Pandora and other streaming service apps, it's just game apps sound terrible... I don't see why the audio chipset isn't capable to switch over without issue.

Bluetooth audio in general is just lower quality that wired, even on iPhone.
If it's only having issues during the games you might want to adjust the phones performance settings to be on the highest.
Use game tuner to adjust it.

I'm not complaining about the overall audio quality of the earphones while using a wireless setting. The echo/crackle is unbearable while running a game while music streaming or movie/tv streaming apps worked flawlessly... good quality sound via BT. Looking at your attachment I don't see that option on my phone. I know there is a performance option but not like yours .
Nevermind found it in the play store. I'll mess with GameTuner and BT tomorrow.
So, I used that Game Tuner app and the stock performance mode options on the phone and still does the same thing with BT connection... funny thing is I just now let pandora playing in the background and started up a game and well, pandora played normally while the game stuttered/echoed and crackled... The game apps just dont function with BT well as far as transmitting sound... the bandwidth is probably too slow for that much information to travel over the air...?? hmmm... thought it had BT 5.0 which this wouldn't have happened... I was happy Samsung had Qualcomm do their network chip because of their quality.... don't know wtf happened there.

That sounds like a game issue not a BT issue. Does it happen with all games. I have not had the same issue playing a few games I play.

Happens with the games I have installed currently. This only happens when the BT earphones are connected not with the 3.5mm jack. Even on a BT Samsung speaker it does the same noises... What's a game you have that runs well for you?
But for sure it has to do with the gaming apps and BT together... only happens when both are working.
Ok, thread's over.... apparently something happened during the first install which caused the apps to run a muck and sound crappy.. reinstalled them and they're working after installing other random games to see if I'll get the same defective sound and they worked perfectly... and now my other games that I actually play as I'm re-installing them are working... so far. thanks
HA! not a fix, some of those games still have that issue... either wait for Samsung or used wired earphones for those games
Hello there. I've the same problem as yours. My note8 + razer hammerhead bt have cracking sound when playing need for speed no limits. How did you fix this game? Only a simple reinstall? I've reinstalled but still the same.
I've my hammerhead bt with other android phone + no limit and it worked fine! So im guessing this is a samsung problem
I've had my airpods for over a year and since the beginning I've had a bad experience with them when using them with my Pixel. One consistent problem is that I fairly regularly have to unpair the airpods from my Pixel and then repair them to get them to connect. The biggest problem, however, is that when I put the airpods back in their charging case they almost always remain connected to my Pixel. I didn't realize this for the longest time but this seemed to be killing their charge. Does anyone have this problem?
airpods..
The AirPods will not support features like automatic disconnection after taking out the headphones or double tapping if it is paired with a non-Apple device though by default
now that said the airpods can connect to 2 things at one like an iphone and an apple watch at the same time this is why you see them stays conncted on your phone it did the same with my smart tv and my pixel 3 which was weird to me hearing my phone ring while watching tv with the airpods ... anyway there is a way to counter that .. just download the airbattery app on the playstore
this app will bringing pretty much all functions avilable with ios including disconnecting em when take em.out of your ears or when you put em in their case as well as automatic discovery when you open the case and the google assistant as well as spotify options note that you ll need to keep the app on all time or re-run it everytime
Yeah, I've had "AirBattery" installed for a while and it didn't make a difference. I got a Pixel 3 a few weeks ago so I don't know if I still have the issue with my Pixel 3.
Hello. So I've recently switched from a Oneplus 7 to 7 Pro and I have a problem with airpods volume. Whenever I connect them to the phone, even if I put the volume at max it still sounds like half the volume from the Oneplus 5. I've tried enabling/disabling absolute volume, reconnecting them and forgetting them, changing audio codecs, wiping all data, wiping data of bluetooth, but without no success. Nothing really worked. Anybody in this situation/knows some solution?

Have you been running Android 10 on your 7 pro since you got it? When your Airpods are connected try going into bluetooth settings, click on the Airpods to go into the headphones settings, then toggle 'Media Volume' off then back on. I was having bluetooth issues with my car and I randomly tried this one day and everything was all good again so hopefully you haven't tried it and it works for you.

Yep, I am currently using Android 10 and this issue was also on 9 (Pie). I have tried the media volume also several times but without no success (forgot to mention). Also another thing to mention, my phone is not rooted but I can accept some volume boosters or settings in root folder if that actually works.

Hmm I was really hoping that would work. In that case I'm not too sure. Have you ruled out a defective pair of headphones? I ask because I have a pair of Powerbeats Pros and those are pretty similar and also Apple made and I don't have these issues. Other than that, I believe Viper4Android is a rooted extension that might help you.

They are not defective because I use them a lot on other devices and also on Apple ones and everything is fine. I will try the Viper thing + root asap (or as soon as a tutorial for rooting android 10 arrives) and give you and the forum feedback. Thank you for your suggestion!
Having the exact same issue. Weird because it was fine just a while ago. No idea why it decided to decrease max volume all of a sudden.
I am also facing the same exact issue and it is crazy frustrating.
Mines seems to work fine 50 % of the time. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!
Sanme problem here in a mi mix 3
I dont get any sound at all, completely mute! But I know they are communicating on some level because I can pause/skip tracks using double tap while in spotify! Makes no sense
I can confirm that I faced this issue on oneplus 6 , pissed me off, sold the Airpods 2, sold the op6 .. got myself oneplus 7 pro, bought airpods 2 and issue appeared again ... which is RIDICULOUS and making me think oneplus might be doing this on purpose because it worked very well on Android 9 for OP 7PRO until I upgraded today to Android 10 and here I am the same issue.
any solution maybe in the horizon ?
I have Airpods Gen 2 as well but don't seem to have any issue.
I am rooted, and running rooted stock OOS 10.0.3 with arter97 kernel, with a few Magisk modules, but no DSPs or anything that affects volume/bluetooth. I also use Android Auto with either cable or bluetooth often.
Has anyone tried troubleshooting this using Developer Options?
I would trying disabling absolute volume and see if that has any affect on it...
Also see if changing the Bluetooth Audio settings in Developer Options has any affect on it... I can see how perhaps a few of those settings might affect or fix this.

I spoke to oneplus they advised resetting network and disabling absolute volume in developer options. the problem seemed to vanish.
Please guys try and report back.
now I got full volume of the airpods
one more thing, please format your phone and it will work fine
Seems like a pretty extreme way to resolve it... Don't you think? ?
Hi, did anyone ever get a permanent answer for this??? I've been having the same issue and have tried literally every step. Even when i format my phone sometimes it will work and other times it wont. even when it does work its a temporary solution and the volume will eventually go low again at some point - this is when i format my phone all over again losing all my apps and settings which is very frustrating!!
