Hello guys,
Im new on this phone. im confused i have some question.
Some of news websites say that the Official OS 10 for OP7 series will be released this month.. what does that mean ?
now i have 10.0.1 and Beta 3 was released 2-3 days ago why ?
what are differences between 10.0.1 and 10 beta 3?
can you explain it guys ?
10.0.1 is stable...
The beta program showcases potential features and fixes that could be merged into stable.
Beta 3 is a work in progress...
For those of us who know what Beta software is, can anyone give detailed differences?
I'm getting frustrated with the Android auto bugs (resets theme every time you connect, randomly disconnects). Hoping they're fixed in beta 3?

Super helpful post here defining a beta and stable.
You really think the Op didn't know the technical differences of the 2 definitions?
Come on man, he's obviously asking about specific features. Saying this **** isn't helpful.

I'll be honest, I completely missed Beta 3. Just hopped on 10.0.1. I'll switch back to beta at 4

After having tried both the beta 3 (What I'm currently using) as well as 10.0.1 they are the same, except for a few testing features. There is a new work balance mode that randomly appears disappears in the quicksettings menu. I think it's supposed to be India only. The Android auto theme bug isn't fixed. There's also some minor crash fixes for SUPER specific situations, like what's app notification settings causing crashes. There's also a few new options with Zen mode and game mode. Mostly just experimental stuff

Hi, I missed why oreo or pie is not good for the guy you replied to?
I am installing 8.1 on my Nexus 5 as I type this. I have been out of scene for 2 years though so i am behind.
Thnx
I'm on los14.1 (latest nightly) and have been having issues with Bluetooth in general.
It was fine up to a few months ago, then I hopped over to DirtyUnicorns.
On DU, I was getting "Bluetooth has stopped" quite often, so I switched back to LOS14.1.
I'm still having issues, but not as bad.
I have a miband, mainly for notifications, but this loses connection and I stop getting my notifications.
Sometimes, the phone won't sleep, and betterybetterystats reports Bluetooth (under Kernal) as being the culprit.
Usually turning BT off and on sorts it for a while, other times it needs a reboot.
I'm starting to thing it's a hardware issue with the phone, (tried it with 3 different mibands, and 2 phones) is there anyway to test?

Quoting myself but, anyway....
Installed the latest factory image yesterday (2 years old!) and Bluetooth has been rock solid.
I wonder if the gapps version make any difference to BT (nano/pico/stock)?
If I recall correctly any ROM before Oreo Bluetooth will work correctly so find any nougat marshmallow ROM u like and run it
Ah..

Yeah I have come across some bugs.. but I do not use BT calling or use Whatsapp and yeah the battery goes pretty quick but I need a new battery though. Mine is over 2 years old. I just ordered a new batter for my Nexus 5. I am going to try and stretch it out another year. I would like to get a Pixel XL but man they are too expensive... still!
I like Resurrection Remix Oreo (Android 8.1). The performance is pretty good. Faster than Kitkat 4.4.4 was. Hehehe
Hello, I got the H2OS Open Beta 14 update a day ago and it's been a terrible experience since. Amazon, Google, Google Go, and most other apps that I use crash just after they're launched. I also saw a few people say that they face app crashes on the latest OxygenOS Open Beta but I can't confirm for sure. This issue was not present in the previous builds. What's the most hassle-free way to get out of this situation? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Are you a beta tester for the Google Play Services app? If yes, go back to the stable channel, update the app and see, if there's a difference. Last time I had an app crashing issue, it was exactly because of GPS, so it might be the culprit in your case too.
On other note: why H2OS?

Thank you for the quick response! I keep my GPS off most of the times and no, I'm on the stable channel already. Seems like the build has bugs (no surprise since it's beta)
And I bought my OP6 from a friend who wanted money for the 6T, he had given it to me with H2OS. I have a lot of experience with flashing, so I guess switching to OOS is the only solution here. Any good guides on it btw? Because I've heard that you can switch from Oxygen to H2 easily but the other way around is a bit messy.

Google Play Services (GPS - not Global Positioning System ;D) is a vital part of the Google ecosystem, so you can't really have it off if you're using Google apps
But yeah, since it's most probably not the app's fault, I'm not sure where the issue lays - switching to OOS might indeed be a good idea. And as @whizeguy said, the process is easy no matter what you're switching to/from.
EDIT: Actually, could you please check, if you have the newest version of Webview installed (whether or not it needs to be updated)? If it's disabled, then just ignore this, if it isn't however, and it does need an update, then update it and see, if that helps.

It's up to date, just checked. I downloaded the latest OOS beta package but since downgrading isn't allowed, I'll have to wait for the next build unfortunately thank you though!

Hi all, I'm thinking of installing Android Q, though have never installed a beta before. For a noob like me, should I wait until it's past beta or should it be alright?
Has anyone installed it and if so, how are you finding it?
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I am running the Q beta. For the most part, it's working very well, but there's some issues. Some apps are not working normally, or at all. It's a gamble at best. Many beta testers have a 2nd phone to rely on, just in case. And, some will wait until the 2nd or 3rd release before jumping in.

I honestly find this beta rock stable considering it's a beta as its name says. It's my Daily Driver for my Pixel 2.
I will probably wait for dp2/3 like with pie
Its pretty stable, however the battery life is not exactly on point. i do not yet recommend it as a daily driver, however if you want to install it to see new features you can go here https://www.google.com/android/beta to opt in your device and install it like any other OTA update
I'm using it as a daily driver. Honestly i didnt face any issues except for one app (localcast) not working. Battery life is almost the same but sometimes goes wrong and drains for no reason. All in all though its pretty stable.
Dont know if I'll recommend it though, it really depends on how you use it and if all your apps are compatible. For me there are really no extra "features" or speed improvements, just minor things here and there that dont make a big difference overall, I'd stick with Pie if I were you.
Anyone with Android Q DP1 and Magisk?
I've seen some folks with P2XL with it working on the Magisk Canary topic, but no one with the regular Pixel 2.
Anyone using Q notice if the notification sounds are working in Android auto yet? Thanks

installed the beta last night and its holding up pretty well so far 12 hrs in. loving the system wide dark mode (finally) and the battery life is the same as P, so far.
I noticed a couple things that may be reasons to wait until the next update for some folks:
- All my stored wifi passwords were lost immediately upon updating.
- When passing by wifi networks that are saved but do not have the password set mobile data drops and stays off until toggling mobile data on/off. I'm not certain it's wifi related, but each time it happened I was using the phone and noticed xfinitywifi tried to connect and then mobile data dropped.
- Chrome doesn't autofill passwords, latest Chrome beta fixed this so it will eventually be fixed when the next Chrome version drops.
hi everyone,
I was wondering if it was useful to go to the open beta Android 10 or I should wait for the stable version? Thank
Loads of threads already on this.

Everything I need works. The only thing that is buggy is that adaptive brightness is too low in low light conditions. Not a biggie. I'm happy with OB1.
Wait
OB1 and very happy with it. Haven't had an issue yet.
I don't use Adaptive Brightness so I can't speak for that, but everything else has been very smooth.
No app crashing or compatibility issues either.
Wait for stable unless you want to setup everything from scratch if and when you decide to return to stable! Going from stable to beta is smooth...no resets...but going from beta to stable means an automatic reset thereby wiping the phone completely.
Just wondering to those who installed the Beta, has there been any small updates to fix the bugs? When I used it it was unusable or do we have to wait for beta 2, which seems to be taking a long time.

I think we have to wait for the 2 beta version
Oneplus have just released Beta 2 for the 8 Pro, hoping Oppo won't be too far behind.
