Anyone wants to sue google for this phone? - Google Pixel 3 Questions & Answers

Hi guys. I have recently updated my pixel 3 to android 10 and wow tons of bugs.
Now my notification is not showing. My home button is not working in any gesture mode, same as my multi task button. The only thing working is the back button. Not to mention the update failed 2 times earlier (stuck on google logo.)
I am planning to sue google for selling goods with manufacture defects. The same thing other people did with pixel 1 years ago. Any one wants to join. I have a membership with a lawsuit service so want to try to use it for at least once this year.

My Pixel 3 is running beautifully. No issues what so ever. Have you performed a full reset and installed the factory image? Booted in safe mode to see if one of your apps is causing the issue? Love how there are so many people on the Sue wagon. No wonder the courts are so full of crap.

Having a membership in a lawsuit service says a lot about you. I have had my Pixel 3 since launch and it has worked flawlessly since the day I purchased it.
I would suggest a factory reset and then install the factory image then add one app at a time untill you find the offenders.

Sounds like you were too impatient with the first two attempts at upgrading. It can take quite a long time sometimes for the phone to completely update itself and optimize the apps. The more apps you have, the longer it will take. Stopping this update process will cause all kinds of issues with your phone - the type of issues that you describe now.
Best bet would be to do a full wipe and installation of Android 10. This means losing all of your data, but it will fix your issues.
The root of your problem is not a hardware issue - it's user error.

A lawsuit service?
Lmao, no.

I suppose 20 hours wait each time will be enough

I don't know what is happening here on this thread. When a phone manufacturer crushes your phone with an update and tells you that they don't have a good backup method and the only way to save your phone is to factory reset it and lost most of your data. Then the people here just say, then do it.
This phone sells 880 tax included not 699 as oneplus 7 pro. (Besides, that phone is the one more like 880 worth)
I hope all these people will face problem one day and told by the customer service that a specialist will contact them who won't show up no matter how long they wait.

Ugh

You have a 'membership for a lawsuit service'? You sound like an absolute weapon.

Hi, haotingliu1990.
I, like the rest of the people who have posted, have not had the negative experience that you are having, nor do I want part in a lawsuit. Also like others, would recommend wiping your phone and starting fresh. You mentioned that there no backup solutions but there actually are quite a few...
1. Google's built in back up and sync. This will take care of apps that support it, sms, wifi networks, and maybe a few other things (wallpaper, settings, etc. I don't remember all).
2. An app like titanium backup. That will cover any app and it's data that you need it to.
3. An app like sms backup and restore to, obviously, backup and restore your sms.
4. Google photos will automatically sync your pictures to the web so they don't get lost.
5. Some apps have a built in backup feature so you can export the settings to your storage.
6. Plug your phone into your computer and back up anything from your internal storage.
You can use a combo of those options and keep everything you need. As a note, multiple of those are provided directly by Google, so I doubt arguing that Google provides no backup support will get you very far.
Once you've backed up what you need, it's easy to start clean. You can either use the stock recovery to preform a factory reset, or, if your bootloader is unlocked, use the factory images (that Google provides).
As the rest of the people commenting don't seem to be experiencing what you are, it's a safe assumption that starting fresh would take care of your issues. Let me know if you'd like help. I have before and am willing to again, help someone one-on-one through the update/backup/install process to make sure it works for you.

Same here. I used to use Google Wallet before the update on CVS once in a while. However after the update I'm not able to use it anymore.
Not rooted, running stock Android 4.4.3. OTA Verizon Updated.
I am resetting my phone now and will try soon when I get another chance. Anyway, how did it go for you? is yours working now? I do not have insurance, just ran out two days ago when I did a plan change. Sucks big time now that I have to get to know that it doesn't work. Also, just to be sure I tried ISIS/Softcard Wallet as well to see if it is the Google Wallet itself is blocked or handicapped for some reason. But to my surprise, ISIS/Softcard does not work as well. I am doubting the hardware now. Or this is a solid 4.4.3 Update bug that is causing our device to not function as normal. Question is, is Verizon aware of this? How do we report this to Verizon?
According to what I see here, only few have been affected it seems? or is it so?
I am left with many more questions than answers ever since the update.
P.S - After the update my phone isn't as smooth as it was before either. Feels like the I am experiencing choppy frame rates often times. But not to the level that I will fault the phone.
Please help. Let me know what worked for you and what didn't.

