[MOD] [Violet] Stereo Speaker Mod - Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro Themes, Apps, and Mods

Warning: NOT responsible for any issues caused by the MOD. Do at your own risk!
Fined tuned this Stereo Mod for Violet. Tried different volume levels and it works well so far at this. Cover the bottom speakers with your finger(s) and test it out. However, if you hear any crackling, immediately stop using, and lower the volume level in /system/vendor/etc/mixer_paths.xml - "Earpiece" (default set to 90. DO NOT exceed over 100, and ideally even beyond this current config).
Instructions:
1. Flash using Magisk and Reboot
2. Profit!
PS: Coming from xiaomi.eu MIUI11 Stable. Have not tested it on other ROMs, but there's no reason why it shouldn't work.

OFFICIAL and HOMEMADE builds are not intercompatible! You will need to do a full wipe if you are switching from one to the other.
CURRENT ISSUES ON OFFICIAL:
1. Incall speaker volume is too low (earpiece volume is fine)
2. Camera sometimes doesn't start (rare)
3. Blutooth and FM radio can't be used concurrently. If you use either you need to reboot to use the other.
4. Double tap to wake doesn't work
5. Adding fingerprints only works on initial device setup. Adding fingerprints from Settings is buggy.

Been trying this out since yesterday. Nice ROM, very smooth. Its great to see an AOSP rom with 90% of functionality. Battery usage is on par with stock.
One bug that I noticed is that if bluetooth is on (regardless of whether it is connected or not), it'll keep a 'bluesleep' wakelock which preents the device from going into Deep sleep.
Edit: Another note on the deep sleep problem. Even after turning bluetooth off, the phone doesn't deep sleep. Other wakelocks (event3, event4, event6) show as keeping the phone awake. Reboot fixes it and the phone can finally deep sleep.
Are you guys still enjoying this ROM?
Thanks to oshmoun to this amazing ROM i use it every days and i prefer Android 6 for the xposed module
Fantastic rom! Finally got rid of all the crap Sony bloatware.
However two questions. The camera on the back can now only shoot 8MP photo's. I've disbled the 8MP option in the setting, but it still won't let me shoot 23MP photo's. Is there a way to fix this?
Also the fingerprint scanner doesn't seem to function. When trying to add a fingerprint, it immediately fails (registration cannot be completed). Any fix?

about the camera,you need to wipe camera data after toggling 23MP mode. You'll then see the 23MP resolution in settings.
about the fingerprints, thanks for the hint. This is a bug. Sometimes it works though, so you might get lucky if you try a lot.
also, it's cool to know people are using this rom lol
if you're interested, I can post custom HOMEMADE builds that contain some bugfixes.
Notice though that HOMEMADE builds are signed differently, and won't be compatible with OFFICIAL builds. That means you'll need a full wipe before flashing and booting.

ok cool. I'll post an updated HOMEMADE build.
Main bugfixes are:
1. camera doesn't randomly crash at start anymore.
2. bluetooth doesn't cause device to stay awake
3. bluetooth and fm can be used without rebooting the device inbetween (not concurrently though, using bluetooth when fm is on will disable fm for example)
EDIT: build is done, tested and all seems ok

Thanks for the new rom. I'm going to flash it asap and let you know how it works. Keep up the work!
Tried this out today and it works really well. I'll probably try it out as a daily this week, because the bugs seem quite minor at this stage. I'm surprised that this isn't getting more attention. Since the BT bug is fixed, I'm wondering if the same fix will work for CM13 as well?
@oshmoun Nice work! I'm not sure how OmniROM works, but what is stopping you from updating official with the same changes?

Hehe well I'm just doing the building. Awesome people from the Sony open devices project helped fix the bugs
Official updates for omni 6.0 only come in form of security updates, i.e when Google uploads a new revision. That's why i can't update official that simply. Although to be honest I haven't asked if there are exceptions
I've flashed the rom today and it is working very well. The fingerprint scanner now works fine, even from the settings.
Thanks!

Really? It still doesn't work here.
Maybe it's because you did a full wipe.
Can you try adding/removing fingerprints from settings multiple times please? If it works reliably, that'd be great

I flashed the Homemade version yesterday. I too am able to add fingers after initial setup in the settings. I tried to delete a finger in order to retry but the OS shuts down and reboots.
I believe I found a bug. Homemade version.
While listening to Audio, the whole phone locks up after what seems to be random times. I've listened to audio for a few minutes then it locks. I've listened up to around 45 minutes then locks up. Never more than an hour. If it helps, I've had this occur with Google Play Music, Poweramp, and Pocket Casts apps.
To resolve this, I have to hold power and volume up (Force shut down?)

yeah so it's still buggy I guess. I don't think i'll be able to fix that though, sadly. However, I can confirm that the issue doesn't appear on android nougat.

hmmmm, yes you are right. I was able to reproduce that. I think I know why that happens. I used another fix for mp3 playback. The solution that's used in OFFICIAL is different from HOMEMADE.
well, the good news is that android nougat requires neither lol.
Thank you for your time and the build. I've never seen OmniROM before today.
Today I've tried to add some more fingerprints. But now it fails.
I skipped the fingerprint registration during the initial installation and added 3 fingers later, but now it just fails every time.
I also encountered the audio playback issue while using Spotify today.
Hey oshmoun
I'm enjoying your Homemade!

