put this .dll in the common folder, let's see if it happened by chance. https://mega.nz/#!qV9WzQSQ!Z0Zkpm-m3LJ01tLthzfE9puNmYlbsOoZR5N-f2VS_mw extract and rename LGUP_common.dll

Thanks for the reply. From all my problem descriptions, and with picture of the phone still turning on to download mode...
I installed,
LGUP_Install_Ver_1_14_3
LGMobileDriver_WHQL_Ver_4.4.2
LGBridge_Setup
UPPERCUT_1.0.0.0
...and despite changing to different usb c, the phone is not any visible to pc nor lgup or device manager.

The main problem i'm facing now are the errors on download mode.

if it works, install the latest version of android 8 for your model with lgup not with uppercut, run the lgup exe.

I already placed the common dll for f800k prior to flashing oreo which is the same file and oreo kdz i used to update from nougat.
still, pc isn't making any sound of connection of phone been connected
Also the LGflashtool from the second link i already tried earlier. COM41 is not recognised since the phone doesnt communicate with the ports, so not visible to Device manager

If you remove the battery and put it back, is the phone still the same? The cell phone cannot be turned on, so it is a brick. I will go looking for possible solutions, and consider the possibility of using another PC or try to install updates for your PC if it is not already installed.

When i remove and reinsert and then using the vol- & power button combo the phone is still entering download mode with the Unknown / E / L / RO error

Maybe i'll try another pc and give back reply soonest Thanks

I think I have a similar problem that I solved. I wanted to try to flash the root on 9 android, but it didn’t work, the smartphone stopped showing in download mode and in the device manager, but it was detected in fastboot mode. I'm not sure that I showed the same errors, since the stripes on the screen did not allow me to examine the text. Flash recovery https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410932744536982447 through fastboot mode, and in recovery-> format data, flash firmware in zip format from 995 https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/development/vs995-verizon-lg-v20-stock-oreo-rooted-t3845669. After that, the smartphone was detected in download mode and I reflashed it. (I have f800l)

I guess i'm quiet unlucky now in my own case because i am not rooted and no fastboot stuff.
I'm only able to get to Factory Reset menu using the VOL- and POWER BUTTON and releasing the power button and press again POWER BUTTON once lg logo appears.
Also I'm able to get to a SELECT MENU that contains MA-USB(WIFI) DL, POWER OFF, PHONE INFO, BACK by tapping the VOL- or POWER BUTTON like 6 to 7 times repeatedly while in download mode.
Neither of those helping the situation

yet the value of B kept on decreasing now on B59. May that is for the battery? Unknown BATTERY59

If you did something like install custom recovery on your lg optimus one and failed, you would get a black screen saying..
fastboot mode started
udc_start()
If this happens...
Relax.. Your phone is not bricked.. There are many ways to fix it... This method of unbricking should be done as a last resort because it erases all your data...
Charge your phone before proceeding even if the backlight is always on while charging..
Things required:
Kdz updater:
Stock ROM:
Required- 1. USB cable 2. Windows PC with administrator account 3. LG united mobile drivers
1. First Go to My Computer> Right Click & go To properties> Thern Go To Device Manager & disable all LGE modems under modems from Windows device manager in the Control Panel.
2. Make sure you have LG united mobile drivers installed & you have restarted Computer once after installation of drivers.
3. No the trick is here…. press and hold both the back (return) button and the volume up button and simultaneously connect the USB cable.
The phone should light up and say Emergency mode!! in a green background.. If it goes to Emergency mode, it can be fixed... If it doesn't I'm sorry, search for an other forum or give it to the LG service center...
4. Now decompress the KDZ file you downloaded using WinZip, WinRar etc., install msxml.msi from the uncompressed directory and runKDZ_FW_UPD.exe (With administrator rights by right clicking and selecting run as administrator).
In the dialog box, select Type : 3GQCT and PhoneMode: DIAG, select the kdz file and flash the stock ROM... It would take about 15 minutes.. If the kdz updater crashes, change compatibility mode or restart the computer and phone or do something till it works (Retry retry retry)...
For most of you it would probably say PHONE WAS NOT FOUND!.... If so, then follow all the steps said above, again retry for endless times or restart the computer or check if any modem drivers are active or try it in an another computer...

