Based on Samsung Stock Roms for GTI9305:
- Stable and smooth
- Rooted, Deodexed, Zipaligned, Busybox added
- unbranded, boot sound renamed
- without any mods
- new bootloader isn't included!
- 5 Shortcuts possible add on Lockscreen
- defaultly set EN language, multilingual
All next it’s on your own risk!!!
About bootloaders:
- if you ever flash 4.3 or 4.4 via Odin or updated from OTA you have new Bootloader.
- if you bought your device and you dont know what bootloader you have, turn off your phone, reboot to download mode (hold power + volume down +home buttons) and when is there Knox flag 0x1 you have new and you are warranty off. When Knox flag is there 0x0 you have also new bootloader, but you are still in warranty and when you'll flash any custom recovery or unofficial firmware via Odin, you'll have then Knox 0x1 and you will be warranty off - so it's on your deciding. When isn't in download mode any records about about Knox, you still have old bootloader (btw congratulation ) and don't ever flash via Odin 4.3 and higher firmware - it's a pity.
PS: exit from download mode: hold pressed power button cca 5 seconds

Changelogs - in 3th post
Customize as you like and wish!
- for good improvements I recommend install Wanam Xposed from market
- for cleaning of Bloatware you can use Rom cleaner from S4, guide you will find there, download possible HERE
Installation Instructions:
- first of all backup all your data from internal SD card, 4.3 and 4.4 has different structure tree from 4.1.2!!!
- if you go from 4.1.2 or older I recommend format internal card, if you don’t do it, on internal card were by me still data (DCIM etc...) and you can’t normal access them on 4.3, but even without formatting you can later move them from old folder to new one in 4.3 with Aroma file manager , for me easer way without format. Also is possible, that files will move automatically – also me happened
- be sure, you have EFS backup!!!
- create NanDroid backup to external card!!!
- download the *.zip file to external card!
- download to Recovery, recommended is only PHILz
- ROM isn’t full wipe, but is recommended if you get from any older
- wipe cache and Dalvik cache is automatically included
- select ZIP file from external card and install
- don’t use re-root after installation inside recovery - you don’t need it, if you'll do, then you need install again SU apk from market
- reboot and wait and wait ...
- enjoy it
- IF YOU WILL HAVE PROBLEM WITH ROOT TRY MAKE UPDATE AND APPLY SUPERUSER VIA MARKET ( then open SU and update binary and disable Knox and enjoy), OR RE-ROOT VIA CUSTOM RECOVERY (only PhilZ is recommended), THEN YOU HAVE TO AGAIN INSTALL AND APPLY SUPERUSER APK FROM MARKET.
- ON NEW BOOTLOADER AFTER INSTALLATION I RECOMMEND YOU MAKE STATUS SELINUX PERMISSIVE VIA WANAM XPOSED OR SELinux Mode Changer .....IF YOU WILL NOT MAKE THIS STATUS, ARE EXPECTED PROBLEM WITH ROOT
- If your camera doesn't work primary flash this Camera Patch. It should works . For interesting here are also older instruction: follow this (thanks @Hbohd and @P$T), if you don't have incriminated file flash relevant Stock kernel from HERE - Wifi doesn't work with old bootloader, then take photo and short video, then flash again your Rom without full wipe with kernel which you like. If your camera still doesn't work follow THIS or flash some Rom 4.1.2 (via Recovery or Odin) take picture, grab and backup incriminated files, then flash this Rom and put them to data/cwm. Don't forget backup your SlimISP_XX.bin for future. Problem with camera have only some users - Samsung issue.

Thanks dude!
Ahh, smaller filesize than 4.3... I'll try clean flashing from aosp, I hope it works and I don't have to flash a 4.1.2 stock rom first or something.
Yes smaller.
From Aosp just full wipe
Edit: R2 is a little larger
Now this is some good news mate :good: gonna download it now and if it boots and all works fine I will use as my official base for S5 Elite
Thanks
EDIT: oke, some feedback on the rom
-boots fine
-wifi works
-had some troubles updating the SU binary, solved applying reroot using philz recovery
-manually pushed supersu.apk to phone and installed, cause play store wouldnt open, giving FC
-updated google play services and rebooted and got 2 or 3 more FC's from google related components
-seems overall nice and smooth
-sometimes freezes when trying to open Super SU app, pressing home button solves it though
-samsung apps are removed i guess, didnt saw it in the rom
So this far of my tests, only google related stuff is not working and to be honest, i dont believe rom will boot if i transfer S5 Elite to this base without a 4.4.4 custom kernel updated, but i'll give it a try anyway
Ok very thank you!
Did you make Status SeLinux Permissive and applied towel root before? It should solve SU problems.
Edit: i confirm, Samsung apps aren't included, ill add.
Edit2: added to R2, solved all problems
i would help testing but i urgently need gps and my phone working for a few days coz ii have to go somwhere. Sorry for stupid useless post. I will help testing at the end of the weeek
1. where should I seek for stock kernel (my brother's phone has 4.3 bootloader
2. What recovery is suitable? Like for CM11 - tweaked 2.7.0 TWRP? Or it doesn't mind which one?