Thanks for the response, Honestly, anything and everything helps. Since you have a Verizon M8, assuming from your signature, I guess I am in the minority or rare bunch who's device is affected. I am glad to know that your device is functioning as normal.
I do not have insurance at the moment. And I am sad to learn that I have to send my device to HTC for repairs. Which takes about 10-14 days without phone.
Does Verizon do loaner phones?

You should be covered under verizons one year manufacturer warranty go in to a verizon corporate store they will probably overnight you another m8, and from what most assume usually they seem to always send a new m8 because they are really hard to disassemble so many thing they replace with new. I know many people that got an m8 replaced through asuron the verizon and at&t insurance and everyone says they got a new one because you can go into the settings and they dont show reconditioned and usually show a build date within a couple months of when they receive them.
I say take it to a verizon owned corporate store steer clear of verizon dealers a corporate store can do more for you like overnight you a replacement.
Bit the bullet and called HTC.

Bit the bullet and called HTC. Found out there is another program that they send out a device in advance, overnight that is along with a mailer envelope to return our old unit. But it seems they put a hold on your card for 599 and also a 29 one time fee for this to happen. I am thinking if it is worth going this route. At least this will solve my problem of being without a phone.
But before I do that, I have made sure the HTC Rep to record our coversation and give me time to call back, so that I can test it out one more time.
( Did I tell you some HTC reps are dumb? The first one I talked to, the girl was so stupid that she did not know what is NFC and asked me to explain what it is, and how to use it. Asked me to pause, stopped me numerous times and made me repeat what was not working. After all that, she still did not get it. Hung up the phone on me and left, and did not bother to call me on my backup callback number. Lol. )

Just went to CVS and tried my Google Wallet. Wholla, it worked. So the second reset seemed to have fixed the problem. Or did it? I am not sure, only time will tell. I will keep on trying once in a while to be sure that it is not just a fluke.
Here is what I did.
The HTC rep (the second one that is, first one was dumb and rude due to her limited understanding) asked me to reset the phone once more, and when the phone booted up, I unchecked the Settings > Power > Fastboot option. Disabled Softcard/ISIS Wallet in App settings, Installed Google Wallet again. And all seems to be in order now. Not sure what caused the initial trouble.
I will be on the look and report if the trouble comes back again.
Thanks for the suggestions and feedback guys.

So as my previous post suggested, after a hard reset and disabling the Softcard/ISIS app, and having Google Wallet as the exclusive app, the tap and pay worked at the CVS. However, when I tried again last night, it is no longer working and not registering the tap anymore at the terminal.
I am confused. Is it the hardware? Should I go ahead with the replacement device from HTC? or Should I just blame the software and keep the phone as is. Although my contacts and account is backed up in Google accounts, I still think its a hassle reinstalling 50+ apps, and restoring the phone to its fully functional day to day state that suited me. I just do not like the hassle of swapping phones.
Any last suggestions guys? Or hardware swap is my only way?

Update - Got rid of the HTC One M8, swapped for a Galaxy S5 on craigslist and guess what, Google wallet works fine there. Yes, although that is a Verizon phone as well, grass is definitely greener on that side. I do not like the menu system and UI, color etc, but what it supposed to do, it does without any issues. Yes I miss the aluminum body and the build, also the sense 6, but the ease of use with fingerprint sensor and the vibrancy of amoled screen picks up the slack. Wish HTC can use Amoled screens as well.
I was able to use google wallet no problem after the 4.4.3 update at CVS this is however before CVS disabled their NFC payment system.
Stock Rooted.
I was able to use it just fine at Walgreens this morning.
Never had a problem with it 4.4.3 or 4.4.4

