Hello!
I am hoping someone may be able to help me with an existing widget/app to play a few music files. My wife is a teacher and she would like to quickly be able to click a button and have a tablet play an MP3 file. She has a few different activities (clean-up, welcome to class, end of the day) and then two or three different songs she would like to select from for each of these categories. I am trying to figure out a way I could add 'fences' to the homescreen of the tablet with the 2-3 songs listed below that she could just quick click on to play the music. Any ideas?

Hi!
I use the Music tab in Sense to play my music, because it's really neat to have it so easily accessible. There is one feature I miss, though, and I think it could be easily added. I miss having the option to enqueue(hope that's the right spelling ) the song to the Now Playing playlist instead of playing it right away. I used to make a queue of songs I'd like to hear in all my previous music players and I don't wanna give it up or be forced to use WMP. So is there a possibility any good programmer would add that feature? It would be like: short press - play, long press - enqueue. Or something like that. I would be really grateful. Thanks
P.S. Yes I know I can build playlists, but I'd like this better.
I'll be following this thread. It's the one (major) thing missing from the music player. Let's hope there's a solution.
I also miss the option to just browse for a certain folder! The album names sometimes do not match, which results in songs being catogorized several times in the album list.... A new tab would be wonderful
Anyone know of any music apps that go to a list of artists after selecting genre? Its the way Apple does genre browsing and I think they have a patent on it because no other music player does it, they send you to all the songs in a genre which is a joke (select "rock" and get a list of 1200 songs, thanks for narrowing it down).
The ONLY app Ive seen that does this is Player Pro, and they do it in a weird way (which lets them get by the patent, assuming there is one).
I simply cannot use a music app that doesnt allow you to browse by genre and then goes to artists, its by far the easiest way to find what youre looking for since it narrows results down so much. I only use the music part of my phone when driving so finding things quickly without looking through big lists is essential, searching by artist is too difficult because I have too many artists and the list is too long to scroll through, if it wasnt for Player Pro I'd still be using my ipod touch for music. Player Pro is a good app but Id still like to know of alternatives.
I remember there being a Zune clone floating around that wasnt allowed on the google store because it was an exact copy, is there anything like that for the iPod (I know about bTunes, its not what Im looking for)?

The MixZing media player seems to do what you're asking for, when you click on the genre section it shows you the artists, and on clicking the artits you get the albums.
Since Google doesn't seem to have any support forum anymore that would be related to Google Play music, I'm forced to post this message elsewhere. I did already contact Google support about the issue, however they've not answered me yet.
The problem that I have with Google Play Music is that playlists seem to have rather low maximum limits for number of songs. Currently I've mostly been listening to music by simply giving good tracks a thumbs up. After this I can simply shuffle the thumbs up playlist and It'll only play songs that I like and not only one genre like the radio stations. Recently, however I realized that the number of songs on the 'Thumbs up' playlist doesn't keep increasing but instead stays at approx 1150 songs or 95 ½ hours. For whatever reason my phone and other mobile devices show 1200 songs for the 'Thumbs up' playlist.
I tried to go around this problem by creating a new playlist and adding everything in thumbs up to it but apparently other lists only support 1000 tracks. :silly:
What this means is that the whole thumbs up system is almost entirely useless for me from now on; adding more songs will simply drop some earlier added ones from the playlist (I did verify by copy-pasting the whole playlist to Notepad++ that there are actually only 1146 songs in the list). It's also pretty much impossible for me to now keep up with which songs have been dropped from thumbs up and should actually be there.
Has anyone else ran into this issue? I couldn't really find anything similar to my issue by googling around. Surely I can't be the only one who has over 1200 tracks on their thumbs up list?
Edit:
After some further investigating I found out that on my every mobile device the amount of tracks on 'Thumbs up' is different. Anyone else experiencing this issue?
Same Problem
I use a playlist to select the songs I want to sync to my Android phone. It has over 2000 songs in it but the limit is 1000. Please remove this limit Google!