Samsung apps I'll check. I also don't know, why is missing SMemo and apks which I already added. The same problem with apps are on ported roms for S3 too

I think i know why the ported apps for the s3 roms dont work, probably youve figured it too, because of the s5 framework they work on the s5 roms, but not with s3 framework of 4.4.4, sounds logical enough to me, right?
Downloaded this version from sammobile 2 days ago... Seems stable.. Also tested this one.. Seems to work fine so far... The camera bug which I kept having constantly on other cm based 4.4.2 seems to bd fixed.. I flashed stock rom before but that didn't even fix the camera, but this one does.
Just curious : any way to remove all the Samsung bloatware with one script or app ?.. Seems to be draining the battery a lot! ?

If I have 4.3 bootloader, wifi doesn't work? Because wifi isn't working for me.

no, no i didnt use them ..... now compiling new version with sasmung apps, and with others missing apps (will be contain the same apps as from Odin) - will solve problem with market too
Edit: and yes, for 4.4.4 must be used stuff from S5 4.4.4 .... I think in S3 threads people works on it

I still don't understand. I don't know which bootloader do I have.
I used http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...tock-sgsiii-i9305-prerooted-firmware-t1935570 and it says:
Code:
D:\ANDROID\ANDROID-SDK\sdk\platform-tools>adb shell
[email protected]:/ $ su
su
/system/bin/sh: su: can't execute: Permission denied
126|[email protected]:/ $ getprop ro.boot.bootloader
getprop ro.boot.bootloader
I9305XXBMJ1
[email protected]:/ $
which is propably 4.1.2's Polish ROM = 4.1.2 bootloader.
As far as I understand You say that every bootloader which is not 4.4.4 will make wifi disabled?
if you ever flashed 4.3 Rom or 4.4.4 via Odin you have new bootloader, if not, you have old.
You can reboot to download mode, and when is there Knox flag 0x1 you have new and you are warranty off. If there isnt any records about Knox you have old and you have to wait for custom kernel.
I always recommend leave old bootloader, you'll not be warranty off
Edit: for more information you can find here topic about knox and bootloader.

If Yes than the only way to WIFI work would be installing newer (but worse) 4.3 or 4.4.4 bootloader?!

yes correct, but if i were you i would wait for a decent FW of 4.4.4 with a custom kernel, soon or later we'll get a new kernel one way or another, till then just wait and enjoy other roms. There is nothing special on 4.4.4 and you will be probably dissapointed with the 4.4.4 fw (at least i am) considering we had to wait so long for it...

This is the well known Build of Jiayu Germany Lollipop Release Candidate 5 (latest) for Jiayu S3 (Advance/Basic) with MTK 6752 SoC
There's also a modified version , for the new Jiayu s3 Pro ( with 32GB of internal memory ) also MTK6752
This is being posted here, as this is a full SPFlashTools "Base" ROM, usually used to recover your device
( or if you want to roll back to Lollipop ...)
The "REPACK" Version is simply the same RC5 Rom, but with latest M.A.D. TWRP already included
There's also a modified version for the s3 Pro (32GB)
The Rom should be flashed in "UPGRADE MODE" on SPFlashTools. (Doesn't matter in what ROM / OS you currently are ...)
DO NOT flash any SP Flash Tools Jiayu s3 (old 16gb) roms on the new Jiayu s3Pro (32GB)
--> Preloader, partitions are different, you'll get an hard brick.
Installation Instructions:
BACKUP EVERYTHING, This will ERASE everything from your internal phone memory (pics, videos, data, etc )
Turn OFF the phone
Open MediaTek SPFlashTools
Load mt6752 Scatter
Choose "Upgrade Mode"
Press "Download"
At this moment, plug USB Cable to phone, it'll start flash ...
Some Jiayu S3, require BOTH Volume Keys to be pressed , while you plug USB Cable to enter in "download Mode"
If you wish to upgrade to latest M.A.D. Android Nougat, after you flashed RC5, it's recommended that you let the RC5 boot up, then you can go back to recovery ( Latest M.A.D. Recovery included already)
Place AOSP Nougat Rom on internal memory/ external SDCard
WIPE ALL
Flash AOSP and GAPPS & SuperSu (latest two optional)
Download ROMs from "XDA DevDB Download Section"
Choose the right rom, for your Jiayu S3 variant (s3 advance / basic 16GB) or ( s3 pro 32GB )
Working:
Everything

Can you also upload the SPFT flash tool so that people would use a similar version and reduce variables and become easier to debug when a problem arises?
I'm sorry for the stupid question but are de download links?