5.1.1 OTA?

So today(5-15) I saw online that T-Mobile USA released the 5.1.1 OTA for there branded Galaxy S6/S6 Edge, so any info on when the Verizon branded version is coming out? I'm having multiply major bugs(wifi, memory, and lagging) across 3 different S6 devices(original device and 2 replacements) since launch day. Also, the Verizon Branded OTA that just came out brought me new bugs like with Google voice to text giving me 2 new bugs and making it unusable. Also, apps are freezing like crazy and ends up freezing the whole phone and when I try to lock the phone with the power button when an app is freezing it opens up the camera instead of locking the phone and most of the time I have to restart the phone when this happens and it happens quite often, but only started after the Verizon OTA. Also, from launch day(across all 3 devices) I been having memory issues with the phone, it tells me it has between 1GB-1.2GB of total memory on the phone and I only have 748MB total available with only very few apps on the phone at the moment, everything closed and all the bloatware gone off the phone. I herd that the Verizon OTA we just got was suppose to fix the memory issue, but apparently for me it did nothing at all with the memory on my phone. and lastly I'm having the major wifi bug a lot of us are having witch for me started on the 6th day after launch and never worked again even after I had 3 different devices and still the same thing is still ongoing, and in fact the Verizon OTA we just got made the wifi bug even worst then before.
So the 5.1.1 OTA is really needed for me to fix these ongoing and new bugs I'm having and after 2 months I'm getting sick and tired of waiting for patches to come out!
You probably should go into your system recovery and clear cache. That will probably help a majority of your bugs.

I already did that and nothing changed at all, and like I said I had 3 different devices and nothing changed at all. In fact the 3rd device I got which I still have was giving me problems from very first time I turned it on and during the initial setup as soon as I turned it on from the FedEx box and the keyboard was slow and not putting the letters I clicked in the box and to click next/skip, restart or power off I had to use my pointer finger and press multiple times and fast like a woodpecker would on a tree in order for those functions to respond, and before I can even finish the initial setup I had to already do a factory reset on the phone. Even typing right now in this box responding to you the phone is lagging just typing now.
Don't think Verizon has announced anything yet. The current G920VVRU1A0E2 works fine for me.
To help with keyboard lag - go into settings and make sure the proper language is intalled and updated. Have you tried different keyboards? Swiftkey?

Well 3 different phones since launch day have been giving me all different kinds of problems and never had a device with out a major problem in it and the new Verizon OTA that just came out in June made the phone even worst then before. The Build for the update is G920VVRU1A0E2, and in fact I even had problems getting the update on my phone because from launch day of the OTA-4days after it came out the OTA would not fully download and give me error code 503 and it wasn't until the 5th day that it worked and then when I finally got it installed on my phone it just brought more bugs to the phone like I talked about in the OP

Have you tried using Odin to flash back to stock with the full tar file instead of the update? If not go here and give it a shot. If you use the OE2 one you will have to factory data reset to wipe your phone clean either after or before you flash.

yea I tired that, but this started as soon as I turned on my phone for the very 1st time trying to do the initial set up, plus like I said even pressing next/skip, power off or reset in the initial setup was a hassle. I had to take my pointer finger and point it down and press fast and many times like a woodpecker in order for the buttons functions to work and I could not even finish the initial setup and had to already do a factory reset before the initial setup was even finished on the 3rd device I have now. The phone is so bad that even clicking the home button some of the apps, Google search and weather is not on screen right away and takes second or 2 to show up, its lagging to show up.

3 different devices and still the same exact major things plus new things on each device are going on with the phone. Switching out the device should fix it all, but I guess this is not the case here. Plus about the wifi issues I'm in a XDA forum 13 pages long about the phones wifi not working(I know it says edge, but it's the same problems with the S6 and S6 edge so no difference)

My 1st phone which arrived on Sat came with G920VVRU1A0E2 out of the box.
Other than normal setups, and uninstalling Google Play Services and Google Play it has not had any problems.
Perhaps you should go into a store and show them how it is not working?