Love this rom. Only First start was a little Trouble because it was in russian but Google helped me for Translation and i could get it to German. Very fast and stable Rom is my Fist impression
after trying this rom for half a day......notification delay(especially whatsapp),
wifi signal strenght is below average,
you cant hide notification shade in lock screen,
silent icon in audio side menu remains showing silent even
after silent is deactivated!!
battery is below average!!.
switching wireless display on turns bluetooth on as well!!(weird).
led sometimes doesnt blink with notification(although turned on in settings!!).
sound during pubg is improved.
coming from pixel experience 10 beta which has its own bugs......miui is a joke!!.

yes i always clean flash ,i disabled battery saver for whatsapp but notifications still rings after 2nd or 3rd message . 1st message takes 1-2 mins to ring!.
pixel experience 10 beta notifications are instant without even changing batt. optimization settings
too bad miui is loosing compared to pe.
Strange I don't have such issues. In my opinion MIUI is faster and more stable then pe also I had very often touch issues on pe and Evo. Even with newest firmware. So every one like he want to have. It's your choice what you are using.

i am having the opposite.....pe 10 beta (14/9/19) build is faster/smoother than this rom and it picks Lte signals in places where miui barely got unstable H+ and battery is much better.
Interesting, I'm on the last Mi9 port still - MIUI 11 but Android 9 - guess I'll try a clean flash and see how it goes!
There's one small problem: because the Mi8's notch is bigger than our phone, the software actually blackout a bit more on the statusbar than the official MIUI11. So if you're doing anything that is fullscreen, basically you're getting less screen real-estate. Not that it's useful for anything, just an observation

Thanks for this awesome rom.
Everything is working fine, battery backup is also quite good, getting around 6-7hrs SOT in normal usage (i dont play games, only COC). The best thing is only 3% standby drain in 9hrs.
Got 198k in antutu benchmark.
I don't know about heavy game performance (like PUBG, COD)
Is the port for Oxygen Is based on Android Q possible? Otherwise nice ROM, great work.

Vibration Strength very low with no way to increase?

Just upgraded from a Mi 9 Lite (and before that Redmi Note 5 Pro) to a Poco X3.
I am finding the vibration strength extremely weak, maybe 30% the strength of the previous phones. It is so weak that I do not notice it in my jeans pocket.
Anyone else having this problem? Thanks.
For me, it's actually quite the opposite. I was looking for ways to decrease the overall vibration intensity. There's an options menu in accessibility called "Vibration & haptic strength" but it only provides the option to turn vibrations off, not decrease nor increase its intensity.
I browsed around a bit trying to find a possible solution and it seems to have to do more with the kernel than anything for most phones. Not sure if there are any root solutions, but I couldn't really find anything immediately available. Hopefully someone else will have more insight to share on this topic than me.

I don't have this problem, but that's a personal preference. You have two solutions to your problem (kinda?):
1- You don't feel adventurous enough and wait for a custom kernel (when and if device sources are released) or i.e a custom ROM with this option.
2- You feel very adventurous and don't mind reflashing if something goes wrong, in that case, you can try editing vendor props with some experimenting. I have made a guide on how to edit props with magisk props config.
Regarding the editable props, I have pulled these from MIUI stock that are related to haptic feedback:
Code:
sys.haptic.motor=linear
sys.haptic.down.weak=0
sys.haptic.down.normal=2
sys.haptic.down.strong=5
sys.haptic.down=5,2
sys.haptic.tap.normal=3,2
sys.haptic.tap.light=5,2
sys.haptic.flick=5,2
sys.haptic.flick.light=5,2
sys.haptic.switch=9,2
sys.haptic.mesh.heavy=8,2
sys.haptic.mesh.normal=8,2
sys.haptic.mesh.light=8,1
sys.haptic.long.press=0,1
sys.haptic.popup.normal=6,2

sys.haptic.pickup=0,2
sys.haptic.scroll.edge=5,0
sys.haptic.trigger.drawer=2,0
sys.haptic.hold=6,0
sys.haptic.runin=13
You will have to figure out yourself what the parameters are, which does what and what works or not. Good luck

Thanks, I am aware that there are rooted solutions to this, unfortunately I am in the position where I cannot root or bootloader unlock the phone. Hopefully MIUI 13 will introduce vibration adjustment and solve the issue.

