Hi, After a recent update to KitKat on my Motorola G (Tesco Mobile) the phone randomly goes into airplane mode has anyone else had this problem? I had guessed that it maybe a problem with an app that may need updating for KitKat support but before I weed out all the apps I thought I would ask here in the hopes someone has had the same problem and has resolved it somehow.
Any help or suggestions would be gratefully recieved.
Thankyou.

Wow, that's strange
Try rebooting the phone turn it off and on
See if that works
2) See your app list, and LOOK at the less unkown apps and remove them first and see
Best of luck

I should have mentioned its running a stock rom, anyway yes I have tried a factory reset as well as a reboot with the same issues, it could be an app but doing a reset should have sorted that out, I seem to remember though that apps reinstalled after reset etc, I will check though and publish any findings thanks Krisshp, in the meantime if anyone else has come across this issue I'd appreciate your thoughts - Thankyou. :fingers-crossed:

Apps aren't able to control Airplane mode directly since Android 4.2.x, so it must be something else.
Probably the SIM is not correctly set.
Take it out and put it back.

Interestingly mine did the same thing a few days ago , but ( touch wood! ) only once!. Picking up the phone, I noticed that there was no network status. Trying to make a call said 'disable airplane mode'. Turning airplane mode on then off fixed it for me.
Is your phone still locked to Tesco ? mine's unlocked and on giffgaff.
moto g aeroplane mode headache
Moto g 8gb on giffgaff
Since turning on daydream and upgrading to KitKat mine has also done the same. Turned off daydream and rebooted phone so far so good about to go on 2 hour journey will let you know my findings. Fingers crossed. How ever I noticed just before upgrading to this phone that the same thing started to happen in my old c905.coincidence? We are all using the o2 network
I have the same airplane mode / loss of service notification on my 8gb moto g on Talkmobile which is on the voda-uk network.
same problem
I've still got the same problem. Will either turn on airplane mode automatically at random points or usually when I try to make a call. has anybody managed to find a solution?
Check that the SIM is well placed. My SIM is faulty factory and sometimes come off easily when I remove the cover.
It's definitely not the sim. I've only had problems since the update. Sim has been taken out, wiped and put back in.
I've done a factory reset using the software and the power off way. If there is a way to put jellybean back on, that might help. Its just a random glitch to have airplane mode turning itself on randomly.
has anyone found a solution to this?
my phone keeps putting itself into airplane mode since the KK update, it's ruining the experience of this phone for me
Well you have two options. 1- Warranty. 2- Root the phone and try whit a Custom Room's and try out until solve the problem(and lose the warranty). I preferred the first one
Just been looking for more info on this. There's some reports on of similar issues on the Nexus with 4.3 ( and maybe 4.4.2 )
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=58317
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=58495
There's also a couple of threads on the Motorola forums relating to the Moto G ( not sure how many of the posters there are common to here ? )

NB sorry can't post direct links yet!!
im having the same issues on my retail moto g, it's got to be a bug in the kk update as it never happened on jb !
also my sister's tesco moto g is having the same problem
this worked for me
had the same problems when moved from 4.3 UK retail to DE retail.
the issue was fixed when i did a factory reset to my phone.
No problems since.
As i recall the flashall scripts i used to flash stock roms (both UK and DE) do not format /cache and /data partitions.
same problem here and seems to be getting worse,no problems while using wifi but when switching too data it goes into airplane mode, this can happen straight away or go for hours without doing it, really annoying
lots of complaints on the motorola forums and samsungs now so hopefully google are on the case..

I have 5 moto G's here, all upgraded to KitKat, all suffering from the same issues.
Come on moto/google, can we have a fix??!
Update imminent
Just spoken to both Tesco Mobile and also to Motorla help chat, both tell me that the fix has been released and the phone should be updated immininently - heres hoping, as the problem seems to be getting worse every day!

my girls phone has this problem, I have the solution.
Just flash the 4.3 respective radio.img so for example go to the moto g radio and kernel page and expand the 4.3 content box and choose the radio for your region whatever that is you will notice only a few are different, then flash it in either twrp or cwm or in fastboot
fastboot flash radio (filename).img
I personally flashed twrp and the flashed the radio.zip whilst in the custom recovery
if anyone needs help with this PM me
MAKE SURE YOU CHOOSE THE CORRECT RADIO I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR BRICKS
After upgrade Samsung S4 9505 to Lollipop i have a problem with sound in calls. The sound it's distorted, it sound weird, looks like it doesn't have HD voice anymore. I tested it with ears and same problem. Some people said also my voice it's changed, they hear me different.
Does anyone have the same problem? Knows anyone how to fix this? Thank You
You are very very lucky that your mobile is still functioning. Just your sound is facing problems. It's not wise to upgrade a Samsung mobile cause most of them cause trouble. And most of them end up like that device is not a mobile phone anymore. If it possible then restore your mobile as soon as you can.
Don't worry, some of the Samsung mobiles still function after an upgrade with just a little servicing. So, try your service provider iff the date of your warranty ran over.

Yes! You're the Luckiest Galaxy S4's owner after upgrading to Lollipop . I was also upgraded to lollipop but I'm facing many problems like Wi-Fi not working , IMIE lost and many problems.
Hope they will fix my problem to next version. Phone works perfect, i've had another bug with alarm sound, now it's ok.
I was verry dissapointed after upgrade becouse it doesn't come with Ultra Power Saving Mode.
Hey guys.
I thought i'd check here before throwing my Honor 8 in the bin..
I updated the phone the other day through the firmware finder app and everything seemed to be working perfectly. a few days pass and i notice i have no signal at all, strange im on three and my area has great reception. long story short i'm now on day 2 of no reception, no calls, texts, nothing.
Been in touch with the manufacturer to make sure the imei hasnt been black listed or anything, its all fine..
My question is, has my phone just broken? Has the firmware got something to do with it & if so how do i downgrade back to MM?
Thanks for reading, i'm so ready to throw it in the bin, so any help would be amazing.
Have you tried factory reset the phone?
It is recommended to factory reset the phone after the upgraded, if you experience problems. I've updated with the firmware finder app but don't have any issues. Try resetting the phone.

Hi there XDA peeps. Just wondering if anyone recognises this issue and can tell me if they are familiar with the fault at all?
Samsung S6 G920I handset, been running an older ROM for a couple of years. Recently started playing up, when sending or receiving a call the call is established, both parties can hear each other, then within 5 seconds the mic cuts out on the S6, then shortly after the call is dropped. I've tried:
Switching SIM cards and the carrier. Problem persists.
Full wipe from TWRP including system and cache then install LineageOS. Problem persists.
The fact the mic works for a bit then drops makes me think a software fault but after wiping it still occurs so I'm thinking hardware. What do you lot think?
I didnt understand u clearly
but you could use voice recorder & record.. be sure that u r recording on the bottom mic which there is also up mic above the headset.... if its okay .... flash ur 4 files firmware with pit partition for ur model..
regards,
Do you know where I can get the 4 files?

yes on this site I prefer to download 6.0.1 & if u want Nougat install it in custom rom cuz u dont have to update bootloader anyway

Hmmm, it won't let me download it without buying them. Does anyone have a link to the free file? G920IDVU3FQF1_TEL3FQF1_V7.0_Repair_Firmware_4Files_( TEL Australia (Telstra) ).rar