I did on launch day, I went back to the same corporate store a few hours later and got into a fight with the sales rep who sold me the phone a few hours earlier and the store GM because they were Ignorant because my phone was hot as fuc k at 90F and hotter and they said nothing was wrong. On top of that they even lied to me about having the edge devices in stock on launch day and even pulled out the normal S6 trying to trick me and it was not until I said something did he say oh this is not an edge and then said there was no edge's in stock, but while I was waiting in line I asked him and 2 other reps and they all said they had the white 64GB edge in stock. They rather lie to there customers to make a sale then tell the truth(at least this corporate store location), and then when you have problems with the phone they don't care to help you at all. Even 611 said this was very wrong and made a complaint on mine and 611's behalf on the corporate store and the sales rep.

Here is an update, as of recently my phone is getting really really hot and temperatures of 120F+ and even Verizon technical support saw that through their diagnostic system as it was actually on those temperatures at that very moment when they were looking. Also, from me just being tech savvy and Verizon technical support confirming it as well this phone is also supposed to have a safeguard in the phone and if it gets too hot the device is upposed to power off on its own, but apparently the safeguard is not working because when the phone gets very hot the battery starts flashing and in the middle of the screen it tells me the phone is very hot and it only lets me click OK. If I'm charging the phone the battery flashes and say the same thing but just adds unable to charge, & I can unplug the charger and immediately plug it back in to the phone and it will start charging again and then a few minutes later it will give me the same message. When it's doing that its not supposed to tell me anything it's supposed to just shut off and its not doing so.
So there overheating policy states that I have to bring my phone too a corporate store and they're going to replace the device right on spot. So Sunday I went to the corporate store to do that, but for some reason their system wouldn't allow them to process this because it didn't have an option to do it and the general manager and the store representative we're booth trying together for at least 45 minutes. They ultimately ended up just sending me a replacement device via Fedex to my house and when the phone arrives today(7-2) I have to bring the overheating device that I currently have to the store so they can do what they need to do to send it back because by law I'm not allowed to send an overheating device back. Verizon corporate store processed my order on Sunday and I was supposed to get the device on Tuesday but I'm getting it today due to inclement weather at the FedEx Memphis Tennessee hub and so Fedex at the Memphis Tennessee hub was at a complete standstill and my package was part of it.
Once I get my 4th replacement device and start using it for a while I will let you know how it's working

Setting up a replacement Pixel

So I have been loving my pixel and I baby it. However this morning out of nowhere when the phone vibrates it sounds like it is buzzing and probably something is loose inside causing this. Seems others have had this. Long story short looks like I need a replacement. I came from an iphone so it took me a while to set up this phone as ideally as I want. I have rooted it and have TWRP flashed.
Is the best way to set up my new phone when it comes in to back up this one with TWRP, root the new one, flash TWRP on and restore a back up? Will this remember all my settings? Will it back up my apps and info, photos?, notes?.
I'm looking for the fastest way to get set up again
Thanks in advance.

You should use Titanium Backup to back up all user apps+data. Copy that backup to your PC. When you get the new phone, root, install TB and restore. Done!
Do you have a Verizon Pixel? If you do, and the replacement device has the latest security patch, the previous advice is moot since you can't root it any more (locked bootloader).

Is the replacement on the way already? When you get a new Pixel there is a way to transfer all your programs and settings to your new device at the initial setup even without root yet. But you will want to unlock the bootloader first which will cause a factory reset and then do the transfer. I did it from my n5x and it worked great. I wasn't even unlocked or rooted and I'm still not. I haven't used Titanium backup obviously and don't feel the need to any longer. But if you want root then you might as well backup everything and restore what the transfer misses. Best part of the transfer is that all your settings get ported over to the new device, i.e. sounds, preferences, security settings etc. Titanium will not do that.
Alternately, you can set it all up again which is sometimes fun. It lets you change a bunch of stuff and make it like a new device all over again. But as you said, that does take time. Anyway, good luck with the new one.