I need help with my lg g stylo. I was using one click root Kingo root and when it was 66% done it was rebooting my phone into firmware download and my computer running Windows 10 froze to where I had to hard reset it, and my phone froze on firmware update. Now my phone is stuck in a bootloop on the LG life's good screen, I've tried hard resetting it ( with the volume down and power button combo) the Android guy pops up for one millisecond and disappears going back to the LG screen not doing anything the only other the only other thing I can do is go into downloading mode( while connected to a computer hold the volume button up) but when I do that my computer does not recognize my phone saying code 10 device cannot start up I have called LG they refused to help me get into recovery mode I have called Google Android support they don't know how to help I have also called windows trying to see if it was my computer's fault and they decided it wasn't I am kind of out of options I'm hoping someone knows how to help me I'll appreciate any help I can get thank you.

To get into download mode you need make sure phone is 100% powered off then hold the volume up button and then plug in the usb cable. Dont release the power up button until the phone is fully in download mode not just the first screen. Also search for your phones adb drivers and install them to your pc not just the usb drivers. Make sure to uninstall any existing drivers first.

Did you try another pc with the adb drivers installed to see if you get the same error? If it connects on a different pc try this on the problem pc.
Open task manager
Click on the Hardware tab
Click the Device Manager button.
Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers section.
Right-click every device under the Universal Serial Bus controllers node, and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.
Restart the computer, and allow the computer to reinstall the USB controllers.
Plug in the your phone in download mode and test to to see if the issue is resolved.
You can also download Ccleaner and fix any registry errors for free. I've used it for years and it works really well.
Still no joy. Try a system restore on your pc sounds like the device management could be screwed up.
All kinds of funky sh*t can happens when a pc crashes. You said you have windows 10 as a last resort you can do a system refresh which reinstalls the os but keeps your files.

Everything you need can be found here in the LG G Stylo forums and if it's not here a google search will help.
You need...
MetroPCS 5.1.1 KDZ
LG drivers
LG Flash Tool
Download the KDZ. Install the LG drivers while you wait for the 1.2GB KDZ to be downloaded. Download the LG Flash Tool and when the KDZ has completed downloading run it as an administrator. Settings in Flash Tool should be fine. Point to the KDZ and begin the flash. Normal or CSE. Normal does not wipe data, CSE wipes all user data. You'll be prompted with something about your internet connection. Do not close this, the tool should be flashing the KDZ. Wait for the phone to be rebooted after flashing. Profit.

I had the same problem once the device connected as download mode.
The kdz tool doesn't detected and crashed all the times. But miracle happens I kept playing(open&close)the kdz tool app. Somehow it detected and flash the kdz.
Android Studio was a bust still unable to find my device even with the code to direct information to the only USB device connected

I was under the impression that the phone was entering dl mode but just not getting recognized by the pc. Either or you should bring it to a corporate store and tell them it boot looped while updating and play dumb. They should replace it since its under warranty. Or call lg and do it that way although its about a ten day wait.