I have the same exact issue, but I am not sure how we are going to be able to do anything about it until Google just figures it out. I doubt they are trolling this forum. I called Google and they said there is a limit and that it was recording the thumbs up/down, but it only allows for a certain amount of songs in the auto playlist. Something about something on the back end preventing longer playlists. This is complete bull**** as Spotify and other music services do not have these limitations. Whats the most annoying is that I love Google music and want to keep using it, but if it's just going to keep blasting away my thumbs up playlist periodically as I add new tracks over the next 10 years then whats the point? I should have like 10,000 thumbs up tracks in there, not 1,000!!! Complete FAIL!

Hey friend hopefully you're still monitoring this thread. I found a way around this bug and hopefully it works for you also. When I was on the phone with Google they told me that my thumbs were all being saved, but just not all showing on this thumbs up playlist. What I did was select all the tracks in the thumbs up playlist, and then select "add to library". Once I did this all of my thumbs up tracks appeared in the thumbs up playlist and everything seems to be working now. I guess there is some sort of bug in which if you add your thumbs to your library they will all show. I will do this periodically as I thumb up more songs, but at least this worked for me. Let me know if it works for you and hopefully others can find this thread!! I may or may not call Google back to report this finding. I do have an open ticket with them and they said they would call me back.
Download a third-party music app!
Third party music apps are a good way to go about music issues.
I like Apollo and Rocket Player. There are plenty of others, though. usually third party apps don't have a playlist limit.
Don't forget to use the Thanks button!
Is there anyway that anybody has figured out to make a playlist on the gear 2 music player? I use my gear alot at the gym and connect it to my bluetooth headphones but all the music I sent to the my gear is just one big alphabetical playlist. Is there any way to either make a playlist on the gear or even reorder the songs the way I want as opposed to alphabetical order because that sucks bad. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance
I was wondering the same.

When you're in the music player, press the top right icon to get to the now playing list and then press top right again you'll get a list of tracks on the watch, you can scroll to playlists, albums, artists and folders here so it definitely supports playlists to some degree but there's only 4 default playlists of recently played, recently added, most played and favourites. You can add tracks to favourites by holding down on them in the tracks list and selecting "add to favourites" so it seems you can use favourites to create one single playlist but you can't set an order as far as I can see so the tracks will still order themselves alphabetically by artist.
If you hook it up to the computer there is a playlists folder but it doesn't seem to do anything. I've copied m3u and pla playlists into both the music and playlists folder to no joy. You can create new folders within music and use the folders menu on the watch I suppose but that's gonna put them in alphabetical order so I guess the only way to make a playlist on the watch work in anything but alphabetical at the moment would be to edit the id3 tags of your mp3s to make them all appear to be on the same album. The existance of a playlist menu and playlist folders is a good sign though I assume.
Thanks dominoid I do indeed appreciate the help. It may not indeed fix our problem totally but its a great start maybe in a future update they will fix this. In the mean time at very least I can make a favorites playlist just for thr gym until someone figures out another way. Needless to say thanks for info on the favorites playlist I was unaware of it :good: edit......However I did figure out after playing around with it that when you put songs in your favorites playlist it doesn't put them in alphabetical order it puts them in the order you put them in the playlist meaning the first song you put in there will be last in the playlist and the very last song you put in the playlist will now be first. So although it may be tedious and time consuming it technically is possible to put one playlist in the order you like.....better than nothing I suppose.....thanks again for your help
Hello all.
I carry a good amount of music in my phone (LG G4): Around 20 gigabytes inside the /Music folder in the MicroSD card. The music is in folders that may be for a single artist or collections of a type of music with various artists.
I like to listen to the music in random order. I have tried Google Music, the LG music player, Musicolet and Pulsar. They find all the songs and folders, but in all of them the "shuffle all" option misbehaves in the same way: It will shuffle songs between a limited number of folders (perhaps 3). It will not repeat songs (or seldom do it), but it becomes monotonous.
For example: I may get a song from The Beatles, another from CCR, another from Metallica and then a different one from The Beatles, a different one from CCR and so on. seldom picking songs from other artists until these are over.
It becomes very noticeable in long trips. I may re-open the songs tab and press the shuffle button again, but then it will loop over a different small set of folders.
Have you noticed that as well? To these apps share the same code or libraries, perhaps?
Thanks.