Well currently arguing with google. Since I didn't buy it from google store but a carrier they want me to send the phone in first before they ship the new one. If you buy it from google then they send you a new one first and put a charge on hold on your CC until old one is received. I asked them to do the same for me but they said it's policy. I'm having the issue escalated.
The steps you mentioned is exactly why I want google to send me one first, through my carrier I would probably have to swap it right away and never have both in my hand.
If I get google to send me one, i'll do both things. Root then transfer via google's method and then use titanium as well for the rest of the stuff.

I don't remember seeing your response on this on your thread. Why wouldn't you guys return at Verizon? You bought these at Verizon, right? Something doesn't add up. Just curious now. I've never had a Verizon exchange not show up at my door the next day, if ordered before 4pm.

I haven't been back on XDA until now and I haven't checked my thread until just now actually lol. But I bought mine from a different retail store called Nebraska Furniture Mart they have a store in Kansas city Mo where I live and they sell the Verizon variant. I called Verizon first and they told me to contact google. Maybe there was just a misunderstanding with the rep I spoke to? I have tried lots of different options but all are pointing to sending the phone in first because I'm past the 14 day remorse period?

Mine is not from verizon, i'm in Canada. With it being christmas my carrier currently has this phone online only. They have a $300 off activation credit going on right now so have had a huge amount of order and it's couple of weeks back log.
Just to back up the fact that Verizon requires you to go through the manufacturer if it's still on the OEM's warranty, the same happened with my LG G Pad 8.3 LTE (VK810). I was paying for the absolute best Verizon warranty on all three lines, and less than six months after I got this device I had a problem with the screen on the LTE (not dropped or cracked, just not working right), and Verizon wouldn't lift a finger to help me and said I had to go through LG.
Totally off topic but luckily LG gave me the absolute best warranty service I ever received. They had me take my device to a FedEx, LG paid for FedEx to box it up and have it shipped to them. I dropped it off on a Monday evening about 5 PM and the tablet was back in my hands fully repaired (not replaced with a refurb) on Friday of the same week around the same time. Sorry for the OT part. Too bad LG bootloader unlockable devices are rare except maybe through some other carriers (T-Mobile?).

You should probably spend some time learning about Android 11 and up and the permissions. If you look, you will see this is an option YOU can control.
Don't blame Samsung for your lack of knowledge.

Since Pie and especially 11 onward Android is full of unpleasant surprises.
I would have it left on 10... I'm deliberately still running Pie on my 10+
i like getting home from work or using weekends spending the evening ticking boxes windows 10 style has always been a favorite of mine, phew windows xp was so boring, nothing to always fix, and thanks android 11 now I get to have all kinds of fun reading through litigation style setting the power that be keep implementing on MY device, kinda like buying a car and regularly functions change, causing annoying problems, (oh wait maybe updates never cause problems? )
so should we start updating automobiles for all that fun downtime and relaxing manual reading goodness?
nah window xp and note 10 is the way for me see

yup.... I wont go on a rant (which means I will...) but this, along with other compromises like this have convinced me there needs to be a minor Revolution in handsets. I mean a device created remind you of the device next to it. Unfortunately I smashed my phone a few months ago and at an inopportune time was forced to choose a new one. I left the whole table open (barring how ridiculous). I chose a pixel 4XL. There were many factors ( mostly personal preferences), but in the end I saw the writing on the wall. Nothing impressed me. A brand new phone would be painful proper rooting. This left only the devices worked over by better individuals (xda members).
And when it came down to it if the bootloader couldn't be unlocked, it was a deal-breaker.
I think the last genuine phone for the average nerd was the Nexus 6.
.... Okay I vented .
I had the same issue in Android 12 with my new handset except only Google didn't tell me like Samsung told you. They just did it.

