However I was quoted ~50€ including shipping to get it replaced by OnePlus so I'll go for that route.

To be honest I would send it into one of their repair centers. it only cost me like $75 to get the glass back on my McLaren 6T replaced, and they sent me a free 5 foot cable and wall plug too. Took less than 7 days from when I sent it to when I got it back

Where to get glass replaced?

Phone fell out of my pocket while sitting in a patio chair, maybe 12" off the ground...landed on concrete and yeah, I'm doubting this is gorilla glass. Anyhow, anyone know where to get it fixed?

is it too early to have those retail parts...on the market...
contact htc or carrier, see if they have any repairmen plan
I've only heard of one website so far that is able to replace the LCD and digitizer for the HTC One X so far, and they charge $250 to do so... I agree with beaups, just use a spare phone right now for a month or so until they get the needed parts in the "market" if you don't want to send it back to HTC or your carrier
Gotta be within the first 30 days...try to add some insurance?
Not the most ethical thing and I don't condone it, just providing another possible option.
Thanks guys. Just got a ticket opened with HTC and will see what they charge me. Sold off all my old phones a couple days ago except for my iPhone 4, so I'll switch back to that in the meantime. That screen is gonna seem soooooo small.

The phone is gorilla glass 2 but it is also like the iPhone 4 in that it exposes the edges to impact and hardened glass shatters very easy when you hit an edge.

^it fell exactly face down. Pretty flush. And I'm not kidding about the distance it fell. No biggie, it's just a phone.

Replacement Screens

Hello,
I dropped my Nexus 4 and caused damage to the screen. There is a crack in the glass on the bottom half which causes touch not to work, but the top half is fully functional. Do I need to purchase a new screen and digitizer or just the screen?
I'm from Canada, so where is the best place to buy parts online?
Thanks

I´d try ebay. I´m sure one of those hongkong based merchants offers spare displays.
good luck!
Edit:
I think it´s a bit expensive, but its from canada so you might find it interesting:

But, do I need the digitizer or just the glass? If the top half still functions, does that means I only need glass?
Thanks.

As I know since the touch doesn't work on bottom then you need digitizer.

The Top Glass is the Digitizer. You will need the LCD+Digitizer set. DO NOT order just the Digitizer glass. It is for Expert Techs ONLY. The Glass and LCD are fused together and requires very careful disassembly. I highly recommend getting the 3 piece Digitizer+LCD+Frame set as that is a quick swap of the Parts that takes about 15Min total. The Glass is glued with an RTV Silicon Adhesive type on the frame (They use the RTV adhesive on the Back cover glass too) and is annoying to remove as Heat doesn't work as well as the normal adhesive most companies use. Plus there is a chance you could scratch up the frame trying to remove the glass shards (and there WILL be shards.) I have done this replacement before on both the Front and Back Glass and it wasn't fun. Just save yourself the frustration and get the 3 piece set. You'll thank me for it.
I too have a cracked screen, touch does not work but the display is working I am from India plz help me what should I do

Nexus 4 of course.
Again I highly reccomend getting the 3 piece with the Frame+LCD+Glass a 1 unit. You can sell the broken one on Ebay and get a few $ back that way. The swap out from that point is VERY easy and Quick. Youtube it or go to http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Nexus+4+Teardown/11781/1
All you are doing is a swap of the MB, USB Port, Cameras, Battery and the Switches. It is really easy and quick and requires very little skill. If you DO NOT get the 3 piece set and just the Glass+LCD then it's more difficult.
AGAIN! ANYONE who needs to replace the glass just get the 3 piece set. Follow the Dissassembly Guide (only need 2 tools a PLASTIC Pry tool and a #00 Phillips Screwdriver) I posted above. I know this is just me repeating my previous post above but I just wanted to stress this as there are sales out that sell JUST the Glass and getting just the glass will be a waste of money. There is also the Glass + LCD set but again 99.999999999% of people have neither the skill and/or the tools to separate the Broken glass from the Frame let alone the LCD itself. The glass has a Silicon Adhesive which resists heat (if you've worked on cars you know how fun RTV is, imagine it on Delicate electronics) and makes it hard to remove.

If that's for the 3 Piece set, that's a great price really. That used to be the On Sale Price for the 2 Piece set. So looks like prices are finally starting to come down.

Hello!
First, sorry to open such an old thread, but I just try to follow XDA rules. And this one match most for what I'm looking for.
On my wifes Nexus 4, after she dropped it, touch screen stop to responce at about 1 cm wide stripe from bottom to top. Everything else is ok, glass is not broken. I'm asking if there is also necessary to find 3 piece set or I could manage to fix it with this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LCD-Display...317?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e9850f8ed

That part doesn't include the bezel. When you disassemble the phone, the entire front assembly includes the bezel and screen assembly. With that part, you would have to remove the screen assembly from the original bezel, then adhere the new one in. It's doabable, but a bit of a PITA, especially if you don't have a heat gun to soften the original glue. For about $60 you can get the entire front, including the bezel (brand new, without dings in the chrome) and save yourself a huge hassle.