Hello, I faced the same problem with Mi10Tpro device - when updating from MIUI 12.0.1 to 12.5.2 the haptic feedback has become weak and less distinct. What I would like to do is to pull prop values from 12.0.1 and add them to 12.5.2 Could you please share the way of pulling current values? Thank you very much in advance.
Just upgraded from Redmi note 7 to Poco x4 pro 5g, vibration is hardly noticeable. Have tried all settings but believe it's a bug. Xiaomi needs to fix this urgently. Anybody know their support email?

CRDroid v316 GSI (Variant of AOSP-Phh-treble + CRDroid)

You're stuck on MIUI 12.5.4.0 and you cant flash a working custom recovery?
You're too lazy or too newbish to build your own?
Cant flash any Custom Rom?
Well you can just learn how to flash these TREBLE PHH Images, GSI-AOSP based images.
Here i show you how to flash CRDroid v316 . Its based on Android 11R
These images can be flashed with just fastbootd, and they work PERFECTLY, even better than many of the images i've tried here.
You wont have to face hardbricks ever again (specially when flashing MIUI), you can get rid of it once and for all, get rid of Xiaomi and all of its bloatware.
And you can always continue flashing these ROMS or other ROMS (If they're the same Android version or 1 version above). They have root by default most of them.
I made a guide showing how to flash this image.

Notes about tinkering with Android Project Treble. Contribute to phhusson/treble_experimentations development by creating an account on GitHub.
github.com
Supported Devices: Xiaomi Redmi 9A 9i 9AT 10A
To flash
Basically you just need:
Stock Recovery
Bootloader Unlocked
vbmeta.img (you can also use the one that comes with your MIUI IMAGE)
ADB/Fastboot
An " arm32_binder64 " image (Also called A64 image) that is compatible with your Android Version. (For example This image of CRDroid crdrom-v316-220330-a64-bvZ.img.xz is compatible for us, its the one being used in the tutorial).
Patience
What works?
Everything works, there are bugs in Display Brightness and Headphones
VOLTE (UNTESTED)
What doesn't Work?
In some images, of A10 - A13, for somer eason, RIL , the Radio Interface Layer is dead, so SIM doesn't work, we need to build Images or somehow work-around it, or try various images, to see which ones work.
So far RIL works perfectly, sim card works in eremitein Images, you will find a link to these images posted on the guide.,
RIL/SIM works in the the CRDroid image i used, it was built/published by eremitein.
All credits go to these people.
Fixes*Improve Wifi - Disable Wifi Power Saving
Important fix " In many Android 11 custom roms the Wifi in this phone becomes weaker, Less txpower, refresh 3 times max every 2 mins, has sometimes latency, range issues, this will improve it by 10-15%
Open Terminal Emulator
Turn your wifi on like a big man, use:
su
iw dev wlan0 set power_save off
(to check that your wifi powersaving has been turned off, use)
iw dev wlan0 get power_save
exit
exit
(To make this persistent between reboots, use an apk to launch scripts on boot)
*Improve Wlan0 TxPower
(In the future i will add how to change TxPower, lets be patient, im learning too, it seems possible though, i need it for pentesting, i discovered a way to use our precious monitor mode, but its my secret only, if someone teaches me how to improve txpower i will teach them to use monitor mode, we can trade)
*Fix headphone issues, if present, execute these lines on any Terminal Emulator then reboot.
su
setprop persist.sys.overlay.devinputjack true
*Fix brightness/display adjustment,
setprop persist.sys.qcom-brightness $(cat /sys/class/leds/lcd-backlight/max_brightness)
Please Report if the CRDroid Image works for you. And if you have the Time/Internet available feel free to download other Images from different developers and report if other Images work perfectly or not.
I for my part will stick to this rom for a looooong time, and wait until android 14-16 has released, maybe then i will meditate upon using another phone/rom (because it just works very well for me).
More information can be found here:

Well, was stuck on MIUI 12.5.3.0 global, did not wanna test my luck flashing custom recoveries so tried this, so far good, only bug for my is bluetooth can t transmit data, connects ok but no data or music, so i use headphones and everything is ok, ,RIL is ok, don t use volte, auto brightness bug is more or less livable, haven t tested the fix in terminal yet, SOT more than 5hours in a no game scenario, more than 48 hours of charge from 100% to 13%, phone charges as expected, feels very snappy, using a Gcamgo and almost as good as miui cam, excellent work to eremitein.