Upgrade successfull!
Thank you. This has helped me gretly with my quest to upgrade 4.4 -> 5.x -> 7.x.
I had a problem with uploading through SP Flash Tool that it wouldn't start to download to phone, but after many tries i finally changed USB port, and then it worked like a charm.
I have a question though. Should i stay on this ROM or upgrade to 6.0.1 or what? The problem is that Xposed framework does not work yet with 7.x, so untill it does, i will stay on system that does support it.

A huge thank you for the s3pro version. I have just bought a second S3 32gb without knowing that it was different to my old S3 32gb, and bricked it trying to install the old rc5 that is on my old phone. This version rescued the phone from death!!
Can I use TWRP to install SuperSU and root it? I'm guessing there's zero chance of flashing 7.1.1 on the s3pro.

I've just found that the recovery is the chinese one, not twrp. Reflashing just recovery does not change this. The build number is 20160302-190806. Any ideas on what might have happened here?
I made this thread mainly for the newer s3 33GB variant...
Since I also got the 32gb variant, after my old s3 died
You just need to follow instructions on the first post
Download full rc5 repack for the 32GB variant
And flash in "upgrade mode"
You,ll get the newer MAD twrp, that is also Nougat compatible.
After flash, just boot to recovery , full wipes (including data, and flash newer Nougat release)
Cheers

Thanks for your reply. I've just done it all again - downloaded the PRO pkg afresh and flashed as 'upgrade', but again booting to recovery shows a chinese menu. I also flashed in 'format all' mode, but the same result. I'm downloading the pkg from the 'downloads' section of this forum, and it unpacks to show recovery as 'S3_h560_TWRP_3.0.2-0' at 13,074kb. The recovery from the old rc5 pkg is a different size - I suppose that can't be used without rewriting the scatter file? Or does the scatter file reference the recovery that's recommended for your latest 7.1.1 rom? I could just get that separately and copy it in.
Apart from blaming the pixies, I really don't understand what is going wrong here.
Stranger and stranger. I replaced the recovery with the one hosted on mediafire for 7.1.1 (though that has a space in the filename which had to be removed for the scatter txt to recognise it) and after flashing the phone was bricked. Then replaced recovery with the one from rc5 and again it was bricked. Then unpacked afresh the pro pkg and flashed with that in 'format all' mode - this time it booted to chinese recovery but refused to boot normally. Then reflashed in 'upgrade' mode and now it boots normally but refuses to boot to recovery. Perhaps the hardware has been changed even further, or perhaps the gods are just laughing at me, but I've run out of options now. The problem is that supersu won't install without updating itself (though it's 2.79) and it fails to update under the 'normal' update option and doesn't have a twrp recovery to update through. Hence the phone can't be rooted.
Sorry for this question, please how can I revert to this ROM I'm already on 7,1.2, what does repack means or how should I repack it ,any possible way to use spflashtool for this ROM, your answer is highly needed urgently please to whom ever knew

awesome! Thanks for your hard work on this! Will this work with the LineageOS build that @surdu_petru and team have been working on?
I think no.... Like Lineage 14.1 for P9 lite,,, we need to go to MM to install it... So lineage kernel according to my guess, works on MM based roms so Elite Kernel wont work with it :/

So this doesn't work on nougat? I guess the support for magisk tells me it doesn't. Bummer.
If the kernel is based on B360 then it should work with N and not MM. The Lineage rom right now is using the stock N kernel with no changes to it. They are not building a N kernel inline with Lineage as there's no source code out for it.
I guess my question is, would it be possible to flash Lineage, and then flash this kernel over it?
my Kernel is on Nougat based ROM not on MM but someone should try it on lineage too.....and tell the result...
@HassanMirza01 -- kernel works and PHH SU works and can R/W /system/. One issue I noticed however is that "Revoke USB Debugging Authorizations" has disappeared from my Developer menu. On the Honor 8 with Nougat I frequently have to revoke and reset authorizations to get it to work properly. I was able to get it working again by flashing the stock boot and rooting with the linked zip.
Magisk, however, crashes the phone on installation attempt, even with SELinux set to permissive. It causes a reboot when 'setting up the environment' either through Magisk Manager or TWRP. It appears that the P9 Lite kernel must have proper loop support whereas the Honor 8 still doesn't even with tweaks. It was speculated that since on the P9 Lite Magisk wouldn't work on Nougat, but on the P9 Lite after flashing this kernel and flashing Magisk in permissive SELinux mode, it installed successfully, that a similar path might work on the Honor 8. Then again, perhaps something is workable.
Either way, thanks for looking into this. :good:

Unfortunately Recovery crashes before it can write what happened to the log. That kernel crash log up above is the closest info we can probably get.
I attached the TWRP log though anyway.

