Wi-Fi Not Working After Decryption. (ZTE K88) - General Questions and Answers

Hey, i have a ZTE K88 Tablet and for some reason when i flash custom roms and use a dm-verity/forceencrypt disabler and then when the device isn't encrypted i can't toggle WiFi. can someone please help me? i seem to be the only one having this problem. oh yeah one more thing, whenever i encrypt the device WiFi starts to work again but after 2 reboots i get this pop up "to start android enter your password" idk why i get this error. i didn't even set a password. default_password only worked once, but after that it stopped working.

'Type password to decrypt storage' PROBLEM! (Moto G XT1032)

Hello everyone,
Today I (tried to) flash a new custom ROM on my falcon.
This wasn't the first time I flashed a custom ROM, but this time it went wrong.
To start with, I accidently took a Android 4.4.2 custom ROM (link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2756571 v.0.3), but using a Android 5.x bootloader.
It flashed correctly and also booted just fine, until I got a message stating that I should enter a password to decrypt storage. My previous custom ROM was Paranoid Android 5.1 and I indeed encrypted my storage (something that I will never do again), but if I insert the password used in Paranoid Android it says 'try again'.
I searched xda-developers and some said to delete cache and user data, so that is what I did (using Cyanogen Recovery).
But deleting user data and clearing the cache didn't work. I now no longer have USB-debugging enabled and my laptop is not recognizing my phone.
I also tried ADB, but it isn't recognizing it etc.
After like 4 hours of trying and looking at forums, I am getting hopeless.
Anyone encountered this problem too (and solved it perhaps)?
I would be really greatful to get my phone working again, I have downloaded the previous ROM I had on my laptop, so I can flash it on phone once I have a solution.
For now, texting on a stone-age Samsung phone without WiFi or touch So I need help ASAP
Thanks!

Does the pc recognize the device while in fastboot?

Device locked down.! I am done.!

Hi there,
I am happily using my Mi4i since more than a year now. Now I moved on to a new device and given my Mi4i to wife. Before giving it I did factory reset and internal storage wipe using 'recovery' (stupid me, should have done from settings). Phone booted up, everything was fine. But when ever I turned on Wifi (when ever the phone got connected to internet) it showed a screen says 'Activate this device'. What is the big deal, I entered my password clicked Activate. Well that gave me a mini heart attack. It said invalid activation code.! Then I noticed carefully and sadly figured out that the Mi account number showing in the activation message screen is different than my actual account number. Don't know how this happened How can I get over this ? or atleast know which email ID is associated to the showing Account (it shows account number with **** in the middle).? will a complete image flash fix this issue ? any help will be appreciated.
Note : Obviously you guys can think like I am a thief and it is a stolen device. If there is any proof needed I can post the original invoice here
Just try flash again with latest ROM via fastboot
Flashboot should resolve your issues, and now since you are flashing it as a secondary device, it may be worth upgrading it to Android 6.0.1 :

[Completed] CM Omega HD 2.0 Encryption Unsuccessful

Any help or suggestion would be appreciated.
My device is Cherry Mobile Omega HD 2.0 (MT6589)
So here's my story:
I was texting while a message saying "Unfortunately, Messaging has stopped". I rebooted my device and what greeted me is a long message about Encryption Unsuccessful and a button for resetting my phone. I've never enabled encryption on my device. I tried tapping the button but nothing happens. I booted into recovery mode to factory reset but when I try, an error saying "Mount /data error" is all I get.
I tried searching online for a possible fix but I couldn't find anything! I'm trying to flash the stock rom on my device (I was running on stock rom when this happened. Yes, I'm rooted) but the pc doesn't seem to recognize my phone. I have a preload driver but it still won't recognize my device!
It still boots up until the encryption unsuccessful message and it still charges.
At this point, I'm already pretty desperate. :crying: I hope anyone could help or give suggestions! Oh, and if anyone could give me an idea on how could this have had happen to my device it would be very helpful. (I might have deleted some files on the internal storage and might be the cause but I did that maybe 3-4 days after this happened.)
Thanks!

Hi, Thanks for using XDA assist.
It looks like there is no dedicated forum for your device, however
There is a general forum for android here http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help where you can try to ask to get expert's help.
Good luck

Unable to reset S6 - Says abnormal factory reset

Hi all
I've recently reset my wife's phone so my son can use it.
However, after factory reset (using the buttons) when it reboots I cannot set it up.
It says that an "Abnormal factory reset" has been performed and asks for my wife's Samsung email/password.
When we put this in - it's rejected (actually, it says signing in but nothing happens).
We've reset the password but it still won't work.
I'd be happy to just format it an put a clean custom ROM on it but I don't know how.
All guides I find say it needs to be rooted first and to enable USB developer options - but I cannot unlock the phone to get to this stage.
Could someone please help me figure it out? Samsung can't (they want us to send it to them for a chargeable repair!)
Thanks
Matt

Hi, you don't need to root before flashing.
Samsung is AWESOME FOR THIS.
You can flash at any desperate moment.
It is time to install Android 10 for the dummies : https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/general/guide-tutorial-howto-samsung-galaxy-s6-t4108425
Thanks. I managed to fix it though.
I had to get the L2 Samsung account support to disable two-factor authentication.
Then the password worked and the phone unlocked.
The "this phone is blocked" screen requires your Samsung password but isn't smart enough to work with two factor auth (which is default turned on for all Samsung accounts). #facepalm

Nope the twofacauth is not turned on by default for Sam acc or any other acc on this Planet...that must be activate and config by user.
But if you have the right knowledge you could flash other Rom even if the Phone is lock by google. You just need to know how to.