Thank you on your answer. I've looking for 3 piece replacement, but I didn't find any cheaper then for around 90 EUR. Maybe I don't know what to search, because I don't know what the bezel is.

LG Screen Repair

So on day 4 of using my Nexus 5 I cracked the screen pretty badly. It was sitting on the edge of my dining room table and I hit it up into the air. It did one rotation and landed on a plate. I'd say the total fall couldn't have been more then 5 or 6 inches... The screen was totally smashed. :crying:
Anyway I've just sent it into LG for repair. The return process was pretty smooth but the CS Rep would not give me a quote or any idea what the replacement cost would be. I should hear from them in a few business days with a price. Anyone in the same boat?

Did you have a case/ a screen protector on? I'm sorry to hear that.
According to iFixit "The glass and LCD are fused to the display frame. Fixing broken glass will be either expensive or very difficult."
Might as well just invest in another one or another phone.

No case. Although I never had one on my Nexus 4 or Galaxy Nexus and they got through some drops ok. I think the difference here is the edge to edge glass. Even a small hit on the edge will crack the screen. Trust me there will be a case on it if I ever get it back.
I am guessing that it will be at least $150 based on iFixit and some quotes I've seen from the Nexus 4 thread. I'll update everyone when I get a price.
Pay with a credit card? Unless you have a poverty card, there is a good chance your card will have 90 day purchase protection and will cover the cost of the replacement.
Well I just got a notification that fedex delivered my phone to LG Repair facility. Now just waiting for a phone call.
Has anyone else received a quote on a screen replacement yet?

Hello, I m realy wondering how LG can repair your screen without giving you any kind of pre invoice???
I can anderstand that like dead HDs, they can't say how it would cost before examine it but then they must call you back to ask you if you accept the price!
Unless they have done it for free....

Yes my understanding is that they will call me first with a price before repairing it. If I accept they will fix it. If not they will send it back.
I really don't have any choice tho really. If its anything less then the 350 I paid for it Ill probably get it fixed. Other then the cracked screen its a brand new phone.
Well I got the quote from LG. It's $146 dollars to repair the screen. Not too bad I guess.

I've disassembled the broken one from the frame and just need the lcd+touch+bezel "glued" set.

there are lots on ebay for 40 to 50$... get one of those. follow youtube videos and enjoy...

LG won't sell spare parts
@shri_chanakya
Issue on ebay is most claim to be original LCD+digitizer set, but aren't, ending up being of lower quality...
So I was looking for a reliable source.

Actually I took a good look at their product and it seems OEM and not Original.
Ended up ordering from here:
When it comes to parts I always get them off Amazon. I go by reviews and price comparison. If it's cheap it's fake, IMO. I've had a back and battery, both genuine and very happy with them, bought this way, but no screen, thank God. They have them

Cracked Rear Glass, Repairable?

Hey guys,
After a year and a half of no case on my U11, with it safely in my pocket, I bumped into the couch and the back glass cracked.
Any ideas whether this is repairable, or if they will just replace it (sprint)? Just want to know for backup purposes.
Is it safe to assume that she is no longer waterproof?
Sent from my 2PZC5 using Tapatalk
It is repairable but to find the back case is going to be hard and if you do find one it will be expensive. I've seen a YouTube video that shows a U11 tear down. Good luck.
Thanks man. I am wondering more whether Sprint is likely to repair or replace. I have insurance on it, and it's a lease, so I don't plan to self repair.

I remember HTC had a pretty good warranty a few years back and they would repair broken screens but that stopped because it was just a losing deal for HTC. I tried using Asurion to replace my U11 when I thought it was bricked but they would have sent me a Google Pixel 2 as replacement after I paid the $175 deductible.
Google witrig . it is a china store that sells OEM parts and ship internationally.
I fixed my u11 in under an hour. Getting the part on eBay is what I did, I have the solar red and was able to find parts quite quickly and replace and reseal the new screen and back glass in under an hour. I repaired mobile devices for over 3 years and I will say this HTC is not that bad compared to the HTC 10 to fix especially if you're just putting new glass on the back. Just use good water proof adhesive and red tape ( Amazon or eBay has all of it ) also look at ifixit they have lots of videos, the back glass is just like a Samsung device. Cut it off. Seal down a new one
2 post above are good leads!
2 things to add =>
1. Order from China= patients for packet arrival (CAN take up to 2 month's, so 2 month's of shaming with broken cover)
2. Patients and staddy hands when replacing the cover. I spend 20 euro on a guy at the local mobile shop who has both skills.
Kind regards,
GloBuS
