I cant find threads about the Huawei Y9 Prime, considering maybe its bound to release on August globally (based from Google) but its already released here, but i want to find a way to hide apps. Considering that it runs on EMUI 9, just like Huawei Mate 20 Pro, I thought this would work: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-20-pro/help/hiding-apps-drawer-t3893921 but the Tweaker for Huawei keeps on returning this error: "Error: You can't have root access to change settings.", what should I do?
EDIT: The Multi-Tool 8, the PC version of the Tweaker for Huawei, doesn't recognize the device. So I guess I'll have to wait for updates for the apps to support this device. But is there a third-party launcher or app that could solve this problem at least temporarily till the apps get updated?
I have a phone with Android 9.
If I update my phone to Android 10 (available, for my phone) it will update my Google apps.
One of the updated Google apps, I detest and I do not want, I want an old version (Maps).
I am fairly sure, it's impossible (without root?) to remove the version of maps, that comes with Android 10, to my Android 9 version of maps.
Does anyone know if this is impossible or not? I'd hate to update my phone and get the bad version.
Thank you.
(PLEASE no stupid arguments about why the feature I want is stupid, PLEASE - I just want an older version of maps)

I have confirmed, with other Mate 20 (non Pro) Huawei users that V10 of the Mate 20 OS will result in an updated base level Google apps and therefore, give me a new base level Google Maps (which again, SUCKS!)
This is a completely unmodified, non rooted phone and the update would be coming over 4G / LTE to my phone from the carrier, so I'm unsure how I can intercept the GAPPS.ZIP (or equivelant) inside the update?
I bought the P40 pro for the camera and it seems very good and battery life is excellent. Using the googlefier method have installed all apps from the play store. My software version is stuck on 10.1.0.121(C185E9) and the model is ELS-N29. Actually a blessing, as all the apps are working fine (except of course Duo and Gmail notifications) and don't really need the cool features of EMUI 11, especially if I can avoid the hassle of downgrading to EMUI 10 every time I need to reinstall GMS because of google account pwd change or to add a new google account.
My question is can I just update the stock camera alone from my current version of 10.1.0.315 to the latest version that comes with later updates of EMUI 10 or 11 to take advantage of the camera enhancements ?
If so, will some kind soul please upload the apk in this thread and give the camera version ? Thanks in advance.
Hi, I have a P30 (model ELE-AL00) bought from China a few years back. I have Youtube, Google Maps, Chrome browser, Play store, Gboard keyboard, Google, WPS Office, Office, Drive, Google Voice, ... apps installed on my P30 (with EMUI 11.0.0.155(C00E155R1P5)). Now I receive an update for Harmony OS 2.0.0.165. If I update from the current EMUI to Harmony OS, will I lose all the above Google apps and Microsoft apps? Thanks

Google apps still working after upgrading to HarmonyOS from EMUI, don’t need to panic

Thank you so much for the info and the link. I will upgrade my P30 to Harmony OS in the next few days.
My guess is that everything that has to do with Google (apps / services) will no longer be installable / executable, and Huawei can also live well with it: Huawei's main market is China itself and the company holds there a market share of ~40 percent.

As far as I know, both Google apps and Microsoft apps will continue to work well on a Huawei P30 phone after the device upgrades from EMUI to Harmony OS.
Just please make sure that you have disabled the 'Pure Mode' on Harmony OS in order to sideload an apk.

That's it.
Hi, I'm a college student and i recently saved up and bought a Nova 9 (NAM-LX9) and have been finding a way to get harmony on it. My main goal for bbuying a huawei was to test and use harmonyos and it took a while for me to get it with the US sanctions and all. I read up a bunch and was wondering if there is any method for this. Most forums i saw were older and for other devices however I did see some people managed it but just said they did with no explantion. Would love to figure this out or it'll be $300 down the drain lol. Thank you!
Actually Nova 9 phones run EMUI 12, what is Harmony OS 2.0.0, AFAIK.
You can install Google Play Store on this phone as shown here