[ROM][GUIDE] LG Optimus Zone 3 (LG VS425PP) Stock 5.1.1 Firmware & Restoration

LG OPTIMUS ZONE 3 - UNBRICKING GUIDE AND 5.1.1 FACTORY FIRMWARE
This guide has two main objectives: (1) for those with a bricked device who want to restore to the latest factory firmware image; and (2) those who need .kdz Stock 5.1.1 Factory Firmware files.
1. UNBRICKING THE LGVS425PP:
The Verizon LGVS425PP comes, pre-installed on the device, a Windows compatible LG Software Upgrade and Repair utility. When connected via micro USB cable, your device will connect to your PC as an installer and, if you look in your PC directory, you will see an installation directory for the Verizon LG utility. Inside that directory is an .exe file that will install the upgrade/repair utility on your PC. When launched, the utility will auto detect your device, determine if a firmware update is available, and give you an option to repair your device. The repair option will backup your existing userdata (depending on the level of damage to the firmware), download the most recent firmware build for your device, and flash your device to complete stock condition.
Of course, there are those who bricked their devices before being able to install the Verizon LG Upgrade/Repair utility on their PCs. And this utility appears difficult to locate for download on the internet. So, below is a download link for the utility:
DOWNLOAD LINK
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B1Sfod4HWfk2elpGQ3JEbzF4Q0E?usp=sharing
The Verizon LG utility should install the correct USB mobile drivers on your PC. But just in case any driver issues arise, download and install the following LG United Mobile Driver package:
DOWNLOAD LINK
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1Sfod4HWfk2RHY2c29mTWg1Rkk/view?usp=sharing
Once the utility is launched, make sure your PC is connected to the internet, put your device in download mode by holding +Volume while connecting your micro USB cable for your PC connection. The utility will then detect your device. Select the REPAIR option and follow the on-screen instructions.
2. STOCK 5.1.1 FACTORY FIRMWARE
The following link is for four software versions of stock 5.1.1 Factory Firmware .kdz files for the Optimus Zone 3: VS425PP2, VS425PP4, VS425PP7 & VS425PP8. Also in the link is the LG United Mobile Driver, the LG-UP flashing tool, and the LG-UP .DLL for the VS425PP. Use these tools at your own risk. I am not responsible for bricked or inoperable devices. I want to thank each and every member in this thread who has tested and reported their findings and issues. That narrows it down greatly. And thanks guys for your patience.
As to rooting the Zone 3, several recent advancements have been achieved and full root access is now possible. Thanks to @Astr4y4L, a comprehensive root package is available for download. http://astrayalslanding.dynu.net:88/Android_Development/ Click on this link and scroll down the the bottom and click the projects link. His package includes precise instructions and alI the files you will need to root this phone. I am currently drafting a concise tutorial for downgrading this phone. Instructions for downgrading can be found within this thread, albeit somewhat scattered. I will update the OP accordingly as further progress is made. Guys, please be sure to thank @Astr4y4L for his unceasing hard work and development on this device. If you like his work and benefit from it, donations are always nice, even if just a couple bucks.

I was attempting to test this on a phone i purchased just yesterday. The about phone section identifies this phone as a vs425pp but under the battery it's identified as a VS425LPP.
The drivers install successfully. The LGUP and LGUP .dll install fine. But when i start LGUP i get an error saying that it can't load the model. looks like i can't attach a picture probably because i'm new but i do have screencaps. I've tried it on my laptop where i do most of my android stuff and on my desktop, same problem on both. According to the LG Mobile Support Tool this one has VS245PP5 installed.
LGUP will start without the phone connected telling me there is no compatible handset attached and then show me a com window. But when i connect the phone it throws the same error and exits.
I must be the biggest idiot, because I cannot figure out how to get into download mode - I power off the device, then while holding the power and volume up key I plug in the usb cord from the Computer. I get the buzzing on the phone, the Verizon logo comes up, and i'm on the home screen. What am I doing wrong?
---------- Post added at 12:55 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:51 AM ----------
never mind, I got it - it's the volume down and power, not volume up -

ok, apparently, that's the restore function, not the download mode - I can't seem to figure out the combo of buttons for the download mode - as above, I go volume up and power then when it vibrates I plug it in?? any suggestions??

With your device connected go to Device Manager. Look under Portable Devices, Ports and Com's, etc and look for LGE notations of your device. If you see a yellow question mark by any of the LGE notations, your issue is drivers.

Ok I have seen that MTP Device error before. It is not uncommon. Search the forums for a driver resolution. Off top of my head I cannot recall, but I do know there are threads on it.

The initial solution was to reinstall the drivers, did not work.
Second solution discovered in reference to samsung devices was to delete a registry key called UpperFilters from the WPD section. Did not work.
The third solution i've found involves downloading the Android SDK and installing it.
This last one seems sort of like a nuclear option. But i'm running out of ideas. the MTP and PTP transfer modes install and start correctly when the device is booted normally but when booted into download mode it just goes code 10. I'm working on the third option now but it will take a while to download.

The initial solution was to reinstall the drivers, did not work.
Second solution discovered in reference to samsung devices was to delete a registry key called UpperFilters from the WPD section. Did not work.

