System Settings Update?
I got this notice too today.
I update, it rebooted after I clicked on it. Normal boot, no update during boot, boot complete, it says system settings updated...
But I don't know what's changed? Also on the P20 Pro?
?

Maybe they are preparing for harmony os dual boot or something?

Did notice something saying that feature advisor is running

I received the same thing and I couldn't find any information regarding the update. Was thinking something is not right and not the usual update process we are used to.
Hopefully someone fingers it out.

I also got this push notification for system settings, wasn't a normal update. My device a Huawei nova 3i.
Edit: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=80680997&postcount=2

Honor 10 also received this system setting update.

Some news? I also received the update but I didn't notice any restart in recovery or changelog. Perhaps they have resolved the excessive consumption of the battery due to the system IU process.

The same with me today mate 20 pro

I noticed this update at the morning. I assumed it's related to daylight saving time. For example Israel moved the clock 1 hour back yesterday night.

updated but no clue.

Got the update too. It's a timezone fix

Which theme are you using nice one

is this safe to install!!?

Just got checked and found this update in setting, but there is no change log info for this update kinda worry to install. Any suggestions would be helpful for me, thnx. Current running H8 frd-L09 B386 (no rooted).
it would mostly be only security patch unless there was some major bugs highlighted and been fixed. mostly April patch only.
i would say stay there because i have installed the later updates (almost 3 after that version) and they are crap bs, made my phone laggy and ram cant hold out games in background for long and also my phone is heating up.

Is 5.1.6 update pulled-up from server due to some issue?

Many users including me got the system update notification. I didn't updated it then. Now the notification is not there any more and system update says you're phone is up to date with 5.1.5.
Is it true that 5.1.6 is not available anymore?

Hmmmm... I am on 5.1.6. maybe there is an update to 5.1.7. with June '18 security patch incomming?
To be honest, I am very satisfied with 5.1.6.
They're going to push an update with the bootloader bypass fix included.
yeah i hope this does not cause issues, for us that have twrp and rooted, get ur backups ready, we may have to format data

Same here I didn`t make the update and update notification has gone
Chat showing the reason for the pulled update.
Looks like there was a "freeze issue," and a hotfix will be rolling out shortly.
Had it a few days now, no issues here.
Afraid to jinx myself but I have no issues on 5.1.6 rooted with TWRP installed since Saturday.
oos.5.1.6, have no issue so far, root, twrp, exposed, custom kernel.
I have no issues at all.
But some people on OP forums are going nuts about it. But to be fair, I have seen at least hundreds of different bugs that I don't have. Have no idea what those guys are doing with their phones.
Actually I have only noticed one small problem, the keyboard remains under the notification shade when trying to respond to an SMS. That's it. No big deal.

New update, what is it's nature?

I just got a notification about an update to be installed. It downloaded while sleeping, tried to see what build or see the info but nothing on it in the software update app.... After restarting the phone to get it installed, I checked software update and there is no info on it too!
In the updating process, the device booted up without entering recovery, I wonder if this a real update or just a fake message from huawei?

It would be helpful if you declared your full name Build name/number from Settings/About, patches and updates depend on what you have
It's not a fake update but if not a firmware update (no more new ones for Mate 9), it might be some patch (your screenshot says System Settings), usually it adds/updates Patch0X to the Build number

If you previously⁵ had all the same but ending with Patch02 then you just received Patch03.
You can search here, it was commented about Patch02 and Pstch03.
Months ago, I don't recall, only small patches with no further info than what you had in the notification
I don't actually remember that, sad it wasn't a big deal...
Thank you tho.
After the update only way to activate the control toggles is via fingerprint swipe down. Can't swipe from the screen anymore.
Hello,
I also got an update..but it's patch05 my current version is 9.1.0.252(C432E7R1P8patch05)
The contents of log screen is
" Cette mise à jour améliore la compatibilité du système avec certaines applications tierces" (I'm in France)
"This update improves system compatibility with certain third-party applications" (Google translate)
I notice no change or trouble with this update

Tonight I also got System Settings update by OTA.
I had b252 Patch03 before this update, and it remained after the update (patch number was not incremented)
Same for me as the OP stated...

OTA for Global version

Hello everyone! Poco f2 pro global version owners, have you all received the 12.0.4 update?
I have a problem with my Poco F2 Pro, Global version (MI). Everyone I know has received the Miui 12.0.4, and I haven't got it yet. I'm starting to think the debloat procedure (wich I found here) has something to do with this problem. I used a java program to uninstall some application, and I used adb tools to disable android traceur and to optimize all the apps after the 12.0.3 update. I also disabled some apps, and everything I did was safe, as confirmed by other people. I'm writing here because I don't know anyone with the same problem, and would be happy to discuss about it and find a solution.
Just download update from Xiaomi firmware update website and then paste into your phone, then go to phone update settings then update using this file

How do I update using that file? I downloaded it, but don't know how to proceed. In the settings it still says there are no new updates

I have the global version, and I'm still on 12.0.3. It even shows "what's new" message instead of "no update available" when I refresh. It has been like that since the day I upgraded to 12.0.3. I haven't messed with the ROM at all.
They did push the update 12.0.4 at first, my battery was low so i stopped the update at around 70% in night and went to sleep. Next day , when i checked , the update was gone and haven't received the update again till now.

Better RAM managing, some little camera fixes (it's better now) and other minor changes, I don't think there is too much difference between 12.0.4 and 12.0.2
I am on global version...in europe...12.0.2 and no new updates

I have received an OTA updates this morning 12.0.3.0.QJKEUXM (security patch for september 2020 and miui photo app).
I'm on 12.0.2.0.QJKEUXM Global EEA ROM.
I have not yet do the update because i'm scared to lose root (magisk 20.4).

did you take the update when you had twrp? I thought we needed to go back to stock recovery before applying OTA.

Question Android 12 update

Anyone that already got the update can comment any improvements or problems you are experiencing?
I have big battery drain with Android 12
My experience with Xperia phones is that there is often a period of increased battery drain the weeks after an Android version upgrade. Sometimes, I needed a factory reset to make it go away. But, I didn't have to do that when my 5 II went from Android 10 to 11.

Nope. And after the 12 update, phone doesn't get warm when charging
Any advice to get the update on the states?
I'm super curious how to get the update, OTA has nothing and the xperia app tells me I'm updated, but I'm still on Android 11 and https://xpericheck.com/XQ-BC52/23119804 tells me it's been out for weeks. I'm in Denmark so I'm guessing it's the right package in the URL.
Feel like a noob asking but it's super weird if they stagger it so long I think

True that. Also have the XQ-BC52, and I got the update via OTA about two weeks ago, I'm from Sweden. Really nice update since it seems like all the "heating issues" is gone now Now this phone is pure pleasure!

i'm afraid you are forced to flash your update via Newflasher. Probably you got my same problem (but with 5 II): your device don't receive OTA updates at all? If is this the case, then yes, you have to update it manually. Sorry.

Hi and thanks, my 5III did get two security updates so it's able to get OTA.
Interestingly enough the xperia companion also is stuck on Android 11 it seems telling me there is no new update...mmmm I'll wait a bit before trying to flash the official version manually

I made repair fon and get A12 from xperia companion. But its like a factory reset!
so I waited until the OTA update after Android 12 and that brought my 5 III up to 12 and on that OTA version so that was easier
Cheers guys !!
No issues with Android 12. Battery seems a little better. New UI is meh. Not a big upgrade, but not bad.