Android and Samsung are a mess now. I got my 2nd new N10+ less a year ago. Both are stock running on 9 and 10. Even though I disable firmware updates/upgrades I still fight with Samsung apps like Wearables for the Buds+.
It's updates and performance zenithed about a year ago, everything since just degrades it, including the audio. I roll it back but it wants to force update. Fighting with it now, again*.
Samsung hasn't released anything near as good since the N10+, they've lost their minds. Fk em.
Android reached their zenith at 9, scoped storage sucks and isn't needed. This N10+ running on 9 has no issues other than what Samsung continues to screw with
I use whatever works and comes in handy even if it's 3 years old. That goes for hardware and firmware... I don't give a rat's arse about having the newest if it isn't a well balanced, clean running improvement.
* edit, fixed. Uninstalled all Buds and Wearables updates, reinstalled older saved versions, after firewall blocking specific update UIDs. Old UI and the sound volume/Q restored.
Agreed, both companies have lost their minds, I will probably be sane someday with a flip phone and leave all the powers that be behind soon.

I completely understand what your saying, I just think phone owners can spend free time if they chose to just use the phone and be cool, not need to get a huge secrets and tips book like for windows 7 and now 1 of those books for each new phones because of all the absurd changes that went along with scraping the world best os xp and note 3 in my option. Companies lost it to long ago, can't do a make over on a UI without all kinda of restrictions oh I meant goodness. So long gone are the super chill days, it's time to become a mini tech support technician when you get home from work

One of the few features of Samsung that I like is that of you keep your Samsung account and Google account sperated (not sure if this is actually necessary) and your phone is compromised you may have a 2nd chance at redemption... Samsung seems to give more hardware for the $ tho.....
But that makes you that much more of their product in my opinion....

I never set a lock on the phone and make sure I have the Google account password impossibly long, complex and etched in stone.
Find my Device is always disabled.
No social media apps on the phone, wifi always disabled.
Lol, being a Google product sucks. Zero trust in the ruling elites; they've weaponized our devices along with most everything else.
The spen is very useful when you need it. In the N10+ it just nests, protected, until it's needed. Some things can't be done easily or at all without it. Smart select rocks.

Question Has anyone with an unlocked A53 5G (in the US) received the Android 13 update?

Just as the subject mentions. Curious if it's just me?
Nada. No update. And when I mentioned this on their forum, they deleted the post.
I even tried the thing where you remove the SIM and search for updates then. Didn't make any difference.
Searching with Sammoblie and Frija, only the carrier version(A536U) from Xfinity/Comcast has gotten it in the US.
I don't have it either, what bothers me most is that 13 was released for older A phones including lower priced models already. Is it possible that because this is an enterprise phone (at least in the USA) it requires more time for testing?

What bothers me was how quickly Samsung deleted my post on their forum after I asked about this.
It's been like 6 weeks since the same phone in other countries was given this. It's quite annoying.

Samsung's discussions has a sticky at the top that updates happen whenever (edit: or at least it did before). And that's definitely how it goes for all their devices.
Even Samsung flagships go through silly stuff for updates and Android versions so its not A53 only.
The A53 unlocked has carrier apps on it so its tied to the carrier testing. Why will US carriers release Android 13 for older devices before newer? No idea but that's how their testing is going. They have some reason.
Really, you will get it when you get it. If you just think it won't show up until the year 2721 then it should be easier for you lol.
Its frustrating I know for unlocked to be dependent on carriers. But, waiting, it will at least probably have less bugs so that's fine enough. A buggy device isn't fun at all.
edit: Also A52 appear to be doing better than the A53 in getting Android 13 and listed as Enterprise. So, I don't think Enterprise has anything to do with it.
edit: The end result appears to be what Samsung's sticky said which is updates happen when they happen.
Samsung promised 4 years of updates for this phone so they have about 3 more years to give us android 13.

