Gmail from latest froyo update apk? Or, how to make a titanium backup work?

Could someone upload a copy of the new gmail apk? See, I did a titanium backup of everything I had from the first leaked froyo rom and restored it after installing the latest, but after rebooting gmail just force-closes all the time. Anyone have a solution that doesn't involve clearing out everything?
Scratch that, fixed it by clearing out the data from the app in the "manage applications" setting...
That's how you do it. I found out the hard way, by doing it all over. Then the second time around I went that same approach and cleared the data. A gmail is restored.
When you restore from Titanium Backup? Do you have to hit Install and done on some of the Apps? What a pain...Is there a setting I am missing that will install everything? Without having to go through process, after I hit Run Restore All Apps + Data.

If you donate, it will restore in batch mode.

Bingo! Similar issue/solution after installing the evo framework DINC port.
Thanks for this!

Cant download apps from the market

I flash to stock using odin, market still worked. I then flashed cog 2.1 and restored my apps with titanium backup and now it just sits there at starting download.
Which apps or data shouldn't i of restored? I tried clearing cache/data from google apps/talk/market but it still doesn't want to download anything.
Uninstall Google talk/voice and it should be back to normal. It worked out for me when market was hanging like that. It has something to do with titanium when restoring.
sent from my captivate
Just tried that, didn't work, same deal stuck at starting download. Or as a last resort flash with odin/cog again and download every apps manuall by itself or restore missing apps and not all apps.
You probably restored your phone with TiBackup. I had the same problem because I restored the system data with Ti. Instead, restore only the apps that are missing and do not restore anything system related. You should be all good after that.
Unfortunately, you'll have to -- as far as I know -- reflash to stock w/ Odin and go back to Cog, but providing you don't restore the system data you should be golden.
Doing that now...
I wish tibackup could automate restoring apps.
I have that problem when I restore the accounts system data with TiB, but not everything else. I've found that I have to either code all system data or leave accounts out.
All good now, except the installed apps dont show in the market but i think i can live with that. I've had enough with all this flashing for the time being...
Have you ran the market doctor operation in TiB?
Nope, but all my apps are back in the android market... weird.
Ti can auto restore if you get the donate version. If you're doing this more than once it's *WELL* worth the money.
After restoring 300+ apps and manually approving each one once, I donated before having to go through that again.

Cant update stuck on UCKD5 HELP!

As the title states my phone is stuck with baseband version I997UCKD5. Everytime my phone trys to get a update it tells me that it cannot connect to ATT servers. My phone is rooted, is this why its not updating or do I have a defective phone. I have tried to find the answers for with no luck so if someone could please point me in the right direction that would be great.
this is typical att. it is not the phone. can you connect to odin? if you can then backup your apps with titanium backup then use odin to flash gtg's rooted ucke3 package, then backup the new rom with cwm (just good practice). if the apps are wiped then use titanium to reinstall them. it is not always a good idea to restore system data with titanium but i dont think there are significant system changes to prevent hat from working, id try it then if everything force closes id wipe user data in recovery and try it again without restoring system data.
I had the same problem even when i was UNrooted. I rooted my phone and updated to that Infused ROM. I then used the [ODIN][UCKE3] Return to stock download to return to stock and then I had the new update. Everything turned out fine, I had no problems afterwards. I then proceeded to UNroot the device and a day or 2 after that I recieved a new update but alas my phone STILL cannot connect to the servers.

Sorry for my stupidity but I'm still learning, are you saying to load odin UCKE3 to my phone and get the update that way and if i loose my app backup up with titanium?

yes, backup just in case. i dont know if gtg's package wipes but it probably does, actually id bet on it.
sometimes if the firmware is different restoring system data causes issues, what that means is you would lose your call logs and things. but if the app+system data restore causes issues you can just clear data in recovery mode and restore app+data rather than apps +all system data.
do you have contacts sync'd with google? att? if not export the contacts to a v-card on the sdcard. then import after the flash. but i recomend the gole contacts sync if you have want to set it up, sometimes simply setting it up on the phone doesnt work the first time. but once it is working it will restore contacts to any android phone you ever own and you can edit and merge contacts from the gmail website to keep it organized.

sorry i think i miss read something, i thought you meant "incase" hand you lose you apps to backup with titanium which would imply it would be before but now i see it says "if" which implies after the fact, sorry if my confussion caused you problems.
so you didn't do the backup before the flash? and all that apps are present but some force close? is this right? just for clerification
if the apps are still there you may just need to clear app data, this can be done in titanium or in setting> apps > manage apps> all go to each app individually and clear data. this will lose progress on games but not usually much else.
you may prefer to use titanium, to get titanium to work go to settings> apps > manage apps > 3rdparty/downloaded scroll down to titanium and clear data (this wont hurt the backups they are on the sd card)
if that doesnt work and you have access to the market then delete titanium and reinstall it.
im about to be away from my computer, if this doesnt get resolved contact me through pm and i will get back to it tonight. i will make every attempt to keep whatever apps you still have.

Moving to a new ROM

I've been using RobbieL811 Uber rom for quite a while but now development seems to have come to a halt. A couple of posters say move to a new ROM so I tried Resurrection Remix. I don't have time to move my data (Inc save games that don't cloud save) individually, so I Googled the best way to do this. I got a load of 2013 posts about restoring the data partition from the nandroid backup. After installing RR and restoring the backup of the data I just get boot freeze. Is there something I'm missing?

I don't know who said to restore a data backup from a nandroid, that's wrong, it's a huge no-no. The data backup includes all data from the ROM, not just apps, so it's attempting to restore incompatible system settings and stuff like that. You can just use Titanium Backup to make backups of your apps and then restore them after you've flashed your new ROM.
Yep titanium is what u need

Thanks for your assist guys, tried what you suggested and it worked! Until I rebooted. Now it just boots for ages. And nothing else. I've unselected any system apps.

Exactly what did you do? You need to provide a detailed account of everything that lead to this point. What did you restore with Titanium?
I did two over the course of the night, the first I restored everything, including system apps like dialler, Gmail etc. But this broke it. So I wiped, installed, and restored only missing apps and data. Still broken on reboot.

You can't restore system apps/data, that's why it was borked the first time. It's also possible that you restored system/app data the second time too. Only ever restore user apps.

After using titanium to restore user apps and data, some apps just force closed on opening unless I removed the data then it worked. Decided to restore from backup and give it up until 6.0 rom appears.
Make sure you start with a clean slate. Factory reset and flash new Rom before restoring any backup. Are you good up to that point?
I don't know what you're doing wrong man, I change ROMS every now and then, and I just backup my games and apps with Titanium Backup, install new ROM, and restore my apps, always works unless you mess up real bad
titanium backup pro (worth it for flashaholics) or zipme

i have never had that issues on 5 different phones and multiple different roms... try rom toolbox or zipme
Finally gave it one last ditch attempt (well two, actually).
Tried flashing Sultan Cm12 rom, but it unroots the device so bailed on it.
Put latest Resurrection Remix on, restored user apps but was more careful about when I restored. Mostly Google apps and some xposed apps, some Robbie rom stuff that wasn't needed and voila! Posting this from a working rom! Had to reinstall xposed framework and Waze from scratch but that's fine.
Thanks for the support guys!