Yes that SDK is a bulk of a download and installation. But may be your fix. Very odd I agree

It didn't work. Still code 10. I tried on a third computer, an old Dell laptop running Windows XP. It gave a strange error Code 28 saying something about an invalid service section of the INF. But i think this may be a red herring and actually be caused by Windows Media Player 11 not being installed. I'll have to setup an installation of Windows 7 to try that.
Edit: looks like i'm going to have to give up trying to fix the code 10 error because NONE of the information from google is relevant to this. All the information is for the phone being started normally and being unable to access the MTP file transfer through normal working operation. None of it relates to this "download mode" that LG has implemented. I wish this were easy like my Galaxy Nexus was back in the day.

Yeah tell me about it. The good ol' Nexus days were much simpler. I'm like you....I think its a Red Herring of some sort you are dealing with. Something so obvious and so simple that it is hiding behind a thin wall.
I'm searching right now trying to help too.
Hi MotoJunkie01,
I appreciate you putting together this guide but I have to say that I no further along than everyone else here. Similar to Metalchic I received the "can't load model" error from LGUP. Googling around i found that I was missing the LGUP_common.dll file. Found that and LGUP opened fine and found my device. Tried to flash VS425PP2 kdz got to about 9% and received "Secure device, But Unsecure image" error. And that's as far as i got.
As far as the LG Android MTP driver goes i also receive the code 10 cannot start error but only when the phone is in download mode. Otherwise the driver loads fine when the phone is "booted". I dont know jack about rooting phones and have never done it before. I had this one lying around and thought I'd try it. Hopefully all this helps to narrow down the issue.

Thanks for pointing out the common .dll file. I will edit that in my thread for download. I am not sure on the MTP error. I have two of these Zone 3s lying around and neither gives any type of error on MTP. Almost certainly sounds like a driver related issue though. Im going to uninstall drivers and everything on my end, do factory resets, and reinstall everything and walk back through the process from scratch. See if I can pinpoint the issue.

like roscoemctavish i was able to grab the LGUP_common.dll file and put it into ..\LG Electronics\LGUP\model\common and then LGUP started detecting my phone. It only takes the kdz file type under the Upgrade selection. But like roscoemctavish i ran into the 'unsecured image secured device' error. Still code 10 on the MTP driver but i don't think it's related to this. Maybe though.

So in your instance, did the .kdz file flash for you with no issue or did it stop at some point?

OK. So both you guys having the stop at 9% please try this. Rename the VS425PP2 file to the filename VS425PP6. Then flash the .kdz.
For now I'm editing the thread down to unbricking via the Verizon LG utility and I'll give links to the .kdz files. It's back to the drawing board guys. I'm very sorry. Please know that I am working hard on it.

No worries man and I appreciate just having this as a potential option. If it matters I have tried to root my phone with Kingoroot. Of course it fails but the software status has changed to "modified". Current software version is VS425PP5.
I did try changing the filename "VS425PP2_02_ARB00.kdz" to "VS425PP6.kdz" and flashing with the same result (Stops at 9% with unsecure image error). There is a log file in the "\LGUP\model\common\LOG" folder which when opened in notepad produces unreadable text. Let me know if I can provide anything else.
Thanks!