3 Days ago, my phone suddenly shut itself off, and then stuck itself in a bootloop and would not boot again. It's a Samsung A53 5G (ATT&T) running android 12 one UI version 4.1 at the time. After booting into safe mode and wiping application config data, it still would not come out of safe mode until I factory reset it and connected it to a wifi network.
Finally after all of this BS, I got it to boot normally, but then, as if by magic, my phone was running Android 13 UI Version 5.0!
WTF!?
So I spent an entire day recovering my bank accounts, cashapp, applications, and various accounts, and chalked this pain in the ass up to the game...
And then this morning, it ****in' happened again.
I'm done with Samsung. This phone has been a $500 piece of **** since day 1. It's not even 3 months old yet. Samsung has gone from the most badass manufacturer of android devices, straight to the bottom of the abyss in terms of quality.
The Bloatware they send with these devices now should be unlawful. The amount of YOUR resources they use to track every single thing you do, every place you go, every dollar you spend is unfathomably creepy and discomforting.
Do yourself a favor and get comfortable with 12. because 13 is an even bigger piece of ****, and in my case, it has totally wrecked my phone twice in 3 days now.
Do yourself an even bigger favor, and throw your samsung into the bottom of the ocean and go buy yourself an IPhone. I'm really sad about the way Samsung has turned out. I'm even more sad about the way Android has gone down the drain. And Google has turned into the world's most powerful creepy stalker with Facebook a close 2nd.
I think if people actually new just how intrusive these tech companies have become, they'd stop using them altogether. There needs to be new and better privacy regulations and trackers and spywares and metadata miners and these 'ad targeting' programs and applications should be illegal.

That's not the experience of most people. Since you bring up Apple as if that will help you avoid this when it can happen there too: https://myphotoyear.com/ios-16-update-goes-wrong/
Its just a fact of life.
More or less it could be improved or solved by multi-OS versions at the same time (such as dual boot on a computer), slower major OS versions, etc. This is not how Google or Apple thinks though.
To add, you can of course improve loss of data by using system backup and also backing up your stuff separately. Though Android still isn't perfect there.
Of course, if you see an update, avoiding updating for some months might also help though not ideal.
edit: For instance you could have used the Samsung restore which may be presented on first use setup or even manually done in Settings > Accounts and Backups > Restore which will restore much if you used the online backup or backup to sd card. Some apps and data will be missing if apps don't support it, etc. Unfortunately, it seems to only offer one backup at least online so any backup on the account since might have destroyed it.
edit: using that and backing up to sd card includes 10GB of stuff on my phone whereas the online is suggested as 2GB (it backs up files and also eg debug built from source apps). So, if you want the best, it may be what you should do from now on. Then restore it if need be. Still, up to apps to support backup individually. Make sure to run it weekly or something.
Also, I know you're pissed about that. Try not to be pissed with me lol. Thanks.
I'm thinking we're in for weeks, or months, more wait. We haven't even gotten a January Security Update.
Just received the Android 13 (One UI 5.0) update last night on my unlocked phone. Also includes the Jan 2023 security update. Looks like they just made the January cutoff
Hmm I have unlocked a53 on t mobile, I checked for updates today and it said there were none.
I received the update today for Android 13 including dual sim support.
I been checking my A53 unlocked running on Visible every week since Christmas for an update. Today it found the Android 13 UI 5.0 update. downloading it now.
How is the new version? any bugs found?
ok, once my phone updated and rebooted now I am no longer connecting to 5G. I've rebooted a few times and nothing has changed. I'm stuck back on 4G.

5 days after your post (6 since you got the update), with daily checking, and it's still a No for me.
My A53 arrived this morning and upon turning it on, my device had a lot of firmware updates waiting for me. I just updated to Android 13 not too ago along with January's Security patch.
I happen to live in the US, use T-Mobile, and I'm using the international version with dual SIM support.

They do rollouts on top of things.
You could of course use a sim from a different carrier that has the upgrade available and do it that way. Might just get it immediately or still not. Then switch back. That is a possible workaround.
Of course, if you see a signed image for download for Android 13 for your carrier. That might work too even though it still is a wait for it to show up that way.
I don't know if there's any other way here because of the CSC. It would be interesting to know if a Samsung service shop would do it for you. I can't imagine they would.
Received the update today. Seems to run faster.