Also another log, this one shows the beginning stages of the flash and where the crash happens. (Search Magisk in the text file)
Expected release date: when kernel source comes out.
Just to makes this clear, we have no proper loop support and thats why magisk will not work (just take the dmesg from the user above as example, it tries to create a new loop volume and directly crashes ..)
Regards

HOW TO FIND BOOTLOADER VERSION
You get Nougat bootloader if you update to MIUI Nougat or flash the Nougat firmware zip @AndropaX made.
After you update to Nougat bootloader you need to request unlock permission from Xiaomi.
(if you can't remember doing any of this then you have Lollipop bootloader)
INSTALL
0. If you are on Lollipop bootloader, flash latest lollipop firmware. (you don't need to do this step each time you flash the ROM, only once).
1. Reboot to TWRP.
2. Wipe cache, dalvik cache, data and system.
3. Install ROM.
4. Install 7.1.x Gapps for ARM64.
5. If you are on Nougat bootloader, install nougat-bootloader-compatible kernel in the boot partition.
6. Reboot.
Root is not included! You need to flash Magisk or Systemless SuperSU.
FEATURES
hardware buttons customization
system ui tuner
You can request features in the comments! We'll be adding the ones we consider useful.
BUGS
edge tap (won't fix)
the included camera is a bit problematic, I suggest using Google Camera 3.2

Updated first post with nougat-bootloader-compatible kernel.
Finally, google play edition mi4c. Thanks for your work bro, really great work
Really exciting to see! and love that you're making it aqua compatible too thanks bud, might have to give this one a try. Let me know if you need anything from the aqua platform!
On the request front - same thing every aqua user will ask for the same thing SD support and if at all possible fpr - understandable if not possible but got to be worth asking!
Thanks again for all you do for the community you guys are superstars!
Thank you!!! Using this rom + SuperSU + a.r.i.s.e sound mode and everything is working perfect (for now).
Only feature missing for me is the advanced reboot menu ! Otherwise a great job, even camera seems good

Im nougat with unlocked bootloader
I followed all the steps and no.5 in the twrp asked me where to install the image
1 system
2 boot
3 Recovery
Which option to choose?
Thank you
Install kernel before gapps or after?
How about performamce and smoothness of this rom compared to AICP?

No, that's why flashing Magisk is an extra step in the first post.
HUGE thanks.
Gonna be my daily driver.
Is it working fine until now, guys?
[ROM][OneUI][Pie][MAGISK][SM-J600G]
I simply took the Stock ROM, added some personal touches, and made it flashable via TWRP
This is JUST STOCK OneUI "OFFICIAL" for the J6, DO NOT EXPECT EXTRA FEATURES!
Also, I debloated it, however it can be debloated further if you wish.
BUT
I want to make something clear. If you have not read this and this allow me to summarize
Pie brings new locks to the table, something far worse than RMM lock. If you flash Pie officially, either via OTA or via Odin, these new locks MAY prevent you from rooting, as I understand it.
The workaround is to flash Pie but with Oreo BL.
HOWEVER
Samsung has easily made Pie only boot with Pie BL with a recent update containing the U4 bootloader version.
This ROM is confirmed to work on U4 BL:
Making it impossible users who upgraded to go back to official Oreo via Odin.
So... for now... DO NOT
UPLOAD YOUR BOOTLOADER TO PIE YET OR YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ROOT OR FLASH CUSTOM BINARY ANYMORE!
And this is where this zip comes in handy!
This ZIP will not change your BL (it will keep your current) and included is a kernel (Helios Pie kernel) that fixes small issues. Also, if anything were to go wrong, you still have TWRP to backup and restore, how awesome is that?
So, you have been warned!
Downloads:
Android File Host
Instructions:
-Create a backup (just in case)
-Wipe system and data
-Flash zip
-Reboot and wait 10 minutes
If after 10 minutes, it is still in logo, force a reboot (Hold VOL +, VOL - and POWER) and then the ROM will work
"Features":
- Official Pie!
- Most knox services working (SPass, Secure Folder, Samsung Health...)
For SPass, just go to Settings->Biometrics->Fingerprint and enable the toggles
- In theory, should not have major bugs
- Helios v3.1 Kernel
- Pre-rooted with Magisk
- Debloated
If you appreciate having Pie with a beautiful and awesome kernel please consider a donation to ananjaser1211, who was kind enough to compile Helios Pie kernel without even having the device!!!
@ananjaser1211 for compiling Pie kernel for the J6... without even having the device! Amazing job!
@topjohnwu for Magisk
@ Samsung for the firmware
@ Team TWRP for their amazing recovery
@ To users like you!