[Guide] Unbrick Your UNLOCKED Lenovo P2a42

Hey Friends,
You must have seen very good days with Lenovo P2 but when there comes a bad day when your phone stops responding to button holds and restarts. You may or may not have a clue what to do to get your phone working again just like before.
I got into this situation where only thing my phone was able to operate was a RED LED on connecting it to my laptop. Then I had to read tens of pages on XDA to find answers to all my questions. If you are in such a situation and your phone is UNLOCKED then you have come to the right place. Procedure is quite simple but remember, I am writing this guide to define complete process from blackout to complete update so follow this guide as per your needs.
I faced this situation of Total Blackout / Dead Phone (Almost) with only Red LED working and it can be very scary. So, here is the simplest procedure you can follow. I want to appreciate all those people who helped me in finding a way to boot my phone with each and everything working. Long story short, let's get this done.
Tools Required:
I am mentioning here all the Tools you will need. I will urge you to download and save these tools in case you want to unbrick your phone any time:
1. Minimal ADB and Fastboot setup for PC
2. Lenovo USB drivers v1.1.33
3. Qualcomm USB Drivers
4. Qualcomm Flash Image Loader (QFIL) v2.0.1.9 for your PC in case you have corrupted your phone's IMEI and/ or Baseband
5. Blankflash.bat in case you want to recover from total blackout (Attached)
6. Stock MM S048 Firmware for Lenovo P2 in case phone doesn't boot
7. S048_ModemTelephony.zip in case your phone boots through Stock MM S048 but SIM isn't detected and IMEI is missing. I have made a complete modem zip file for installation through recovery.
8. S251_ModemTelephony.zip in case your phone is on latest firmware and doesn't detect SIM and has lost IMEI. I have made a complete modem zip file for installation through recovery.
9. QCN file for recovering baseband version and giving you most precious network signals. (Attached)
10. WinRAR or PeaZip for uncompressing files
I will recommend you to have a specific folder for keeping all these tools in a single place.
Procedure for Unbricking:
Before going with the procedure, make sure you have downloaded all the files you need, updated Lenovo and Qualcomm drivers etc. Here is the procedure:
1. If total blackout with red LED notification when connecting to PC: Unzip blankflash.zip to a folder in C drive. Now connect your P2 to PC through USB, press volume+, volume- and power button simultaneously and double click blankflash.bat. You might have no success in your first try. Just keep trying and it will load your phone to Fastboot. Restart your phone in TWRP if installed and install a working ROM for your phone after doing a wipe. If all is good and phone works OK then great but if you have lost IMEI and baseband then it is better to reinstate your phone through first MM stock ROM S048
2. Install S048 firmware through Minimal ADB and Fastboot - use flash instructions in .txt file.
3. Wait for startup of phone. Check if fingerprint, BT, WIFI and SIM work if all work then OK.
4. If fingerprint, BT, WIFI and SIM are not working then check IMEI through dialer. Dial *#06#. If IMEI is not available then install latest TWRP through Fastboot.
5. Start P2 in TWRP recovery and install S048_ModemTelephony.zip. Restart phone to see if WIFI and SIM work.
6. If SIM is detected but not giving signals and Baseband is shown as unknown then extract 000000_0.qcn file given in .7z and restore through QFIL and restart your phone into Fastboot.
7. Now, install stock recovery of S048 firmware through Fastboot and restart your phone.
8. Use your phone like you normally do and update your P2 till firmware S251 and see if everything works including calls. Update your phone through OTA.
9. After OTA installation, stock recovery may say that update failed. Just press Back, go into Wipe user data menu and Wipe Cache only. Restart your phone which will be updated to latest version and will ask you to update to a newer version. Allow it to download the next update.
10. After installation of S251 update, install latest TWRP through Fastboot and install most recent version of LOS 16 so that your vendor partition is stable and free from any bloated files. Now, use your phone just like you want to.
If you need further clarification then ask in this thread.

You should download S048 and use flashall.bat inside that archive to install it all. However, if you lose IMEI or baseband then you can use modem and qcn files given in this thread.

If red light blinks, your phone can be detected by your laptop. Check ports in device manager settings and you'll see a new port with Qualcomm 9800 series number. If that's there, try blankflash to start in fastboot. It might need some tries before startup. Be patient and keep trying till you are in fastboot.

Press Volume+, Volume- and Power simultaneously and double click flashblank.bat. It might take some tries to finally install the scripts and start phone in fastboot. It took me 20+ tries to finally detect my phone through blankflash. Please, read OP completely.

No. Keep USB connected. Try blankflash. If it doesn't detect phone or go ahead. Close command terminal, double click again and keep doing it till it processes the files. If it is stuck somewhere. Close terminal and try again.

I think you might have damaged some hardware. But anyway if you want to use blankflash, I have a method.
In lenovo p2 we have another mode called QDloader mode, in which we can use blankflash. For entering into this mode, it's little tricky but, can enter in one or two go.
So, here's how:
1. Switch off the mobile.
2. Press the volume up key,
3. While holding the volume up key, insert the usb cable and at the same time press the power button (this is the trick, we have to insert and hit at the same time).
And voila! :highfive: you will see black screen with only red notification led blinking.
we are into QDloader mode. Now use blankflash :good:
